Nairalanders, I am always amazed at the negativism that goes on in this forum. A lot of young people who dont have access to certain information are always castigating and abusing those who try their best to provide such information. Take the case of hailolive and the likes who wrongly accuse me of wanting to scam people with the Turkey appointment details. I am very sorry for your destiny. This is one of the ways some of you miss your destiny. Ignorance is very bad. If you don't believe the information why don't you just keep your mouth shot or is it your typing fingers you should keep away from your keyboard. A lot of guys have called me from this forum and they have used the information as provided by the Turkey embassy. It will be nice if any of you guys who called me to come out here and set the information right. Please i would love any member of this forum who resides in Abuja to go to House 5 on Amazon Street, Maitama and look up the information i shared on Turkey embassy and come back here to tell the whole house the truth. Or if you have any friend residing in Abuja, you can ask him/her to confirm for us. I am not the embassy and would not know why they dont have a website or why they chose to use gmail for their contact but still advice those who are looking for appointment to follow the information i earlier provided. stephedith, have you been able to get the appointment? I rest my case. Olu |

Welcome to a new month. A few guys from this forum called me to assist in getting Appointment Interview at the Turkish embassy because i live in Abuja. A guy called me this morning 2nd November 2009 and i decided to give everybody here the right information. So, i drove down to the embassy at Maitama and discovered that the rules have changed. The new rules were pasted on their notice board and took effect from 29th October 2009. I read on their notice board that Interview appointments are now done through email. You need to send a mail to them with the following details 1. Send a mail to their gmail account: visa.turkembabuja@gmail.com 2. Subject matter should read: Appointment Interview (If not your mail will not be treated) 3.Name on Passport 4. Passport number 5. Purpose of visit 6. Date of travel The instruction says that you must send the mail at least 2 weeks before your travel date. The embassy will reply you within a few days and once you are given a date, you must not miss it. You must also come along with originals of all your document. So guys, this is the new information you need and i wish you the best of luck. Olu in Abuja |

What i can deduce from this is that there is no perfect solution because most people have had bad experiences using the various providers. I know people who use Intercontinental and Zenith banks' cards that were declined. Well, if you want to register your domain name in naira, you can do so at www.web4africa.net, www.hostplusng.com or www.nairadomain.com There are so many uptions nowadays. Goodluck |
Webmasters / Re: Having Problems With Graphcard? by OluAbuja(m): 3:08pm On Oct 20, 2008 |
Hi sir, You did not mention exactly the reasons for the decline or rejection by the merchant. However, let me inform you that i have been using graphcard generated visacard for the past 3 years. Graphcard itself is not a payment card but a platform to do several things amongst which are visacard, receipt of cheques, purchase of online products e.t.c. In respect of your visacard generated through graphcard, there are only 2 issues always involved 1. If you do not use a US billing address 2. If you are using Nigeria IP address for your Internet access e.g Starcomms, Multilinks Reltel e.t.c. These IPs will be declined though your visacard is legitimate. Solution to the above 1. Pay for a US virtual address at Graphcard. It will cost you $49. 2. Download Hotspot Shield to shield your local IP from detection http://anchorfree.com/downloads/hotspot-shield/ 3. If you don't have your won system, locate any cafe that uses a foreign IP e.g Israel, UK, US, Greece e.t.c and all your payment will never be declined again 4.Follow Seun's advice by using orderpay. Indeed, i have heard some other people complain about having problems with graphcard but many people are still using it. Charliebiz has hit the nail on the head. Always have plan B in case your first option messes up or new rules and conditions emerge. Good luck, Love from Abuja. Olu |
Webmasters / Re: Monetizing Your Website by OluAbuja(m): 10:07pm On Jan 03, 2008 |
I agree with Akin that it depends on the niche(s) you want to operate in. There are over one million ways to make money online. Some are dubious while many are very genuine. You can monitize your website by becoming a domainer. A domainer is someone who registers a domain or domain names and parks or sells the domain name(s) to interested buyers. When you register the domain, place it on your website or a forum like this and you get paid anytime someone clicks on your domain name. Apart from parking the domain name, you can resell it between $500 and $5000 or above. Get more information from http://www.makemoneywithoutmailinglist.com You can buy domain names for $8 at site in my signature below and then resell at high price at www.sedo.com. Just my little contribution |

