Oletunow:The correct link for the software is, http://bak2u.com/phonebakbbpro.html It has a trial version, I believe the cost after the trial is about $25, as a disclaimer I am not affiliated with this product. I searched it online and think it is a good theft deterrent tool. |
I do not see this helping once your phone is stolen, But the good news is, you can frustrated or even catch whoever stole your blackberry, You can set your blackberry to send you text message with GPS coordinates, tracking the phone, etc, even resend command to deletes the new person's contacts, emails, etc, in fact you can continue to harass them and know that location until they return your phone, http://bak2u.com/freewarepro.html |
Is this a normal practice in Nigeria for women to stay in hospital 9 days after delivery?, here you r good to go on the 2nd day for normal delivery and 3 days for Cesarean section delivery, it is also interesting that both babies were nine days old, I pray the babies are safe, they should look into these women background; if they are clean and have not exchange the babies for some favors through this means so that the public & families eyes should be deflected from them, then this is a bad sign pointing to some ritual people, I pray it is not ritual, that it is either the mothers complacency or a barren woman somewhere that needs a baby, with this we know the babies are safe and alive somewhere. |
$tunna:She must've be dillusional if she thought she was buying an original iPhone 4S 32g for $160; When the original cost about $750 without a contract and $300 with a two years contract. It was cheap for a reason and the only reason was that, it was an obvious fake, I just sold my used iPhone 4 16g for $325; it isn't a 4S and not 32g and even used, but it was twice the price of her new 'iPhone 4S 32g'. |
I do not see the point of the outrage on the path of David Mark here, The British Prime Minister is right in what he said, Nigeria is a Sovereign nation and have the right to pass laws it see fit, the international community also have the right and freedom of expression to react positively or negatively to those laws as they do on laws and human right violations from other countries, and the British have the right to withhold aids to Nigeria on account of this, Nigeria can keep the law, international community can react however they see fit and Britain can keep their cash and aids, nothing spoil. |
fyneguy:With incessant power supply issue and poor internet backbone connection, the prospect of hosting the .ng top level domain locally in Nigeria would be a nightmare, I can host it for a far cheaper amount in distributed servers across the America & UK with super high internet bandwidth and 99.99999 availability for fraction of the cost of hosting it in Nigeria. |
I don't see this law standing the test of a drawn out court case, This is the same Nigeria, where the government with all its might and resources still manage to employ robbers as Policemen and other criminal elements in various government positions. Armed robbers and kidnappers do not come with stickers on their face and in Nigeria, background checks can be whatever you want it to be depending on the amount of money paid to the police. Most carrier Armed Robbers & Kidnappers are well to do people who have legitimate employments or verifiable businesses in town. It is the job of the government to police the society and rid it off of criminal elements, the public should assist the government in this task keeping their safety and that of their family as the singular factor that would determine the exact of their involvement. The concept behind this law is good and it appear to be a page from the the Banking industry, "know your customer" law, but Nigeria is not ripe for this, |
The post from the original poster is inaccurate, if you actually count USA national awards, it might be more than that of Nigeria, Just taking two US awards, 1. Presidential Medal of Honor (Obama 31, Bush 81 & Clinton 88) = 200 in just about 11 yrs, 2. Medal of Honor, which is lower than Presidential Medal of Honor - the ratio is 1 Presidential Medal of Honor to about 240 Medal of Honors, That aside, wetin dey pain una? na becos no bi una get the award? una just dey react the same kind of reaction wey some students go react towards the kid that took first position and collected all the prizes, Abeg make una leave award talk better thing, Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_Medal_of_Freedom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidential_Medal_of_Freedom_recipients |
aurenflani:You bad oh!, so na for my mouth you wan for hear say no bi vote wey dem count for election day na him make GEJ President, and that Buhari must be commended for showing up at all, knowing fully well, that the results of the elections have been decided behind close doors and based on that decision, he had lost the election before a single vote was cast and there is nothing he can do about it. |
cap28:I hear you, the truth is sometime very bitter, the unfortunate truth is, Kidnapping in Nigeria is no longer restricted to expatiates, a friend the other day told me that his father in the village was kidnapped along with someone else. His father was released after the Son in Canada paid a very huge ransom, The other man that was kidnapped was not so lucky, he was killed even after his children paid the ransom. This is a very small town, after the body was discovered the Police went into action and caught the bastards, they confessed that, they had to kill the other guy because he recognized them and these bastards are from the same town. Kidnapping is like a vocational job for some of these jobless and criminal minded youths in Nigeria. They see it as an easy score compared to robing a bank where they have to face brute force. They comb the town in search of someone who 'done make am' or people who get pickin them wem 'done make am' and they strike. USA aside, we have a huge problem in Nigeria and the onus is on our government to tackle it. Ignoring of minimizing it is not going to solve it, |
