When Tinubu goes to Mosque, he's worshiping God but when Peter Obi goes to Church, he's playing politics with religion. Something is truly wrong with some peoples brand of politics? Unfortunately APC has set in motion a precedence that has insulted the the democratic & religious sensitivity of Nigerians all in a DESPERATE move to remain in Power. |

Governor Nasir El-Rufai Governor Nasir El-Rufai By Daily Trust Wed, 27 Jul 2022 23:08:23 GMT Governor Nasir El-Rufai has threatened to sack all the Kaduna State University (KASU) who are currently observing the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike. ASUU has been on strike since February over the failure of government to meet their demands. Outrage as Gbajabiamila takes Harvard Course amid ASUU strike Police beef up security in Abuja as Labour solidarity protest with ASUU continues Several attempts to make the lecturers return to the classrooms have not yielded results. On Monday, labour unions commenced solidarity protest with ASUU. But speaking on a radio programme in Kaduna on Wednesday, El-Rufai asked the lecturers to return to classrooms to avoid having their positions declared vacant. The governor said KASU lecturers had no reason to join any strike. He said ASUU had problem with the federal government, not the state government. “The Acting Vice Chancellor has assured me that they will resume but and I have asked them to find out if they actually resumed work because I initially instructed that their salary be stopped. But I was later told they didn’t join the strike so I asked that it should be investigated and those that collected salary and joined the strike will be asked to refund the salary. “This is because Nigeria’s law says ‘no work, no pay’. This is the law. So whoever joined the strike will not be paid salary. We have been telling the KASU Lecturers that they have no problem with State government. ASUU’s problem is with the Federal government, therefore why will our staff who have no problems with us joined the strike? “If this continues, I will wake up one day to sack them all, I swear to God. We will sack them all and declare their positions vacant on the pages of newspaper. They once did same thing and we gave them warning, now they repeated it. I’m only waiting to receive the report from the commissioner for education. I swear to God, we will sack all those that joined the strike if they refuse to resume work.” https://dailytrust.com/just-in-el-rufai-threatens-to-sack-kaduna-lecturers-involved-in-ASUU-strike |

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr Dauda Biu as the Acting Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), following the retirement of Mr Boboye Oyeyemi. Oyeyemi said this when he handed over the affairs of the Corps to Biu at the FRSC headquarters on Monday in Abuja. This is contained in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Bisi Kazeem on Monday in Abuja. Oyeyemi said that Biu’s appointment took effect from July 24 and wished him a successful tenure as he assumed office. The FRSC Board Chairman, Malam Bukhari Bello, congratulated Biu on his appointment and urged him to sustain the tempo as well as ensure that he justify his appointment. Bello said that the former Corps Marshal laid a good foundation for the corps and urged Biu to continue where he stopped. Click Link in Bio for more details…

Insecurity: FG considering a ban on motorcycles nationwide — AGF The National Security Council on Thursday announced that it is considering a nationwide ban on motorcycles and mining activities in the country as part of its strategy to curb terr@rist activities, checkmate loopholes and cut off their sources of funding. This was the outcome of the meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja. Addressing state house correspondents after the meeting, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, said the administration’s consideration of the wholesale ban was forced by the raging insecurity that has shown no signs of subsiding despite concerted efforts of security agencies. “The government would look into that possibility with particular regard to restriction on use and distribution of motorcycles which is the most conventional logistical means being deployed by terr@rists.” Mr Malami said the determination did not come easy for the administration, warning that Nigerians are likely to bear harsh economic implications of the move. The attorney-general said federal authorities have been able to find a connection between motorcycles, mining operations and insecurity across the country. He, however, failed to clarify why the measure was being considered nationwide. “The opportunistic nature of these activities ties strongly to the fact that gold is often the favoured mineral of the terr@rists groups as many of these groups use this to secure a source of funding for future operations.”. Mr Malami did not immediately say when the ban would be announced, or whether it would be debated openly prior to implementation, but he insisted that the administration would not disregard its intelligence report that recommended banning motorcycles to control the flow of money and other resources to rampaging outlaws.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, to resolve the prolonged industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other university-based unions. The President gave the directive Tuesday after receiving briefings from the relevant government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) involved in the ongoing efforts to end the face-off with the university unions. Buhari had summoned them to get more information on why the strike had persisted for too long. ASUU had commenced one month warning strike on February 14, and other unions also joined them over the alleged inability of the federal government to meet up with their demands. After Tuesday’s briefing, the President ordered the education minister to ensure that the areas of disagreements were sorted out within two weeks and report back to him. Sources at the meeting also said Buhari directed that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige must be in any of the meetings to resolve the crisis. The sources added that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, should be part of the team to interface with the striking unions. Click Link in Bio for more details…

Nigeria is a country where you can get away with anything, and i mean anything. |
This one can't be a member of ISWAP, because they must have made arrangements for transportation of their members in the plan before attacking. I hope a lot of lessons have been learned. The Nigerian naira on Monday crashed to a historic low at the parallel market, exchanging for N620 against the United States dollar at the exchange platform Aboki Forex. Checks by Peoples Gazette on Monday showed the current parallel market rate pegged at N620 to a dollar. The figure represents a 0.8 percent depreciation from the N615 it traded the previous week. Although the Naira gained against the green back at the Investors and Exporters’ window, exchanging at N430 to the dollar on Friday, the value of the currency has sunk further at the parallel market. While the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) claims that the parallel market does not accurately reflect the country’s exchange rate, Bureaux De Change operators (BDCs) in Ojodu Berger area of Lagos, told Peoples Gazette that they were currently selling at the rate of N620 per dollar. Aboki Forex gained prominence shortly after a similar website, Aboki FX got axed by CBN governor Godwin Emefiele, for allegedly manipulating the exchange rate at the parallel market. The naira has continued to depreciate considerably against the dollar over the past months, going from N588 per dollar in May to N620 on Monday. https://gazettengr.com/just-in-naira-crashes-to-n620-per-dollar/ |
Dubai: A Palestinian man from Gaza has allegedly shot at 17 people, killing at least two of them, after learning about his wife going to the beach with her family without his knowledge, local media reported. The killer’s 43-year-old father-in-law and the 13-year-old granddaughter were killed, according to the local police. The wife had a tense relationship with her husband that drove her to move in with her parents. On the day of the crime, she reportedly went with her family to the beach without telling her husband. Upon learning that the armed man went berserk and attacked his wife’s house, where he fired about 30 bullets, killing and injuring 17 people. The victim’s relatives then attacked the killer’s family and burned their possessions. Police said they are still looking for the perpetrator as he fled the scene as soon as he committed the crime. https://gulfnews.com/world/mena/palestine-man-shoots-at-17-killing-2-after-his-wife-goes-to-beach-without-telling-him-1.89297773 |

Rubbish!!! |
Young Nigerians must spend less energy on unnecessary drama and respect people's privacy. Why harass Aregbesola? You have made your point why hassle him? This is not right. The minister even proved a gentleman by inviting him to sit with him, why couldn't he seize the opportunity to make his grievances known? Why not take the opportunity to blast him on the sleaze happening in the embassies and passport offices? This young man is very stewpid and has wasted the opportunity to make a case for good governance. Shame. |
This old politicians will not rest until they finally destroy this country all because of their selfish interests. What pains me the most is, when everything goes haywire, these same politicians and their families will escape and leave the rest of the masses to kill themselves. Sri lanka comes to mind. |
