In summary... 1. Amber Amour is a 'feminist activist'. 2. She has a program called 'Stop Rape. Educate'. 3. She visited South Africa to educate 4. She met a man who pestered her for sex, but she refused. 5. She later fell ill and wanted a 'warm shower', so she went to the man's house. 6. She kissed him and got in a shower with him. 7. He raped her in the shower and she live blogged it immediately after. ...... Is this rape?? cc Mynd44 |
A feminist campaigner who claims she was raped by a man in a shower in South Africa chose to "live-blog" her traumatic experience "to give other victims the courage to speak out". Amber Amour, who is from New York, wrote a series of harrowing posts on Instagram following the alleged attack in the bathroom of a youth hostel. The 27-year-old uploaded a photograph of herself still sitting on the bathroom floor with tears streaming down her face, alongside a graphic and disturbing description of events. After agreeing to take a shower with a man, she says, because she'd spent two days being sick and "just really wanted a hot shower", he "forced me to my knees". "I said "stop!" but he just got more violent"," she wrote. "I asked him to stop, again, as I began to cry." She claims he raped her and she "passed out" - only to come round several minutes later, at which point he noticed she was awake and "came back to finish me off in the shower". After the ordeal, Ms Amour, who was in South Africa to promote her "Stop Rape. Educate" campaign, describes her feelings of "shame, disgust, suffering". She also relates the feelings of helplessness that can be experienced by rape victims. "I'm here, alone, and any DNA has been wiped away in the shower. The South African police will just roll their eyes when I walk in. Feel sicker than ever now." She posted two further pictures - including one of her at hospital with a "rape kit" in front of her knees. And while she acknowledges how gruelling it can be, she encourages other victims to speak out as she has. "Dealing with cops is tough and the rape kit is the last thing I want - tools and metal instruments and combs all up in my private parts...But this is what I stand for. "I tell you guys to speak up every single day and I know that I need to practice what I preach." She finishes with a message: "No matter what a person does, it is not an invitation for rape. "It doesn't matter if I kissed him. It doesn't matter if he was drunk. It doesn't matter if I said yes to a shower. "I never said he could get violent with me. I never said he could make me bleed. I never said he could rape me." She later spoke to Marie Claire about her decision to 'blog' about the alleged assault in real time. "I immediately knew that I couldn't keep what had happened a secret. So the first thing I did was take a picture and write a post, describing what had happened. "It was almost an intuitive thing. I was still in the bathroom - in the crime scene. I don't even think I'd stood up. I just typed and typed." Well, the world is coming to an end. As predicted, children will start to kill their parents. This singular act totally invalidates the Caliphate as prescribed by ISIS. |
Henry240:I noticed the flat tire at the presentation pictures too. The only positive we can take from this is that more goodies are coming. When you live on trash, you may hit gold one day. |
I read and reread the article and nowhere did I find the heading in it. Only a court can free Zakzaky, what the AGF asked was for the Muslim body to formalise their request in writing, nothing like releasing anybody. In any case, if Zakzaky is freed just like that, then it sets a bad precedence for the country and Buhari, that he can subvert the judicial process. |
Baba Buhari, a president to be proud of.. |
Well, Isa is of Nigerian mother, and Swedish dad (I guess). He is an innocent kid being used as a propaganda tool by the mum. Lewisham mosque hmmm. I attended a few times and realised there are many brothers with very little understanding of Islam, willing to learn, but not patient enough. At the last count, 10 of those brothers have either been killed or arrested. The latest PR guy for ISIS is also from Lewisham. I will advice Nigerian government to silently place a ban on Anjem Choudary from ever entering Nigeria. All these small small boys running around calling themselves salafi this, salafi that, are the type that Anjem pounces on. Lastly, Muslims should seek knowledge from the right source. Facebook, twitter, and even Nairaland cannot be trusted sources of knowledge. The number of scholars is diminishing greatly, with new facebook scholars emerging by the day. |
If Nigerians see the real Jesus in picture, 99% of them will deny him. This European good is a joke of what Jesus looks like. Complete opposite. |
So reps can no preempt or overrule the judiciary. The case is in court, let it take its course. |
Money40:Narrow minded you! You must think presidents of the world give a rats arse about Biafra or Nnamdi Kanu. Look at Zakzaky that even has Iranian presidents number and full backing, he is prison as we speak. Nnamdi Kanu's whole support comes from few igbo shop boys and some social media warriors. Any serious president will neutralise every threat to his country as soon as possible. For Kanu, it took 6 months. |
asorocker:If Kanu has not done unlawful things, the whole country will be calling for his release. As you heard from Buhari, treasonable felony hands on Nnamdi's neck. Also, he came into the country with no passport, he will answer to that as well. |
