Bowofola213: Plz dis question may be annoying plz is it posibble 4 an electrician 2 repair a positional/engine use in rotating big dishOf course. Hope u're not hoping to buy a used one from someone as the money u're gonna spend on the purchase and repair would be more than the price for a brand new one. Be guided. Regards. |

Bowofola213: plz sire wat do u mean about if it as a "C" olenyi: You will know this if it has a ''C'' suffix like intelsat 20c, intelsat 906c.Is the above too hard to get. Look at ur satellite lineup on ur receiver under manual scan then come back. Regards. |
4llerbuntu: Hello gentlemenJust deal with accredited mytv dealers so that should anything come up, u report direct to mytv for redress should the dealer start acting funny. Also go to known big dealers and not those little one's. Regards. |
On point as usual. Ride on. |
Bowofola213: Plz i bought a c-band lnb to track amos 5 but it did nt pop out green but d ku band singnal s k plz any help or hw wil i do d c-band settingsYou've got to first of all input your frequency on any C-Band satellite in your receiver. You will know this if it has a ''C'' suffix like intelsat 20c, intelsat 906c. Then retrack. And don't connect through a Diseqc just yet. Connect direct to your receiver. Regards. |
@ZUBY. Just wondering if u later heard from Matthew Ejodamen. What happened to him after the police raid? Regards. |
rapthugx: . Nice one Oga Olenyi, pls how much is d cost of this equipment to motorise a 1.8M or 2.4M pan? Thank you.Jack = 2700 Positioner = 2700 Price is location dependent. Regards. |
Hi guys you are doing a very wonderful job honestly I am more than impressed please here is my question 16.0°E Eutelsat 16A = 10804H/30000 17.0°E Amos 5 = 11884V/27500 28.2°E Astra 2F = 12522V/19531 36.0°E Eutelsat 36A = 12275V/11200 1. The above listed satellites can they be tracked using C- band dish of 1.8M and LNBF or it is strictly for KU band, kindly help me to indicate which one can serve both KU band and c-band together and which serve KU band only and C- band only and if yes will they be at the same frequency for C-band and KU band...
The satellites u named are all ku bands and as such, can only be gotten with ku band lnbf. When looking at a satellite name, u normally see a ''ku'' or ''c'' suffix. This helps to tell u at a glance if a satellite is ku or c band. Also, when a freq is 5 in number, eg 11900, u know its a ku. But if its 4 eg 3890 or 03890, its a c band freq.
2. Also please are there universal LNBF that can track both C-band frequency and at the same time track Ku band frequency and how much does it cost any idea.
Yes there are. But the down side is that because most c band freq's require the insertion of the dielectric plate inside the c band lnb throat, the dielectric will now act as an obstruction for the ku band signals. It's normally used when one is tracking C-Band satellites that don't require dialect like intelsat 20c.
3. And will it equally work anywhere in Nigeria because I am based in Yola Adamawa state and that is North east so please kindly advice...
Yea works anywhere in the world. ![]()
4. And please does anyone have the idea of motorized installation that drives the dish to the required direction without manual repositioning at all times... Comments from the whole house will be highly appreciated... Many thanks... Regards...
We have what is called a jack and Positioner. These are the two equipment needed that can drive ur dish to ur desired satellite/Position from the comfort of ur sitting/living room with the press of a button. Though ur dish needs to be a ''pole mount'' designed dish and not a ''ground mount''. Except the ''neck'' design of the ground mount is modified to accept a jack. Regards. |

