Are men and women sleeping in the same ward ? |
This is indeed a super story because very few personnel (DIRECTORS) in the oil and gas industry earn that level of salary. In fact, that woman must be close to retirement age (55 - 60 years) and cannot be a young lady that a man can be tossing around because of marriage. She must be very high up in the management cadre to be earning up to N42MM, being that the case she would definitely be able to influence her work location. All the major oil companies have bases in both Lagos and PH. Also, women are usually given consideration to work in close proximity with husband. Finally, there is a lot of myth about the salary structure in the oil and gas industry but I can confirm to you that is not as outrageous as being painted. |

I can talk here, I feel at home! However, talking without logic, introspection and wisdom is foolish. Yes!, I think hate begets hatred, and love begets love. Once upon a time, especially since the beginning of GEJ’s loss at the polls and the ascension of PMB to power, the chief promoter of Biafra went ballistic against ALL other Nigerians. I won’t say all he said, they are as stupid, vexatious and senseless as it came. His people lapped it up like a famished puppy will do to a bowl of milk. They denigrated ALL other citizens in foul vitriol full of debasing abuses and curses. Oh, they even advised themselves to ignore any church in lagos that is pastored by Yorubas. They coined “foolanis”, and they keep reminding us that Yorubas are Judases, traitors and slaves. They went haywire when PMB secured a 2nt time. These ones are quick to yab anyone with basic contrary opinions that are not offensive in any way., they don’t just yab, they curse too. Yeah, their ‘victimized’ rhetoric is curiously amusing!, everybody hates them, that’s their worn-out chorus. The Fulani’s, to me, are less “loud” or reactive when it comes to exchange of yabs and all. I pity them (as a Yoruba slave abi?). Surely, we’ve been sadly polarized since 1945. The census of 1953 and 1962 added kerosine to the fire, and the civil war added coal and petrol to the inferno. Nigeria has never been thesame again. I Tinubu and other political enablers of Buhari became the topic of hate yabs, by extension, his brothers (Yorubas) were not spared. Hate begets hate! Now, as per the issue at hand, I left Rant HQ because I couldn’t cope with the notifications and the gists are oftentimes frivolous. Quite a relaxant for some people. Now, I will say that Susan’s post sounds offensive and insensitive, especially as we all know that the distrust and mutual disrespect for each other’s tribe is huge in Nigeria. Gbogbo aso ko lan’sa l’oorun (every fabric is not suited for sun-drying).. Also, gbogbo ooto ko la’nso ni gbangba. (all truth are not fit for public dissemination) , that’s why established authorities have Classified Files. Susan’s adamance against issuing ‘an apology’ also riled them up. Some of us are “stubborn” like that!, it’s not a crime. But then, the reactions sounds extreme, especially coming from those that are notoriously noted for disparaging other tribes baselessly. Balloteli once said: “why always me?”. That’s why we have NATO, had Ecomog, have UN, AU and other regional bodies.. in fact, that’s why we have Confras and trade unions - to promote, guide and guard our interests. Copy and Paste Alert ! On a political note, When you say you are hated and you now ostracize others politically, how do you get the political power and alliance that will protect your interests in this Union? I keep thinking about 2023. How will you mount the podium in Adamawa, Katsina and Kano as a Igbo man and canvass for their votes as a presidential aspirant? The Foolanis with cow brains uh? You will also expect the Yoruba slaves of foolanis to chant political slogans for you? I wish to say that heavens will NOT fall if another Northerner or Westerner clinches the Villa again come 2023. Forget it, zoning is dead, technically. GEJ killed it. Our Guinness Stout will remain chilled and our Shaki onigba awe will remain steamy if this happens. He is just playing to the gallery. Is he aware that several airlines are going/have gone bankrupt and the major aircraft manufacturers have several unsold planes ? Therefore, just like crude oil, there are several planes that are surplus to requirement in the world aviation market, who will buy the Presidential Planes ? |
I think a bank can still be of help. The ones with the serial numbers can still be returned to the Central Bank and changed for new notes.....however you will lose some of the value by paying a service charge. |
Stevecovey:Did anyone observe the massive library he walked through ? A man that surrounds himself with books has no role in that backward place......he will rise from the ashes to something greater. |
Crispels:Wow !!! You made me so emotional...may God continue to bless you for this words of encouragement to the lost souls who will always speak negative things about our dear fatherland. You are absolutely right, there is no place like Nigeria despite the enormous challenges that we have. I have travelled far and wide. In the last two months alone, I have covered several European countries, USA and Canada, yet home sweet home is the best. |
