that's 5 x 4 multiswicth

5 input of Vertical ( high and low) and horizontal (high and low) and terrestrial input ( optional) and 4 outputs

what it does is to allow you to connect a single dish to several decoders,,using a quatro LNB...
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by olofofo(m): 6:41pm On May 22, 2012
@george

I still enjoy my big ugly dish, but more on hotbird than on nilesat.. Truth is I do not watch bb that much... I love my bud any day

@all

Anyone seeing this exchange as a quarrel is truly myopic.. We learn more from each other when we argue than when we follow, follow..

For all those still confused...WHat Ihacked posted is of no use to anyone on this forum and it just goes to confirm that he uses cline.. We should never be afraid to ask real questions and that's the only way we can learn..

To all those hurling insults, what can I say? Show me one person on this forum that's called himself a guru and I will show u a liar..
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by olofofo(m): 9:23pm On May 21, 2012
@George_d

At the end of the day, we are all entitled to our own opinions and believes.... what makes you happy might not necessarily be what makes others happy...and regarding changes in FTA and tracking of BUD (Big Ugly Dishes),in my opinion the only thing that's changed is not the Technic, but the tools (mainly frequencies, LNBs are what's changing, it used to 10758, then 11997 and now 11823 to track nilesat, every other thing remain the same, excepts for collectors of decoders like Badaru, Myself and Mr. Jamiu, nothing else has changed!

once in a while there's a new satellite to track and the Technic to track it will still remain the same.. and if u are lucky to have a motorized dish, then it as easy as putting in the new frequencies..

also the argument about how PAYTV operators are selling us FTA channels, can someone please show me a satellite where discovery, zone reality, bbc lifestyle, Knowledge, ESPN and co is shown FTA, all these are premium contents and never free!

lastly, if u really love to watch TV, then NILESAT, will never ever be enough..u see those $$$$ signs and u ask yourself why its there? its always been like that for hobbyist and it will continue to be like that..

@George_d

long time. how body?.. you are apt as usual but i will like to take you on on why u feel some of us are absent from this forum...to start with, what is there to talk about? most of what is constantly being covered, we have talked about like a gazillion times, the new things available to talk about are things that are usually not legal to talk about, so we stay away and talk about it where we all know each other and we feel save.. if u visit other threads, usually nobody bothers themselves with how a noob will be able to track Nilesat or Hotbird, it's usually a waste of time to go on and on about it..

secondly, what is FTA?, free to air channels, most of what is free to air in this part of the world are usually french packages, with the exception of MultiTV, which every tom, dick and harry track by now, look at the sky around u, the Canalsat, DSTV, TOPTV, MYTV, TREND TV of this world rules the airwaves and for some of us that like to watch TV they offer a way to relax... we watch what we can however we can and that makes it FTA for me, until otherwise, none of us come here to brag about it or display logs of our connections and that behavior should be condemned in its entirety. If anyone feels that the spirit of FTA is being contaminated by objects making PAID packages to become FTA, then efforts should be made at all cost to condemn anyone that comes to an FTA thread to
talk stuffs other than FTA...and that is why is I asked IHACKED what his point is..

truth is, this thread be here whether the old members come to contribute or not..we dont own the thread , but that does not mean we cannot speak up when we see something going wrong..

@ihacked

Being a complete novice that i am,, i will like to understand what you are really trying to achieve, I know what you have posted is basically a log of connection and decryption from an application that runs cline on dvbs card ( only emulators ( cccam, Newcamd, MGcamd etc) give Node ID/

... so you have mastered how to use cline on a dvbs card and here you are posting logs and pictures form a valid PAYTV PROVIDER as if u have cracked the irdeto encryption...

how far will some people really go just to get attention? Oga Moderator, Over to you...

again, if you miss my point.. WHAT ARE YOU REALLY TRYING TO ACHIEVEhuh??
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Pawa 774: Are They Real? by olofofo(m): 10:32am On Mar 07, 2012
Nigerians are beginning to open their eyes to the new mode of the "advance" fee fraud. this employment thing is the new yahoo yahoo and we need to find a way to stop it, imaging 300,000 applicant paying 3000 naira each, that's a whooping 900,000,000, almost a billion naira!!!

here the Modus Operandi:

1.they do a bit of Newspaper publications to give it a legitimate air
2.build a fancy website devoid of any true information.
3.the most important aspect on the website is the online form where information is collected
see how this link is resident somewhere else and does not even go with the theme of the website  http://75.103.118.97/etcp/PAWA.aspx
4.a very active social networking support
5.you receive emails, even if you have not applied.
6. they ask you to pay for aptitude test
7. even when they employ you, there's really nothing to do.

further insight:

the domain http://pawa774.com is registered in Nigeria with http://isoft-ng.com or is using their name servers
ns1.isoft-ng.com
ns2.isoft-ng.com
so actually if u need to file any fraudulent complain u can mail mauren@isoftng.com

the IP hosting the registration page is resident in the use with http://webservices.thesba.com/ or with the alias http://crystaltech.com.

in conclusion, all these "web" of intricasies can only mean 1 thing!  FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD

I stand to be corrected if am wrong!

for some strange reasons the following tp and packages have disapeared in lagos and environs on nilesat, even on 4.4m!!!

