How do you define good? good to who? All Muslims are good people. However, they do not need to conform to your own standard of goodness. Muslims are humans too, with blood flowing. The moment you accept Islam, you accept to be good. You should be more concerned why less than 1,000 Muslims make the news whereas 99% of the Muslims who practise their religion are never in the news. |
Owanlen: Quite agree with you on some points. I'm very proud of the Nigerian army myself but I think tactics and training in warfare nowadays prioritize on the lose no soldier approach. No doubt, the NA will go in there and kick those militants butts but how may will return? This may be an already accepted fate for the NA but is not acceptable as an international standard. Yes no doubt with appropriate training and equipment the NA will come back victorious with every soldier accounted for.I agree with you we may not be at the top in terms of 'avoiding casualties'. But I have to remind you that not many countries in the world can boast of tactical ground troops like Nigerian Army. Forget all those shakara images you see on CNN of oyinbo soldiers. They have mastered the art of surveillance and air control, but they get caught out on ground patrols even with air cover . Over time, it has been proven that air battles never affect ground battles. The Malian rebels have no fighter jets, but they have deadly Ghaddaffi weapons. Weapons that are capable of holding even Nigeria to a warfare for months! I would really love to see a video of our fighter jets actually dropping some akara on some desert congregation of rebels. |
Blyss: I'll admit that they made a lot of improvement, but they still got some way to go. Look at this ignorant foolishness, would you call this being professional? What exactly is childish in this? You are obviously not familiar with the word 'morale'. These soldiers are some of the world's finest. They are brave, gallant and very tactful. You do not need to be white to be good, in fact, I make bold to say that in an open combat in the deserts of Mali, our troops stand a better chance than the French. I read the guardian article last week and could only laugh. It is filled with gross inaccuracies and some outright lies. The Nigerian Army is perhaps the ones going to do the dirty jobs of smoking the rebels in Mali. The French CANNOT do much on ground. They cannot win an open battle with the rebels. Nigeria may be bad, but we're not as bad as the article painted. Our military has quietly been upgrading and I was impressed that we used our own troop carrier, sending 2 fighter jets also. Many people make silly comparisons with Boko Haram. Boko Haram is an enemy within, guerilla in approach, thus handicapping the soldiers trained to flush things out. In Mali, things are different. The only order the gallant soldiers need is to go in and kill. Leave the rest to the trusted AK47. |
The referee didnt turn up at all. |
This is hardcore chemical processing. Elf and safety thrown out of the window. It should never be like this. Shame on our leaders. Shame on the man from Otueke who has refused to help his own people. |
My dear sister, please ignore most of the comments from your fellow Christians here. They are mostly hypocritical. Some of them have denounced/rejected your Christianity. Others have said you're not well yoked, and they dont dress in omellette either. They have been fanatical even to the point of rejection. Such is the unfortunate intolerance amongst some Christians. I am a product of a Muslim/Christian marriage and I will not advice you against it. You endured 5 years of pain in the hands of your equally yoked Christian, and your fellow Christians are asking you to continue in this pain just to 'preserve your salvation'. You need to sit down and ask where your happiness fits in. Someone said Islam does not treat women right and does not respect women. I will use your story (and mine) as a rebuttal. Your Christian fellows have refused to consider your pains and happiness in their faith appeals. This is never done in Islam. I personally grew up with annoyingly intolerant maternal Uncles and cousins who come to our house and want to 'enforce' Christianity. They ask us to lose our eyes and pray to Jesus even in my dad's presence. The tolerance I learnt from my dad's action is what is helping me to date. You know what you see and like in this Muslim brother. You see his respect for you and your values. The ball is in your court. You do not need to convert to Islam by marrying him. My mother has been married for over 30 years now and is still not a Muslim. While she is closer to Islam than Christianity, no one ever forced a religion on her. She says 'inshaallah', recites suratul fathia, etc, simply because she has seen the work of Allah on her family. In Islam, there is no compulsion. You will see the beauty in it and join because of that. No matter how others try to portray it otherwise, the truth is with those close to Muslims. |
UPDATE: Super Eagles beat Farense 5-0 in their last warm up match. Mikel scored a penalty. IK Uche scored a hatrick, Emenike scored final goal. Not too bad going to SA. Hope we win our last warm up game against Angola. |
I believe we will easily qualify for quarter final. From there, it's about luck and hard work. Ethiopia and Burkina Faso are sure 3 pointers |
I didnt expect less from Dailymail. However, I think the young man just punched his way to Belmash prison. Best way to treat a racist is to just laugh at them. Turn the hurt back at them. That said, that lady is not British, she sounds like a Polish who's been learning English for 4 years. |
Kalistus Obare and Benjamin Alaiya are not fit to be commentators. Ben Alaiya is Eagles spokes man. |
Onazi out for Obiora Nwankwo. Team getting to real shape now. |

This kind of friendly is a real eye-opener. Nigeria is not ready for Nations Cup. We do not have a midfield. Players who bribed their way into the team have been exposed. |
Ogenyi Onazi =-1 for Nigeria. Efe Ambrose =-1. Nigeria playing with 9 men. |
Ejike better be taken out. Lets see Chigozie Agbim |
Finally a shot on target from Nigeria after 20 mins. Keshi should better review that list before midnight. This Onazi is not it at all. |

semid4lyfe: Cape Verde asking all the early questions and looking more purposefulBelieve it or not, it smells of T B Joshua and Amokachi link there. Player not good quality in all friendly matches played. |
Joseph Yobo not communicating well with the rest of the backline. Nigeria on the back-foot |
Oganyi Onazi clearly Bribed his way into this team. |
