The PhD requirement to teach medical students clinical medicine makes absolutely no sense. I don’t know of any country in the world where this happens. having a PhD has nothing do with your clinical acumen. |

Nice pics. I was in Kenya about two weeks ago but didn't have time to visit the Masai Mara park. I did visit the national park in naorobi and went on a safari walk but it wasn't as interesting. I also went to a Masai market in Nairobi and bought a couple items. I see you flew out of Boston. I used to live in Boston for a couple of years. |

adeniyisamuel59: The few one that work in abroad cause problems such as removing ovary and Fallopian tubes instead of haenia. you should be ashamed of yourself. in the face of the devastating brain drain facing our country, you reduce thousands of Nigerian trained physicians working to make other countries better to one erring doctor. Nigerian trained doctors make a difference every single day, in and out of Nigeria. Continue to lampoon doctors and see who will care for you when you or someone you care for falls sick. |

nelszx: "History" taken from patients relatives can't be used as a "testimony" (a valid account of what brewed) as the relatives were not with him even as at time of death (if he died in the wee hours of the morning, it's most likely the relatives would be asleep too till the alarm called). My point is whoever perpetuated this though already arrested, if guilty and a professional, he should be prosecuted and license withdrawn. What baffles me is this, the family doesn't even know the profession of their caregiver (Negligence on their part). A Senator of the Federal republic allowing quack to administer drugs to him (that's not wisdom at all) They didn't have to be with him when he died. History of a case takes place over time. It gives whoever is adjudicating the case a timeline. How would they know the patient was probably being treated by a quack if they did not obtain history of same from relatives? Also, it looks to me that the testimony was admitted just fine by the hearing and I am sure they are more qualified on legal matters than you or me. |
Politics › Re: Adeleke Was Given Overdose Of Banned Injection – LAUTECH CMD by olsmade(m): 11:51am On May 16, 2017 |
nelszx: Testimonies aren't given based on hear say but what was observed as at when it happened (as evidence). It's a court hearing and not a tribute session. And I believe the same person who they believed perpetuated the act was arrested, at least he should say who and what he is since "they" said he's neither a doctor nor a nurse so that prosecution can be well served. It's not hearsay when a doctor obtains 'history' from a patient or his relatives. He did it in his professional capacity as a physician and he related same to the hearing. Not sure what your point is. Ofcourse whoever perpetrated the crime should be arrested but that is not the job of the physician. |

adisabarber: So the dokita left behind evidence of his wrongdoing? The pathologist did not even say "based on the autopsy results". He based his conclusions on the empty injection vials. Prof Lasisi is not a pathologist. He was only giving his testimony based on the history he got from the deceased' relatives. The pathologist would be the one to give an autopsy report. |

shumuel: You only repeated what have said,, i heard some of them do the extractions themselves but i can't vouge if its doesn't contain or isn't synthetics. No I did not repeat what you said. Essential oils are not similar to Hausa oils. Hausa oils are similar to attars or mukhallats if we want to get technical. Essential oils are the purest extracts of flowers etc. e.g. Lavender essential oil, rose absolue, geranium essential oil etc. Hausa oils are a mixture of perfume oils, most of which are synthetic. |
Fashion › Re: 5 Awesome Reasons Why You Should Consider Non-alcoholic Perfume by olsmade(m): 9:10pm On Dec 16, 2016 |
I agree somewhat with 1 and 5. The fact that a perfume has alcohol doesn't preclude its being all-natural. They have natural sources of alcohol. Most people that are allergic to perfumes are allergic to ingredients other than alcohol in perfumes an that's why regulatory bodies (e.g. IFRA) have banned several ingredients in the recent past. Also the fact that a perfume is oil based has nothing to do with whether it's natural or not. I can guarantee that whatever oil you are using is replete with synthetics. I'd go as far as say it's likely >90% synthetic. It costs an arm and a leg to produce an all natural fragrance and you probably won't be able to get it for less than $50 a ml (for oils). Do the math, it's not cheap. jiggalo: Parfum or extrait--in English known as perfume extract, pure perfume, or simply perfume: 15–40% ( IFRA : typical ~20%) aromatic compounds Esprit de Parfum (ESdP)-- 15–30% aromatic compounds, a seldom used strength concentration in between EdP and perfume Eau de Parfum (EdP) Parfum de Toilette (PdT):-- 10–20% (typical ~15%) aromatic compounds, sometimes listed as "eau de perfume" or "millésime"; Parfum de Toilette is a less common term, most popular in the 1980s, that is generally analogous to Eau de Parfum Eau de Toilette (EdT): 5–15% (typical ~10%) aromatic compounds Eau de Cologne (EdC), often simply called cologne: 3–8% (typical ~5%) aromatic compounds; On point! shumuel: Correct me if am wrong, please. By saying oil based perfume you meant Essential oils right ? Which is similar to what we call Hausa perfume in Nigeria, well if that is what you are saying then let me put it to you that you have not fully inform the readers. What you should have said is for people to seek those who collect fragrance and make essential oils to buy directly from them because oil based perfumes are the same as essential oils which is also one of the ingredients in making Perfumes and Colognes. Fragrance/Smell is best collected from Fruits, Flowers, Plants and Trees using oils. Get your facts straights Op. Bottom line, what you are saying is that people should buy Essential oils. Hausa colognes are not essential oils. Essential oils are usually extracts of plants e.g. Rose, lavender in very high concentrations. Hausa perfume is a mixture of all sorts. |

Y'all clamoring for violence - you are no better than the assailant(s). One person or a group of people killed a defenseless woman likely as a hate crime and the first thing is that Islam is responsible. How about you charge law enforcement to root out and deal with the criminal to the full extent of the law instead of sensationalizing volatile issues like this and worsening the already tense security situation in the country. Do you for one second think that Islam endorses stupid killing of innocent people, talk less of a woman? If you do, you should educate yourself and purge yourself of your ignorance. |