Brodapounds:If you truly have N20M and it was achieved through legitimate means, at 25 years of age, it means if you keep doing whatever you have done to make this amount of money here in Nigeria, you can stay back to become the next Dangote. If your story is true and you made the money through honest means, why are you asking for what to do again to make more ? |
Arrant nonsense !!! Everyone is entitled to his opinion and that does not mean others are wrong. In Yorubaland during our traditional wedding the groom, along with his family and friends are required to prostrate flatly to the family of the bride and openly declare with all sense of humility that HE/THEY are BEGGING to ask for the hand of the wife in marriage. This symbolic act is to ensure that the groom realise the importance the family of the bride attach to giving their precious daughter away to the husband. This tradition had endured for decades and it has come to stay because we proudly embrace and appreciate it. |
This ex-convict is suffering from dementia. What has borrowing of money by the federal government of Nigeria got to do with private businesses advertising on CNN with money from their coffers ? |
It would have been a good exercise if the President have signed the bill within the shores of Nigeria but I am amazed that most of the people ferociously attacking the President have completely ignored the importance of the bill he has just signed into law because of the blind hatred for him over the election loss. Are the critics mindful of the fact that until now the previous set of laws applicable to deepwater oil & gas operations are from the ones applicable to land, swamp and shallow water terrains. I will like to reveal to you that the cost for a million dollar pipeline license is a ridiculous N20 (yes, TWENTY NAIRA !). That amount is what is payable to DPR using a bank draft which bank commission is over and above the principal amount. Let me also reveal to you that the development of deepwater assets started just before year 2000 when oil was just about $10/BL and OBJ was the President. The arrangement with the IOCs for deepwater operations is based on what is called Production Sharing Contract (PSC) and the principle is that the government contributes ZERO to develop the field and the IOC foots the entire bill. The cost of field development is then deducted over the production years until the cost of the project is realized. At the onset, after first oil, the IOCs take most of the oil and sell, giveing just about 5% - 15% to Nigeria and that dynamics is supposed to change IF the selling price of oil goes above $20/BL but unfortunately, nobody was paying attention and the price of oil is now over $50/BL. This is what PMB has just rectified and all you guys are complaining about is the optics of where the damned bill was signed into law ! We are such a strange people...... |

obafemee80:How much is the actual cost of a flight ticket from SA if you are flying on your own ? |
Wow ! You mean you subjected yourself to such inhuman treatment because of N7,300 ? That amount is not worth two days of your life being wasted like that. Next time move on to get better value for your time elsewhere and later seek redress. |
Under this all knowing man who believes he has the monopoly of wisdom; a) Bola Ige, the Attorney General of the Federation was murdered b) Funsho Williams was snuffed out. c) Harry Marshall was exterminated. d) Etc. What did he do ![]() |

princebergz:Good to see you and several others condemning this ignoble act by the lady in question. The OP has also not fared better by gleefully posting the shameful act. I think this post should be pulled down by the administrator because it may encourage other dumb people to act in the same way. |
diplomat058:If I am right and your claimed status as a graduate of OAU awaiting convocation ceremony is true, right now, you should be mid way through the mandatory NYSC and for the past several months you have been earning monthly allowance more than the amount your are soliciting for. What have you been doing with your savings that you cannot afford that meagre amount ? Set your priorities right and use the November "Allowee" to sort it out ! Can someone confirm that OAU now charge money for convocation attendance ? I know of the token required to rent the gown. It is not even compulsory to attend convocation, I graduated from Chemical Engineering Dept. of OAU in 1990 and I did not attend my convocation ! |
God bless you and Pastor Ituah.....you are very wonderful people I admire because I KNOW and God knows how hard you truly work to serve the lord with your personal finances without fanfare. |
