Cozbymaster97: Russia I shake my head for una! Country about to collapse Remaining SWIFT ban I will love it if the US remove Russia from SWIFT. Russia will continue to trading, whether she is removed from SWIFT or not. She has created her own payment system. They call it MIR. Several countries have already plugged in to this payment system. The MIR system was introduced in Armenia and South Ossetia in 2018, and in 2019 it was introduced in Abkhazia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. In 2021, MIR was launched in United Arab Emirates. Bulgaria and Thailand are expected to follow, according to Central Bank of Russia. It was also being tested in the UK and in South Korea. So any country that want to do business with Russia will has to use the Russian made payment systems. Although in a short term, if Russia is unplugged from SWIFT, it will affect her economy negatively. But in a long term, we will end up having two, three or more payment systems. The Chinese will definitely create their own too. |

You are a good writer. I love your write up.
If Russia survive the sanctions that have been imposed and the ones that are yet to be imposed. The US & it's allies will loose the economic power, they have over Russia totally. They want to fire their last bullet and if Russia survive it. It will be a loss for the US & it's allies.
They need to think carefully before firing that last bullet. |

indeed.. When the dissolution of the Soviet Union occured. Russia became very poor. It's economy was weak. It's military was in a bad shape. The only thing Russia had was it's nuclear arsenal. Putin came and turn things around for Russia. You read up on the post USSR. |

FERNANDEZISBACK: Let's see how it goes for Russia.. Very violent and sick dictator who's bent on destroying the world..
Was this not how Adolf started his nonsense.. something similar.. Modified:who are the buzzos saying Russia is fighting for a reason..what nonsense old territory is he fighting to get back..
Putin is an abject failure as “president” of Russia. In reality he’s a dictator who frankly has utterly failed to deliver. Russia’s economy sucks, their government is ruled by a criminal junta under Putin’s command, and Putin owes much to the petrochemical oligarchs who, in reality, control the economy.
Russia has continued to slip more and more under Putin every year. Putin NEEDS a win. His control demands respect, and he’s getting less of that every year in Russia. Putin thinks if he can rebrand himself as some sort of “Russia builder” that he can improve his image. That’s about it. Russia doesn’t NEED Ukraine, it’s all about his image... He's just being scared of NATO..he does not want a future NATO country on his border..very weird guy.. To all his babyish nairaland supporters..will you prefer to be ruled by Putin or Biden..or do you prefer Russia to USA if you get the chance? Russia rose from grass to grace under Putin. Russia experience massive development under Putin. Russia was economical and militarily dead before Putin came on board. You can call him a dictator. But not a failure. |

God1000: I hope Russia will survive this because things are going to get very ugly for Putin.
Joe biden asked, who in the lord's name does Putin think gives him the right to declare new so-called countries on territory that belonged to its neighbours, this is a flagrant violation of international law and it demands a firm response from the international community Russia is fully prepared for this. But truth be told, the sanctions will negatively affect Russia in a short term. She will survive it. Infact to the West it is an experiment. Sanctions of this magnitude have never been placed on a country that it's economy is as big as Russia. Russia already has alternative for the Nord Stream II. Pipeline from Russia to China is being constructed. Also it has alternative for the swift system. Russia has created it own payment system. So in a short term, it will be a problem for her. But in a long term, we end up having two payment systems. Russian dependence on dollar has been reduced from 40% to 16%. In my view Russia will come out strong, and if this happens the West will no longer be able to sanction Russia. |

yungmill: No shits Sherlock from wish! I guess you are the teacher fela sang about! can't name one successful communist country, doesn't know china isn't "communist" in actual practice anymore, spreads communist propaganda for the failure of communism, i guess it was propaganda that created food shortages and scarcity in the soviet union, i guess it was the usa that made mao and co eliminate millions of his people and stalin disposing of his own people, i guess its the usa that made china implement SOCIAL CREDIT SCORE and imprison UGYOR muslims? I guess its the usa that broke up Yugoslavia not the deficiency of communism.
Lastly why ain't you in venezuela a true marxist state? Is marxism no longer eldorado?. Funny how i shut you up with facts of the top of the dome which you can't counter but pull the usual ignoramus attack on my person but not my points, really clever Einstein from aba! I guess teacher sorry einstein from aba can tell us who sir otto von Bismarck is? Kaiser williams? What is or was prussia? What is ruanda? Who was sir Neville Chamberlain? Who are the Abyssinians? Where in the world is meroe? Who are the punites, cathage? Holstien? Hansiatic league? Please do tell us lord marxist Einstein from wish fela warned us about. Neither capitalism nor democracy is the problem here. But the guardians of these ideologies are the problem. Invading a sovereign nation using false flag is undemocratic. Democracy didn't invade Iraq. It was Bush who invaded. Forcing democracy on sovereign nations using economic sanctions and military action is undemocratic. Capitalism, Socialism & Socialism are brilliant idealogies in my view. But the guardians (the leaders) of these idealogies are the problem. They don't play by the book most times. |

smallsmall: Ukraine actually is doing the provocation! It knows it cannot win a War with Russia but it is banking on NATO, though it is not a member. Ukraine wants to use the support of NATO, Europe and USA, to get more weapons from them, to forcefully take-back the Donbass region and hopefully be in line to join NATO soon.
But it will end in tears for Ukraine because American support is not without drawback and pain. America just needs a staging point for its Missiles to point at Russia, a close one for that matter but Ukraine wants to turn itself to a War Zone because Russia will also be ready to eraze Ukraine, and even sieze, before America can make it a Military Base. For Russia, Ukrain is becoming an existential threat and with that, nothing is off the table, even a Nuclear War I disagree with your 1st point. The so called lethal weapon the West has been delivering to Ukraine is not going to change the balance of power between Russia and Ukraine. Zelenszky knows this. To deter Russia. Ukraine needs advance fighter jets, helicopter and defense systems. But they can afford them. Ukraine was banking on the US, NATO & EU to use whatever necessary methods to deter Russia & may be pressure them to admit Ukraine in NATO. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Putin To Officially Recognise Breakaway Ukraine Regions by olugabbie(op): 11:48pm On Feb 21, 2022 |
Now that Russian lightly armed troops (peace keepers) have been ordered to enter Donbas.
Two scenarios will likely play out in the coming days.
The West will likely impose light sanctions on Russia & Donbas itself. If this happens. Russia will not launch full scale invasion, she will likely keep the pressure on Ukraine. This will further deteriorate Ukrainian economy. At some point Ukraine will likely drop NATO membership ambition for peace and to avoid implosion.
Or the West will impose the harsh economic sanctions on Russia. This is unlikely, as it may likely trigger full invasion, because Russia will have nothing to loose.
Whatever happens Putin will get what it wants. |
