What a joke how impossible can that be
lagerwhenindoubt:
60 days to revive local refineries grin grin grin a cruel insult to our sensibilities - it took nearly 2 decades to wind-up the refineries to their present state and you bladdy stick your oafish thumb in the air and say 60 days is feasible - perhaps withdrawal symptoms from paraga and poli poli grin grin
Easily the obvious signs of FG deception grin
This has been my thought while going through the post
Kai @kobojunkie make the length text shorter next time, we have a lot we are doing and also a lot of pages we want to read through and contribute to,

Coming to think of it what is the function of the Ministry of Petroleum when practically what they are supposed to be doing would be done by committee upon committee what a waste of our funds and resources

Their are some of us that were their and observed the elections in some of these states directly and indirectly both the morals of these same people. Oni and Olagunsoye are supposed to be arrested and charged for stealing and sentenced to a firing squad as a deterrent to other riggers because in all sincerity if a man can be sentenced for steal chewing gum without option or fine and these men without any fabric of morality are taking legitimate mandate owners to court again, Gosh, and some is talking because of personal bias for the party in power Gosh, if you have ever stayed in any of these area's/states you would understand the ideologies of these people are quite different, because the level of ignorance is very low and superior arguments hold sway as against sentiments and oppression(one party carry go structure) as well as the availability of options for balance, we know them and their antecedents, we know whose who! So if you want to continue in backwardness and clueless-ness your segment of the country should continue with the business as USUAL syndrome mine have determined they want development by common consent and choosing those with the ability to deliver, and have voted a change that a group of cowboys want to seize again.

Bello555:
Super eagles cant do well unless we sack all player from 2010 backwards.
The problem started wen choaches wer nt finding exact replacements for any aging player.
Okocha was gettin old and we wer using him till he retired instead of lookin for his type to replace him.
Kanu was aging and nobody to replace his role in d team.
Taribo west has no replacement till date.bcs yobo is jst managin and has nt done half of wat taribo west did, bt he is already aging and no replacement yet.
Osaze is already 30yrs(futball age). He is aging and we dont want to get som young talent to bench him.
Yakubu is an old man and we r still callin him bak.s if we dont hav anoda beta striker in dis contry.
Taiye taiwo i already aging and he is clamin 25yrs, he is already gettin slow while his mate, messi is gettin faster and we dont want to replace him.
Mikel obi is anoda flop. But bcs he plays for chelsea, people see him as a good player and naija best. He is d worst and havent done 1/4 of wat essein did bt ghana went to nations cup witout him to proof to him dat dey can do witout him.
If u look at our players, u will see that dey ar all over 30yrs. Hw can dey play african football dat needs alot of stamina!

As far as am concerned, kishi shud drop any player dat has played frm 2010 back and start wit a new generation. If posible go to d next nations cup wit homebased players.

Looking at this critically we are all suspicious of ourselves with holding fort for any one would you rather buy a substandard item with a loan from the bank for yourself bearing in mind you would be paying the principal and the interest or would you buy the best, for yourself it is totally unfair of someone to force you to take buses which are substandard have you entered any I have and I tell you the F.G is scaming nigerian's already the govt. is a fraud they haven't paid civil servants for 2months those that have paid have had to be authorized to use funds available to them to augument pensioners have not been paid till date Okonjo iweala has been looking and flying round the world to look for funds to run government why do you think they removed fuel subsidy in the first place we are selling crude but we are not being paid for it if the buses were good and of the required standard of the NLC they would have applied for them and not the FG foistering it on them (just my thought)

Nice write up and submission but after Seun I call it the generation next, 9ice called it "OWO AFE FE" money in the air, what next yes he managed to break through though he isn't in nigeria see when he was in IFE I guess he was craving at the idea but nigeria almost frustrated it, our problem in nigeria are multifaceted and I keep saying in any developed nation billionaires are all industrialists of some sort and shipping magnates but in nigeria most of the billionaires can't be traced to a specific line of business though some are in services all the same we are referring to those of us in nigeria not in diaspora
kayceekool:
I believe strongly that with God all things are possible. One indeed can become a multi-millionaire without medling with corruption or politics. All it takes is good thinking, creation of mind blowing ideas that could rock your world. Some body mentioned Seun, the young guy was smart enough to see ahead and to take advantage of vast opportunity (the internet). The opportunities the internet presents to us is far beyond anything you can imagine. Just open your eyes and see and take advantage of it. There is no telling how much success you can achieve if you start now because time they say waits for no one. Seun started some years back, see what he has achieved today. Imagine what he will achieve in five years time. But you can start now, say no to procrastination.
The internet doesn't require much from you to start up that business that grows into a multi-million dollar business empire. Take the likes of facebook and others.
That millions or billions you so desire is not far from reach. It use to be but not now any more. You can become the next success story.
Every thing you want to find out setting up and growing any kind of online business, giving you a step by step guide and mentoring to build that multi-million dollar business can be found here www.moneycom.ftsites.com

