the poor performance in the first half was due to poor communication as much as individual errors. the gaps in midfield was largely because the AMF/forwards were not moving in sync with the rest of the line. like Mikel pointed out... the team needs to communicate more so that they can attack and defend as s unit. at times it seems Mikel expected the back line to push up but the stayed back inviting pressure. .also head clashes.. they need to sort this out before the mundial kicks off.

I think poor performance was largely due to difference in formation. It terribly exposed Onazi.

England played 3-5-2, or 3-5-1-1, while we played a 4-4-1-1. Even our 4 midfielders were far from each other. It terribly exposed Onazi and Joel Obi's fitness levels. That was why we had some joy when Iwobi came infield to create from the midfield. That type of formation is going to be OK against Croatia because they also play the same way. We just need to make Mikel sit in the midfield and push maybe Iheanacho as the supporting striker. A midfield of Iwobi, Ndidi, Mikel, Moses will be enough to stabilise the team.

While in Nigeria, I noticed then around Ibadan to Ijebu Ode. I think it's the same route we're talking about.

The guys do their search very well. Unlike others who are there just there for the money. There are alot of police checkpoints along that route. They seem more educated compared to the Mopol on the road who couldn't read the Nigerian police xoxoxoxo unit on the vehicle. The officer bashed our vehicle with his gun making us to park. At that moment, others were like can't you see what's written on the vehicle and the officer could only pronounce the word police from write up.

I don't know how the Nigerian police deployed her officers but I have seen a whole squad of Mopol made up of educated officers with good kit but they're only deployed as escort for senior officers / special operations.

I think that route and a lot of Ogun state roads are smuggling hotspots. The CTU guys were a stand out from all the police check points there. I counted up to 19 police checkpoints on a 60km road. It was the CTU guys who were more thorough in searching the vehicle. When I was returning same day, I met the same team and they chatted really well based on recognision, but still searched us well.

The future is those CTU guys or at least MOPOLS should get similar training.

lol I met some NPF CTU guys on my way to Abeokuta from Ibadan. They were also collecting 50 naira. However, I was impressed by their intelligence and searching. I engaged some of them and they seemed to know what they were doing.