zungwe93: @ Oleanyi, i'm so much impressed with your help on this thread, particularly to me.Thanks for ur compliment. As regards ur question, if it writes scrambled channel or no access, then that's it. It only means U've got to pay/subscribe to watch those. Regards. |
rapthugx: Good morning good ppl, I just want to know how to measure the size of this dish, saw it somewhere and d guy is willing to sell. Unfortunately, both of us don't kno the size nor hw to measure it. It is a little bigger than 90cm dish, has DSTV inscribed on it. I can put d dish in order (as in coating and painting it). All I need is how to know the size to know if it is worth d stress. Thank you.Bro, forget about that dish. That's an old dish which u may not be able to tell how good it still is until u put it to test and then u might be disappointed. A new and better 1.8m dish now sells for under #11000 and u also have the added advantage of a petallized dish u can dis-assemble, can also motorize it, and give u better signal reception. Don't say I didn't warn u. Dat dish is not worth the stress. And I believe the owner might be looking to cash in and may want to sell it at not less than 9-15k. Just save up and get urself a new pole mount 1.8m dish. My half cent. Ps** dat could be a 1.2 or 1.8m dish. Regards. |
naijaobi: to the guys getting irib, pls whats ur maximum signal on d aljezera channel on the same arabsat @20 east..cos mine is 76% but irib is not popping up..still at 37%@naijaobi. Take note.
Hello house, can anyone confirm my observation? I've observed that, both Irib tv3 and varzesh show on HD decoder only. I'm saying this because all the arabsat 20E channels except Irib tv3 & Varzesh pop green on 69XII,69z and 4330 decoders. Is anyone receiving these two channels on the above decoders? Pls I need a confirmation or otherwise. Thanks
|
Thanks for the update. Now the census is about to begin again. Can't wait. Still following. |

Edruyi: 1. What part of GHbro, how is kktv facebook page supporsed to help one out? Regards. |
staddos: Oga Olenyi thanks for your response but am confused. Are you saying that if the dish is to be used for both Ku and C band one would have to do the alignment for both C and Ku band. I read in the library material about motorising a dish that one should use SES 5/ASTRA 4 to align the dish. What I wanted to know can one use either a C band or Ku band satellite to do the alignment and peaking the signal and you would be good to go or you have to do the alignment for both C and Ku band if you intend to use your dish for both C and Ku band.you could use either one of them. Same thing. But i dont understand ur obsession with astra 4. Its at 4'e. So how do u intend using only one sat to align. Why i specified the sat's for 1.8 and 2.4 is for ease of tracking. And being that the c-band is usually situated at the center of the scalar ring, it could be prefered for better tracking and alignment (though it could be harder to track with for one not proficient enough). And also, while cutting the scalar, assuming u're going to attach the ku to ur c-band scalar ring, u may not have done a good job of it which will invariably make it harder for u to track effectively. But with a prime focus placed c-band or ku, the tracking and alighnment becomes much easier. Go ahead and use ku or c-band for ur alignment. U could always do the adjustment. Regards. |
Phinity318: i dy gbadun ur job in 3D HD FULL 1020p..Full HD is 1080p bro; 1080p. ![]() |
staddos: Hi Olenyi and other gurus in the house, which satellite is best to use for ones settings during installation of amotorised system? Is it Rascom-QAFR @ 2.9 degrees on C band or Astra 4A/SES-5 @ 4 degrees on ku band? Does it really matter if you use C band or Ku band since there is only one Clarke's belt on which we have all satellites. In your experience which do you recommend? Guys your views would be greatly appreciated. What's the size of ur dish? If its a 1.8 and u intend using ku, u could use intelsat 20ku and nss7 as ur reference points. For a bigger dish say 2.4m, use intelsat 906 3642 V 8545 for ur east and cnn 3983 V 25000 for ur west and intelsat 10-02 4025 V 7324 for ur middle point as ur reference points. Regards. |

ezo4fta: Pls gurus help me...on my 90cm dish with a 2 in 1 discovering lnbf, one facing multi tv(with quality of 90%) and the other facing dstv(with quality of 79%,78%,77% and 72% on various tps.) But my mbc on dstv with 72% quality is always freezing in d evening .pls help me...Noticed dat myself someday back. Could be from a lot of factors. Regards. |
pboy2buzy: 5).Cctv9----dstv position(36'E)Ur intelsat 20 signals are poor compared to ur dish size. I believe this is from ur lnb skew/dish alignment. But it can be managed. Regards. |
Surprisingly, I used my 4669XII decoder and couldn't hit green on Irib. But when I replaced with 4922A,the green came.
@pboy2busy. Do take note. @obnelly, How far about ur irib hunt. Do update us. Regards. |
