Now that is going to limit your use of the dish. Though I don't have a pix for u, you could attach your C-Band lnb above your ku lnb and a little to the right on a flat iron bar of about 6 - 10 inches to the ku lnb holder and pick cnn signals with 3983 V 25000 (that is if u're not already getting it on ur nilesat).

First, lets deal with dishes of 1.8m and above.

Using a c band lnb on a big dish greatly multiplies the number of channels at ones disposal. So for people with this dishes, adding a C-band to your ku and also motorising it is of great advantage.

To kick off (assuming your dish is already assembled), get out your Lnb from the pack. you'll also find a a piece of fiber glass included inside the box. This is called the ''dielectric''. This is always inserted inside the mouth of the C-Band lnb especially if you are tracking ''circular'' signals.

''Linear'' signals in C-band are signals that have ''v'' or ''H'' as their polarization. Even Ku signals are ''linear'' signals. And as u would have noticed with ur ku signals, doesn't need the insertion of the dielectric inside the throat of the lnb. Eg is intelsat 20 C-band signals.

Whereas the signals with ''R'' or ''L'' polarization are known as circular signals/polarization and requires the insertion of the dielectric.

If u mean MBC 1, 2, 3, etc. Not possible for u. U'll need a much bigger dish. By the way, what's ur location; Dats a factor to be considered also.

But if u want the alternate mbc from africa (with some sporting programs thrown in), then track ew36'e (Dstv position - the procedure is already well spelt out on this thread). Gives u even cnn, and co.

basmong: I own one of these stbs, but of recent can't enjoy the full benefits of fta cos it reduces signal quality, don't know if it is so with others. I use 4669 to track @ 85 percent only to connect it and get 51 percent. Pls can gurus help us out. I can't watch complete dstv package. Thanx.

Go ahead and discard it and use ur 69x. Or make use of it as it is. Nothing u can do bro.

Pls help, my USB drive of 1GB is reading 0.9m as displayed by Window...

Let me try. We all know that when memory devices are labeled, their capacity are most times rounded off to the nearest highest denomination/whatever that is.

So if its reading 900MB, its still Ok. But if its reading 0.9m as in 900kb, then something is wrong.

ebena107: Thanks Ole'nyi. I selected eutesat 16e(16E) and used 12216v27500 to track Amos 5. I was able to strike 60%green and later inserted Tp 11008v30000 to scan for Daar sat stations. I was successful but I couldn't get Daar station signal strength beyond 30%.

Glad u could get it. If the Ait is not cracking, watch it like dat. I believe u're using a 60cm dish as even on 90cm, the signal is around 50-60%.
