OLADIMEHJI: @olajide_07 y do u fail to reason strait? so u r now comparin ondo state n lagos state! do u tink Ondo state has d same capital available to Lagos state (IGR + FED ALLOCATION)? n moreova lagos state is far in terms of infrastructure n development not because it came into existence tru A.tinubu nor Governor fashola but because d structure had been laid since it was used as nigerian former FCT. n moreova u r talkin abt one state investin into transportation n d oda investin in hospital, to b frank wic of d two is more needed here in ondo? n I l lyk to ask u few questions so dat @ d end of d day u can correct urslf:
(1) aw many dual lane roads do we v in d entire ondo state? in comparison to lagos aw many do A.tinubu n G.fashola met by d tym dey becum d gov. of lagos state @ dre disposal?
(2) aw many towns n citys do we witness traffic jams in ondo state dat makes us to b in nid of rails as anoda means of transportation lyk lagos?
(3)aw many private companies do we v in Ondo state lyk Lagos state dat can aid private companies to partner wt us easily? (4)Or u failed to av it in mind dat most of d lagos projects r always in partnership wt private investors. private investors wnt partner wt u until dem believe dat dre is market for dem I.e people dat l patronies dem. wat is d population of young men n women in Ondo state compared to lagos dat can patronise d private investors' markets?
(5)dont forget dat most Ondo state projects r financed tru ondo state's purse n not partnerships except dat of Gani Fawehinmi diagnostic centre. unlyk Lagos states projects dat is always based on private pubic partnership.wic d populace l stl av to bore d burden after payin huge taxes.( so pls don't compare).
so dse few reasons nid to make u realise dat we stl nid to put a lot of tins on ground to woo private companies down to Ondo state n ds wl inturn boost our IGR n more people wl troop down to Ondo state for jobs n livin wic I believe dat is wat our honourable Gov. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko is tryin to achieve. (creatin a realiable structure for d development of Ondo state ). Til den I believe ondo state vision is so diff. to dat of Lagos. tnx
What do they call innovation you have to think outside the box to increase your IGR, you need more money create wealth and tax them, what is stopping them from building up processing centres, what has happened to oluwa glass rather then looking into this its government allocation MIMKO is waiting for how can you succeed by waiting for hand outs, you said we don't need the rail system how myopic can this statement sound don't other states need them what if their was a joint collaboration by the other states to act as a transit terminal, bring in some of the quickest trains and then decided to form a major terminal point to the closest states for a fee wouldn't that add to the bottomline reduce car accidents, have you pasted through the owo -akoko by pass of recent its totally un-motorable its a federal road and its not up to 80km's imagine if the state government built its own shorter routed road cutting through the towns and the were tolled if you are truely from Ondo state you would request for a general hospital of world class standard in Akoko, Ilaje, Akure, axis which would cater for people from near by states ekiti, akoko edo, and within Ondo, See excuse for no performance it takes approximately 4hrs to drive form akure to ikare a 58-72km drive on a federal road, on a final note you can not raise your hand further above the height at which your body allows you to attain so the state cannot grow beyond what it has if it does solicit for someone taller to help it, my take, do we wait for traffic Jams before we start to dualize our roads, or we look for foreign partnerships using P.P.P, to help develop the state we should create enterprise the returns should be used to develop the state, I wish the state could be used as a reference point for other states and not run the way PDP run their show, giving out buses which would not exceed 5years clinics which cannot handle operating cases and people will die before they get to hospitals for treatment, we have water we can generate power and sell to other states immediately around us we could bring in a transformer manufacturing plant and create economy so my brother the list is endless and the only thing I see is excuses for. Non performance

