Why would the oba of Benin suspend the traditional chief when he himself said it with his own mouth that Oranmiyan was the first oba of benin and he is very correct by saying instead of him to be the 39 oba he gave himself the 40th oba by so doing he don't have the right to suspend this chief
you don’t have the full video, he said he is a descendant of Oranmiyan, that Oranmiyan himself is descended from Ekaladerhan. Watch below

Their problem. Would the council of Benin chiefs also suspend Oba of Benin too for saying he is the son of Oranmiyan and Grandson of Oduduwa in his coronation video below? He also said Oranmiyan established Obaship in Benin cool

This hausa get cunning sense.. imagine.

They want to install their king in Benin so that they would have freedom to do and undo, and if they trespass they wont listen to Oba Ewuare anymore but their king.

They will even value their king more than the traditional Benin king , and after 150years, they will be claiming and be miseducationing the naive generation that their papa(the hausas forefathers) and the Binis forefathers jointly brought the great kingdom into existence.

They would even want to be contesting for the governor if care is not taken

Yes na, what was those rulers who harboured them in those days thinking??

If I have a city or town or settlement I can never alow a stranger to even hold a position of chieftancy not to tall of having their own king.

I lord over every affairs in my domain and whoever not satisfied should move away..
Not because of me or my immediate children, it's plainly because of the incoming but far away generation who would not have the clear picture of how things panned out then and would not have much evidence and power to undo what I have done..

Oba of Benin with him 7 tiny local governments inside one state.

Dey play. Hausa go collect 4 local government, leave 3 for am.

Bini is no man's land. grin
Illiterate, those seven local government covers over 55% of the landmass of Edo state called Edo south. It is about 10,700km square and the landmass of Bini speaking communities out of it is about 8653kmsquare. The remaining 2,100km square comprise of Igbanke which is about 170kmsquare. Then Ijaw villages,Ajoki etc.

Now tell me how many states are more than 8653 km square. From my knowledge,

1. Bini’s territory in Edo state is bigger than all the individual state in the south east
2. It is larger than Ekiti state by landmass. Ekiti state is about 6000 km square.
3. It is also about the same size with Osun that is about 9,000km square
4. It is also larger than Akwa Ibom by landmass. Akwa Ibom is not up to 8,000 km square.

So it is in no way tiny

Oga,the closest person most times to a governor is his chief of staff.he wields massive power.by the way, that's not the topic.the summary is that it was a wasted slot as the only akoko Edo son in pdp that has political capital is Kabiru adjoto.marvellous is a small boy,it was just to compensate him and maybe attract youths.their most beloved son is the reps member peter akpatason.
In owan axis, the numero is hon prof Julius ihonvbere, the speaker is not relevant.worst case is pdp taking akoko Edo narrowly which won't prevent a massive lost in Edo north
There would be no massive loss anywhere in the north. You overrate these politicians a lot. I am telling you the feeders from Akoko Edo and Owan populace as a result of this act. And I am telling you because I am on ground that the result will shock you.

Kabiru is not an enemy of the governor, you don’t know if they had an understanding to that effect. He was against it when Shaibu took Obaseki to court. There are several videos to that effect. What will seven months deputy governorship do for adjoto? Stop sounding like he had a fallout with adjoto because he was not chosen. They are in the same camp, he must have consulted with them, some arms of labor party is pliant to pdp in Edo state and it’s not news

The only place where there is assurance of defeat from pdp is Etsako, the other places are already tired of the domineering effects of Etsako will vote pdp enough to mitigate the loss of pdp in Etsako.

I know but chief of staff is more powerful

I don’t even know why that is a topic in the first place, the Chief of staff is more powerful in situations where the deputy governor and the governor are at loggerheads and most of the times, the governor strips the deputy governor of several important duties,

The chief of staff is already a pliant man, often times they are friends with the governor unlike the deputy who is most times chosen by the party. The chief of staff and the governor continues to have this tete-a-tête-à-tête, he becomes the eye and ear of the governor for several reasons he is an appointed position and such at the mercy of the governor and can be sacked anytime. He himself is only as powerful as much as the governor allows him.

