No offence taken...to each his own.. Yea I did submit that but if u read my post well u would see that I was disappointed @ last min wen some of the money was used therefore reducing the balance and causing the denial.

Thanks for ur advice though I would consider it after I reapply ( as that's what I've decided to do)
I have also been discouraged abot changing sponspor but rather been advised to transfer money to that account. Which my uncle has been persuaded to do. That's where iam now. I am optimistic.

Thanks
I'm not sure transferring money to the acct is good advice. Makes it suspicious. Tread carefully bro

mr swagger: Hello everyone I greet you all.

I intend making preparations before the arrival of my i-20 package from my university.

Please what is the appropriate size of the passport photograph I can use to upload for my DS 160 online form.

Where can I take this acceptable passport photograpgh.

I live in lagos, ikotun to be precised, and I know there are many studios where I can take this passport photograpgh but I want a well standard one so my passport photograpgh doesn't get rejected. Please who can recommend any place for me in Lagos, ikeja, ikotun or anywhere you know about.

Where did you guys take your DS 160 online passport photograph? And how much does it cost

And also I intend paying for my Sevis fee when my i-20 arrives soon.

Please where is @deevick246?

Please beep me up here Asap because I have been reading your previous post on nairaland and it seems you have been assisting students in paying for Sevis fee.

Please help me out. Or who else in the house can offer solution to the challenges I'm facing here.

Thanks guys.....
you dont need a passport to fill the DS160 form though you have to take a 2" X 2" passport when you are going for your interview.

@ house, no dates at all on the US site for visa interview. do let us know if anything opens up.

Diasporan: SMH while in my beloved country girls of her age will be thinking of when and who will deflower them and the boys won't want to leave the Cyber cafe
Girls the world over think about such petty things and boys will always be boys (involve in misdemeanors like drugs, scams etc) - its not peculiar to Nigeria.

The girl z just different, in a good way.

marshaldollz: Hey all...please do you think in a second time of interview, the interviewer might ask,why you choose that embassy instead of the one close to ones house and if one was denied? And also will a certificate of registration(enterprise or company) be a bonus in the interview(registered in the 90's)
I av never heard of a VO asking anybody that, here on. On your other question, I'm not sure - VO is not likely to ask to see such a document so i don't see any reason to tender it. I've noticed this trend here - if the VOs really want to give you a visa, dey don't really ask for much - your yans will suffice, so package yourself well and tie loose ends. All the best.

De Tus: Congrats folks for keeping the ball rolling. How many Chinese V0s are there at Lagos Consulate precisely? I really don't know if meeting any of them for my interview would be good because I speak their language. What do you think guys?
The fact that they look Asian doesn't make em Chinese. That you speak their language doesn't mean they won't nab you if they want to (or don't you both speak English?) and lastly, they were probably born and bred in the U.S and can't speak Chinese any more than they can speak Urhobo.
Hello house, pls I need to know which is preferable to take to the interview between the duo of my payslip and my personal acct.? Thanks.
Your personal acct statement is preferable, I am assuming of course, that there is sufficient money in it for at least a year of tuition and living expenses. Else, go with a sponsor's acct statement. Your payslip doesn't say much - it doesn't reflect how much you have saved which is what's important to them.

mr swagger: Hello house, I greet u all. I just got accepted to my school in US for the fall 2013 resumption.

I will be receiving my I-20 soon.

My sponsor wants to contact someone he knows in the US to help me pay my Sevis fee.

Please I will like to know what are the steps for him to pay the Sevis fee for me in US and who and where does he pay to?

What are the necessary requirements?

Are we paying the Sevis fee to the school or to the Embassy?

Please help me on this because I have never done this before and I don't want to make any silly mistakes.

I have researched the previous threads on nairaland but everyone is talking about paying sevis in Ecobank in Cotonou, no one is talking about the procedures to paying it in the US.

If possible post the link of the website so I could get the full details on paying the Sevis fee in US

Thanks guys. Waiting for your anticipated response.
You'll find a nice illustration here

Kunsoft: i think you over shoot your monthly earnings compare with the nature of job you said you do. without further details. If a system administrator could earn such money she feels there is no need of you to travel. abi house? Thanks
Nothing could be farther from the truth. There are consultant doctors earning well over 500 that still go abroad for MPH or MBA or masters in health administration so it ain't bout his salary - dat I'm sure of. You make it sound like he's earning 190 million a year.

oyetpel: Hello people, have been reading this thread for a while now,and its been interesting, am applying ti virginia international university, am expecting my I-20 nextweek, and i want to make friends here. Thanks
They've said it all. Truth is that, on this forum, visa issuance rate for VIU is 0%. So if you still want to go ahead with the schools I-20, it won't be for want of knowledge. I'll advise you apply to more reputable schools - against spring 2014 obviously. All the best mate.

bigfrancis21: IMPERIOUXX and Others in the House:

I read somewhere on this thread, I don't remember the page actually, about NIPOST registered mailing to overseas. Please can someone who has used it recently quickly recap how one can go about it and the cost? My course mate wants to send his documents across to a university in the UK and he needs the cheapest means possible. I then suggested to him to send via NIPOST registered mail. I'm waiting.
Gracias hombre! cheesy
Sent some docs to Boston yesterday via registered mail and it cost me N940.
Sent my account statement (2pages) via FedEx to the same Boston, cost me N9,580

Confirmvisa: Thanks man respect. I just ask him to keep quiet that's all. Cheers
Why would you ask him to keep quiet? He looked into your case, researched your school and gave you his opinion as bluntly and unbiased as he could, and what does he get? You better arrange yourself. If I were you, i'ld redact my first response to his reply and tender an unreserved apology penitently.

I agree wiv the ID card part - I've been to Unilorin a number of times and I am amazed at how students hang their IDs around their necks religiously on and off campus.
I totally disagree with the 3 students in a department part. The pharmacy dept is still a fledgling one (barely 3yrs old) and the founding class (300L) has at least 10 students.
A lot of the other things you av written are nt unique to Unilorin. I can bet your condom usage ain't got nothing on unilag's or even UI for that matter.

i dont think it affects it negatively at all. All things being equal, having a wife (a pregnant one at dat) demonstrates strong ties back home so dats a boost for you. Tidy up all other aspects. All d best.
