Romance / Man Flies To China To Meet Online Girlfriend, Spends 10 Days In Airport Waiting by olempe(m): 9:13pm On Aug 02, 2016
41-year-old Peter Cirk, from Holland, was recently hospitalized after spending 10 days at Changsha Airport, China, hoping to meet a Chinese girl he had met online. Cirk had met his 26-year-old love interest known only as Zhang on a social network, 2 months ago. The two apparently hit it off, and sick of having 4,500 miles between them, the Dutchman decided to apply for a Chinese visa and go meet Zhang for the first time. He told her he was coming, and even sent her a photo of his travel papers, but when he arrived at Changsha airport, she was nowhere to be seen.

Convinced something was holding Zhang off, but that she would eventually arrive to meet him, Cirk decided to wait for her in the airport. Photos gone viral on Chinese social media show the Dutchman patiently waiting on one of the benches, barefoot and with his baggage by his side. With each passing day, his hopes of meeting his Chinese sweetheart deteriorated, and so did his health. After 10 days spent in Changsha airport, Peter Cirk was exhausted and had to be hospitalized. One photo shows him being taken away in a wheelchair with an IV drip in his arm.

After this failed loved story went viral, Chinese reporters quickly tracken down Zhang and asked her why she didn’t show up to meet her online boyfriend. She admitted that Cirk had told her he was coming to see her, but she thought he was only kidding. “We had advanced our romantic relationship but later he seemed a little callous toward me. One day he sent me a photo of air tickets abruptly and I thought it was a joke,” she claimed. “He didn’t contact me later.”

Imagine an email for training of entrepreneurs having so much details about payment for form including payments options for Banks leaving out important details about the modus operandi of the programme. This shows they only concentrated on what is important to them which the MONEY. Anyone subscribing to this is doing that at his peril. Scammers alert turned on!

One of the reasons I get pissed on Nairalanders and other Nigerians, especially youths, who insult themselves over politicians. No PERMANENT friends or foe in politics, only permanent INTEREST(s).

Aregbesola booted Oyinlola out at the tribunals, today they're in the same APC,
Kayode Fayemi did the same time Segun Ooni, they friends today,
Fayose kicked out Fayemi but he made sure he secured his ministerial slot without stress.
Tinubu and OBJ were pepper and eye yet they worked together to send GEJ packing.

Don't be surprised Amaechi and Wike, Fayose and Buhari, Kwankwaso and Ganduje, Shehu Sani and El-Rufai would hug themselves tomorrow after sheathing their swords.

You would now be left in limbo after heaping on yourself unnecessary enemies.

Nigerian youths, be wise.

Well spoken. Word of the wise!

I was born in Ondo state in the 80s. At the time, Ondo and Ekiti state were still a state. Up until 1996, it was so. Therefore I know the Ekiti people and I can even say one or two things about them. And one thing I know is that Ekiti state people weren't known for the negativity that surrounds the state at the moment.

Firstly, Ekiti state boasted of the academicians of Nigeria. Great professors, Doctors and so on. Secondly, Ekiti people were honest people. They would rather die hungry than steal any ones property. Thirdly, Ekiti people are morally upright. They won't see black and call it white. Disciplined and intelligent. One last thing is that just like Ondo people, they too are very "strong headed". You can't intimidate or lord over them anything they don't want.

If all the above are true abt these state, how come all the drama happening in there, orchestrated by their own governor and no one is saying anything. Apart from the fact that the state has remain underdeveloped for like eternity, no thanks to selfish governors whose only agenda is their pocket. The people now are so silenced and even disorientated. Hmmm, I guess propaganda still works magic. Fayose with all the problems in Ekiti, from their dyeing educational sector to almost no healthy health institutions, dwindled economy, bad roads, lack of any reasonable social amenity etc, has chosen to face the federal government who is also grasping with reality of a collapsing nation. Poking his nose in all that doesn't concern him. Raising dust where there is none.

Dear fayose, why not face the many problems of Ekiti state and make yourself the chosen one u are claiming to be. Why not leave all this your fake "abracadabra " or stage managed people's policy. Or how do I describe ur nonsense old benz used for ur inauguration that no more exist in your motorcade. How abt u sitting on a vehicle, throwing banana to the Ekiti people you have turned to Monkeys. Oh, I forgot u also went to "buka" to eat. Why won't u go to "buka", u that went to d market to buy ponmo and other cooking stuffs. Drinking palmwine on the street with the common people.