Unlike a deputy governor that was elected, cannot be sacked, can only be impeached and most times takes rigorous politics for it to happen. In many cases where the deputy governor is more grassrooted, it will be almost impossible to impeach him. A man with very solid grassroot base like Ize Iyamu would not have been easily impeached by Obaseki. It might have been impossible. That is why many deputy governors fall out with their governor and it is not the same thing with the chief of staff.

The constitution states that the deputy governor can have duties on his table as much as the governor allows him. Show me a chief of staff more powerful than Shaibu when he was in good terms with Obaseki. Many times because they were not appointed but elected on a joint ticket, many of them will no longer be loyal and start misbehaving, sooner or later they soon realize that in a state, they can only be as powerful as the governor allows them to be,

A deputy governor at peace with the governor is never less powerful than a chief of staff, there is immunity and several privileges like pension for deputy governors, it is not so with the chief of staff.

And besides we are talking about the possibility of the 2nd most celebrated position in Edo. It will not happen again in a long while except a miracle happens, unlike a chief of staff that can be appointed by anyone. Most basic adults recognize the deputy governors in the past 24 years. 70% of them do not know the chief of staff in these same dispensation, it is the same at all

Oga,chief of staff in reality is bigger and more powerful than deputy governor who is just a spare tyre.
That does not change the fact that the deputy governor is the number 2 citizen of the state, and it is an elected position, the chief of staff will only be more powerful than the deputy governor if the governor wants and allows it, the deputy governor enjoys immunity and other privileges which the chief of staff do not

He could have ignored shuaibu and compensated him same way late aketi did to ajayi..
Picking from etsako will prevent them from giving APC bloc votes.in 2020,shuaibu won a lot of votes for pdp in etsako and other parts of Edo north.when they started quarelling,APC cleared Edo north
Owan s are presently happy that their son is the speaker, an Akoko Edo is the deputy governor, the combined population of the Owan and Akoko Edo is about the same size as the entire Etsako numerically or a little
more. Before Obaseki, nobody considers these two groups for political positions, i doubt an Owan man has been speaker before, now Obaseki also made it possible for Akoko Edo to be deputy governor. It would certainly tilt their emotions and even their vote towards Obaseki for the fact they already thought of the Etsako people as dominating the politics of Edo north.

Whether Shaibu was impeached or not, he was not in good terms with the governor and not going to work for him anyway. Even the Ill treatment of the deputy governor prior to the impeachment would have still make Etsako to largely vote against him even if he was not impeached. Coupled with the Oshiomhole factor, he just knew there was nothing to grasp in Etsako

Akoko Edo is the largest single lga in Edo central and north, that's why they are a federal constituency on its own.if he was sensible,he would have picked from etsako.it seems your an obaseki supporter.despite all his chief of staff taiwo akerele did in 2020,he still failed in akoko
Etsako west is larger now because of its urban nature, Akoko Edo is 5% of the population of Edo state, you can check. Even if he was going to cut his head for the Etsako people, they still would not vote for him. Oshiomhole is there and is a factor, so why waste the slot, you can’t compare chief of staff position to deputy governor, it is not the same thing, anybody can appoint anybody chief of staff, it will only happen two times in a lifetime for an Akoko Edo person to be governor or deputy governorship candidate in a election cycle not when Bini, Esan,Etsako, Owan are there. So what Obaseki did for them is landmark and will realistically not happen again in a long while

He impeached and ditched an Etsako man for an Akoko Edo guy?

In Edo North, Etsako where Philip Shuaibu hails from has majority of votes. There will surely be protest votes from the Etsakos
There is no way Obaseki was going to win Etsako anyway, for the fact Oshiomhole is from there, Pdp has never won Etsako for a long time now, shaibu would have fought obaseki even if he was not impeached, With the nuisance he was constituting, the battle just have to be taken to his doorstep.