PRESS STATEMENT- September 24, 2018 S.O.S ON THE UWARRANTED AND RECURRENT INVASION OF THE MILLENNIUM CITI CENTRE ESTATE (MCCE), GBAGADA, LAGOS BY LAND GRABBERS (OMO ONILES) AIDED BY THE NIGERIA POLICE Good Morning Residents of Millennium Citi Centre Estate, Gentlemen of the press and well-meaning Nigerians. We have called for this Press Conference to notify the world at large of our plight in view of the recurrent and continuing invasion and acts of terror and injustice against the Residents of Millennium Citi Centre Estate (MCCE) Gbagada, Lagos, and employees of the private security company that is contracted to provide access control at our entrances and to provide vigilante watch over our community. Our Chairman, Mr Adesoji Adeniji has been duly elected back-to-back for the past four (4) years for two terms as the chairman of the Millennium Citi Centre Residents’ Association because at this point in our chequered history, our Chairman has been adjudged as first among equals and a man of honour, impeccable Character and high integrity. In the last 10 years, we have successfully organised ourselves, as peace-loving, responsible and hardworking Nigerians, to use our hard earned resources not only to build private homes for ourselves, but to also build the necessary general infrastructures that you can see doting the landscape, ranging from provisions of Tarred/Interlocked Stone Paved Roads/gggrainages to transformers/poles/cables, dredging of the network of canals criss-crossing the estate, etc. This once desolate vast expanse of swampy land has been magnificently transformed to a place of pride through the collective efforts of Residents, with very minimal involvement of the State/Local Government Authority. We are duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, and also as a Community Development Association of Lagos State with a population of well above one thousand law abiding citizens of Nigeria. These unparalleled self-help efforts and commitment from all Residents have recently caught the attention of Lagos State Government and we are one of the CDAs who benefited from the recent governor’s Grass-root Development grants focusing on development at CDA level; All Residents are equal stakeholders, and we conduct periodic meetings which hold on the last Saturday of every month to deliberate on issues. Decisions are made for implementation based on majority votes of Residents, which is in line with democratic best practices. Execution of ratified decisions is carried out by the elected executive members led by the chairman. No doubt, as you can see, the Residents of MCCE, the leadership of the Estate and the governing committee members are respectable law abiding members of the Nigerian society and accomplished individuals in their various spheres of human endeavours, who conduct themselves in a decent manner and acceptable manner. Unfortunately, having made the terrain very attractive through our collective property developments and provision of general public infrastructures, various families leaped out of the woodwork with phantom and bogus claims to stake claim to ownership. In April 2017, a faction of the family whom majority of the Residents procured land named Antonio Delfino Da Meranda led by one Otunba Festus Jacob misguided the Police in a phantom Petition titled : “Threat to Life”. A detachment of Police Men from Alagbon, Homicide Section arrested the Supervisor of our Private Guards along with two of his men employed by MCCE. They were held in detention at Alagbon for 5 days before their release was secured. For the five days during which the ordeal lasted, our hitherto, serene gated and secured Estate was invaded and taken over by hoodlums who unleashed terror on Residents and New Site Developers. As a fallout of the incidence, we formally applied to the Inspector General of Police to provide MCCE with armed Mobile Policemen, approval was granted and we have since been enjoying the services of two personnel ever since. Similarly, on September 13, 2018, a faction of another family called Emmanuel Ashamu, having been politely prevented from forceful entering the private Estate security team (headed by the Supervisor, Iyeke William,) connived with officers and men from the IGP monitoring team, based in Abuja and led by ASP Aminu Sokoto invaded the community. Iyeke Williams and some of his men were promptly arrested, brutalised and handcuffed along with an unfortunate Barber that plies his trade within the Estate! They were led by the Policemen in company of Agents of Ashamu Family to some sites under development. Posters with the insignia of the Nigeria Police and inscription that “This land belongs to IGP” were brandished. The hapless victims were ordered at gun point to pose with pictures of the posters as a backdrop. The arrested victims were ordered to lead them to our Chairman’s house. Throughout last week, the same Team repeatedly turned up at the Chairman’s Residence at random and odd hours to frantically ransack his house in search for him with the intention to abduct and humiliate him over trumped up charges. There is an apparent effort to cover up this act of brazen illegality by men and officers of the Nigeria Police from IGP Monitoring Unit, Abuja led by ASP Aminu Sokoto in collaboration with agents of Ashamu Family, Due to the outcry by Residents of MCCE, Print and Electronic news Media over this shameful and illegal act, our innocent, responsible and dedicated Security Supervisor, Iyeke William and the barber, Julius Babasola were paraded like common criminals on NTA News on Friday night, September 21, 2018 with the allegations that they were impersonating the Inspector General of Police. Curiously, those plots of land they were hitherto undeveloped until these brazen actions took place, were instantly taken over the very day the arrests took place by agents of Ashamu Family. A fast track development activity is