Area father, Charly Boy has opened up on how he dropped certain bad habits. https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/data/attachments/62/62339-0ec489a7ba095412a9794ff6a3760996.jpg In a post he titled “Don’t Mess With my Jesus!” he wrote : “In February, 2016, one cool and unusual breezy night in the comfort of my room, I had a strange encounter of the freakiest kind with Jesus, which I shared with you all. In that encounter, our Lord left me with specific instructions. He had instructed me to tell you all, that Nigerians should STOP disturbing him by substituting prayers for hard work. Jesus was very very upset with Nigerian’s kinda prayer requests and shopping list, always calling His Name for the most trivial matters, things that would come to them naturally without sweat were they not a lazy and an unthinking ignorant bunch. Hardly would you find a Naija prayer warrior asking for more spiritual all na prosperity prayers!!! Since that special encounter with Jesus, a lot has changed about me. I hardly noticed it, till one of my paddy guys started pointing out a lot of things that I now do differently. Abi I don enter? Pastor Charles? Hmmmmm, ok. He pointed out amongst others things, so many things that I no longer do like taking my afternoon naps in my casket, how I killed my pet python on the 26th of February to set my spirit free. How it seems like I have stopped confusing people with my sexuality and how the things of Jesus was taking a hold of me. He observed that my long time advocacy of empowering the youths has taken a monumental dimension. How I have become an emergency marriage counsellor, thanks to Tiwa & Bliss. My calm and coolness suddenly made my paddy man more intrigued and curious “Charly, what’s going on” he asked insinuating that my Jesus encounter had reconfigured me. My calm and coolness suddenly made my paddy man more intrigued and curious “Charly, what’s going on” he asked insinuating that my Jesus encounter had reconfigured me. I really do not feel any different from how I have always felt for the past 37yrs of being consumed by the Charlyboy persona. However I must confess that I have remained dazed by that freaky encounter. I remember Jesus giving me that strong hard look and ordering me to “Get to work” before I could ask, what work? the Lord disappeared as fast as he appeared. Back in the days I would have wondered what they put in my weed. Haba, but am not Pastor Adeboye, T.B Joshua, Pastor Kris Okotie, or any of those holier than thou people. See me see wahala oh. Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday admitted that combating book haram, and the issue of security in Nigeria and in the world has been harrowing. He lamented that technology had also been contributing to the deteriorating security situation across the globe. Buhari said this during a joint press conference he addressed with visiting President Francois Hollande of France at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Hollande is in the country for the Second Regional Security Summit held Abuja, having hosted the first edition in Paris. Buhari said, “Fundamentally, the issue of security has been more harrowing. The international terrorism, now with the help of technology and million of volunteers, respects no borders. “It is a lot of concern for people of conscience to learn that in Nigeria, we have more than two million Internally Displaced Persons, most of them women and children.” The President added that after the local government areas initially under the control of insurgents had been retrieved from them, they (insurgents) had been exploiting available technology in terms of using Improvised Explosive Devices on soft targets, including mosques, churches, markets and motor parks. He also said many of the territories they held captive had been freed while the government’s current major challenge was the rehabilitation of destroyed infrastructure. The President also attributed the success recorded by his administration in the anti-terrorism fight to the help of the G7 nations, including France. http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/fighting-boko-haram-is-difficult-buhari.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44 |
“The state of this road is just not acceptable. We are going to do something about this place immediately. The Oshodi-Apapa Expressway is too strategic to be left like this,” remarked Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday after undertaking an unscheduled inspection of the road. The Lagos State Governor has ordered immediate repair of bad portions on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. He directed the State’s Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and other relevant government agencies to immediately move to site and fix the bad portions of the road. Ambode had stopped his convoy and came down from his vehicles to inspect the bad portions of the road alongside top government officials who accompanied him. The governor specifically inspected the bad portions of the road between Berlett and Ilasa, and Cele Bus stop inward Oshodi. Ambode also ordered that an immediate palliative measure must be put in place to alleviate the sufferings of motorists who have been complaining about the deplorable state of the road through various means. http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/ambode-jumps-down-from-convoy-orders.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44

