Judging from the recent mishaps we've seen and our peculiar little or no maintenance culture, shouldn't this be the way to go?

From myth to reality
Legend has it that Romulus and Remus, the twin founders of Rome, were abandoned as children and had to be suckled by a wolf until they were discovered by a wandering shepherd. Eventually they founded the great city on Palatine Hill, the very place where they had been cared for by the wolf. This is likely just a myth, but history abounds with real stories of children who really were raised by animals.
Although reality for these feral children is rarely so romanticized as it was for Romulus and Remus (feral children are often hampered with cognitive and behavioral disabilities), occasionally their stories can also be a testament to the human will to survive, and of the tender maternal instinct of other animals.

Ukrainian dog girl
Left to live in a kennel by her abusive and neglectful parents from the ages of 3 to 8, Oxana Malaya grew up with no other company than the dogsshe shared the kennel with. When she was found in 1991, she was unable to speak, choosing only to bark, and ran around on all fours. Now in her 20s, Malaya has been taught to speak but remains cognitively impaired. She has found some peace caring for cows that reside on a farm near the mental institution where she lives.

Cambodian jungle girl
While herding buffalo along the jungle's edge in Cambodia at the age of 8, Rochom P'ngieng became lost and mysteriously disappeared. Eighteen years later, in 2007, a villager caught sight of a naked woman sneaking around his property attempting to steal rice. Identified as the long lost Rochom P'ngieng due to a distinctive scar on her back, the girl had grown into a 30-year-old woman who had somehow survived on her own in the dense jungle. Unable to learn the local language or to adapt to the local culture, she fled back to the wild in May 2010.There have been mixed reportsabout her whereabouts since that time, including one about her reappearance in June 2010in a deep, dugout toilet near her home.

Ugandan monkey boy
After seeing his mother murdered by his father, a traumatized 4-year-old John Ssebunya fled into the jungle, where he reportedly was raisedby a troop of vervet monkeys until his discovery in 1991. As is often the case when feral children are discovered, he resisted capture from the villagers who sought to take him, and he got assistance from his adoptive monkey family (which supposedly threw sticks at his captors). Since his capture, John has been taught how to speak, and can now sing, too. In fact, he even tours with the Pearl of Africa children's choir. (Note: This is not a photo of John Ssebunya.)

Victor of Aveyron
Perhaps the most famous feral child of them all, Victor's story was made widely known in the film “L'Enfant Sauvage.” Although his origins are a mystery, it is generally believed that Victor lived his entire childhood naked and alone in the woods before being spotted in 1797. After a few more sightings, he eventually emerged on his own near Saint-Sernin-sur-Rance, France, in 1800. Victor became the subject for many philosophers and scientists who were curious about the origins of language and human behavior, though little progress was made in his development due to his cognitive impairments.

Madina
Madina's tragic story is much like Oxana Malaya's. Abandoned until her discovery just last yearat the age of 3, she lived with dogs. When found, she knew only two words, yes and no, though she preferred to growl like a dog. Luckily, Madina was declared mentally and physically healthy by medics shortly after her discovery, despite her ordeal. Though her development has been hampered, she is young enough that caretakers believe she can lead a relatively normal lifestyle when she grows up.

Lobo Wolf Girl of Devil's River
In 1845, a mysterious girl was seen running on all fours in the company of wolves attacking a herd of goats near San Felipe, Mexico. The story was corroborated a year later when the girl was seen again, this time devouring a freshly killed goat. As the story goes, alarmed local villagers mounted a search for the girl days later, eventually capturing her. Supposedly she howled incessantly throughout the night, attracting a pack of wolves that charged into the village in an apparent rescue attempt. She was able to sneak out of her enclosure and escape.
The girl was not seen again until 1852, when she was reportedly witnessed suckling two wolf cubs on a sand bar in a river. After being seen, she gathered up the two cubs, ran back into the woods and was never heard from again.

Russian bird boy
Confined in a room surrounded by bird cages, a Russian boy was raised like a pet bird by his abusive mother. When he was discovered, he could not speak and instead merely chirped like his bird companions. Though he was not physically harmed, he cannot engage in any normal human communication. He has been moved to a center for psychological care where professionals are working to rehabilitate him.

Amala and Kamala
These two girls, 8 years old and 18 months respectively when discovered, were found in a wolves' den in 1920in Midnapore, India. Their story is wrapped in controversy. Because they were so far apart in age, experts did not think they were sisters. It's more likely that they were both taken by wolves on different occasions. Like many other feral children, they reportedly longed to return to the wild and were miserable in their lives trying to cope with the civilized world.

