Na wao for una self! One is surprised at how some people here have through a single picture have concluded that, those kids do not go to school or that they should be at school. Una know if that day na holiday or saturday or after school or no school day? I really do not see anything wrong with it, as long as the parent is balancing the whole thing. Little enterprises like these is what make the difference between having super and sleeping with empty belly in some families. I still remember when I was young in 9ja, I was involved in all these. I hawk all kind of things after school and it did not affect my education one bit. I was still the kid that took first in school and now that I am old, when I look back, I did not see how it affects me in anyway at all. |
afam4eva:The main purpose of these State Department travel warnings/publications is not prevent America Citizens from visiting certain Countries or Places, These warnings serves about three purposes, 1. It is the duty of the State Department to put out these warnings. They are bound by law to warn American Citizens abroad of the dangers they might face in those places, so they are just fulfilling their day to day task, 2. They are also trying to limit their liability should any Citizen who fall victim in those countries/places or their relatives sue the State Department for failing to discharge their duties to warn them of the dangers in visiting such places, 3. Insurance Companies in the US use these publications to reprice their risks portfolio (e.g. It will now be more expensive if someone traveling to Nigeria to get a traveller life insurance coverage and life insurance premium the Oil companies in those regions pay on behave of their workers might be repriced upward) and it might determine their liabilities to a previously insured American, who despite these warnings venture into those places and met with harms and his relatives ack in the USA want to cash in on the person's accident/life insurance policy. At the end of the day, these warnings does not prevent majority of travelers who need to visit these places, after-rall the US have not diplomatic ties with Iran for many years now and the US consider that Country one of the axes of evil but we still hear of America Citizen going to that Country for hiking and ending up getting detained by the Iranian government. So, relax it is all well. |
UgoBabe:NYC have a land area of about 305 square miles with about 34,500 Police officers, you can do the maths. I could not find any figure for Lagos, but according to wikipedia writing about Nigeria stated that , "By 1983, according to the federal budget, the strength of the NPF was almost 152,000, but other sources estimated it to be between 20,000 and 80,000. Reportedly, there were more than 1,300 police stations nationwide", Even if you double the higher Nigeria number(152,000) for a land area of 351,649 square miles, i.e. about one Nigeria Police for one square land mile area, but NYC is about 113 police officers for one square land mile area, I ignored all variables like how officers are on leave, in investigative duties, vacation, etc, because it will be a wash between both places. |
stagger:I think you failed to get the main point behind the alert, agreed more people get killed in NYC maybe than awaywhere else (I believe that is wrong, because I know camden nj is one of the worst in the USA, but that is not the main topic here), but majority of those deaths are gang against gang violence, drug dealing gone wrong, gangs trying to route out another gang, gangs seeking revenge, etc, If you remove gang violence plus the population density of NYC, you will discover it is a safe place to go. Plus the Police is easily accessible in NYC, There are about 10-20 Police in each city block, NYPD patrol cars everywhere and COPs on horse, etc that you really do not have to dial 911 to report a crime, if you walk a block you fine a Police to report the crime to or they might have seen the crime in action and they will be engaged immediately plus there are cameras all over, these attributes discourages crime alot. If you have 1/1000000th of that Police presence in Lagos, I do not mean Police mounting road block or uniform men going home from work or going to the Office or guiding a particular building or Property, I mean Nigerian Police of MOPE deployed along Marina Road, CMS, etc primariry to protect the citizens and fight crimes, Lagos would be a safe price and the slow Police response in Nigeria is one thing pointed out the alert. Moreso, if the majority of the killings, kidnappings, crimes in Nigeria are gangs against gangs like it is in NYC; Lagos and Nigeria will be a safe place and there will be no need for the above alert, after-all if they want to kill-off each other, it appear to be better for everyone else, |
Sun of god:I do not think it is that terrible, on the contrary this is good news for Nigeria and the world in general. The world population will hit 7 billion this month, if you look at the numbers on the surface, you might be shocked, but if you go deeper; you will find out that the population explosion is coming from Africa, Pakistan and India. Sub-sahara Africa alone contributes about 900 million to the world population. Agreed, there will be challenges in terms of food, roads, housing, health, etc, But the good news is, developed countries like Brazil, Japan are populating at a negative rate, for a Country to maintain her population with a zero net increase or decrease, there must be an average of two children to one lady. Brazil and Japan are below this average and Nigeria is at about 5 children/woman. So Nigeria will have to pickup the challenge and start educating the population now, I see a future where the color of the world will gradually start turning black and black and with that, Power/wealth might be expected to start shifting gradually from the Whiteman to the Blackman. If the power shift does not occur naturally, then