Is that how you will surrender if your country was to be invaded by another?
You rather die on your kneel serving your oppressor as a coward than fight for your right?
Haha
He should surrender, apply for EU, rebuild his country (may be difficult, civilians now have guns, javelin e.t.c), rebuild his economy and rebuild his military to deter further invasion.

NATO has enough defensive systems to defend all it's alliances..

NATO is too powerful to involve in Russia invasion of Ukraine, because it will likely lead to WW3... Russia in the other hand is just a stupid country with a foolish leader.... Invading an independent country is violating int'l law. And you might not understand the weight and meaning to sanctions. Russia will it want the world to see them as being weak. But the sanctions is taking a good till on them.
NATO is a military alliance on paper and not in reality. The article five (an attack on one is an attack on others) is not going to work in reality. Although it will work as a detterence.

Poland wanted to give Ukraine it's Soviet era fighter jets. The US gave poland the permission to send them to Ukraine. Poland sent the fighter jets to US base in Germany and told the US (the most powerful country in world) to send them to Ukraine. Both the US and Germany refuse to take the responsible of sending the fighter jets to Ukraine. Even the United Kingdom was silent about it. If the Polish government is sure that the alliance will protect Poland, the aircrafts would have been delivered by Poland directly to Ukraine.

All the US & UK needed to do is to re-assure Poland that it's security is guaranteed, rather than passing the responsibility from one NATO member to another. This is a sign of the loopholes in the alliance. A threat of a world war will break the alliance. No country will allow Russia to fire ICBM into it's territory, all in the name of protecting another NATO member. This is a fact.

NATO is powerful. Everyone knows that, as long as they are united. But if the threat of a real nuclear war will destroy the unity.

Russia will go down....

No country will stand against the west over Putin's foolishness..
So what will the West do, if Russia uses nuclear weapon? Invade Russia?

The only thing they can do is to imposed sanctions.

Infact, the NATO article 5 is a foolish idea. It can only work as a detterence. But if the threat of a new world war is real, the Alliance will break. Cos some countries will never allow their cities to be nuke for others.

The US fought against a weaker military that has no Javelin and Stinger and a lots of their soldiers were captured. US aircraft were downed and tanks were destroyed.

This is the reality of war. No matter how strong your military is, you will loose soldiers and some will be captured.

This is war not video game. Soldiers will be captured for sure and some will be killed.
This is expected. Russian soldiers captured Ukrainians soldiers too. It is clear that Ukraine os winning on social media.

Russian never review captured Ukraine soldiers. A lots of Western weapons have been seized and yet you won't see all these online.

During the Operation desert storm. The US lost 37 aircraft to a military that jas no advance anti-aircraft capabilities. They had no manpad or stinger and lost about 200 tanks to a military that had RPG and not advance weapon like Javelin.

It is war. Civilians and soldiers will die. A lots of military men will be captured.

Is not high time Russia dropped this their madness and embraced peace.
Take away the nuclear weapons, and they are gone
When you are fighting with a country that is getting help from US & UK, it will be extremely difficult to win.

The countries above are providing the Ukrainians with lethal weapons, Surveillance and intelligent. Ukrainian military on it's own is far stronger than Iraqis military when it was invaded by the US. They have capable advance defense systems like the S-300 and Pantsir defense system and a very strong ground force. Although they lack air power and naval power.

Now they are getting portable anti-aircraft missiles which has made it difficult for Russia to enjoy air superiority. Although Russia still control the sky. But their aircraft are being shot down. The Ukrainian have thousands of these weapon, and in addition they have their own defense systems like i mentioned earlier. They also have thousands on anti-tank systems. These weapons are in the hand of civilians and military men.

I respect Putin for not given up because of these challenges. The Russians on the battle field keep advancing. No other forces on earth can face the whole world in a war like the Russians are doing now.

I am 100 sure that if the US were in Russian shoes they will loose. The Russians are determined. They will take Ukraine eventually.

The White House has commented on reports in the past 24 hours that Moscow is considering seizing the assets of Western firms that have left the country
White House Press secretary Jen Psaki has warned, in a series of tweets, that such a "lawless" move from Russia would damage its business reputation in the long run.
Every day, we’re seeing more and more firms exiting Russia in protest of its invasion of Ukraine. McDonalds, Western Union, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Warner Music have all signalled that intention recently.
All of these businesses have offices, buildings, factories, storefronts in Russia – these could all be forcibly taken by the state if the reports about Moscow’s intentions are right.

Security experts in the airline industry are growing increasingly worried that surface-to-air missiles in Ukraine could end up in the wrong hands.

Britain is amongst several Western countries supplying Ukrainian forces with sophisticated shoulder-launched missiles to help them resist the Russian invasion. But aviation safety analysts fear some of the country’s arsenal could eventually turn up on the black market.

Flying at four times the speed of sound, the Starstreak missile system, which UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announced this week may soon be sent to Ukraine, is one of the fastest and most sophisticated means of bringing down a low-flying aircraft in flight.

It’s part of a package of additional military support for Ukraine now under consideration as the country battles to fend off the Russian advance. But although the Starstreak system is technically a ‘MANPAD’ – a Man Portable Air Defence System – it is not as light or as easy to conceal as some of Ukraine’s older, Soviet-era stock of shoulder-launched missiles, such as the SAM-7.

Aviation safety analysts fear that, amid the chaos of war, these could end up in the hands of organised criminal gangs. Matt Borie, the chief intelligence officer for Osprey Aviation Solutions, which monitors the proliferation of such weapons, says there is now a risk that the chaotic situation in Ukraine could mirror that of Libya after the fall of the Gaddafi regime in 2011.

There, thousands of weapons, including surface-to-air missiles, were looted from government armouries. An international effort then had to be launched to buy them back before they fell into the hands of al-Qaeda or the Islamic State group.

A British Airways official said the airline planned to stay clear of Ukrainian airspace for the foreseeable future.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has confirmed that it is changing its rules on violent speech in several countries because of the Ukraine invasion.

The company says that it has "temporarily" made allowances for violent speech - for example “death to the Russian invaders” - that would usually break its rules.

Meta said, though, it won’t allow credible calls for violence against Russian civilians.

The internal emails discussing the policy were obtained by Reuters, and have not been seen by the BBC.

The Reuters report says that posts that call for death to Russian President Vladimir Putin or Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will be allowed in several countries.

The temporary policy change allowing for calls for violence against Russian soldiers applies to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine, according to one email.
I saw this on bbc.com this morning and i was dumbfounded. This makes no sense.

It is easier to defeat Russia at home than USA. No army can invade USA by land.

But we saw what Germans did to Russians.
Of course, the US is thousands of kilometers. There are two obtacles.

1. The US navy
2. If you miraculously defeat the US (which is not likely), it will be impossible to defeat it's air force and ground troops in it's territory.

USSR was not really strong at the beginning of the 2nd world war. Likewise the US. The Soviet tried to stay neutral. They knew that the germans were unstoppable. It was the war that made the US & the Soviet super powers.

If Hitler had fought with Russia before invade France and others. He would have come out victorious. The Germans were invincible during the 2nd world war. But they over stretched their military.