Peter the Wild Boy
A naked, hairy boy walking on all fours emerged from the woodsnear Hamelin, Germany, in 1724. Eventually coaxed into being captured, he behaved like a wild animal, choosing to eat both birds and vegetables raw and was incapable of speaking. After being moved to England, he was given the name of Peter the Wild Boy. Though he never learned to talk, he supposedly loved music, was taught menial tasks, and lived to an advanced age. A gravestone marks where he was laid to rest in a churchyard in 1785.

This suite at the Hotel Costa Verde on the Costa Rican coast was once a Boeing 727. For $250 a night ($500 during peak season) you can sleep next to tropical beaches in an airplane that can no longer fly.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
Visionaries have been making furniture, hotels and private homes from decommissioned airplanes
Airplane trolleys can be converted into wine bars or foosball tables
Plane-turned-boat Cosmic Muffin can reach speeds up to 13 knots
(CNN)--

Images of the latest gleaming aircraft models regularly pepper websites (including this one), but where do all of those dead airplanes go?
The numbers are huge: approximately 12,000 aircraft are set to be decommissioned by 2020.
In addition, 2,000-3,000 planes are estimated to have been abandoned around the world (primarily in developing countries) according to the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association(AFRA).
As their aircraft near the end of their service lives, aircraft owners must find ways for dealing with retirees.
For aircraft at that awkward stage when they're no longer safe to fly but still too sturdy to demolish, there are storage facilities like that at Marana Aerospace Solutionsin Arizona or the Mohave Air and Space Portin California.
The problem is, they're only temporary.
Too dangerous to fly, too strong to die. Unfortunately they can't all be luxury hotel suites.

While some parts -- especially engine parts -- practically sell themselves and find new homes on new planes, other airplane parts can get more innovative second lives, such as the ones featured below.

Furniture
Futuristic rivets, elegant curves, gleaming surfaces and the ability to withstand extremes ... it's easy to see why furniture designers would be intrigued by the potential of decommissioned airplanes.
The widely acknowledged leader in this niche industry is MotoArt, a California-based company that's been designing sleek, sexy beds, tables, chairs and sculptures constructed from deconstructed airplanes for more than a decade.
"We have over 100 designs and have produced thousands of pieces that you find nearly in all parts of the world, from the Dubai Burj, to the Sears Tower, and even as far away as the North Pole," says managing partner Dave Hall.

Nothing to jazz up a waiting room like some cool airplane art. The kind you can sit on.
Germany's bordbar, the first company that thought to revamp airline trolleys as multifunctional and decorative furniture, customizes trolleys.

This can mean incorporating butterfly patterns or corporate logos, transforming the trolley into a filing cabinet or mini-bar, complete with shelves, glass front and LED lighting.
"We sell our products around the globe, with approximately 220 wholesalers," says bordbar co-founder Valentin Hartmann. "There is definitely a market for trolleys."
Bordbar trolleys start at €979 ($1,300).
German company Skypakalso specializes in glammed-up airline trolleys, selling luxurious, attention-grabbing designs like the Pure Gold trolley, decorated with 24-carat gold leaf.
The company's star product, the Luxury Crystal trolley, is covered in 82,000 Swarovski crystals.
Skypak's trolleys start at €1,380 ($1,833), but luxury trolleys go for anywhere from €3,900 ($5,180) to €27,800 ($37,000).

Save trees. Bring a dead airplane back to life.
Floor and wall tile.

Aircraft aluminum isn't like the aluminum most of us know.
Because of the alloys that make it sturdy and fit for flight, it's also difficult to recycle.
Bio-Luminum, a building material from U.S.-based Coverings ETC, is made from completely recycled aircraft aluminum.
"The energy used in recycling aluminum is 5% of what would be used during the first generation of aluminum production," says Jennifer Ryan, business development director for Coverings ETC.
The best part is that Bio-Luminum is itself recyclable.
"So if you ever desire to change your decor, Bio-Luminum can be removed and used over again," says Ryan. "It is truly a cradle-to-cradle product."

https://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130826180309-recycled-planes-cosmic-muffin-boat-story-body.jpg

The Cosmic Muffin takes recycling to another level. Sea level. Next step: a plane-submarine.