One wud av thought that, u av the heart for these people, but instead, they are just a bait in ur hand. Yes a bait. Worse still, the Ekiti people are still not sleeping. You use them daily to wrestle the federal government. Agidi oshi to wa lara won naa oje ki Oju won la pe oti luwon ni jibiti poo. They daily jump unto the road to cry and claim it's u they want, the question is, do they really want u. Did they really come out to fight for u despite the hunger in the land without being bought over.

I know this because, the Ekiti state glorified secondary school that u call University is having different issues ranging from infrastructural decay to unstable academic sessions etc, yet the student association went to the streets to protest that u should be left alone to see out ur non existing people's given mandate .

I don't know Ekiti to be a private sector state, only for this nonsensical "sit tight" government to quickly form one new association of private sector that is chaired by Okada people and taxi plus bus drivers. My gosh, is this the level of idiosyncrasy in Ekiti ni. Abi how do I explain the eccentricity in the state now. So the intellectual people are now absent in Ekiti. Abi how come there is no one really speaking against this comedian called Fayose.

Ekiti people went on strike because of their unpaid salaries, only for this clown called fayose too to come out and said he too was on strike as a way of solidarity for the workers instead of finding solutions to their problem. What I have seen in Ekiti is bewildering to say the least. I only wonder, what is going on and for how long in that once glorious state. What project has dis fayose done gan in Ekiti.

I heard he is working on an Airport for the state. The question is, is it an Okada privatised sector of the state that wants to land in d airport. Or is it that farmer that wants to fly his yam or cocoa to and from Ekiti airport. (misplaced priority). Oh, may be it's another poultry project in the making.

Oh, Ekiti state please wake up.

How many people pray and fast before entering marriage?

No, they'd rather focus on uploading pictures on uploading pictures on social media, elaborate, noisy proposals, meaningless pre-wedding photoshoots and printing fancy shirts with 'Save the Date' written on them, then after three months come to Nairaland to complain about their marriage.

If people use half the energy they expend on showing off for simple prayer and fasting to find out God's will for them concerning marriage, there won't be so many failed marriages today.

Over time I have discovered there is no absolute finish line for everyone in the race of life. Our tracks are different and our durations are different. The only thing we have in common is the same EMPIRE.

For instance, one person graduates @ age 20 and struggles for another 5 years to get a job, another might graduate @ 25 and get a job immediately.

One can marry a virgin and wait for the next decade to have the blessings of children, another lady probably after having series of abortions in her past, becomes a mother almost immediately after marriage. A fellow becomes MD @ 38 and dies @ 56, another becomes MD @ 55 and lives to 90.

What a life!

Life is full of twists, turns, ups and downs and many more surprises and disappointments. Life offers each one of us different opportunities and once an opportunity is lost, it's gone forever except by the grace of God. It is up to each one of us to patiently prepare, wait, recognise and utilise every opportunity. We learn on the way.

No one knows it all or has it better. There is a reason why we all don't fall @ the same time. It's so that when one is down, weak and discouraged, the other who is strong, can encourage and lift the other person. God never promise that the road would be easy but He promised never to leave nor forsake us.

Although life is a race but never a competition, let us learn to go easy on ourselves and trust that God is working it all out for good (even if it doesn't make sense now). I know that there is a time for everything but most importantly that " it will come to pass ".

Whatever trials, challenges or down time , this too shall pass and in due course, we will be up and strong again to lift up those who maybe down around us......

NEVER LOSE HOPE, ITS D main MOMENTUM...

Just Pondering...

Dog owners feeling guilty for leaving their pets alone at home for too long will son be able to take comfort in the fact that at least the animals won’t be bored. They’ll be too busy changing TV channels and enjoying their favorite shows thanks to the world’s first dog-friendly remote control.

UK-based pet food brand Wagg apparently surveyed a number of pet owners and found that 91% of respondents said their canine friends regularly watch TV with them. Inspired by this interesting finding, the company teamed up with Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas, an expert in animal computer interaction design at the University of Central Lancashire, to create the world’s first remote control for dogs. They came up with a prototype for the ingenious device which is currently in a trial and analysis period.

The oversized remote is made of waterproof hard-wearing plastic, so while pooches can chew on it like any other toy, they’ll have a tough time actually causing any damage. It has three large, raised, paw-friendly buttons shaped like a bone, paw and ball which dogs can press to turn the TV on or off, change the channel and even “pawse” a show for later viewing, in case they need a potty break or a short nap. The buttons squeak when pressed and the device also features a hole through which a rope can be tied so dogs can carry it around the house.
