serial to rj45 cable is available and you can also make one for urself with some networking knowledge, ask google for more info. multicrypt cam is 12k as at last asking. all u need to enjoy the cccam is cline. i can get you one at $35/month or ask google for more cline providers.

Pls can you put me through the use of the 2 CAM/CAS in the 4910 and how i can make maximum use of it?

What is Card Sharing and/or Ccccam? Is it available in the 4910? if so, how can i go about the usage in it?

Is there any code applicable to the 4910? if any, abeg pass it on.

The reason for the above questions is that i just got a new 4910 and am trying to get acquainted with it.

the cam is for a situation where u need to use additional providers card with ur decoder. there are a number of cams out there, IRDETO, CONAX, VIACESS, or u can get a mutlicrypt CAM that can handles all. i should thing that there is ccam option for the 4910, the fact that it does not have an ethernet port is a huge let down for me personally, so i rarely use mine for card sharing, i use my dm800HD, i just use the serial port for my dongle. u can monitor the sat forums for releases of softcams etc. hope i ahev been able to throw some lights on ur needs.

yes to all the questions, once i plug it into my laptops it works, when i return it to the wireless 3g router, it does not work, unlike the mtn that works. i called their customer service and the guys he know nothing about their modem working with a wireless router.

got an Engenius^tm wireless router that i use with my huawei MTN modem, but since i have been caught with the 10'o clock bug from MTN , i have decided to switch to glo 3g which has a better coverage in my hood. Problem is that i can not get my wireless router to see my modem. it keep saying sim not ready.

anyone with solution to this porblem should please share.

yes you should but right now, only about 4 channels are free and i don't expect them to stay free for too long.

e-TV (a free terrestrial channel)
eAfri (not sure about this seems to be airing similar programs to e-TV)
Mstar (showing infomercials in between airing movies, not latest block-busters)
National Geographic (the one reason I wanted satellite TV)
eClassic (e-TV broadcast programs, not same airtime as e-TV)
BBC Lifestyle (one of my wife’s favourite satellite channels)
Koowe (kids channel, by the looks of it a South African channel)
MK (music video channel)

they are currently available on terrestrial in South Africa. they are definitely using the aforementioned satellite as an uplink, startimes style. probbably will not be FTA for long.

nice one micro, but i thought for an enthusiast like yourself a dm800 would have been a better choice? what informed your decision to get the opticum? i got myself a brand new dm800 for about about a week now and it's been fun just laying around with it. no other decoder gives you that much freedom.i have the opticum 9500 HD with all the same features and it's been WAEC trying to get it to work for card sharing.

got an HD decoder and have not been able to watch any HD channel to really know what the craze is all about? well, check out LUX TV on badr 26e 11785 V 27500 and NHK hd on pas 10 c 3739 H 26590. it's mind blowing!

it will be replacing nilesat 101 and 102 when it's fully in orbit say by september, this is because they have exhausted their lifespan. we sincerely hope the cha-cha nature of the new satellite will guarante us better signals.

I overrated my ability recently when I purchased a Cuberevo HD PVR Linux based satellite receiver. I have been unable to configure it to to use my dstv cards in the two card readers that it has. I can use the cards with the cam modules, but that is even buggy.

In summary I will like to use the receiver for FTA and DSTV using the card reader slot. I need some help from anybody with the required experience. Thank you.

My DSTV card is not married because I use it with a STRONG 63xx stb and like I said it sometimes work with the CAM modules in the cuberevo.

if you are not getting it in the east then you will get it in the west if there are no blockages, i have two different w3a installation at home facing two different directions, it's a tricky bird to track sometime, the trick is for you to master how to skew your LNB at the right moment, also try tracking with 12520v instead of 12728 or 11192. once you lock on sirius gently bring the dish down to the left of right as the case may be. Good luck.