there will bound to be a confrontation between the powerful rich white folks and the populous black folks, the result of this confrontation might be either equal power/wealth sharing, Black subduing the White and becoming the dominant race or the White gaining full control of the black and lead blacks to slavery 2.0. There is alot of theories out there that, the whiteman have long saw this trend and they have been planning many things to curtail or slow down the growth rate of black population. Some points to the origin of AIDs and the experiment that lead to it in Africa as one of those efforts and while serving in Nigeria years ago, I have friends that do not believe that AIDs is real or are not careful to protect themselves and they ended been casualties and there are alot of people like that today. For many Jesus would come before this time, for others a giant meteorite will destroy the earth before it come to that, but for others, they will focus on educating their kids and giving them the best today, believing that they will leave the world a better place for their kids. |
dayokanu:The whole of the last paragraph was dedicated to the Lagos State alone. Lagos is prominently mentioned in the alert and given more space and details than the other States, so I do not know what you guys are saying, |
odumchi:I now recall when you guys made those exampls. My Igbo is of the Anambra dialect, but I understand the Imo Igbo very well, when spoken. |
"AT the instance ofa love relationship that went sour, a young man has committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree near his house in the early hours of Friday. This, interestingly, is the latest in a chain of suicides that are assuming an alarming frequency and dimension in the land. The deceased, Nurudeen, a middle-aged Hausa man who lived near both the Nigerian Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) office and a State Security Service (SSS) quarters situated at Link Reservation Area, Onireke, Ibadan, had returned home from work on Thursday night complaining to his neighbour about his lover's constant late arrival from work, a development he attributed to a possible liaison between her and another man lately. This fuelled a bitter row between Nurudeen, a bricklayer by profession, whose father reportedly works as a fashion designer in Sabo area of Ibadan, and his lover. According to the neighbour, who spoke to Saturday Tribune under the condition of anonymity, "Nurudeen came to my 'boys quarter' at a few minutes to 7:00 p.m expressing worries that his lover, Mariam, had not arrived from work as she was wont to do lately. I told him not to bother himself but to take things calmly, assuring him that there was no need to suspect her for what he had no concrete evidence about. Not satisfied with my advice, he walked away angrily. But shortly after he left my room, I heard Mariam's voice nearby, signalling her arrival. What followed was a round of quarrels. After a futile attempt to settle the quarrel between them, I reported them to some NDLEA men nearby who intervened and helped to restore some measure of peace." http://odili.net/news/source/2011/oct/16/604.html Is it love, lust, foolishness, immaturity, what do you think?, Is it even worth it inflicting some bodily harms on yourself if your soulmate and the one love dearly cheat on you? |
dipo+:At least, I know what I am saying; the fact it is rampant in online forums does not mean it is legal, and it does means you should hang your struggles in the balance, Cisco is very serious about this and they are making scapegoats of cheaters by revoking certificates and closing down prometric test centers. I am a CCIE of many years and work myself up from ccna, ccda, ccnp, ccdp, etc; so I know what I am talking about. If you have read this article: http://www.networkworld.com/newsletters/edu/2008/040708ed1.html getting these certifications is hard enough and difficult, it is not proper for anyone to loss due to cheating. I will recommend you join some forums dedicated to pure Cisco stuff, like www.groupstudy.com. It will be advisable you create a brand new email address and use that to sign up, because they will bomber you alot of emails about people asking Cisco questions and people responding to those question. At first you might be intimated by the level of sophistications of the questions and responses, do not despaire, keep at it and very soon you will become comfortable to start asking your own questions, do not be discourage if people call your questions dumb and stupid, |
odumchi:I thought 'Ahumgi' is more like 'I see you or I saw you'? I did not see you, should sound more like, 'Ahumrogi', my spelling might be way off, but it appear you are missing the negation, |
alj_harem:You forget say Nigeria censor dey count all the cows wey dey for north join? Try add the cows, you go see say true true we don reach 200mil. |
@Aro_007, Dude, I am simply warning you that, it is a dumb thing to be associating yourself with dumps/actualtest in an online forum. these online forums are indexed and optimized for search engines and in many cases, you cannot take back what you have posted even if you wish to. So, you are exposing yourself to liabilities that would extend into the unforeseen able future. Dumps are copyright infringements on the original owners contents and you must have signed that agreement/NDA with Cisco, no one is going to arrest you and do not be fool headed and post your Cisco-ID to further complicate your position, from what I see, you are trying to get some company level certifications with Cisco. if Cisco found out you used actualtest dumbs towards your certifications, you will be ban and your certification will be revoked and believe me, Cisco Security team monitors online furums and the Internet like hawk and they many people/Companies have seen their efforts, struggles and labor goto waste because their certications were revoked and they were banned from taking Cisco exams. |
