I want to buy at least 3 units of HP Compaq NC4200. It's a 12 inch business notebook. I just got two pieces (failry used) at computer village for 40gees each, but that was all they had in stock. If anyone has please send an sms to: 07025018178 or just by replying to this thread. Thanks. |
Hint: Get a dot com webhosting. Do all you wanna do. Go live. When the dot com dot ng domain is set, Point it to your existing stuff, And you should be okay, |
Nice. template or not. Still nice. A lot of people wouldn't know what to do even if they were given all the templates in the world. @soulstar: for a beginner, the wiredentertainment site no too bad like that. A few things tho', 1. Avoid using flash for your menus, when shit hits the 'flash' fan, (like when you disbale javascript and flash,) you'll be left hanging with ur 'kini' in your hands. The middle flash movie is nice, keep it and lose the one with the menu. 2. Convert your menu to a list (css) can do all the shiznit that you want. I like the 2digits website too. Nice. But when you disbale javascript and flash, you are left with a kini kan white space, |
There's a huge difference between a web developer and an interface/web designer. If you are not too good with the visuals side of things, contract that side out. 'Cos really, let's face it, your application might be able to save the world, but if it's not visually appealling, fuggid bourrit! @webguru: Nice thing that you pointed Switchmax to resource websites. BUT, I'm so sorry to say this, your own designs are worse than his. Heck! Try these resources: www[dot]htmldog[dot]com and/or www[dot]w3schools[dot]com It always pays off to start from the ground up. Everytime you visit a website that you like, view the Page Source. See how the code is structured, view linked css files and compare them with what you have done in the past. Coding is not typewriting BUT it can be done right. If you need help, I can fast track you (in my own limited way) |
Go girl, I know you'll come out even better than before. God speed ya! |
1st of all, why does evryone want his/her own nairaland.com? Secondly: @ poster, you can install the forum thingy yourself, when you are ready, I'm sure the good people in here will fast track you. @yawatide: did you say celestial mastur, or sumthign else? Laughing my black ass out. |
However, I decided to review my rates after reading an article somewhere on the web which says one should not charge too little than all his peers in the freelance industry because it will lower the standard market rate. It is one of the most eye-opening articles for me because you don’t want to set an inaccurate expectation and sell the industry that you work for short.Sounds like pure capitalist yarn to me, But, I can relate. |
Broda, This hardly makes any sense. It's pure slavery. You can get an unlimited bandwidth and unlimited hosting space @ www.dreamhost.com for 14,000 a year. And it's a reseller account. And what is he to do with the US address and telephone number things? Fraud? Get real bro. |
What do you want done? |
First of all, post the url of the website you are talking about. Secondly, I guess people will need more details. |
I wonder what you guys would say to the Omo Yapayastik bombastic Durella! Free the Koko master, and FALL IN LOVE. |
What kinda website. Or are you saying: Hey peeps, I've got enough money to finance a collaborative website thingy, oya, bring una ideas, ? |
Which of the CMS are you using? |
Yet another nairaland (sigh*)Using a CMS is not bad, but the guy should be able to mod the VBulletin whatchamacallit to at least look better and much more appealling, |
@Kheme: Ki ni big deal. @Yawatide: Don't mind Kheme. Check out http://www(dot)dot(tk) and you'll get your answers. It's a free domain name being offered by some organisation. The .tk extension represents Tokelau. |
@switchmax: DUH! @Onasharon: Start with www.w3schools.com's html resource After that, learn how to combine css and html at www.htmldog.com (All these you can learn in a weekend) When you are done with that, holla back in this forum and we'll continue your lessons. |
Nice work. -The whole scrolling pastor thing, kill it. -You didn't need to use flash for loading the images (Consider using animated gif, they load faster) -I like the colour, but I feel you could have combined other colours to boost the overall appearance. -The background hides the effort you have put into this job (do sumthing about it). -Is that a marquee? Dude! -In my own opinion, the church' logo is too big, so's the Header. Overall, nice concept, |
Your question is too ambiguous. PROBABLY, the person told you that based on the fact that you need a little more than html to be able to parse a form on a web page (depending on what you wanna achieve) First off, figure out what your issue is and repost, |
There is a process of layering the flash movie (.swf) in several flash containers. So that when RIPPERS* steal or import your flash content and try to decompile it all they get is the flash container. But since the flash container will probably have a link to the main flash movie, ha! (sighs*) As per the banks, dem dey try (make we no lie). I just hope they come to Nairaland and contract some of us to do their web jobs. Amen (big big money ooooo) |
Use black hat methods and get blacklisted forever. Imagine google blacklisting a URL, 'Nuff said |
Hmmn, I see the thread has grown. And it's still professionals talking. Yawa-ti-de, please post a link to your website. Meanwhile, guys, I didn't really pay attention to Nigerian Banks' web design and functionalities, So, i went round and got some links, Here, what do you guys think? Check: http://www.accessbankplc.com/ http://www.skyebankng.com/ http://www.diamondbank.com/ http://www.bankphb.com/live/general/ http://www.gtbplc.com/ Javascript is really nice and adds a lot to the overall user experience, BUT if used wrong, like in the case of gtbank and diamond bank websites, It could kill the so called USER EXPERIENCE and we won't even have to consider graceful degradation. PS. Invite more web designers and developers to join this thread. I think we'll get to learn, really. |
OK. Seun, what about advertising on Nairaland.com? What are the rates, duration and all that jazz. Come on. |
I think I got the message they were trying to pass with the ad. But, why was it that long? And it wasn't particularly funny. |
Yet another nairaland (sigh*)
