The NFF clearly lack sound leadership or organisation to handle a sound youth development system. The worst thing was for the players to apologise. Somehow, they are trying to shift the blame on innocent 17 year olds. The coach, the team managers, NFF and Ayo Omidiran are the people who should be apologising.

This problem is easily solved by Nigerian law. If any farmer kills a cow, they should be made to pay the price of that cow plus extra to the herdsmen. If any herdsman leads cows to destroy a farm, they should pay. If herdsmen kill, they should be tried for murder. If they rape, try them for rape and give them lengthy sentence. By them time that law is strictly applied for 12 months, the bad people will be in prison and trust will develop between herders and farmers.

As it is now, the herdsmen seem super emboldened, and they have been showing this for the past 2 years. It must also be said that resident Fulanis are good people. It is the migrating ones that are deadly. Some of them are armed robbers on highways, as long as they have their AK47.

Well, the herdsmen are alleged to burn the lands AFTER the animals have fed on them. It is easier for fresh grass to grow after that. Fresh grass is available 2-3 weeks after burning the farm.

Something is not very clear here. They are complaining and the cows they complain of are right in their fronts still grazing. What does it take them to chase the bastards away from there? Though one young man said some of the cows belong to the ogas, so this matter is somehow interwoven.

Herdsmen have guns, they have no guns and they had been warned against violence.
This is the tricky bit for farmers. Most farmers are peaceful people who just want to live and let others live. In fact, most farming communities are the most peaceful.
In Oke-Ogun area, the farmers at one time started poisoning the leaves of their crops and many cows died. The herdsmen then started avoiding that area. If the government is not going to effectively curtail the herdsmen, then I am very sure the farmers will protect themselves effectively.

I come from a family of cocoa farmers and it is cocoa money that sent me abroad 1st time I travelled. I cannot imagine how herdsmen can destroy cocoa farm worth millions and no arrests are made.

If NFF truly does punish the players who were protesting, then they will break down and ruin the whole team. Players who didnt protest will be seen as snitches, while the new players brought in wont trust each other. NFF will not be able to handle the backlash.

The successful air strikes are part of the ongoing coordinated air and land operations aimed at ridding the Sambisa Forest of the remnants of the insurgents.

If we had a lift for white people only, and this thing happened, the whole world will shout racism. The audacity of our senators to begin segregating themselves from the common Nigerian is disturbing. They earn millions for doing nothing.

Some workers at the national assembly created a scene on Monday, after Biodun Olujimi, senator representing Ekiti south, allegedly asked her aide to assault a member of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).

The lawmaker was reportedly irked by the decision of the PASAN member to ride in an elevator with her.

The senator was on her way to the public hearing of the senate committee on petroleum downstream, investigating the N5 trillion subsidy payment to the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC).

Olujimi allegedly ordered her aide to slap the official. The national assembly staff immediately told members of PASAN who were holding a congress on the second floor of the new wing of the senate.

This caused an outrage as his colleagues stormed out of the congress in a bid to attack the lawmaker, who was scuttled to safety by her security guards.

“From today, I will start entering lift with senators. No senator will ever push me out,” a national assembly staff said in anger.

TheCable learnt that the parliamentary staff were holding the congress to embark on a strike.

Speaking with journalists after the incident, Olujimi vowed to take the matter up with the police.
