anything that will swamp Yorubaland should not be encouraged o.

things are bad enough as it is, with the southwest getting the lion's share of immigration and land related problems.

If folks insist on pushing this bill, their own states o.

if someone doesn't like their state of origin, why is it my fault? huh
The revenues will increase in the southwest ,don,t you think, more tax payers will be captured

We don't need that at all we just need to live in peace & stop arrogant act I love igbos than my brothers but stopping indigeneship. It can never happen
yoruba

Its a welcome development and you will have the right to so many things, it is integration and we can follow it up with infrastructure also, having a railway that can get to another part of the country in an hour,it is part of integration ,you can live in enugu and get to lagos with fast train in few hrs. This is how we can unite ourselves,If you allow me to marry your brother ,when you insult me ,you are indirectly grin insulting us including your family. grin

You said Nigeria needs an official language and if you read and understood that comment you'll have read the part that said "It's a pity that the colonial masters formed Nigeria (African countries) the way they did, grouping major tribes(people with different identities) together."

The European countries that were multilingual have since dis-integrated and are more peaceful....

If English wasn't Nigeria's official language a South Easterner/Southerner, northerner and foreigners would have to learn how to speak Yoruba fluently before they can school or work in the SW and Yorubas too would need to learn their languages if they want to move out of SW...

The recent sacking of some Virgin Nigeria staffs defends my argument.... they were sacked because Nigerians speak English and since English is British why not just bring British staff.... they didn't sack india and others because of the language barrier...
I think many African countries especially Nigeria are being short changed in the airline industry ,what you have described above is not about language but creating jobs for the citizens of another country in our country. Its possible in Nigeria because foreigners oppress Nigerians a lot at the work place etc :imagine having and efficient Nigerian airways .

Read this wise comment:
I did not really get your argument but the Nigerian federation is a fake one and its faulty ,A real federation with separate laws and policies can also help you has a Yoruba man in your province ,region etc.Example is security ,the police man that will guard your area will probably speak and understand you and know all the criminals.

I think that move or policy intended to be implement is to frustrate Biafra's struggle for self-determination.
This self determination does not make sense and you need to just get it ,you people will be land locked and will engage in cross border crimes into Nigeria. You cannot have absolute advantage of any product, and need Nigeria and other neighbors.why dont you just think of a true federation.

I don't understand. There are no laws saying you can't do any of the things you have said above.
well the integration program that i know about use to be NYSC and Nigerians are more divided than before and you can divide Nigerians in 5mins if you want to when you meet with them .How many Nigerian languages do you speak?Do you have friends from all over Nigeria.some Nigerians cannot marry other Nigerians because of cultural beliefs. We need an official language that will include the major languages spoken in Nigeria apart from English. It will be compulsory for you to speak ,read with the language of your country. The CRK and IRK divides students from secondary school.

Perfect! Just perfect!

As much as I support this, Nigeria is too fragile for this!... Our various ethnic groups can't even stand each other... how do they hope to make it work?

Cos this means A Northerner can go become a governor in the east, an easterner in the west, A westerner in the north and so on!

Tribalism will so increase cos peoples will now have this zeal to look out for their tribesmen if they feel they are being Dominated "in their own land"!
Integration is a gradual process and this is a welcome development that can unite our country.Next step is language and marriage, every Nigerian should be able to speak 1 out of the 3 major languages and i should be able to marry any man from any part of Nigeria ,we can do this by breaking the cultural barriers.

Do you also know that Northern elders and western nation, like u.s.a also contributed in this mess. When the former administration applied for the purchase of weaponry from them and other European nation, they blocked it.The northern elders, including buhari, didn't help matters. They complained that jonathan wanted to wiped the whole northerners from existence. All this weakened the fight against bokoharam.
lol!can that be true ,when did they say that GEJ wanted to wipe them out ,who?quote and send the link of the person please. It is not only America that can sell weapons ,so internal and external factors contributed. The internal are just corrupt and greedy and the external will like Nigeria divided into smaller units.

Where is the evidence against others that are being invited and detained by efcc?
If you are human ,you will calculate the defence budget over the years and see if their was correlation between increased budget for defence and the security situation and number of dead people. That alone is enough evidence to the public unless you don,t want to see anything

Dasukigate is a very big crime to humanity, they were distributing money while people were being bombed, not 1,2,3 , thousands of people ,can you build a country that way with short sighted leaders using money for mansions and good life instead of investing in people and country

I just came from my nairaland sabbatical (thanks to seun) to post this here briefly. I want to specifically comment on Peter obi. To all those who keep pretending peter obi is not a power hungry attention seeking corrupt politician, I hope they can justify this his move. Obi will do anything albeit deceptively to be around power. I just wish Ngige accepted him into APC before disgracing him finally. Also let me make it known to obaino that any attempt by him to join APC will consign him to a one term governor. I noticed he is becoming desperate for second tenure. Like how he rescinded his ban on okada. We are watching. We shall never allow APC in igboland. Ekwunife is a non issue.
And you want appointments to federal levels .How do you intend to achieve that with the cry of marginalization since Buhari started his government

malaysia was colonized by britian but yet they are a successfull nation with good infastructure and economy.
Southkorea adopted US capitalism and democracy with the help of US after the korean war and now they are one of the biggest world economy. Japan mordernised during occupation by US forces after world war 11 and it transformed it to a successfull nation.
many countries are practising whiteman's religeon and culture and they are successfull or are making progress.singarpore, hongkong, middle east nations most colonized by britain.
so US will prefer to fight a toothless country like Nigeria. when they are helping to build economic rivals like Southkorea,
it does not make sense.
Africa is backward becos of low IQ not white people.

Though Namdi Kanu broke the law, he should be released and promised arrest and immediate detention should he set foot in Nigeria again. Emotion has blinded everyone to any objectivity right now and nothing can be gained further by keeping him in detention. Nigeria should work exile as a means of punitive action in the constitution.
The penalty is death!

Buhari says Nigeria is broke! He said he inherited a very bad economy from GEJ and that there was so much rot in the last system.
However, the IMF president (managing director) said the state of the economy does not require IMF intervention. Infact, she said the economy is far better than it was 4 years ago when she last visited .
What does this message tell Nigerians?
Considering the fact that Buhari has not really made any economic policy since he assumed office, it means that those who managed the economy before he came on board, did a very good job!

.
so you think and believe anything that comes out ?They are guarded statements, nobody can really say what they have discussed .but its not a good discussion.

Says who? Don't let them catch you. tongue We were told the man was judged and sentenced based on Sharia law and you're here saying the sentence is not justified in the Koran undecided
What type of Koran are you reading? embarassed
the judge lacks knowledge in Islamic jurisprudence and its political, something is happening or about that happen in that part of Nigeria, because they are dividing the Muslims in the north and recognizing only a sect as the original ,its programmed even the judge should be ashamed to to other the killing in the name of religion.