Speaking honestly and sincerely it isn't possible you have to bend in all directions to stay afloat and give what is not necessary to survive government policies do not sustain honesty from my own experience I assessed a bank loan and it went bad I approached the BOI when they were assessing loans to manufacturers and they said I should approach my bankers whom in turn showed me the list of requirements to assess these intervention funds and they were simply unattainable for an SME owner when more effort was put on them they just told me straight this loan is to small for us to process when we made out a loan of N1billion for peugoet nigeria and its the same process we would entail I would love to talk more but not now, I have other examples in fact numerous ones but hear this I quoted for a contract to supply and manufacture some items with a government parastal I gave them the price and as usual it was over invoiced with a promise that the difference would be collected immediately I supplied for them to process my payment I had to bend coz of all the obligations hanging on me and the need to create a relationship as usual the funds were to be paid into my account the over invoicers had forgotten that the bank was going to charge me COT et al and I was going to borrow money from the bank to facilitate the production believe you me the over invoicers didn't give a heck of my situation and collected above the amount as their own kick backs before they would collect the items, and this happens across board everywhere, to Dangote he whom washes his hands with kings and queens shall dine at their table washing hands involves a lot talk less of dining with them and only government policies in specific directions can make a person a millionaire e.g otedola the ban on importation of diesel and the sole right to import made him a billionaire, Dangote was cement and sugar, Mike adenuga was rice and textiles, subomi balogun was universal banking, zenith was universal banking, jimoh ibrahim and privatisation CAC, government ponzy schemes name them better still research them hard work will help to make and count millions washing your hands with them will making you count multi-millions, and dining with them with send you into the billionaires list SHEKENA

Business › Re: Why Do Nigerian Small Businesses Fail From Inception? by olajide8(m): 3:10pm On Feb 24, 2012
I would have loved to give you a detailed reason of why businesses fail but mostly its not as a result of the entrepreneur in most cases but as a result of circumstances and conditions but looking at it abstractly larger organisations like banks are also failing and the most basic reason why they are failing is as a result of lack of assessibility to long term finance and reduced interest rates particularly in nigeria its as a result of the amount of charges involved in assessing this finance and the kind of policies that encourages the inability of the entrepreneur to make use of loans when he is even granted please for more details grab a copy of THE CRITIC magazine this is a detailed chronology of my personal experience soon to hit stands but nairaland peeps you would be the first to read about my experience

this has been long over due, why are they are finding it hard to do, collateral damage to the presidency that has already been damaged (if they can unilaterally increase the price of fuel and cause us hardship beyond reasoning why should this be an issue, what i cant seem to comprehend, looking at it critically they just have to stop the unproductive waste and forget about giving or creating employment for the boys and lazy jesters in these offices (NAPEP "NAA so-so pilot programs" they are doing their and collecting hundreds of millions every year) have you gone to any federal ministry they only jest walk up and down sale clothes go to all the canteens mess around then request for P.R from contractors before they would collect items supplied which they have officially over invoiced apart from selecting those they think would pay them so why do we have to keep these conduit pipes

THE SENATE, POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION, MINISTRY OF POLICE AFFAIRS, THE OFFICERS AT POLICE STATIONS -THAT ARE GREEDY, and lawyers that now how to twist the law to suit themselves.

have you ever gone to any of adenuga interviews i have, have you gone to any of ecobanks interviews i have oando, chevron shell i have done all and that waas years ago before i finally got ecobank and started my enterprise and i am not regretting it at least if i am going through hell its for myself i have employed scores of Bsc graduates and they always have this mentality their certificates would oput food on their table i guess that why they arew offering them civil service jobs more to sit behind governmnet table and collect free allowances for doing nothing, Nigeria, well the public service is also that bad the federal civil service commission is the major culprit agencies and et al
well please forget about this statement with your HND & MBA you are home dry, hmm they would also tell you, you are over qualified talking from experience, with 4 professional qualifications and an MBA, it is a crazy world (Nigeria) and innovation and enterprise should hold sway because we are a developing country that needs innovation and enterprise but well its lost and not desk officers, so plz wake up people its just opportunity that shines on some and not on all
Monaide:
Here's the deal: It's not about the Fg scrapping HND programme, it's about the fg giving the same level of acceptance and recognition to the HND programme in the same measure that is given to the bsc.