now taking place at the site this very moment and it is open to everyone to verify. Due to their frustrations in their bid to find our Chairman at home, they left chilling messages that the abducted security guards shall be kept as bargaining chip until he is arrested and eventually humiliated as dictated by their Ashamu collaborators because he is the main target. An invitation letter was finally left in his residence on Thursday, September 20, 2018. As a law abiding and responsible citizen, he has abruptly cut short his legitimate business trip outside Lagos, and plans to proceed to Abuja on Tuesday September 25, 2018 to honour the invitation. It is a notorious fact that the ASHAMU, DELFINO DA MERANDA, ODUTOLA, OLOTO, AROWOJOBE & ATUNRASE, all have militias that invade the Estate and engage each other in supremacy battles. We do not want to be in the middle of this tug of war amongst them. They all have various law suits against each other that are yet to be decided by the Law Courts, and despite that, they resort to self-help to claim ownership. Some Residents of MCCE have even had to make payments to at least two of these families to prevent incessant disturbances. The position of the Millennium Citi Centre Estate Association is for all the various warring families to wait for the final outcome of the various pending law suits. We therefore call on the Inspector General of Police and other well-meaning Nigerians to intervene urgently, direct the release of the persons being illegally detained since September 13, 2018 and instruct officers and men of the Nigeria Police to stop lending themselves to being used for brazen illegality. Thank You Signed: Jachike Nwankwo Vice-Chairman, MCC Estate |

Residents of Gbagada Millennium Citi Centre Sue Police For N250m Over Unlawful Harassment by SaharaReporters, New York Sep 19, 2018 Residents of Millenium Citi Centre Estate in Gbagada have sued the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris and officers of the IGP monitoring unit for alleged unlawful arrests and detention. They are demanding N250 million damages from the defendants. In a fundamental suit filed at the Federal High Court in Lagos, the applicants prayed the court to declare that the invasion of their estate by men of the IGP monitoring unit was illegal. They are the estate’s chairman Mr Soji Adeniji, an engineer, its chief security officer, Mr William Iyeke, a resident, Mr Julius Babasola, and the Registered Trustees of Millenium Citi Centre Estate. They sued the administrator of the estate of the late Emmanuel Ashamu family, Mrs Titi Ashamu, Mr Tunde Ashamu, attorney to the Emmanuel Oyedele Ashamu family, Mr Amodu Fatai, the IGP, and members of the IGP Monitoring Unit namely: Aliyu Abubakar, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Aminu Sokoto and Sunday Daramola, both Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs). In the suit filed through their lawyer, Kola Olapoju, the applicants sought a declaration that the policemen’s alleged invasion of their estate together with the agents and privies of the first to third respondents was “illegal, oppressive, unconstitutional, null and void as it violates the applicants’ fundamental rights to freedom of movement”. They sought a declaration that the arrest and continued detention of Iyeke and Babasola at the IGP’s office at Louis Edet House, Abuja, by men of the monitoring unit “at the instance of the first to third respondents” is illegal, oppressive, unconstitutional, null and void. The applicants sought a declaration that the repeated invasion of Adeniyi’s residence without a warrant of arrest based on trumped-up allegations is illegal, oppressive, unconstitutional, null and void as it violates his fundamental right to fair hearing. The applicants are challenging a September 17 invitation letter by the IGP unit sent to Adeniyi, asking him to report to on September 25 at the IGP’s office in Abuja by 1000hrs. The applicants said the estate chairman was “discharging his lawful duties”, and that inviting him over a criminal complaint “amounts to an infraction of the first applicant’s right to liberty, dignity and freedom of movement” as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. They sought an order of perpetual injunction restraining the respondents jointly and/or severally from threatening or proceeding against them in any manner “on the basis of the facts and circumstances culminating in the criminal complaint lodged by the first to third respondents”. Among other reliefs, they sought an order of perpetual injunction restraining the men of the IGP Monitoring Unit or anybody acting with their authority from arresting, re-arresting, further detaining or harassing them. The applicants said they were being harassed over their ownership of property in the estate. Adeniyi said he is a lawful property owner and resident of the Millennium Citi Centre Estate, who like 500 other landlords duly purchased his property from either of the three or more feuding families, including the defendants. “Three of the families (including the Emmanuel Oyedele Ashamu family represented by the 1st – 3rd respondents herein) are currently embroiled in civil litigations at different stages in various courts in Nigeria, while none has obtained judgment entitling