The little ones that has been alocated to them how well have they managed it compare the infrastructural projects of state governments between north and south and see, remember the likes of ibori, decentralize finance and watch the south balkanize themselves so every body can have their pocket share leaving an ordinary man with nothing.
It use to be 45% before, look it cost more to build roads and some infastructures in the South South areas.this is how countries are developing ,you cannot centralize everything ,it's increasing poverty and increasing corruption and instability.hoow can you make money here and go and build another place with the money.the money is shared a cording to number of states and local governments, and you have created more local governments for yourselves to receive more money and people producing the wealtj get less money ,because they have less local and state government .

That is why we need people that can make deals in the National assemblies.. Concessions need to happen else the status quo will remain the same.. We have abt 17 southern states with equal numbers of reps n senators. They need to make deals that will help their region.
Seems difficult and a waste of time, does people are very tactical and you will watch them.the best thing is do what Lagos is doing,it is developing is own port ,lekki deep sea and badagry ports and a freetrade zone, people will ship to a port with the best facilities and personals including infastructures. You can employ the citizens of the states to work there without quota system nonense.Lekki airport is also same strategy.

I’m an Igbo Nigerian. I was born in the north. I schooled in the south. I worked briefly in the west and now I live in Europe. I’ve never in my entire life been given to tribal sentiments. Buhari and co have said that giving us a free state is not negotiable, why then can’t the Igbo man be allowed to conduct his business in peace? Why is there so much hostility and disunity in Nigeria? Why can’t we love and work together for the greater good of our fatherland? If I can own a shop in the UK and have no problem, why should my own business be at risk in my own country? What do we teach our kids by these. Seun and all the MODs here are some of the most despicable people I’ve seen in my entire life. Make Nairaland a hate free zone. Delete every single comment that ridicules others. A great Nigeria starts with us. I am downcast and sad. Why so much hate for each other, what is wrong with the black manhuh?
Even in the u k can you tell an English man,,that London is a no-man's-land?it's belongs to English people, Scotland belongs to Scottish, northern Ireland ,Irish,Wales , welsh.same here Lagos belongs to some people

Serious 419.. This is up to the legislators.. They need to make laws that will enable the states to share in the revenue from those ports if restructuring is not going to work...

Unfortunately, those legislooters are not interested in making such laws rather they are interested in things that will enrich them further.
The pailament is lopsided with a section of the country dominating the assembly,so no reasonable bills normally pass in the house,so restructuring can't take place.start from the airport customs to the ports ,a section of Nigeria dominate the work place.so they will protect this system forever.the head of the port is a young lady also from a section of the country.its been this way for many years.

Most of those goods are designated for Nigeria.. So Nigeria can strangle all of that traffic easily if they want to... So we need to work on all our ports and develop a comprehensive rail networks so that goods can move seamless across the country.
We need competition, fiscal federalism ,to enable speed in infastructure, development, education etc..

I agree that other ports are needed. Like the Calabar one that you mentioned should be deepened and road/rail networks worked on. The state gov can approach the FG on partnership that would see them develop this port.. No one will ship to a place with bad roads or places where they cannot easily get out their goods.

Time to start getting these state govs to be proactive in managing some of their resources.
We need to restructure the country, all money generated at the ports belongs to federal and not states.in a regional system the money made will belong to the region. All money collected in apapa and tincan ports belongs to the federal government, this is 419.

Why Kaduna....Most of the containers coming in...are mostly going to South and east!!!!!
You also need a dry port with connections to ports near you including a freetrade zone.its your governors that can help you people with that,Lagos has lekki port, badagry port, ondo etc

other ports in West Africa and central Africa are competing with Nigeria,Togo now has the busiest port a with a population of 8million ,but a large % is coming to Nigeria.so other ports are needed .

The east really needs this development more than the north but oga there is a deliberate effort to frustrate the igbos that's the plan of the APC govt. ..have u seen any concrete project going on in the East? The fact is APC govt seems to have an agenda to divide the country.

How can one state serve the whole country in terms of shipping ports when we have warri and onitsha which are supposed to be fully functional...that's why lagos state brag about high IGR I don't feel suprised...even at that they can't maintain the port go to apapa u will be left with unanswered questions as to what are they using the funds generated from the port for...
South East is land locked and the onne port in South South is the deepest sea port Nigeria, but yet the ships are not coming to that seaport.

Guy do u stay in Lagos at all? Lagos that there is no road? Pot holes everywhere from gbagada to bariga, sattelite town, VI, Lekki. pls apart from lekki express way tell me where you have good roads in Lagos. The problem is that most people that talk about Lagos don't stay. I mean if thugs are clapping for tinubu I understand but not working class people who pay tax and get little or nothing. All the major bridges built in Lagos were done so by the military govt (3rd mainland, carter, Simpson etc) all the major sporting infrastructures were still built by FG (onikan stadium, teslim Balogun, surulere) pls tell me any major public facility that LASG has built since 1999 till date. See the beat governor of Lagos is Lateef Jakande. He was a real Yoruba leader.
You have failed to understand the difference between federal roads and states roads in Lagos .

The real decision makers in the North are the millions of street urchins that have been indoctrinated with the supremacy of the North and Islam and how Yoruba muslims are fake. That's why they don't not allow Yoruba Imams lead prayer in their mosque. Tell me how they can vote a Yoruba Muslim let alone a Yoruba pastor president over a Tambuwal or Kwankwaso? You see the misery awaiting your guys?
The elites remain the decision makers, the electorates can be easily influenced.its a fedual system over there. The decision of a fedual Lord is taken seriously.

The biggest threat to the country's is not even vote rigging, but politics of zoning and ethnicity.
Until we stop voting on that basis we shall continue to have sectional and ineffective presidents like Buhari.
I disagree with that assertion because you must have a proper census figure, and reorganization of the country and a new fire proof ,fraud proof, rigproof electoral act which should include digital voting.if not it will be impossible for southerners to win easily.

Bla bla bla. Lagos is a federal land, not Yoruba land. You are making noise about crime, so Igbos who own businesses that you are envying in Lagos do not obey the laws of the land like you are stupidly claiming. So Igbos are the ones trading human skulls in Lagos abi?
You have no sense in that your head at all at all and its a Shame. You keep hopping from place to place looking for points to validate your hate for Igbos. Igbos live in Lagos and work very hard to make a living and they mind their business but you hate them and feel threatened yet you fool will like to travel out of the country and be allowed freedom on the basis of you obeying the laws of the land right? but when Igbos obey the law of the land in Lagos you still hate them and tell them to go to the East out of jealousy cos of a singular reason they want to dominate you, while you fools also want to dominate in Nigerian politics. Hypocrite.
Once we return to regional and you return to your position the crime rate and criminals will reduce by 90%

Shut up Cadbury never developed Lagos. Lagos was developed by the Federal Government as it's longest serving capital. Then the commercial boom was made possible by the Igbo's who have kept the seaports busy from time immemorial till date . Stop talking jargon, I dont even know when you were born, you don't seem to even know Lagos too well.
You have no access to the sea and no land boder with any country, you are land locked,so you must take other people,s land ijaw land, uorobo land, edoland, ibibios land so you can have a access.which yupe of system will you use to govern?you don't speak the same language and you are not the same people.the system you are running away from Nigeria, you want to use the system in biafra, after which you break the system, such has what you did in Nigeria.

Don't be ignorant, govt needs money to develop infastructure and when you come here to invest you pay corporate taxes.the companies pay cutoms duties and excerice duties,VAT and build infastructure and add to the GDP,Lagos is the 5th largest economy because of its GDP