The plain fact still remains that polytechnics do a lot more practicals than the universities. So what remains is the recognition being given to the polytechnics in the same measure in which is given to the universities. It's not fair!

The fg MUST make the Higher National Diploma recognised in the country, it's in their hands and in their hands only and no one else. Believe you me, if the Higher National Diploma is scrapped, Nigeria as a whole will take a negative dive in terms of development, BELIEVE IT!

Institutions both private and public should even give the HND holders a chance before even condemning them. Give them a chance Give US a chance. Then if we are not good enough SACK US! But I believe you won't be disappointed.

PEACE TO NIGERIA.
i love this submission but how many people will give this equal opportunity certainly not in Nigeria thats to show how bad it is

Businesstools:
The fact that you possess HND or BSc has absolutely no influence on your intellectual capability.A Bachelors Degree will only equip you better than an HND.A typical instance in Engineering,Advanced Calculus which comprises of Fourier Series,LaPlace Transforms and others which is offered in 200L in the Uni,is an HND course in the Poly. They don't even go into details.
Would that tell you how to bridge a transformer or identify the issues or of power challenges when looking for a bridge on a generating set issue, is it just paper work qualification the mathematics of power, managing a system that has already been developed, rather then creating a transformer, look beyond the course ( beyond the flesh and see the meat) how many professional examinations have you found that polytechnic students find challenging when compared to their university mates i happen to be doing a masters and without over rating the course they a re a walk in the park, i remember ev en being used as a machinery then to do exams for some of my friends ( in those days of ignorance) so whats are you trying to get at

What's the difference between a nation and a country?

http://geography.about.com/cs/politicalgeog/a/statenation.htm
just my thought whats the oxford dictionaries definition of a country and a nation
NATION- A relatively large group of people organized under a single, usually independent government; a country.
COUNTRY- The territory of a nation or state; land.
whats the difference
Education › Re: Hnd Program In Nigeria Is A Scam! by olajide8(m): 1:33pm On Feb 13, 2012
yes this your view may be true but that still does'nt give room for equal opportunity
Businesstools:
I do not buy the opinion that Degree holders cannot measure up to their HND counterparts.Their responsibilities in an organisation are different.Besides,we are all presented with equal opportunities to attend poly,Uni,Colleges of Edu or others. The choice is for individuals to make.If a person is not satisfied with his educational qualification, the room for advancement is not exhausted.
believe it or not Dangote was a university graduate before he became the richest man bill gates dropped out of university but employed the best brains to manage his business the list is endless but i guess we always want to defend our constituency
zignor:
and the entrepreneuer after becoming business mogul will still employ university graduate as manager of his firm. . . . .lol grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin who is deceiving who?
coming to this like they say desperation brings out innovation and that is where the enterprise comes into play
Ninapha:
You are right on point.  Most times you dont get to know this discrimination untill  u are out of the system, and unfortunately both the govt and the employers  are bent on frustrating them.  I hv often asked, if the system is not functional and the standard not acceptable by most institutions, why not scrap it or look into the curriculum.  Even in  Govt parastatal  they can only get to a certain level.  I can never forget Diamond Bank Experience.

The truth be told going thru the polytechnic and going thru the university, one would not fail to notice why this discrimination is always alive.  the rigours in the uni are more demanding even though in some same courses, polytechnic graduates spend more years.  Now what is the crime of Polytechnic graduates? Why has the govt not bring out a clear view of their reason for establishing polytechnics and their future career chances?that way people would know before hand if they actually want to be at that level.

I attest that most polytechnic students are not there because they are dull but because of the Nigerian factor, Post UME and all the "ojoros"and sometimes the nature of the system which allows one to do OND and later HND. The other hand most lecturers in the polytechnic are average with mostly Msc. few PHDs and are often not interested in breaking records.

In the labour market, i have worked with both products, each institution has its own beauty i appreciate.  I must say that in engineering our university graduates do better while in Accounting and management, our polytechnic products are far better then i ask? why cant the authorities look into this problem and fix things that needed fixing than subjecting people 5 years of emptiness after graduation.

I am a product of both  but for me untill this madness is cured, no one from my linage wd go to the polytechnics.