Nnamdi Kanu, Zakzaky, Dasuki, etc will almost surely remain in prison throughout Buhari's tenure. Nnamdi Kanu's lawyers better start buying land, because they will build mansions if Kanu continues to go to court. |
Nnamdi Kanu is gone! Buhari did not mince words about it. So, for those expecting him to be released, forget it. Its official. |
Buhari has not addressed the forex issue. I suspect Baba is embarrassed by the outrage and will quietly go back to ease the policy. |
The relevant authorities have addressed the issue. The Kaduna state governor gave a state broadcast. Thats enough. There's nothing Buhari wants to say that the Kaduna state governor has not said. |
This has never happened in the history of my great country. People returning stolen funds willingly! If Buhari continues at this pace, decorum will soon return to Nigeria. Only when the water is still, can we start planning actual development. |
Press TV and IHRM are both bloo.dy Iranian propaganda tools. Initially, they said over 6000 people have died, amongst other lies. They have also used many terms to describe our military live on Press TV, all in the name of defending the lawlessness of the Shia members. |
The whole clash was scary in the level of fanatism displayed. I really fear for the North. Their politicians have over the years exploited their genuine religious nature, so much that they have been exploited by people in the name of religion. We have people who seem to have forgotten that they are inside a sovereign multireligious nation. The spox of Shiaa movement exemplified this on national TV. He was so adamant on breaking the law, so much that he even cited a previous governor's humiliation in their hands. Even the most militant and civil disobedient person down south wouldnt be that daring to the authorities. |
My dear brother Onyocha, the road incidence to me is the biggest incidence. The spox for Shiaas was adamant on National TV that they have rights to block roads. Not once did he admit wrong in blocking the road. The incidence that happened afterwards was just mass suicide by people who formed a civilian shield against zakzaky to prevent his arrest. Any Nigerian can be arrested, and no one should be above the law. In all these, the blame lays majorly on zakzaky. He could have reigned on his stubborn fanatical followers to leave the road, and made himself available to authorities for prosecution. |
This is a video by the Nigerian army spox, the same man who was brave enough to first try to talk to the Shia. He was the one painstakingly begging them. He begged them in Allah's name to just let the convoy pass. This is the first hand account https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZDOya0DQkQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VattgG8IRD8 |
hakanai:The myth of peaceful procession has been quashed by these videos. There is nothing peaceful in people weilding machetes, cutlasses and even clubs. |
A few inferences from the videos going around: 1. The Shias were not peaceful. They clearly refused pacifications by the Nigerian army spokesman (who risked his life in approaching them). 2. The Nigerian army DID NOT set out on that day to kill Shias. 3. The video released by the Shia on this post is even exonerating the army. The soldiers can be seen guarding the road in order to let the COAS pass. 4. The attack on the Hussainiya is being investigated by the army. 5. The death of people is very sad and unfortunate. We can only pray for the families grieving 6. It will be very hard to nail the Nigerian army on the cross, with the videos released so far...unfortunately. Moving forward, Shias should stop blocking roads and constituting a law unto themselves. This entails all religious sects too (including RCCG on Lagos-Ibadan expressway). Mr Zakzaky should henceforth reign on his followers to respect the Nigerian law. If they are not comfortable with the Nigerian law vis a vis Shia practices, I suggest they should all apply for Iranian visas and citizenship. |
DONSMITH123:Speaker's been sacked as well. |
So who will be governor in Rivers pending the bye-election? |
As a Muslim, I must be truthful all the time. It was a completely avoidable event. The Shiite brothers must recognize that Nigeria as an entity is multifaceted, multireligious, and multiethnic. We should all learn to practice our religion within the laws of the country we are. They had no rights to block the major roads in any town. If every religion did that, there will be chaos everywhere. The general who spoke with the Shiites in the video was very very matured. He shed his powers to try to reason at the level of an ordinary Nigerian citizen. Imagine it was a pregnant woman on the way to hospital, or an injured accident victim being rushed to hospital. You simply cannot block the road like that. I watched PressTV try to rubbish the whole incident with falsehoods and one sided stories. A pity they went so much overboard that they became liars. Securitywise, it is very very unsafe for the convoy of the COAS to be held up. He escaped ambush recently by BH, and anyone in that crowd could have intentions to attack the COAS and actually carry out the threat. I believe the Iranians condemning the army will not really tolerate Ayatollah Khomeini's convoy being held up in a hostile environment. |
This is hammer blow for BH. No more territories, no more fear, people's lives back to normal. BH has been boxed to a few km inside Sambisa. December deadline met! |
Osimhen will be at London Colney tomorrow to meet with Arsenal officials. http://metro.co.uk/2015/11/22/arsenal-in-transfer-talks-to-sign-striker-victor-osimhen-report-5517912/ |