torkaka: you see the problem with polytechnics. so in your myopic way of thinking a doctorate degree holder is the same thing as a professor?
Why do we always have to teach or explain to some to ourselves or some people that in nigeria and indeed around the world their is no special degree after your doctorate degree P.hd (doctor of philiosphy in what ever area letters humanity etc) and what you put in for is your doctor of letters degree where what is used to exam you is the amount of research you undertake any specific area you choose, and 2 things happen at a certain level that can make you a Prof, you come up with a theory which is adjudge by the NUC or any other international body with the right to confer Prof status, just like say pat utomi's case - and big bag principle, about economic capitalism (can't remember what its was about again) or the prof chinua achebe things fall apart and then other works of his, all these works would be put together to make them assess your capacity to be conferred with professorship like I said either your works or when you attained a specific number of years as a doctorate degree holder(the last time I heard it was 20/25yrs after you had obtained your doctorate) and that will only make you an associate professor if I am wrong correct me just to justify my earlier statements, about polytechnics this is from auchi polytechnic where the head of a dept a prof was kidnap by the rector an associate Prof.(That's what they said me I no dey their) www.mobile.saharareporters.com/news-page/auchi-polytechnic-professor-kidnapped
Secondly any polytechnic holder you see with less than 5 credits which don't include maths and english either went to a private polytechnic or is holding a fake certificate, it should be checked. Standard is 5 o'level credits at not more then two sittings just like University undergraduates

Biola4u: Since when did paramilitary camp turn to a military camp ? Some people are just too weak to stand to their right. So, once you're a corper you no more have right, and those guys are free to harass you. Think like a HUMAN pls !
How myopic some can be once you are about to go to camp they give you a specific time to get their military style, then you register and file for you camp uniform military style then you are given numbers like military officers only that yours is for a year, then you are told how to dress when to wear you full gear and when not to military style, the do's and dont's of camp military style, then they tell you when to queue for food military style, and group you into platoons military style with platoon leaders, then they tell you how sacred the parade ground is military style they tell you when to sleep stylishly and wake you up with a bingle at 5am (saying, dey suffer dey suffer this useless corper) government then puts you on their payroll for a year and you can't leave where they post you to without notice or redeployment - why don't they use the term transfer like civil defence or police why do they use the military term redeployment its because you belong to them for that period so enjoy it catch the fun and start to grow up you are just about to enter the real world.

naptu2: Marina will become the main transport hub in Lagos when the project is completed. It will be served by LRT, BRT, regular bus, taxi and ferry services.

There isn't much work going on with regard to the red line, although the current NRC track in the area is being upgraded. Here is a link to the red line briefing document. http://www.lagosrail.com/_downloads/Lagos%20Red%20Line%20Project%20Briefing.pdf

Below is an artist impression of how Marina will look when the project is completed.
CCECC are also the ones handling the abuja light rail system and they have just done what average nigerian's would have done, I would have preferred LCC handling the construction when I was in lagos I loved the lekki axis road they constructed what os retail stores around the place to create businesses a terminals hoping it wouldn't look like the old ikeja oshodi terminal plan where people stand and hang around like criminals until the train comes

naptu2: The Blue Line.

The Lagos-Badagry Expressway is part of the abandoned Trans-African Highway project. However, it is prone to massive traffic jams. This has stunted development along that corridor since people don't want to live and work in that area because of the traffic problems.

Therefore, the Lagos State Government is expanding the road. It will be a 10 lane expressway with BRT and LRT routes. Julius Berger is expanding the road (so far they've expanded the road between Orile and Mile 2 and expanded the Mile 2 Bridge), while Chinese Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) is laying the tracks. It's largely going to be an elevated rail system (CCECC has built part oof the bridge along the Orile axis and they are also building elevated stations from Orile too Mile 2).

Here is a link to the briefing document and below is an artist impression oof the project. http://www.lagosrail.com/_downloads/Lagos%20Blue%20Line%20Project%20Briefing.pdf

Beaf: "The Unity School syndrome" is the most glaring of the inaccuracies in your post, sir. Unity schools are Federal Govt Colleges which have no bearing on the residents states capabilities; the one at Ido-ani was built by the FG and is still run by the FG.
FGC Ido-ani is also nowhere near the ages of the first two Unity schools, Kings College and Queens College (both in Lagos). Between Kings College and FGC Ido-ani, there are the likes of FGC Portharcout, FGC Warri etc.

The next most glaring inaccuracy in your post is ascribing the lack of an interstate rail to Mimiko. Railway lines, like petroleum are 100% owned, planned, built and managed by the FG. We should be thankful that Mimiko has always displayed a mature approach and not given to telling incredible lies like the uncultured thug, Aregbesola in neighbouring Osun state, who has being spreading laughable tales about buying rail carriages and repairing rail lines. Perhaps, Aregbesola will soon claim to have bought the bridges on federal roads, while Mimiko has his raw performance to bear him witness.