them to possession of the estate lands, all of which had already been sold, and for which they obtained considerations and passed title to the respective occupants,” the applicants said. They said they had reached out to the feuding families, expressing their neutrality, and pledging cooperation with whoever gets the nod of the courts as the rightful owners of the land. According to them, the trumped-up allegations for which the arrests were made was a bid to “obtain from the back door what they could not officially obtain from the regular courts, and thus blackmail and arm-twist the first and fourth applicants into allowing them into the estate at the likely detriment of the other families still engaged in litigation with them in court”. The applicants said they have not committed any criminal offence and are not caught up in any of the constitutionally prescribed situations that would allow for the derogation or deprivation of their personal liberties or dignity of their persons. No date has been fixed for hearing. |

Haba ! This is totally wrong !!! The International Oil Companies (IOCs) do not sell GAS, they only flare it or re-inject into the wells for reservoir pressure maintenance. That is part of the reasons they have been reluctant to reinvest in recent years until the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) receives the attention it deserves. Oil production is similar to what happens when you answer the call of nature, unfortunately you cannot do #1 without #2. However, because Joint Venture (JV) and Production Sharing Contracts (PSC) that they signed does not cover gas, they have to painfully reinject the gas (instead of using sea water) or flare it off, especially in times of emergency. The only IOC that I know of selling gas/condensate (OSO Field) is Mobil and that is very clear and fully accounted for. |
You are absolutely wrong on this. Using the median on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way that you have cited in your example, removing/reducing the median to create additional lanes on both sides of the road will geometrically worsen the traffic situation because more vehicles on the extra lanes created will arrive at either of the choke points at the Maryland junction or Ayinke bridge end at the same time. This scenario is similar to what happens when the traffic slows down and impatient drivers create artificial lanes on the shoulders to drive on, they end up in the front trying to force their way at the choke point and this further slows everyone down. In fact, this brings me to point out the way we use the 3rd mainland bridge and the reason why we have traffic build up at Iyana Oworo and Adekunle ends during rush hour. The entire width of a road is not meant to be used in it's entirety just because as many vehicles can stay side by side. The 3rd mainland bridge is wrongly marked as a 4 lane highway instead of 3. Four vehicles cannot safely drive at over 80kms per hour side by side with less than one metre width of separation between them. That is the reason why traffic slows down on our highways. The higher the degree of separation, the safer and faster the drivers are inclined to go faster. During rush hour more vehicles are on the road and they are forced to drive side by side from the beginning of the bridge to the end. Another area of concern are the descent and ascent ramps on our bridges. As anyone noticed that even when the road is absolutely free, you can hardly safely drive beyond 40kms per hour on the ramps. Anyone privileged to visit where this clover loop designs are being used in America will agree that despite the fact that the ramps can accommodate two vehicles side by side, they are clearly marked for one vehicle. The reason is that, when two vehicles drive on a ramp side by side, they will arrive at the termination point on the highway with either one of the two vehicles pushed to abruptly impede the smooth flow of the traffic on the major high way they are merging into. Lastly, roundabouts are obsolete and being discarded in modern cities. Crossed roads too are not good either. Instead, using Lekki/Epe Expressway as an example, it is better to close all the existing junctions where the traffic lights are and introduce wide U turns at strategic junctions. If you are coming out of Lekki Phase 1, you should not be able to burst out directly to the other side of the road and make a left turn towards Epe. Instead, force all traffic a quarter of a kilometre towards the toll gate and at a convenient spot, create a U turn that will not interfere with the traffic outbound Epe. This model was poorly executed along Mobolaji Bank Anthony but it sill works and has significantly reduced the traffic at the Lagos Country club junction. |
I can vouch that this couple are genuine. They spend their money and whatever they receive from others are 100% spent judiciously. I have personally presented two people to them for medical assistance and I was amazed/brought to tears by how far they went to put a big smile on their faces. QuietHammer: |
I'm really proud of you ! |
1miccza:Must you comment when you are not sure of the facts The sand being used to sandfill is at least 1km away on the other side of the bridge. This is an initiative that we Lagosians are proud of. |