The funniest thing about all these violence is that the people from ND do not know the solution to their own agitations to the extent that they now kidnap and mail innocent people . The brother of a friend of mine who is stationed in Delta state was shot in the shoulder by some of these gangsters on 31st December 2007 and some people lost their lives. I now wonder what the struggle is all about? Really it beats my understanding. |

It looks as if some people are not given to details. The question was, What will you do if you found that someone had mistakenly deposited N650,000 into your bank account and you have waited for more than 2months and nobody came to you? What will you do with the money? |
Jokes Etc / Mystery Cash In Your Bank Account. Will You Return It by OluAbuja(m): 11:01am On Dec 03, 2007 |
Guys please read the following and then give your response Dear Dr. Don, I recently got a deposit from a store where I spent $14.54. The store debited the correct amount, but there's also a deposit from the same place for substantially more than $14.54. Is this a bank error or a store error? In either case, how long should I wait before I can consider it mine? -- Jenny Manna Here is Don's reply Dear Jenny, It's not a waiting game. You should never consider the money yours. It's more likely to be a store error than a bank error, since the bank wouldn't initiate a deposit into the account from the store. But it's an error in your banking account so you should go to your bank to attempt to correct the account. You've been a little bit coy about how much money is involved, but it doesn't really matter. Mistakes happen in transferring funds and the parties involved have the right to correct these mistakes. The Bankrate feature, "Bank error in your favor" describes some scenarios close to your situation and how they were resolved, but waiting out the bank isn't the answer. The full gist is on http://biz.yahoo.com/brn/071129/23544.html?.v=1 Back to you Nairalanders, taking into considerations your financial condition and somehow you went to your bank to check your balance and discovered that N650,000 was deposited into your account and you don't know who deposited it. You waited for 2days, 2weeks, 2months and nobody told you that he/she deposited money into your account, Fellow Nigerians what will you do with the money? 1. Tell the bank offcials that probably someone mistakenly deposited the money into your account. 2. Withdraw the money and close the account. 3. Withdraw the money and give it to the motherless 4. Withdraw the money and move out of your present rickety apartment to a new one. 5. Withdraw the money and buy a car What exactly will you do ? |

At times i wonder why abusive words are used on this forum and it makes me not to make comments on issues that should be tactfully addressed. Really, texazzpete i don't think it is nice calling people idiots when they express their concerns. You actually made your own points about how people could use parental filter to blocks contents that disturb them. Please let it be known that it is not just bigafrica or Nigerians that are complaining about big brother. Sometimes ago, the Australian prime minister wanted his country's version of "Big Brother" off the air after a female participant allegedly was molested live on the Internet. Here is the exact words of the prime minister "Here's a great opportunity for Channel Ten to do a bit of self regulation and get this stupid program off the air," Read the story here http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/australian-big-brother-incident-sets-off-sexual-assault-controversy-1009042.php You can also read comments on Vanguard's website http://www.vanguardngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1008&Itemid=81 The fact still remains that children are watching unclothedness and we must not encourage it. |

Otoks, you got my gist jare. Don't be surprised that some of the officials made some cool dollars in bringing Vogts to Nigeria. Now the wind has blown and we have seen their bumbum. EFCC should step in and look into the financial agreement with Vogts. How could we have agreed to over $1million when the local coaches are not even paid. Ewu NFA. |
Sports / Super Eagles Coach, Berti Vogts, Has Terminated His Contract With Nigeria by OluAbuja(m): 10:33am On Jun 06, 2007 |
"Super Eagles coach, Berti Vogts, has terminated his contract with Nigeria after the Nigerian FA defaulted on key areas of the contract agreed with the German last February. Vogts lawyers, the firm of Brehms and V. Moers of Germany, have already written to the NFA since May 25, informing them of the development and requesting that the NFA either pay up Berti's compensation - which, as KICK OFF disclosed exclusively in March, could be in the region of around $1.2 million - or renegotiate new contract terms. Wary about the poor reputation of the NFA, Berti's lawyers had drawn up a water-tight contract containing get-out clauses to ensure his protection from the NFA's now notorious inefficiency." Read the ull story here http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/sportsonthehour/2007/june/06/sportsbreak06-06-2007-001.htm I have always said it that foreign coaches are not good for Nigeria. He lost the game against Uganda and then resigned. What a shame. |