Garfield think, i repeat no party willing to win election will field an Akoko Edo man for governor or deputy. They don’t have the numbers. Politics is a game of numbers. This is reality not emotions, politicians are realist. This is the closest way they could have gotten to power, and he utilized it effectively, Obaseki did not study classics at the university of Ibadan for nothing

A deputy governor of 7 months won't buy akoko votes
how are you so certain of that? Akoko Edo has never been governor or deputy governor for the longest of time, not even for two days, this act certainly would change the historical narrative that an Akoko Edo person was deputy governor for over half a year, you cannot wish it away, they might likely not get close to that position for the next 30 years or more. It is a significant mark for them, you can’t wish it away or underestimate it, you cannot authoritatively determine if it will not sway vote, from the look of things, it certainly will. A party willing to win election in Edo state will not pick an Akoko Edo person as the governor or deputy. For Obaseki to quickly use this impeachment scheme to get them to be a part of government shows he is smart and knows what he is doing.

This is sheer luck for the boy, I like this kind of luck, It would forever be in the History of Edo state and in the cv of the boy that the boy was a deputy governor even though for six months. Obaseki is also using it to buy Akoko Edo vote, since the speaker is already from Owan

There is no big deal in correcting or making amends in areas where we feel Bini’s history was misplaced. You cannot overrely on Egharevba’s narrative because it consciously suits your motives when there are blatant and brazen errors to it.

Exactly, but some people are too blind to see the truth
my brother we’ve had Fulani herdsmen for over 30 years in Benin. This one they now carry gigantic weapons up and down terrorizing and killing farmers seem like a cordinated attack with cattle rearing to cover face so it will seem unsuspecting, check many of these herdsmen, they are not even from Nigeria. This bandit and farmers crisis with weapons here and there only came into the Nigeria lexicon 6-7 years ago. There seem to be some shadowy intentions underneath. So they can serve us with GMO foods that will reduce fertility, alter the gene, cause sicknesses and death among many thereby reducing the population. It seem like a population control mechanism for me. Nothing beats natural food, If insecurity is taken away, many persons will not be scared to go to farms and Nigeria will take care of her food needs, we are not lazy people

Are they planting the GMO crops presently?has cattle rearing not been a thing among the Fulanis in time past? From time immemorial, they have always been in several parts of Nigeria rearing their cattles without, in Benin, they’ve been living peacefully with us since 1990 when i knew my way around Benin.

Why is there a predominance of gigantic ammunitions among these Fulani men of late,(not more than 6-7 years now)many a times these Fulani men are not even from Nigeria but from other neighboring countries. Why is their attacks so persistent on perpetual farming tribes like the Tiv?

At a time when the western world is preaching climate change, GMO, and all what. And then the Op’s post trying to convince us that GMO is okay and is the way out. Let us not delude ourselves op was obviously paid

It is very clear that prevalence of GMO foods in America is one of the major reasons why they have excess obesity, mass proportions of diabetes, heart problems etc

Edoid - A group of people who speak variants of the Edo language and share common ancestry (most) and culture.

Bini - A tribe belonging to the Edoid group.

Edo State - A place many believe is the origin of the Edoid people.

So all groups I mentioned fall into the Edoid group. Same way you lump Itsekiri and Ilaje as Yoruboid or Ika & Ikwerre as Igboid... It's the same way groups who speak similar variants of the Edo language are called Edoid groups and they are found mostly in Delta, Edo and Bayelsa (Minority).

Please note, Bini is not the same as Edoid. They are a branch of the family, same as Esan, Isoko etc. So don't get confused.
pay no heed to those ones who are not educated enough to know that Urhobo and Isoko are Edoid groups, even Degema, Engenni , Epie-atissa are all Edoid groups even linguistically even if the last three identify as Ijaw.

The 5% non-Edoid population in Edo state is shared between these iJo, Yoruba, Itsekiri and Ika. Very insignificant.
and also Igarra,

Akoko Edo as big as it is comprise of just five percent of the population of Edo state.

Okpamheri as an Edo group comprise of 23 villages and its population was over 30 thousand minus Ososo in 1952 and all these communities are in Akoko Edo.

I do not think the insignificant population of Itsekiri in Ologbo that is even a shared community coupled with those sparsely Ijaw settlements in the two Ovia alongside with the population of Igbanke can go beyond 60% of Akoko Edo. Who are Yorubas in Edo state

Igboid in Edo state are not up to two percent, maybe Edo south not the entire Edo state, when you pitch the population of Igbanke against the population of Edo state indigenes, it cannot go beyond 1.1 percent
