Travel › Lagos-london Route, N150, 000 To N450, 000 by olas24u(op): 1:49pm On Mar 24, 2016
Stakeholders in the travel industry have raised alarm over the astronomical increase in airfares charged by foreign airlines, which according to them have gone up by more than 150 per cent.

Besides, they alleged that the airlines are abusing and exploiting the present forex regime in the country.

The National Financial Secretary of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), Mrs Ngozi Ngoka, who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders, cited the example of the airfare for the economy class for the Lagos-London route, which has allegedly increased from about N150, 000 to about N450, 000.

Yea yea....the blood is not in your hands....we know. But why not charge them d least you can? Someone will b admitted for one day and d doctor will be callin 50k bill. Is that fair? When you see a patient and d people that accompanied him/her then u can guess how rich or poor they are. If u observe they're not well to do, then charge exactly what u'll need to treat them without thinking of gains. Cos wen d bill is so high, the person wont even know where to start from.
You can make ur money off the rich ones....nobody will blame u for that
So they should be given fake medication?.if he gives the lowest grades of the drugs the patient will die 12 times over.it is against the ethics of the profession to cheat ,if he does that and they discover ,you will not defend him.

Health insurance is the only way out .But really Nigerians don,t value health. We have corrupt government officials killing millions every day by stealing money meant for upgrade of facilities .We export humans to India for medical treatment and they pay hospital bills and hotel fees and feeding including transportation that benefits the economy of that country and they take away foreign exchange from Nigeria.Dudu
Properties › Europe Biggest Floating Solar Farm Launched In UK by olas24u(op): 3:10pm On Mar 23, 2016
The sun is our most important source of renewable energy. But unfortunately, we haven’t really gotten around to finding a cheap and reliable way of converting that energy into enough electricity for all of us. However, Britain says it has the perfect solution for that.

The country has just finished building a floating solar farm, the first of its kind in Europe. The gigantic facility floats on a reservoir southwest of London. There are more than 23,000 solar panels floating on top of the water here, covering an area the size of eight football pitches.

It has been built to supply energy to a Thames Water treatment plant nearby the reservoir. And it is expected to provide electricity for roughly 1,800 homes. http://www.presstv.com/Detail/2016/03/23/457160/UK-floating-solar-farm-Lightsource/
it depends on the individuals state of mind & proficiency not just their speciality. Maybe Soludo was a bit concern of our economy and there was a flexible government by then. [/colo

Obasonjo supported soludo ,without his support those bankers were not sure of the 25billion minimum capital back then,Yar adua supported sanusi, and some big bankers were questioned cecilia ibrua, erastus akingbola, etc.
people dont work individually here in Nigeria to succeed.change is difficult and you will never get the support at the initial stages.

I disagree with you on this.
all the huge profits are actually coming from developing or lending money to small scale industries or factories ?soludo was an economist and impacted something ,this guy is a friend to the bankers and they are all working together for profits

Bankers don,t make good governors of central banks in Nigeria ,they are all cultist discussing and fixing prices to be charged Nigerians and the banks are not competing but discussing and working together on how to fleece Nigerians.

Agriculture › Nigeria’s Kano Factory Revealed As The Provider Of Louis Vuitton’s Leather by olas24u(op): 5:46am On Mar 14, 2016
Ms Whitehead took a few shots of the establishment, which is owned by Igbo businessman Chief Koffy Ndubuisi Udeagha, captioning her Twit-pic;

“This is God’s Little Tannery, one of Kano’s last surviving leather tanneries. It supplies Louis Vuitton”

Garnering over 1,000 retweets, word of the factory spread fast, with one question arising: How is it that Nigeria can make such wondrous products and supply a global brand like Vuitton, yet struggle to sell such products internationally and create its own brands with the same magnitude?

Business › “A Banks Man: Expect Higher Charges With Godwin Emefiele As New CBN Gov.” by olas24u(op): 9:14am On Mar 01, 2016
Charges including:

Stamp charge

Customers pay N10-50 per sms alert, even for bank error repeat texts; though bulk sms texts are offered to businesses by mobile networks at N1/sms.
Hardware token for security is issued at N2000 ($12);
Bank statements are charged at about N40/page;
Renewal ATM card is issued at a charge of N1000 ($6);
N500 monthly maintenance fee for current accounts ($3);
First Bank and Keystone Bank even have a N100 monthly ATM card maintenance fee!
You have the Value added tax—lol at “value.”
Even reference letters are fulfilled at a charge of up to N2000 ($12). Compare this to America for instance, where banks do not make money on COT, deposits or withdrawals and most of these additional bank services are offered for free to customers.
Read this article on ENDS.ng: “CBN: The Poverty In Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s Legacy.”
ENDS warned about Godwin Emefiele when Jonathan first appointed him in February of last year, that being a banker/banks man, expect him to lock us helpless masses in Guantanamo prisons while the banks, cabal and government officials bloat on our misery. Read that on ENDS.ng: “A Banks Man: Expect Higher Charges with Godwin Emefiele as New CBN Gov.”

How exactly does he want to curb 'excess liquidity'? FG is the biggest spender in Nigeria and anytime it witholds funds the whole econmy bleeds! Where is the excess? Nigeria just simply needs to earn more by producing to scale, by taking risks to enhance its earnings within and without, through promotion of private enterprise.
Dont you get it ?the money does not reach the real sector ,you can never produce and can never become an exporter of goods because you will not have money to do it .The money is not sinking down to the public that wants to borrow and build companies and produce .

Technology Market › Tesla Unveils A Battery To Power Your Home, Completely Off Grid by olas24u(op): 1:51pm On Feb 22, 2016
CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, landed an official message unveiling the Powerwall, a battery designed to power your home. The message came at a convention center powered completely by renewable battery power.

The battery unit itself contains the same batteries present in the Tesla electric cars. The 7kWh unit will ship for $3,000, while the 10kWh unit will go for $3,500 (get the big one). They will store electricity from the grid or from solar and wind generators on site and if the grid goes down, they will continue to power your home indefinitely This feature makes them ideal for developing nations that are leap-frogging power grids completely.

Musk refers to it as changing the “entire energy infrastructure of the world.”

Rightly said. But guess what? The system itself is so bad that even the youths have been corrupted. And to correct this ill, a multifaceted approach should be incorporated by all and sundry.
The old men would never give way if the young ones don't prove their worth in terms of character and deeds in whatever capacity.
That said, truth is we can't completely do away with our experienced men and women in politics; the youths still need the elderly to play some vital roles.
If you are not given an opportunity ,how will you get experience?And the politicians are bringing their children and trying to create dynasties.let the old people go first.

First that every man shall marry at least two women and the man who refuses to do so shall be subjected to life imprisonment with hard labour.

“The woman who tries to prevent her husband from marrying another wife shall be punished to life imprisonment,” alleges the activists in their translation.

And Kenyans have reacted to these announcements with bemusement with some suggesting if they could change their citizenship immediately and take advantage of the new laws in the country.

“At this rate, I can see the Eritrea Government spreading new embassy outlets in Kakamega, Embu, Siaya and Busia counties to help hasten visa processing,” said one Kenyan on facebook.

The definition of entrepreneurship in Nigeria and the expectations are wrong and unrealistic,secondly small business suffer a lot from the external environment in which they cannot control and also the internal environment which affects you, while you try to grow the business .The government agencies work against you and they are not for you and they are not for government.If does Asians create opportunities for them selves here ,then we are really doing something wrong .