I could go on, but I think thats enough for now.
Please, let us be factual in our arguments.
I am from AKOKO, Believe it or not @beaf knowledge they say is power and over this particular issue forget it, Victory Secondary school akure is a state owned unity school built to provide the same services, better still as an alternative to indigents children of the state as against the federal govt college Ido-Ani, so their your wrong, lagos state has model college kanko, model college badore coined after the unity system of Ondo state, a none oil producing state is thinking of the blue and red metro-line check my new topic post while fashola is busy signing investment contracts for the actualisation mimko is praising himself for building health centres(clinics) telling me this is what my people want because they requested for them at a town hall meeting rubbish, open the veil of their eyes and they would go militant (they would ask what all the allocations F.G is giving them is going into), if they know they can get more, the S.W is pushing for an agenda to build rail lines which would work beside the federal link interstate roads which would serve as an alternative transport route, health standards which would be standardised at the same price across the region and you tell me mimiko is working he is actually pulling us back I come from the state and have gone their on a few occasion but passing through mostly, I just don't come from the state I am a crowned prince so I am more grounded then you when it comes to my state, you want better governance drum up support for me come 2017 shekena!

Just thinking of this innovation, and welcome development, that is going on in lagos, and the possibility of, if we can ever have the same kind of train network as the metro-lines/tubes of the UK fashola said he would soon commission/open the badagary axis calling it the blue metro-line, and the other the axis Red metro-line, I would love to see the map though, though I am wondering how much demolition would have to go into it for it to be successful I know it would never be possible to have under ground tubes though I wish it was possible but the only reason I can see are because of our poor maintenance culture and the possibility that some armed robbers may decide to form road or train blocks with an intent of accousting a moving train just my thought what of you

Even as work progresses on the first phase of the 61 kilometre Lagos-Badagry Light Rail Project christened the Blue Line, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has begun moves to woo British and other investors to take concession on the second part of the rail project.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris has expressed the state government dismay at the high rate of maternal and infant mortality in the state disclosing that the design of projects and programmes to address the issue was underway.

On the light rail project, Fashola, while hosting the British Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for International Development (DFID), Mr. Stephen O’Brien at the Lagos House, Marina, said the Red Line which, according to him, “is waiting to be taken”, offers so much options for collaboration.

Plz my friend she didn't not double the transactions within the capital market she is only regulating activities of parties in the market as a one time player in the market its people like you that decide to buy shares coz your broker advise you, the increase of trading transactions and the reason for the crash was because banks like intercontinental, oceanic, union bank were lending people money to people to buy shares which they couldn't take possession of and secondly the so called foreign investors had to drag out their money because the banks in their home countries were calling for these loans, given to them to do invest in the capital market in Nigeria during the economic crisis/recession, coupled with the fact that these nigerian banks rather then lending to SME's invest in products preferred buying and selling, and this placed all kinds of tabs which did allow people to trade freely as buyers/players and they couldn't sell what they had brought on loan until they had paid back the loans they acquired, so where does she come in " I BIND THE. This is exactly the issue these so called prophets let's call a spade a spade are the gensis of most marital crisis and breakups with their fake prophecy setting up unlike people with each other saying its the word of God, I am a victim, and still am, my parents are victims after how many years, one pastor mrs comes and tries to snatch my old man from my old woman and succeeds only for my old man to wake up years after and throw her out, then my Ex would ask, have you talked to you pastor about it ( as if the pastor was their 9years ago when I meant her) well I don't know what's right I guess most of these stem from the fact that people especially women are indecisive these are people that would place their lives in your hands and possibly, go to places you can say on this forum with your consent -that is, and you would still stay with them, does it take a sooth sayer need to tell them you are the right person for them mehn! women, pastors, church and the easy way out and we would continue in this cycle, only hoping some would defy these prophets of destruction (guess what? it normally happens amongst people that have been dating/courting or about to get married the most the fear of the unknown sets in and they just want a second opinion the so called pastors then tell them what they want to hear by asking a few questions and using a generally template of men's character as a yardstick they swallow it hook line and sinker and BAM! down goes the years of hard work and the relationship).
