morainez: @olenyi i have 4940 hd which does not support keys and i am thinking if i can connect it to my old 4663 since 4663 can support keys to enable me access irib
Doesn't work that way bro. If you most use biss, then you might want to get a new receiver. You could sell off the 4940.

What of your polarity? Make sure its right. Also don't use only one freq. Try out all the tv feed freq's to see if it will pop.

pboy2buzy: Please house am contemplating of cuttin d head of my ku band lnb to increase signal.....I need advise if it wud b of any help................d picz below is a bad(non working) lnb I used to experiment..............so house wil it b of any help to cut it?
Increase the signal on what sat exactly? Or u just want to cut for cutting sake? The lnb u have is, if am not mistaken, an ordinary strong lnb. And if I can guess right, you used to pick a sat within our coverage area and not a fringe sat. That's why am asking if you just want to cut for cutting sake.

And by the way, what you just did was to remove the plastic cover. To cut, you have to cut the funnel shaped bottom of the lnb.

Kingsley Jay: NO YOU CAN'T

U could be wrong bro. The way I see it; we are still in 20006. And considering that this is a true life story, and the life in question is still being lived. Now check from 2006 to 2013 and spilling forward into 2014 (we're already at the tail end of this year), he could very well push it to 1000 pages and above. As long as he still has the time.

And U've forgotten that its not only ZUBY's posts dat is needed to push it that far as even our comments also count. grin

Am just wondering how this will all end.
Please I've bought a Splitter. I want to connect two cables to one C-Band LNB(Single solution type). My question is, should I connect the splitter to the C-Band Lnb before connecting the two cables to the splitter? Or should I connect only one cable to the C-Band Lnb, and thereafter split the signal to the two receivers? I want explanation on how to go about with the splitter. I've read from this forum that, a splitter can't be used for a satellite which contains channels that have both H/V polarisation. I'm told unless I use it for example Multi tv whose channels have only 'V' polarization. How true is this claim? I'm using the splitter for Irib channels. I welcome more expert advice and explanation. Thanks
Not even for ''H'' or ''V'' stations. It only works for one frequency alone. The frequency of the channel on the first decoder you put on will be the only frequency/channels that will show on the second receiver. The receivers need to be on the same channel line up of the same frequency for the two to work.

Why not go for a dual view C-Band lnb.