Boat
Planeboats, or "flying boats," are rare (the Japanese Imperial Navy developed a fleet during World War II), but a former 1939 Boeing 307 Stratoliner converted into a boat that can reach up to 13 knots occupies a remarkable place in recycled plane lore.
The boat has an unforgettable name -- the Cosmic Muffin -- as well as an equally interesting history.
It belonged to aviation pioneer Howard Hughes in the 1940s. After it was re-christened by pilot Jimmy Buffett, its current owner, Dave Drimmer, purchased it in 1981 to live aboard.
"The original aircraft controls in the cockpit are now used to drive the boat with both the pilot and co-pilot controls," says Drimmer. "This is what makes the planeboat so unique and novel; you sit where Howard Hughes used to fly the plane to drive the boat."
Jealous?
Intensely curious?
The Cosmic Muffinis open for tours and charters out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Wing House owner David Hertz compares converting a Boeing 747 into a home to the way "the Native American Indians used every part of the buffalo."

House

Architect David Hertz's design, the Wing House, a Malibu mansion constructed from an entire Boeing 747, manages to be striking and graceful, even without the knowledge that it was built on ecologically sound principles.
Via his website, Hertz compares the process of converting the 747 into a house to the way "the Native American Indians used every part of the buffalo."
The most obviously aerial feature is the curvilinear roof, constructed from the wings of the former plane.
Working with a smaller budget, but no less entrepreneurial, Oregon resident Bruce Campbell's Airplane Homeis a structurally untouched Boeing 727-200 that's been gutted on the inside.
Then there is Joe Axline's " Project Freedom," involving two airplanes, an MD-80 and a DC-9-41, that have been converted into a home.
In a landfill, an airplane's just trash. But as a hotel in the lush Costa Rican rainforest, it's a place where people will pay to stay.

https://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130826182150-recycled-planes-malibu-wing-house-2-story-body.jpg

https://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130826180418-recycled-planes-treehouse-story-body.jpg

Hotel

It's difficult to imagine a traveler disembarking from an airplane wanting to spend a night in one.
But if the number of hotels built into airplanes is any indication, such travelers do exist.
Costa Verde, a luxurious hotel located in a Costa Rican rainforest, is a recycled Boeing 727.
Despite its clipped wings, from the exterior it looks like an aircraft emerging from the jungle ready to fly out over the Pacific.
The fuselage that encases the two bedrooms of the "727 Fuselage Home" suite is intact. Apart from the distinctive shape of the portholes and curved ceiling, however, the interior feels more woodsy bungalow than aircraft.
Meanwhile, Stockholm's Arlanda Airport has budget accommodation Jumbo Stay, a hostel built into a Boeing 747, popularly known as a Jumbo Jet.
"I financed and built the whole hostel," says owner Oscar Diös. "We wanted to be unique, but not discriminating toward anyone with a smaller budget."
This welcoming attitude may be why the cockpit has served as the setting of several weddings, and why former 747 pilots are regular visitors.
"Jumbo Stay is a place for everyone," says Diös.
For €350 ($465) a night, there's the Airplane

Suite for two in the Netherlands.
Built inside a decommissioned Ilyushin Il-18, it comes with amenities you couldn't have on a private jet -- Jacuzzi, sauna, flat-screen TVs and basic kitchen equipment, not to mention a mini-bar and DVD collection.

https://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130826182655-recycled-planes-reef-story-body.jpg

This is one Boeing 737 that will never fly again. Thankfully, it looks right at home with the fish.

Artificial reef

Most airplanes try to avoid submersion in large bodies of water. That sort of thing is usually called an "accident."
But if the airplane is empty, then sinking it into the sea to create an artificial reef, like the
Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia(ARSBC) did with a Boeing 737, it might actually be a good thing, as they become homes for, and thus promote, local marine life.
"The 'passenger list' of creatures that now inhabit the reef has grown to over 100 species," says Deidre Forbes McCracken, director of public relations at the ARSBC.

Anythingelse
Recycling an airplane means recycling the interior as well.
Australian retailer Rushfaster stocks laptop messenger bagsfitted with former airplane seatbelts as straps -- a good gift for university freshmen who need to lug around textbooks.
Then there's British retailer Worn Again, with its Worn Again Virgin line. Though often out of stock (recycling depends on the availability of discarded materials), the company stocks a line of bags, clothes and accessories made from recycled Virgin Atlantic interiors.

