So, the VB for September 2022 has been released: No movement. I'm not surprised.

That draws the curtain on the 2021/22 window.

See you all in the next fiscal year 2022/23 & all the best to everybody on the waiting line.

Please what’s the assurance that they’ll move faster in the next fiscal year? Do you know the average time it takes to be scheduled for interviews for ir1 and f2a? Would appreciate your response

VB: August 2022.

Kindly explain the significance of this bulletin. I’m not sure if I remember how to interpret it. F2A says current, once documentarily qualified, does it mean they will get interview date? What month are they now? The whole process is so confusing

Yes, Thanks

Kindly give an update. I expedited my case through USCIS and now at NVC as well. I’ve submitted all documents required and I’m wondering how I will get an interview date if it gets approved.

Please I have a quick question. I’m currently at the nvc stage, I filed for my husband who was previously married but lost his wife 2 years before we got married. However, he only did Nikkah with her. Aside from the death certificate, does he need to provide any proof or certificate of marriage for their marriage? If yes, he does not have one because it was just Nikkah. Will a statement from him explaining be sufficient or does he need an affidavit?

I would appreciate your response. Thank you

Is your husband in the us or Nigeria ?
If in Nigeria: after submitting form I 130 you get a priority date, so the 2 years they are talking about starts from your priority date. As of now after you have been approved by uscis,
your case will be sent to nvc and since f2a is current as at now, they will invite you to submit your supporting documents, stating what they need you to submit. After nvc has deemed your case to be documentrily complete, they will wait for lagos embassy to schedule him for interview. As at today people going through this process are spending more than 3 years on the process.

Okay. Thanks a lot. Can I apply for K3 if that’s still ongoing?

The processing time for approval right now takes between 36 to 5 months, depending on the service center that is attending to your case.

The service center is California

How are you doing ? I remembered your immigration journey from days before covid, hope you are well settled now, hope your siblings have also immigrated.

Wow! Thank you. We’re doing very well. They moved to the US and are settling pretty well. Thank you for asking.

Good day,
I’m a US LPR and I filed for my husband last year march, the category is F2A. I hear people say the wait time is 2years. Is the wait time observed before uscis approval? After the approval, what happens next and how long does it take to be transferred to NVC?
Your response will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Good day. I just came across this information and it’s very useful for me at this time. If I may ask, for f2a, is the wait time observed before uscis approval? Or after the approval by uscis. Your prompt response will be appreciated. Thank you

ifunanyamaka:

CR1/IR1 is only issued to spouse of a U.S citizen. For spouse of a Permanent resident, the Visa category is F2A and I heard the wait time is about 2years. This is because F2A have to wait for their priority dates to be current on the Visa bulletin, whereas CR1/IR1 has no waiting time, priority date is always current and as such the whole process can be completed within 9 months to 1.6 year depending on the state where the petition was filed. The process is the same though, only difference is the timeline

I just got mine too. It's very easy and straightforward, you don't need an agent and you don't have to go there.
Follow the instruction in this link, fill out the form on page 2 and submit to the consulate. They will process and mail back to you before your travel date.

Good day.
I'm in California and I just submitted the required documents but did not notarize the consent letter. What's the implication of that?
patricia23:

I took the documents there just before 12 noon and I picked it up the next day.
Remember to notarize the consent letter, or u can do it at the building next to the embassy for $10

Just send to your partner electronically, he will print and have it notarized. Exactly what I did. My husband mailed me the notarized copy through UPS.

Sheila007:
Hello everyone, Can the notary form for applying for baby passport in the absence of one parent be sent to my email so I can print here in the USA or the original copy has to be sent all the way?? Please help

Please what's the link to the immigration page. I tried applying but it says Visa on arrival is not available to children under 18. Which agent did you use. Please help a sister.
Thanks

drgerapink:
Visa on arrival is issued to infants that have Nigerian parents. You can check the requirements on the immigration page. Gather the required documents and send an email. Its usually approved within 48hrs(used an agent). Once approved, you will be sent an approval letter which you will show the airline and the child's passport will be stamped on arrival.

Thank you once again.
Do I need to go through an agent to hasten the process or monitor it if need be? I'm in California and I believe NY is the closest to me.
Goldie10:
You need Emergency Travel Certificate or a Nigerian visa for him to fly into Nigeria without a nigerian passport. I'll recommend you get the ETC, as Visa on arrival unfortunately has been stopped for nigerians. If you are in a city with a Nigerian embassy then you can go there with the required documents as that is the case in ATL. Not sure the city you're in, but if its New York here's the requirement. You are expected to send the documents via mail - https://www.nigeriahouse.com/documents/TravelCert.pdf (for New York).

I obtaıned a US passport for my son. Can he travel wıthout a vısa? Or obtaın vısa on arrıval. Wıll I be allowed to travel from the US wıth hım?We are goıng wıth Turkısh Aırlıne

Goldie10:

Hi Gosina,

You need to first book a ticket for the baby for the day you intend to fly. Then call the passport office on 1-877-487-2778 . They will ask if you have an emergency travel and ask for the ticket reference and date. Your appointment date can only be issued within 3 days of your intended travel except you need to apply for a visa after securing the passport. In this case, they can give an appointment date within a week of intended travel.

However if they already mentioned there isnt any date available before 1st december in ATL then you need to move your ticket forward and try and call to book another appointment. In addition, you dont need the passport to travel back to Nigeria. You can use ETC (Emergency Travel Certificate ) and you apply for baby's passport in US embassy in Nigeria upon your return..

Hope this helps.