In January 2012, the former President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration made a decision to end fuel subsidy. A movement known as #OccupyNigeria was formed and thousands of Nigerians took to the streets to protest the government's decision. The #OccupyNigeria rally attracted popular oppositions from politicians [most of who are now in power], self-acclaimed human rights activists and celebrities. After series of protests, the Jonathan administration caved in to the pressure and settled for a partial subsidy removal that brought the petrol price up to N97 from N65 a litre, instead of the initial N141 it would have been at, had the subsidy been totally removed. On 12th May, 2016 the Muhammadu Buhari administration announced the removal of the subsidy for the sale of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with immediate effect. So far, there has been no street protest just e-fights among Nigerians on Twitter, beatification of Goodluck Jonathan on Facebook and massive cheering from the majority of people who criticized fuel subsidy removal in 2012. Below are the names of prominent Nigerians who Opposed Fuel Subsidy Removal in 2012 and their Stance in 2016 : Muhammadu Buhari : Before he became President, he fiercely maintained that fuel subsidy ''does not exist'' but few days ago his government just removed a non-existent fuel. Oby Ezekwesili : Former Education Minister Ezekwesili claims that 2016 is a better year to remove fuel subsidy than 2012 was. For her it's all about ''trust''. Bola Tinubu : National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC believes that fuel subsidy removal in 2016 is a ''Necessary pain'' Nigerians have to endure. Ibe Kachikwu : Even up until his Ministerial screening late last year, Nigeria's Minister of state for petroleum fiercely objected the removal of fuel subsidy. Today, he feels subsidy removal is important to ''sustain supply and reduce the suffering to get the product''. Nasir El-Rufai : Kaduna state Governor. During the removal of fuel subsidy by the Jonathan administration, he protested saying it was about ''trust not economics'', today El-Rufai feels Nigerians should just stay ''calm and orderly'' Femi Falana : Human Rights activists and lawyer. He was part of the #OccupyNigeria protests. He has openly condemned the Buhari administration for removing fuel subsidy. He's yet to announce a date for fresh protest. Tolu Ogunlesi : Award-winning journalist and aide to President Buhari openly opposed the removal of fuel subsidy in 2012. He even went as far as likening former President Jonathan to Boko haram, in an opinion piece Ogunlesi wrote, ''What’s the difference between Boko Haram and GEJ? Boko Haram at least claims responsibility. GEJ gets PPPRA to do so on his behalf''. Today, Ogunlesi supports the removal of fuel subsidy by his boss. Just like Ezekwesili, he says it was more about ''trust'' than ''economics''. Dino Melaye : Senator Melaye opposed fuel subsidy removal in 2012 and is still opposing it today. The flamboyant Senator is threatening to ''lead the mother of all protests'' if the policy is not reversed. Ikhide Ikheloa: Staunch critic of the Abacha regime and popular lawyer. He opposed fuel subsidy in 2012 and led mass protests to the World Bank in Washington DC. He regrets protesting against subsidy removal in 2012. He wrote, ''After making me dance in protest in 2012 before the World Bank and IMF in OPPOSITION, APC Scraps Petrol Subsidy! '' Yemi Osinbajo : Vice President Yemi Osinbajo fiercely opposed subsidy removal in the past but today he's touring media houses to educate Nigerians on the ''cost implication of fuel subsidy removal''. Ayo Sogunro : Popular Nigerian author Sogunro is one of those who regrets protesting against subsidy removal in 2012. in his latest opinion piece ''My Dear President Buhari, Shame On You'' the writer said ''As I have suspected for a while, the unsolicited trekking I undertook from Yaba to Ojota to protest the 2012 subsidy removal is now just an intensive workout session. President Buhari and his team of economic wanksters have taken a leaf from Jonathan and his team of economic wanksters. Worse, the new economists in town have outdone Jonathan’s ambitions of N141/l; they have pushed the price up to N145/l—in spite of Fashola’s touted logic on falling crude oil prices. '' Funmi Iyanda : She was against the fuel subsidy removal in 2012 and while she has come out to express anger with the way the Buhari administration handled its own removal of feul subsidy, she has however excused her 2012 actions with, ''Yes l was against deregulation by a fantastically corrupt govt mismanaging resources at a time of high oil prices. '' Tunde Bakare: Convener of Save Nigeria Group, SNG. Though he's yet to comment on the removal of subsidy which he strongly opposed in 2012, we know Bakare supports Buhari all the way. He has always said he will support Buhari in subsidy removal because ''the Save Nigeria Group did not mobilise the people of this country to the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota, merely to protest the removal of the fuel subsidy but to challenge the corruption that defined the fuel subsidy regime.'' The Missing Actors: After participating in the well-publicized #OccupyNigeria in 2012, some key actors have gone silent in the face of subsidy removal in 2016. Are they secretly planning other protests or cowering in their glaring hypocrisy? The missing actors who are yet to comment include: Babatunde Fashola Femi Kuti Kate Henshaw Tiwa Savage Jesse Jagz eLDee Alibaba Sasha P Omawunmi Baba Suwe Waje Uche Jombo DJ Jimmy Jatt Banky W Jesse Jags Dede Mabiaku King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall 1 (KWAM-1) Fela Durotoye Bimbo Akintola Jide Kosoko Vector Terry tha Rapma Omobaba Toyosi Akerele Ruggedman http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/14-prominent-nigerians-who-opposed-fuel.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44 |

President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed why he had to delay in signing the 2016 Appropriation Bill into law. Speaking during a radio interview over the weekend in Katsina his home State, Buhari assured Nigerians that his administration will effectively utilise available resources to turn around the fortunes of the country. Buhari said, “We will do our best to fix the country. When the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, asked me to sign the budget weeks ago and there were issues, I told him I won’t. But when he insisted, I told him if I assented to it and anything happened, he would be held responsible. “He accepted and left. But when he had a second thought, he ran back to me and agreed with me that we shouldn’t sign it. It was at that point I heard of padding. The committees of the National Assembly removed our projects and replaced it with theirs. “That’s was why we had three weeks to look at it. When he returned to me again, Udoma told me that most of the projects the National Assembly included had been removed but that we can go with the remaining ones since I must approve money before funds would be released for the execution of projects.” http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/why-i-delayed-signing-of-2016-budget.html

Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Weekend, was a guest on Radio Continental, 102.3 FM and he listed three good reasons why the president do not hate the Igbo. They are: - When the President ran for political office in 2003, who was his running mate? Dr Chuba Okadigbo. And in 2007? Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke. If he hated Igbos would he run with them? That shows you the respect and the regard he has for Igbos, it was political reality that compelled him to come south-west in 2011 and in 2015 - Igbo benefitted from PTF project under Buhari as Oil minister - 2nd Niger Bridge captured in 2016 Budget: The second Niger bridge is on the budget in 2016. Let’s recall that the last President sometime in 2011 said that he would complete that second Niger bridge before 2015. He didn’t even go beyond the architectural drawing, but in 2016 budget, that project is there. http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/3-reasons-why-buhari-doesnt-hate-ndigbo.html |

Orji made the declaration to his supporters and delegates at Urban Primary School venue of Ward 1 Congress for the Ward Congress of the Party, which held across the country last weekend. While commending the party members for the manner the Congress was held, he urged them to ignore all the antics of the All Progressives Congress (APC). "When I came into this venue everywhere was peaceful; we are not here to fight or quarrel but to exercise our rights as party members," he said. “We have decided to remain in this party, we are not leaving our party that we have built, if you go to another party definitely you become a tenant, but here in PDP, you will remain a Landlord.” The Senator charged the newly inaugurated Ward1 17 member executive not to betray the trust of fellow party members. “You are not the best amongst the other party men and women, this is a big trust which you must not betray this trust”, Orji said. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved N20 billion as bailout for the Kogi Government. The state gov., Alhaji Yahaya Bello, announced this on Sunday in Lokoja while addressing a rally held by Organised Labour to mark this year’s May Day celebration. Bello explained that the N20 billion was the first tranche of the N50 billion applied for to clear salary arrears of the state and local government workers. He blamed the delay in the release of the fund on the last administration, saying that the application submitted by his predecessor was shoddily done and fraught with irregularities. “We had to start from scratch. We are glad to announce that our efforts have paid off. This week, we received approval to draw down on the first tranche of our Bailout Funds from the Federal Government. “This will amount to about N20 billion. We will draw down on the balance of about N30 billion as we meet the milestones for implementation of the first tranche, as set by the Central Bank of Nigeria,“ he explained. http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/cbn-approves-n20bn-bailout-fund-for.html cc: lalasticlala mynd44 |

The Presidency has responded angrily to the criticism of its economic policies by Bring Back Our Girls group founder, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili describing it as inaccurate. Ezekwesili, who spoke at a roundtable discussion on the state of the nation on The Platform, organized by the Covenant Christian Center, in Abuja on Saturday, April 30, had described President Buhari’s policies as archaic and enabling corruption. The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who is heads the National Economic Council replied Ezekwesili’s criticisms through his Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande who said that there was no evidence to back her claim that the economic policies of the present administration is archaic. He said, “I have read through Dr. Ezekwesili’s statement and I did not see any evidence to back her claim that the economy is archaic. “What is archaic in the attempts by the present administration to diversify the economy and spur technological innovation? “What is archaic in the government’s attempt to find long-lasting solutions to the problems facing the country? What is archaic in the Treasury Single Account which has increased the level of transparency in handling government’s revenues? “What is archaic in bringing to account those who have stolen our commonwealth and get the resources back to government coffers? What is archaic in fast tracking industrialisation and dealing with infrastructure? All these are economic issues. “You cannot come up with your own unclear elitist summary of the economy. Although she is entitled to her opinion because this is a democracy,” he said. http://www.metronaija.com/2016/05/presidency-rubbishes-oby-ezekwesilis.html

Tragedy struck on Saturday morning as a mother of a bride was allegedly shot dead by a soldier at the Ekpan Junction, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta. The first son of the deceased, Alero said a keke operator flouted the soldier’s order when he was flagged down and the soldier opened fire leading to the deceased death. She also said that colleagues of the killer-soldier at the roadblock had been taken to Warri Area Command for questioning. “They have not arrested the soldier. JTF whisked him away. He said the investment pact signed with the Chinese Government will benefit the people of Lagos, especially with the coming of the Lagos-Kano Rail Project and the Lagos Metro-rail project expected to cost about $2.5billion. It would be recalled that President Buhari recently returned from a one week visit to China where Nigeria signed series of investment pact expected to yield about $6 billion investment for Nigeria and also expected to have positively huge impact on key sectors of the Nigerian economy including power, solid minerals, agriculture, housing and rail transportation. He said the visit was therefore to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his laudable plans for Nigeria and especially Lagos State.