There is no guarantees in life, except off-course the guarantee that we will die one day. |
spyder880:@Spyder880, Have you thought of writing a book with all these details starting from this specific building plan, drawings, pictures and guild the novice through each stage of the building project and what to do and expect on each stage? Even if it is an ebook, it will benefit alot of people and I will be the first person to buy that book. Alot of things you are dishing out here are valuable and I would have love to see it as a book on my book shelf. Agreed, with time alot of things like cost would change, but the basic building stages will remain the same. Abeg make you seriously think about am, I go even fit pay for my copy in advance. The title could be some like, "Building 5 Storey Duplex from the ground up in Nigeria for dummies" or "Do it yourself guild to Building 5 Storey Duplex from ground up in Nigeria", or anything, The book definitely will not be a replacement to get a building plan or to hire professional, it would be a guide on how and when to do all these things and the pitfalls to avoid and believe me, between the two building trends of yours that I have subscribed to here, you have 90% of the contents of the book already. |
martinosi:The USA hold the ace here, if USA insist and hold theirs that China stops manipulating ther and allow the yen's value to be determined by market forces, the attraction to China and the cheap labor it offers will evaporate over night and USA companies would no longer find it attractive to ship labor there. Alternatively, since the US is the largest consumer of products manufactured in China and due to the very low wages in China, alot of Chinesse citizens can not afford these products they manufacture, the USA can increase import duties and taxes on goods coming from China, thereby making it less attritive as an input source, this will further force the US manufacturers to seek other comparatives places to manufacture goods at a very low cost. If only Africa can take serious the issue of electricity, they will stand to benefit in this big fight. At this time, two big ideologies aka the GOP and Dems controls the US policy, but if unemployment inches towards 40%, believe me, there will be a huge voters backlash and the US policy makers listens to voters swiftly, if they speak through the power of the ballot box. |
The answer to your problem is very simple, Sometimes, you have to say No to good and close friends to preserve that relationship. Alot of people have suggested you use your girlfriend of some female friends, that is not necessary. What you have indicated, your friend is an adult, call him tell him how you feel man to man; tell him you are not happy that he brought his girlfriend without clearing it from you first. If you do not like friends bringing girls to your place, tell him you do not like it. Tell him to make sure he/his girlfriend washes the dishes whenever they finish eating. Tell him that he is inconveniencing you and putting you in a very difficult position by what he is doing he should stop it. Believe me, that is not going to spoil your relationship, he might not be happy immediately, or will out of annoyance move out or say somethings in the line of, 'it is because they are in your house, ?' calmly tell him no, that yourself live by those rules and they should have no problem living by them. If he does not now, in the future, he will understand and appreciate the fact that you were forthright with him and if he is a true friend, he will remain your friend. I have said alot of difficult Nos in my lifetime and I did not regret any of them. At least, even the golden rule in the Bible did not say, we should love our neighbors more than ourselves, it say, we should love them as we love ourselves. |
ghostofsparta:How does bail money work in Nigeria? I was not accustom to its workings before I left, It is my understanding that, it is a surety to guarantee the person appearance in court until the case is resolved either through a final judgement of the court or settlement among the parties, i.e. if a bail money of say =N=500,000.00 is set and a surety in landed properties is asked for by the court, it simply means the person will be released without paying any kobo, but if he/she fails to show up at the next court date or subsequent court date and the court did not lift the bail, then at that time the person must pay the =N=500,000.00 (or percentage of it depending on how the bail was set) or the person will forfeit the landed property used as guarantee, Do not tell me that someone have to write a check for =N=500k before being released, because that would be fraud, it is like buying your freedom when you have not been proven guilty and what stops the police or the government from trumpeting up charges/arrests and releasing people of bail after paying small small bail money, only not to follow through with the case and repeat the whole scenario again and again in a revenue or retaliation drive? |
Builder:If what you quoted above are your concerns why he should loss and you are rational about it, who in the current GOP line-up is going to close Gitmo or refrain from invading other countries or accept Palestine Statehood?, The Answer is a BIG NONE! All the GOP candidates will oppose everything you just mentioned. At least you saw in Obama someone that is willing to do those things, but he have a strong GOP opposition in congress, point of correction, Obama never deny Palestinian Statehood, he is a strong supporter of the two state solution. |