Nigeria's German coach Berti Vogts blamed the loss on poor officiating by the Egyptian referee. I think that is total rubbish from Vogts. He should be held responsible for the LOSS. I am not a prophet of doom but Vogts must be stopped now. He can't take us anywhere. He could not read the game well and profer strategies for the eagles to win the game. This guy does not understand our players at all. I beg, i am angry that we lost the match. |

Haba babyosisi, you no dey fear o . Me wey be 6.1feet tall na im you wan break im neck. I pity you. Anyway, i pray you don't find yourself in that situation when your husband will demand that you resign from your job. Laudate, thanks for pointing out that it is just a few Ibo guys that engage in this kind of primitive and selfish acts. Moreso, you drew my attention to the situations in the North. Yeah, you are really correct. The Northerners are more guilty. Can we way that their reason for imposing this backward unwritten law is religious or cultural Hi Spoilt, i do agree with you that some men just want their wives to stay at home with the kids. My question is for how long will the wife remain idle? |
Family / Re: Husbands Who Ask Their Wives To Resign Their Jobs by OluAbuja(m): 2:36pm On May 17, 2007 |
Let me add a new dimension to this issue. I have personally observed that IBO guys get threatened in marriage when their wives are earning some good salary and thereby use their Manliness (whatever) to command that their wives should stay at home. In the case of my above instance, the guy is IBO and very unsecure. He just wanted to prove that he is a man and i told him that a man does not cage his wife on flimsy excuses. Can you image that the two of them actually went to the same University, graduated the same year and served (NYSC) in the same year. The lady also told me that the guy actually toated her throughout their university days but she refused his advances until their NYSC days when she succumbed Na wa 4 IBO guys. If you think this is not prevalent with IBO guys then prove me wrong. |

Family / Re: Husbands Who Ask Their Wives To Resign Their Jobs by OluAbuja(m): 3:01pm On May 15, 2007 |
I didn't want to make any reply to this post but changed my mind because i was involved in a case where we had to counsel a wife to resign from her work. The husband claimed that their marriage will collapse and infact was ready to divorse his wife because their children are not getting enough attention. He also claimed that his wife does not give him attention. 3rdly, he claimed that his wife's job is not making her more intelligent enough because she does routine work. The man violently insisted that she must resign from the job lest he would file for divorce and he was dead serious about it. Personally, i was shocked to my marrow as regards the above reasons and i think it is more than that. I suspect another woman is turning his head because you guys need to see his wife, very beautiful young woman. She cried throughout the meeting and my wife even joined her to cry. The man was just too hard. My wife and i really sympatised with the lady but what else could we have done but to give some sort of solution that will appeal to the two In order to keep their marriage, the lady had to agree to the husband's terms. We had to request that he allow 2months for disengagement from the job. I doff my hat for the lady and pray that God will turn the situation for her good. The simple truth is that her family/marriage is superior to her job Friends, there are many reasons that can make a husband to ask his wife to resign from her job. Some are selfish reasons, another might be for health reasons and some might be or family reasons. What will you do if you find yourself in that position? May God help you take the right decision in Jesus name. |

Hi Minemine, My company Sephix Limited is at Suite 29, AUA Plaza, Plot 734 Kade Street, Behind Tantalizer, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja. Feel free to pop in. egoldman, I personally don't think you should castigate Goldkobo and drag the company into hell. My business transaction with goldkobo has been smooth and that is why i refer so many people including all my downlines to the company. I spoke with the CEO of goldkobo about your case and he explained your situation. I believe you should try and reconcile properly with the company. THIS IS TO ALL INTERNET MARKETERS AND INTENDING INTERNET MARKETERS Read rules, terms and conditions of any company you deal with on the Internet and if not okay with them, don't do business with them. It is your money. Don't throw it away cheaply. One of the problems with us Nigerians is that we don't read terms and conditions of companies and when challenges come we cry foul play. Let me give you a practical example of the cost of neglecting Terms and Conditions. I personally lost about $2000 to an american company in 2005 because i disregarded their tems and conditions. I cried my heart out when my account was terminated. God and my wife were the ones that carried the burden with me. This is my little advice. Olu |
