Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Bala Mohammed, who is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has taken ill. He was taken to the clinic arm of the anti-graft agency on Friday where medical personnel attended to him. It was gathered that owing to the fact that Mohammed’s health condition worsened, he was allowed to see doctors at the EFCC facility. The nature of the illness is still unknown at the moment, The Sun reports. Sources said the embattled former minister returned from medical treatment abroad few days before going to honour EFCC invitation. Before travelling abroad, it was gathered that Mohammed had undergone surgery at the National Hospital, Abuja. He has since fulfilled his bail condition after the court had asked him to produce two directors in the civil service, one of who must own a landed property in the FCT to stand surety for him. However, the EFCC is yet to release him despite meeting bail conditions. In a related development, Dr. Reuben Abati, ex-senior Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Media, former Nigerian ambassador to Ghana, Musliu Obanikoro and former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, continued to get solidarity visits yesterday in custody. Among those who visited them were Senator Jeremiah Useni, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, former Minister of Culture; Ambassador Iliya Damagua, Chief John Dara; Hon HilaruIlea, Hon Salisu Ningi and Aremo Adekunle Alao. Others are Chief Babatunde Ajala and Jonathan Asaka of the Christian Information Network http://dailypost.ng/2016/11/04/bala-mohammed-breaks-efcc-custody-rushed-hospital/?utm_source=dlvr.it_dp1&utm_medium=facebook |

The dethroned Miss Anambra 2015, Chidinma Okeke, is in more trouble. Information from Awka, Anambra State, said current trending video online is mild and alleged that Chidinma Okeke also engaged in more acts which lasted over one hour. A source said the whole episode is as a result of a deal gone wrong. The deal reportedly involved her and one ‘chief’. “First, this is an investment gone wrong. Chief (name not disclosed) sponsored Chidinma Okeke to win the pageant. Chief spent up to N 2million to ensure she emerged as the winner against other beautiful contestants,” a source told Vanguard. “Chief also budgeted for her wardrobe and makeover pre and post beauty contest. The money was released to Miss Anambra. Chief also took her to various countries including Germany where she met other models based on the contract terms which Miss Chidinma signed with Chief. “Part of the agreement stipulates that Chief would make her a big model and whatever proceeds that come during her reign would be shared as specified in the contract terms. Chidinma consented and signed the deal.” The source insisted that Chidinma Okeke was in the mess because the former beauty queen reneged on their agreement after her victory. “Chidinma emerged as the winner of Miss Anambra, got higher connections and wanted to opt out from the contract without repaying all the expenses Chief incurred. Chief warned of the consequences, but she remained adamant. “Chief released a picture to her, requesting she comply with the payment and remit the money she is holding before her tenure comes to an end. Chidinma feigned ignorance and even boasted that Chief cannot do anything”, the source said. http://dailypost.ng/2016/10/29/miss-anambra-new-one-hour-raw-video-chidinma-okeke-may-surface/# |

The Presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari comment to journalists about his wife 'belonging to the kitchen ... and the other room' was only a 'banter'. Earlier on the president while fielding questions from journalists in Germany about his wife, Aisha Buhari's controversial BBC's interview said that “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.” The Presidency spokesman, Garba Shehu in an effort to clarify the president comment which has long gone viral said that "He was obviously throwing a banter." Garba in a series of tweets said "My friends, can't a leader get a sense humour anymore? Mr. President laughed before that statement was made. Politics sometimes should be spiced with humour. Those of us close to him knows there is never a dull moment with him. Mr. President respects the place of women in our society. He believes in the abilities of women. One of Nigeria's most sensitive office today is headed by a woman, Mrs. Adeosun. This is an evidence of the confidence he reposes on women." My friends, can't a leader get a sense humour anymore? What would have been a heroic welcome for the victorious Super Eagles was yesterday morning thwarted by gun-wielding security operatives who opened fire in a failed attempt to arrest Shehu Dikko at Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja. Dikko, who is the chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) and a member of the Nigerian delegation, was in the midst of the returning players and officials. The players had defeated Zambia 2-1 in a first game of the last qualifying series for the Russia 2018 World Cup. The members of the Super Eagles were forced to hurriedly leave the Abuja airport when security operatives started shooting into the air to scare away football fans who rose to resist the arrest of Dikko. The men in mufti, who said they were officers from the Jos Police Command, did not present anything to show they were actually who they claimed to be. The national team flew into the Abuja airport aboard a chartered Arik aircraft late Sunday night and were about to begin their journey to town when the security operatives swooped on the delegation in search of Dikko, whom they claimed had been committed to prison for contempt by a Jos High Court. On sighting Dikko, the operatives made a move to arrest him, but they met stiff resistance from members of the delegation to Zambia, including the club chairmen, state football associations’ bosses, journalists and football fans. Seeing that their mission was about to be thwarted, the operatives started shooting into the air, forcing everybody within the vicinity to scamper for safety. But they could not arrest Dikko, who was smuggled out of the airport by some Nigerian football stakeholders. Speaking on the incident, Dikko said he was surprised by the action of the operatives, who he claimed defied an existing order by the Court of Appeal for the warrant of arrest to be suspended until the determination of the case at the appellate court. The Guardian learnt that Monday’s incident was not the first time security operatives had tried to forcibly execute the arrest order on Dikko. “Recently, some men, who claimed to be security operatives stormed Dikko’s house and held his family at gunpoint when they could not find him at home. “A member of Dikko’s family recently raised the alarm over alleged attempts on the life of the Kaduna-born sports administrator,” a football official, who pleaded anonymity, said. Dikko and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LMC, Salihu Abubakar, were recently sentenced to two weeks in prison for contempt by the Federal High Court in Jos, which was irked that the league body disobeyed its order to reinstate Giwa FC to the Nigeria Professional Football League and reschedule all its matches. Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has hailed the Super Eagles, saying their away victory over Zambia at the weekend was not only tonic for Nigeria at a time like this, but a confidence booster that the indomitable Nigerian spirit was well and alive. He said it was a sign of good things to come, urging the team not to rest on its oars till it eventually qualifies for the global soccer fiesta. “This is but the first step in a long journey. However, that step has been well taken. An away victory at this level, in which the stakes are quite high, is remarkable. The ultimate is to qualify for Russia 2018, and fly Nigeria’s flag alongside those of other giant soccer-playing nations. I look forward to that, and I urge the team and their handlers to always keep their eyes on the ball,” Buhari said. http://m.guardian.ng/sport/security-operatives-disrupt-heroic-welcome-for-super-eagles/ |
There is nothing wrong in arresting a criminal judge. Or is any idiot above the law in this country? People are being arrested everyday for various purposes and nobody makes noise about it. And by the way what was Wike's interest there? And why was he trying to obstruct justice? The idiot is lucky he met nice guys, they should have rough handled him and put him in the boot since he believes he can misbehave. It is only Nigeria that this kind of nonsense can happen and some so called educated people will be defending it. Our prejudices are making us foolish in this country. People these days in the name of politics and democracy are behaving and defending stupidity. When next any idiot tries to resist arrest or obstruct justice, they should discipline him or her. Enough of this nonsense. |

Dino Milaye lacks charisma of respresentative who shul b in upper legislature nor in d lower house as well. Ideal place for him is to hav become secretary of NURTW or unions of protesters, if any. His love for vintage vehicles perhaps indicate that h loves to live in d past, hence he is nonconformist. |