Given the current economic realities in the the US and unemployment at 9.1%, this election is the GOP's to lose. The funny thing though is the GOP are losing this election even before the start of the contest. The advert of the Tea Party and inability of the GOP candidates to be shaken from the shackles of these few extreme right wing Tea Party folks would be their undoing during the general election. The GOP candidates are running way too to the extreme right that they are going to loose the independents in the middle. Any GOP candidate that wins the primary, must run to the center before they have a shot at winning the general, but they would have to offend alot of the Tea Party folks and be bold enough to relinquish some of their demands, and none of the GOP frontrunner candidates have been able to do that. As much as Romney is the favorites to win the GOP nod, he has to content with evangelicals who made make the majority of the GOP base cross the isle and go and vote for a Mormon. All evangelicals/Christians have considered Mormon to be a occult, so it will not be surprising to see some Christians who would have voted GOP sitting out this election. So, as much as the current economic situation is Obama's bags, the GOP field have its own devils to confront. If a gun is put to my head, I would tip the election in Obama's favor. |
@BlackLibya, I am not saying that GE does not manufacture weapons, All am saying is that, they rank at the bottom of the table, see the list of world weapon manufacturers and % of their total sales that is weapon oriented, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_contractor Liberals fights war to defend the country or response to attacks. They do not advocate wars, e.g. If a Liberal was the President at the time, it would have been harder to go into Iraq, Yes, they would have not hesitated in going into Afghanistan, since OBL that masterminded the 911 attacks were given sanctuary there, on another note, had McCain won the Presidency, Iran would have been over-ran, if the GOP takes the White House in 2012, the drum against Iran will become louder, |
So why dem come dey deceive our eye with train picture from Portugal? http://www.pbase.com/clements/image/44317619 Na wah for 9ja Journalist self, so una no fit take the 9ja train & the stations picture? abi the thing too wowo to show people for internet? |
@BlackLibya, I will like to know where you got your data from, I think you must have meant General dynamics and not GE. GE is not a serious player in weapon manufacturing, weapons represent only about 3% of their sales. General dynamics does not have any association with MSNBC, so there is no upside for GE or MSNBC in this war. More so, they are liberal bias and liberals are not war crusaders like conservatives. Foxnews/Rupert Murdock are big conservative political players and influencers wherever their empire is found in the global and as such they do not care for the current US administration, they are the 2nd largest media organization in the world, surpassed only by Disney and they give the administration less favorable reporting compare to MSNBC. |
@xcolanto, wanted to remind that, the Arab League also supported the invasion of Libya, infact they were the one that brought the idea to the western countries and supported it in the US. |
@xcolanto, I really respect your opinions, but I must say that that a lot of them have no foundation in facts, many are based on half-truths and the rest are mere insinuations, First, you cannot loped all developed countries (France, US, Greece, etc) and call them 'Western Countries that have a singular goal'. That is the heights of stereotyping, It is like me hearing my coworkers here based on some documentaries they might have watched, concluding that the whole of Africa is full of jungles and lions roams the street. These Countries are diverse, they have different unique objectives, even the US is not derived by a singular goal. The US is made of ideological groups, we have the conservatives, the liberals, the libertarian, etc, Each US government policy is shaped by the executive, the legislative, judiciary and the media (called the 4th estate). None of these four entities reports or are influenced by the other and many times they have conflicting views, opinions, etc, I personally believe that, the judiciary aka The Supreme Court being the keepers of the United Constitution is the highest body that owns the US, because they can over-rule the executive branch, block laws passed by the legislative branch in the name of 'it contravene the constitution', or check the media, but they are cautious, they do not over-rule the other forms of governments with easy. If you leave in the US, you will realize that, there is nothing like a united uniformed US policy, e.g. a congressman took the Obama Administration to court suing to stop the US's involvement with NATO during the Libya invasion, not a picture of a united US policy you must agree. Your rant about CNN being a tool by the government is baseless and shows your ignorant about how the 4th estate operates in the US. There are three major TV news power houses in the US, Foxnews, NBC & CNN. These three big ones just like the rest of American e.g. the Executive, Legislators, Judiciary and American citizens are driven by ideology, Foxnews have a conservative bias in their news reporting, they would bash the Obama Administration on almost anything, they hold the feets of the Obama administration to the fire and the