11862, osn
11977 osn
12034 osn inclusive of cnn
11958h jsc+ 5-10
11785v dubai one

for fta we are left with mbc, bbc and not very much,  dark days ahead for Nilesat here in the south west.

a lot enquiries are begining to pour in for 5m dishes.

dream multimedia, the makers of dreambox discontinued dm500s a long time ago. what we still get is the Chinese trying to fulfill the huge appetite for the cheapest linux box for cardsharing, yes is is true that the picture quality of dm500 is not as good as the strong decoders but i find that using the scart output inmproves the picture quality that you get,

@ williams85,is like you read my mind.              @ All, if this said satellite is successfully lunched, the problem of tracking of nilesat will be over because it will be used as starting point for tracking of nilesat. It will be just track this satellite, finetune the lnb and nilesat will pop up for those using big dish. Do you know that the gurus of this house have done a lot of good work for a lot of people in this forum. Once someone make a request or ask a question, immediately the answer will be fowarded to the person but these guru have failed on one thing which is that they refused to put writeup on guildline on how to track nilesat. Does it mean that they don' want the newbies to know how to track it or does it mean that they are afraid of putting up the writeup? Hmm, I don't know oh! One of them claimmed that his writeup on step to step on nilesat installation was deleted during this site upgrade and another guru claimmed that he/she doesn't know who deleted his writeup on nilesat installation and I wondered who was the person that deleted it. Is it the moderator? but why? If the writeup was deleted during the upgrade, then why must it be only that writeup that was deleted? I wonder oh! On this highly esteemed site, one cannot see any writeup on how to track nilesat except the one that Swordswifter posted here last year. Maybe I will be the one to post it here. Since  most of our gurus are watching nilesat at their various home then what stop them from posting step to step on nilesat installation even those that promised to post the writeup and they never did. Remember, i'm just saying my mind. grin grin grin
@dlee

that's a lot stories over nothing, the traditional way of tracking Nilesat is still the same, get a good lnb skewed at say 3pm and track nss 7ku with 10986v 30000 , adjust your LNB until the signal pops up to 97% and even 100% depending on the decoder you are using, then standing infront the dish, gradually shift it to the right raising the dish up, nss is at 22w and you are trying to nail nilesat at 7w, now it used to be that the best TP to track nilesat was 10785v then later 11862v but all these tps keeps disapearing from our horizon, as it is now the best tp to track with is 11823v. once you lock on to this tp, trying and adjust your LNB until you hit the peak, the following are some of the good channels and tps still available on this bird with a 2.4m say in lagos nigerias:

11938v mbc1, 2, max etc
12015v aljazeera nbews
11766h foxmovies, bbc world news
11747 huda tv
12284v alajazeera sport 1, 2, +1- +4

hope this helps!

@all

I do follow the contributions of this forum daily and i try to make my input sometimes. I owe this thread a lot, but the truth of the matter is that majority of us early visitors to this forum are now drawn to the "Dark Side of FTA" to me this is where most of the actions is and it takes a lot of research to fully benefit from it, this is why there's the group, cause not everything can be made public, even in the more civilized satellite boards, ask those that are members on this Group, we all started on this thread, the group was born of a necessity to protect ourselves and some of the more sensitive information that we share here, I have no issues with anyone fraternizing as long the aim of the fraternity is being achieved, i will continue to make my contributions here and but seriously enough with the tribalism accusations et al, lets try and unite ourselves instead. viva fta,

PS, Sophieamore, will not be surprised if you abuse this post again, but i guess that will really underline the point am trying to make,

things that makes you go hmmmmmmmmm, here's what i have to say incoherently at best,

Dongles are available in Alaba, Oshodi, onitisha etc,We do not need to discuss dongle here cause it is illegal.
do i need to add that watching PAYTV without a valid subscription is illegal
no need to abuse anyone to get your point across, the fact will speak for itself.

Where exactly is Malawi?
No one has complained of being in the group.
dongle come, dongle go, after all said and done, we will still be left with FTA.

now can we all just get along without all these rancour?
