Was it as bad as that? I thought people like Azikiwe, Awolowo, Enahoro and even some prominent people in Nigeria today had their education under colonial rule. The aspects of our cities that existed while the colonial guys were in power still appear better planned than the rest up till today. And education under colonial rule appear to be of better quality than what we see today. Don't you agree with me?
.
Bro ure right that they built good structures and roads, but they weren't for our people but for themselves. Our people were only deemed fit to occupy their boy's qtrs to serve them. The education was not for our enlightenment but to provide them with workers that could be led and not think 4themselves (why else would u teach that Mungo park discovered a river that the natives took him to?). The individuals u mentioned fought to better themselves outside the shores of the country and so could think beyond the then accepted slave/master mentality. Pls read up on how Zik went abroad to school. No one else can love and work for ur country more than u can. Their educational system is what plagues Nigeria today as we keep bringing out graduates that would rather look 4someone to work for than create a solution to our myriad problems. Thinking that colonialism is just, is the same as the Israelites wishing to return to Egypt where they were slaves but could eat meals given to them by their masters. The sacrifice of our forefathers should not be taken for granted. They weren't given their independence on a platter of gold.

Do you think, life wouldn't have been better under the colonial masters than it is nowhuh? I am just curious.
.
My broda i'm inclined to disagree. How comfortable would u be if u were told u couldn't go to school beyond primary level, but would be a house boy in ur father's house. The amalgamation of the north and south after removing the southern cameroons from the south of d Nigerian land mass without a recourse to d opinions of the indigents, shows the disdain the whites had for us.

For the records. At the Twilight of Obasanjo's administration he made the then EFCC boss to investigate the entire 36 state governors and ONLY Donald Duke was 100 percent clean.....
So I was shocked why Obasanjo would choose Jonathan over Duke as yaradua's running mate
Your head is there! I respect ur memory, unlike the bulk of our population that can't even rmbr the name of their serving senator.

I just tire 4all d people blaming this dude for being a victim of police brutality! Why should he give up his phone for an illegal search? If this our cowardly generation were to be the ones that were colonized, we for still dey under british rule till now! He was beaten by Selected Armed Robber Squad (SARS), abducted, his life was threatened while serving his nation and his fellow youths still blame him that he didn't turn over his phone. Today it's phone, tomorrow what else will they ask to search, maybe ur girlfriend's undies. Na wa 4una oh!!!

I supported Buhari with everything I had; opinion poll, blackberry broadcast, whatsapp broadcast, facebook post, loud noise of Sai Baba in my estate up to a point my landlord thought I was given huge money to support Buhari, my neighbors even thought I was connected to Tinubu at a point. But when I look at news like this, I have regrets supporting these guys. They run this country like its a family business. Shame!
Well I don't feel sorry 4people like u who didn't bother to look up PMB's precedents before blindly supporting him. In the previous election, people in the south threw their support behind him like it was some sort of revenge against their neighbors not knowing the joke was on themselves the whole time. Well as u make ur bed.....u know d rest.

Let's try and take a long and hard look at the next candidate we want to support, and quiz him on his party's manifesto (it's your right), how he'll achieve his campaign promises and what he really feels for our country (not a section of it), whether he really understands the problems of the nation and which direction it should take to develop and be relevant economically/globally, before we start praising him/her as "an embodiment of integrity". Fool me once, the joke's on u. Fool me twice, and i'm a fool. We're not fools in Nigeria, let's not make d same mistake twice.

Inasmuch they're disrupting, they're dedicated to their believes.most of them observe 5 times prayers daily but that of Christians although not all is the opposite. They're mis using grace of our lord Jesus Christ which would soon cease soon. Instead of them devoting time to prayers and studies, they are busy abusing themselves and looking for one fault or the other on preachers forgetting that salvation is personal. The Bible say in Philippians 2:12-13 "12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
What's this one saying? Is it dedication that is the issue here? Abeg carry ur religiosity and fly!!
Politics › Re: Fani-Kayode lists other groups FG may proscribe after IPOB by olisaEze(m): 12:45pm On Sep 22, 2017
The group IPOB might be made up predominantly of the Igbos, but Igbo is not IPOB. The military has declared IPOB terrorists, and not the Igbos. I don't really understand FFK's grouse with the govt, when he knows that the govt has the right and power to pro scribe any group that threatens the sovereignty of the country. An individual can't just wake up and declare that a state where he doesn't reside or originate from will not hold elections till his desires are met. Not even the president after a hefty bowl of tuwo-shinkafa can do that without unpleasant repercussions. Let's try and be a bit objective in our criticisms and take it easy with the name calling.

fratermathy:
What of the anti-Hausa/Yoruba music that is also in circulation in the East?

It is easy to play the victim when the truth is half-revealed.

That said, no one should have to live in fear in his own nation. The federal government has to seat up to its duty of engaging the hate propaganda permeating the Nigerian political stratosphere of the day.

Secession can be successfully accomplished without hate messages and threats to lives and properties.
Can you help us with the title of this hausa/yoruba hate music that you're referring to, and the artist that sang it?