government is very careful about her dealings, the government cannot tell them what to report or not to report, the media and every American citizen have a constitutional right to freedom of expression and the government cannot do anything about it, the reason Foxnews is forceful and vocal against the current government is because, the administration is lead by a liberal (Democrat) and Foxnews is conservative biased in their reporting, NBC is liberal biased, they love the current administration, they criticize it when the government's policy are tinting more towards conservatives and not liberal policies and ideas, CNN is in the middle of the road, you find reporters in CNN that are neutral, others are more conservative and some are liberal, but the average rating of CNN is neutral. If you assertions that the government controls CNN is true, why then do you depend on google to find your facts? The last time I checked, Google is a Western company and if the US government controls all information through her media e.g. they will be foolish not to censor google as well. E.g. you have google in China as well, but just like the media in China, google is also censored, every search result you get from google in china is what the government there want you to see or know about, except you use some proxy services. If China is doing it, the US government would have also done it, if their goal is to control information flow. Your rant about US wanting to double cross China & Russia because the main trading partners of Libya is China and Russia and the US not wanting China to become the superior power invaded Libya to spoil their trade or progress with China is nonsense. China & Russia are permanent members of the UN security Council and the both voted to authorize the invasion of Libya. All it would have take to stop that UN vote would have been either China or Russia voting NO and the deal will be dead in the water. If your assertions are correct, you are in essence saying that China connived with the US and voted against their own progress and empowerment, you see how stupid that sound, right? You also mentioned US spending billions fighting this war why her economy needed this money the most to get on track. It appear you do not understand how the whole economy works or how the US government works. Left to the Obama Administration, the economic recession in the US would have been over by now. All economies works and revolves around supply and demand. If there is a recession, it is merely because the demand is very weak. during economy contractions, companies stop hiring in order to converse liquid assets. When companies stop hiring in an exploding population, that means more people are out of work, if more people are out of work, it means that the few that are working must extend to help their family members that are out of work until they find their feet, when that happens, demands goes down, because the people that are working, no longer want to spend more, they have other obligations now, when demand goes down, Companies goods pile up in warehouses, the company will slow down labor and production waiting to clear the goods in the warehouse, when company reduce labor and production, that means layoff for works, less pay for the once working, meaning lower and lower demand, this circle will go on and on until the supply and demand curve gets to an equilibrium and everyone becomes optimistic and the economy start booming again, The reason I went into the above details is for this, the art of war is one of the easiest ways of shocking an economy out of recession. The bombs used in war were manufactured long time ago, they are even aging in the warehouse, wars provide an opportunity to get ride of that, then manufacturing will start to produce new ones, defense budget will increase, companies will start hiring again because the government have created a big demand for labor, products and services, So the millions spend in the Libya fight did not hurt the US economy, moreso the government is facing resistance in the US to pump more money into the economy, since the executive controls wars and foreign policies without much intervention from the legislative and judiciary branch of government, it is a vital avenue to stimulate the economy. Remember that, Western companies would also start hiring and making supplies to build the cities and places that have been bombed, Libya just like every other Country or part of the world that have Islamic banking originates zero percentage interest loans, it is done in Northern Nigeria and virtually all the Arab Countries, so it is nothing unique to Libya that the west is 'mad' about. If you ask me, 0% interest loans is like building a house of card, give it time it will collapse on it own. Because it does not take the price of money into account. Money depreciates each year in proportion to inflation, =N=10,000.00 in 2011, might be just equal to maybe =N=100,000.00 in 10 years from now, because of inflation, we see it happen everyday in Nigeria, what was the cost of an egg in Nigeria 10 years ago? and what is its price today?, so the idea of loaning someone =N=100,000.00 today and asking that person to payback only =N=100,000.00 in 10 years time is idiotic (because you will be collecting only =N=10k and not the original =N=100k that was loaned out). The only backing the Libyans have today is the hope that the oil wells will keep pumping out oils, so the government can afford to keep the house of cards going and sustaining the lost, as we all know, oil does not last forever and when a population is used to free money, when hard times hit and you want to change it, it will be difficult to do. I agree that innocent civilians were