Do you know that, what you are trying to do is cheating and can lead to you or anyone involved losing their certification? |
Those who claimed to be Christians here, but still advocates that condom encourages or lead to sin does not know their Bible as they should, The Bible says, he that lust after another woman in his heart has committed adultery/fornication. You do not have to engage in any physical act, before been adjoined a sinner. I do not see how condom encourages that. Before people (married with their spouse, or married/single with someone else) thinks of condom, they would have planed the act in their mind before heading to buy the stuff. Those who put it in their wallets for 'emergencies' already thought it out. Before God, buying the rubber is not when you committed the sin, it is long before that point. So, the goal of Christians should be to spread the gospel, no Christian have the power to convert a single soul. Asking sinners not to fornicate or steal before they accept Christ as their saviour is preaching the law before grace. Sinners, cannot stop been sinners until they encounter the power and grace of God that will give them power to overcome their sins. So advocating against the use of condom is shortsightedness if Christians engage in it, because the truth is, you have not achieved anything, because that soul is still lost. Save your strength and preaching the saving grace to that person and the holy spirit will do his work. Some people use Vaseline, hand towel, toilet paper also; is it sin to import those also? The bottom line is; married people uses rubber and it is not sin, and if you have made up your mind to sin, using it outside marriage saves lives. The longer a sinner lives, the more his/her chances of getting saved/born-again becomes; so those you preach to today and they are not ready to accept christ, pray they live to get another opportunity. I used to engaged in evangelism in villages in Nigeria, where idol worship is rampant, as a rule we never encourage people to burn their idols until they are saved and born again, because it is a dangerous thing to do, if they are not saved, they do not have the power to resist the devil and many who burn their idols and devilish regales before becoming save paid with their lives, the same thing with this condom thing. If the individual is not born again, your advocacy against condom is not going to stop him/her from sinning, the unintended consequent of your advocacy might lead him to his untimely death, thereby drastically shortening his/her opportunities to get saved. Some people believe that, HIV and STDs are a curse from God on mankind, because of our evil ways, and they punishments to those who engage in such act, therefore using protection is a way of bypassing God's wrath and punishment. The truth, if God intended on punishing anyone, you cannot doge it, He will get u and their are many other deadly diseases that one get without involvement in any kind of evil or sin, are those God's punishment too? Finally, I am not saying Christians should start advocating for condom use, I am simply saying advocating against it's use does not save a single soul and it could shortsighted. The big question now is, how should Christians response to people who approach them on condom use? My approaches simple and not different from the answer I will give to a thieft who approached me and ask , 'Sir, I am a thieft and I want to rob the Bank across the street, but they have a lot of cameras, should I wear a mask to seal my identity or should I not bother?, my response will be, God does not care if you cover your face or not, sin is sin, repent and accept Christ as your saviour. Sometimes, somethings are best if we leave them alone, there are certain questions that are best you do not ask, I leave you guys/gals with, this other complicated biblical topic, which despite the fact that it is widely covered and mentioned in bible, still leaves a lot Christians dumbfounded on what to do when confronted, not to talk of condoms which are not mentioned in the bible, have some legitimate uses, saves lives, etc, The question is, "Is it sinful for a Christian to eat meat sacrificed to idols?", your quick response might be, "hell yes, it is sinful", My answer is, it depends, read the below bible references and enjoy, Acts 15:29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 10:20-21 , the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. Romans 14:14 As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. 1 Corinthians 10:25-27 (also 1 Cor 8:4- ![]() Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it." If some unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. |

good forum, some nice ideas and info here, |
@spyer880, I just joined the forum and had been following your building progress, how much have you invested in it so far? I was very careful not to say 'spent', because it is actually investment, |
That is even more expensive than what it cost in the US where Nigeria export oil to. In the US, the average price is about $3.50/gallon, assuming exchange rate is N160/$1; i.e. N560/gallon or about N125/litre. |
If you keep the same thing, do not be surprise; if you keep getting the same result. MOD of Nigeria for the past two decades is to sack the National Coach after a bad performance, have those sacks brought us different results. Agreed, people have right to be angry, the Coach and players have a share of the blame for losing out from the Nations Cup. The Players would be hurt the most, because the English League usually go on a little break during this period to allow Africans playing abroad to represent their countries, Mikel, Osaze and all those bigs names will be shamed when they see their fellow Africans representing their countries and they are idling out. The will miss the exposure, the match bonuses, etc, Leave the Coach, let them learn from their mistakes and leak their wounds. |