European architectural firm LOT-EK has ambitious concept designs for a library of more than 200 stacked Boeing fuselages; Sky Trampresents the idea of converting fuselages into futuristic supertrains that would run on tracks suspended several stories above the ground.
Sure, these innovations don't actually exist.
Yet.
But people laughed at airplanes, too, until they really took off.

Are you using a Diseqc? Try connecting directly to the receiver and observe what happens.

Input 11881 H 27500 on any sat with a ''ku'' suffix of your choice or better still use Eutelsat ew6. Loosen your dish and while at the back of the dish, push the dish a little up and a wee bit to the right. You should hit green. Maximize your signal by turning your lnb clockwise/anti-clockwise.

Then input 11024 H 03333. Make sure this tp is also green.

Then blindscan.

babe4wealth: My own has worked, but i had to adjust d DISH settings with disc 1.0 set to OFF B4 it worked.

Now d problem is dat d MyTv Channels are not workin becos of d adjustment PLEASE WAT CAN I DO TO MAKE DEM WORK,THANKS
Am baffled you had to change your Diseqc settings because I believe you've been using it for long. But not to worry. If you changed the settings and it came up, then you've got to also change the settings for the mytv channels.

This can be achieved by selecting any mytv channels and going to menu, installation, dish settings, Diseqc settings. And adjust it to match the Diseqc port number where the cable coming from the mytv dish is connected to the Diseqc. (i took the liberty of believing you have two dishes- one for mytv and the other for joytv)

If it doesn't work, then adjust your dish accordingly.

Give me feed backs.

sauceEEP: bro help me out, i've changed my frequency and symbol rate to the new one u gave but mine is still showing red instead of green why??
Try blindscaning your your receiver. (select joy tv and while still on it - on full screen mind you, press menu, press ''ok''. Enter 4 zero's if pin number is requested. Then scroll down to blind scan and select. Press ''ok'' and press the right volume button once. And press ''ok'' again. Allow to blindscan and exit to home screen. Should be fine now.

If at the end of the day it still doesn't come on, then must probably your dish is off and needs to be re-alighned.

Alex70: @ OLENYIN, ODILIBE ,OBNELLY, AND WHO CAN HELP pls i need ways to send signal from decoder that does not have rf out to another tv in the room i knew it has been discuss here by using rf modulator pls guild me to the tread page i really need to help my brother resolve this issue how do one connect the rf modulator to split to like 3 rooms thanks.
satmaniac: @all d gurus on board, gud evening,I am here to seek for helpful input on an issue.hope I will have your attention.
Well, its like this;there is this 4940 reciever I have been trying to run multi room distribution of about 7 rooms with.
At first I try using it av system to run the distribution point, which I later discover at some point the audio/video is not clear ie the reciever cant take up to that amount of TV(7) So I discard the Idea.
A friend suggest I use Av to rf converter transponder, with coaxial cable, that I try also it turn out to be worse.
I will like to know if there's a better way arround it,or if there is something wrong with my method.
I am expectin you guys,Thanks and remain blessed.
olenyi: Go to the market and get one female iron tv plug, 7 iron male tv plugs, 16 f connectors, two 4 ways eurostar splitter (or one eight way splitter if you can get one), one alcad av to RF converter signal amplifier (#8000), two packs of tower plastic clips, and one or two rolls of coaxial cable.

Now connect one f connector to one end of your cable. Screw on the female tv plug and plug to your alcad converter. Connect your av wires to the rx and the other end to the appropriate ports on the converter.

Now run your cable accordingly using the spliter to split the signal coming from the converter to the different tv's.

When you are done laying your cable, plug in/on your alcad converter and viola, you are done.

Alternatively, look for any old video cassette player with channel settings or some dvd players with ''RF in'' and ''RF out'' ports. Just plug your av wire coming from your receiver video and audio out ports to the video cassette player av in port. Then connect your cable with the f connector and the female tv plug to the ''RF out'' port at the back and you are good to go.

R2bees: Then press menu on
your remote. Press ''ok''.
Enter 4 zero's if it requests
for a pin. Scroll down to
manual scan and press ''ok''.
Scroll down once and press
''0'' on your remote. Select
''edit''. Enter 12520. Scroll
down to ''symbol rate'' and
enter 27042.
Make sure your ''polarization''
is ''V''. I believe your signal
bar should be green by now.
Then scan by pressing ''ok''
for older receivers and ''red
button'' on newer receivers.
Exit afterwards to your home
screen and enjoy.