injured or killed during this invasion and that Gadaffi did some good things, but he also did a lot of bad things. There are stories of people he tortured, killed, check you liable source 'google'. You mention Syria, Yemen and Bahrain and saying that the US government did not intervened there because they did not have oil or anything to gain? The last time I checked, those Countries also have Oil. It is also surprising that you did not mention Iran, because during the last Iranian election there was an upraising that was forcefully crushed down by the government there and the US was not also involved despite the fact that Iran has one of the largest Oil reserves. The reason is simple, there are many ideologies in the US; had the GOP been in power and not liberals, the US would have been in war with Iran and it is safe to say if the GOP takes over, Iran will not the next bus stop, reason? different ideology and not a singular united goal forms US foreign policies. |
BlackLibya:I think you misunderstood me, to answer your question directly, the UN mandate was that all "all necessary measures" should be taken to protect civilians and civilian centers, They were definitely protecting the civilians against someone or some group of persons and as such, they are taking sides, the realities of war clearly shows that some innocent civilians and properties pay the ultimate price, Now back to my previous post, the OP was talking about the Gaddafi family taking NATO to the Hages and my post was addressing the legal ramifications of that case and the laws with which it is going to be addressed. If they were suing NATO for killing innocent civilians that would be a different story, but it could easily be argued that, those innocent civilians were unintended casualties. The Courts of Justice deals with "Justice to the Law", they look at the law of the day and apply it, they do not deal with justice to the people that is not construed within the law or look at what is 'good' or 'bad' and morally rights. Judges do not have personal discretion in deciding cases, they have rules they have to follow, in certain situations, they only have sentencing guidelines in the sentencing phase, after the question of quilt/innocent have been answered that gives them ranges of options and they can use their discretion then, So there are a lot of bad and immoral things that had been done in the past as enumerated in your post, but at that time, it was the law and justice to the law then demands that those things though immoral and bad should be done that way. |
xcolanto:The invasion of Liyba by NATO is 100% legal and it will be upheld in the Hages. The UN Security Council voted to authorize the invasion. Gadaffi and his sons were indicted in The Hages and Interpol was given the authority to arrest them. Agreed, he would not have been killed after he was captured alive. But there is no evidence that it was NATO or their mercenaries that captured him or killed him. The purpose of the lawsuite in the Hages by his family is just to get publicity, it does not have substance. You definitely do not have a first hand knowledge about what really took place in Liyba, what made you think that your sources are more reliable than CNN or the western media that had journalist in Liyba who spoke with people ther? Yes, the guy must have been good to some section of his people, all dictators in history do not hate everyone, else they would not hold to power for too long, they need protection hence they have to be good to some. Alot of Liybans died during this fight against Gadaffi and many rejoiced in the street when they heard he has been captured/killed. These are real Liyba people and not mercenaries, he were that good to them, they would not have easily turn their back on him. |
Ibo-made:Commuting 23hrs between Lagos & Ilorin, a distant of about 269km is a BIG STEP in the WRONG DIRECTION, meaning the train will only cover a distant of about 11.7km every one hour, while the average human being can walk about 7km/hr or jog about 10km/hr, you can see how this is totally a step huge step in the wrong direction, And for those cheering that no more highway robber, this is even worst, at that speeds robbers on foot can jump in and out of the train at will, |
Evil Brain:Your picture is not useless and it will serve the same purpose as the finger hand print. The primary purpose is to be able to match someone to each telephone line, face recognition is not needed to do that. If your phone number came up in some shady deal, all they need is search the database against your phone and voila! Your face will come up the screen and the authorities will have their man. In developing countries like Nigeria, your picture in a database is worst than your finger hand print. It is easier or authorities to nap their man by using a picture. |
Paternity leave so that men can go take care of their wife who just gave birth and the new born baby sounds like a pretense to get off work and go hang out the the boys, how many 9ja men fit change baby diaper? |
Abeg make una relax, the use of aviation tape is common in the aviation industry. If you have flown more than 5 times, chances are, these tapes must have been used in one of your flights. These are not the ordinary Sellotape we all know of, airlines use the aviation tapes to temporary fix things on the plane until they go to the shop for permanent repairs and they are rated in the aviation industry to be effective for about 7 days, within which a permanent repair must be done. The Ryanair fix above passed inspection and the plane was decleared air-worthy, the surprise here is not the use of the aviation tape, but a poor workmanship on the part of the maintenance crew. |
