The event was attended by the likes of Adekunle Gold, Broda Shaggi among others.

Nigerian legendary footballer, Obafemi Martins Today October 28th clocked 35 years of age.

He was born on 28 October 1984. He played as forward for the Nigerian national team and he is known for his speed on the ball.

Obafemi left Nigeria for Italy at the age of 16 and has since played for a number of top-division clubs around Europe . He has played for Inter Milan, Newcastle United VfL Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Birmingham City among others.

Chelsea 21-year old-defender, Fikayo Tomori, who is of Nigerian descent in a latest statement has opened up on the reason he didn’t join the Super Eagles as he stated that he didn’t receive any invite from Nigerian Football Federation NFF.

This is contrary to the belief of members of the public, who were disappointed over Tomori opting to play for England in the 2020 Euro Qualifiers over Nigeria.

The Blues defender revealed he still loves Nigeria.

“ It was a difficult choice for me. It was something I had to think about for a year or two and I was previously at the U-21 Euros, so I wasn’t thinking too far ahead, but then there was a lot of talk and questions and I had to make a decision ,” he told Omasports.

England called me up in September, and I didn’t get a call up from anyone when they called me up, it was hard to say no to them.”

He is still eligible to play for Nigeria and could join the likes of Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses, who at one time played for England at the Youth Level before joining the Nigerian Senior team.

Ngg.ng report that Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju has been named as the host for the 15th Africa Movie Academy Award AMAA which will take place on Sunday.

This latest development was made public on Friday by the Organizers of the award.
Lala Akindoju is not a new face in the movie industry, she is a good movie maker herself and has played part in several movies and have also been nominated for awards which include the most promising actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2015.

According to the latest report, the Federal Executive Council FEC in a meeting which took place on Wednesday and headed by VP Yemi Osinbajo has approved a change of name for the Ministry of Communications.

The Ministry is now to be called Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

This was made public by Spokesperson to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ahmad Bashir.

He wrote, “The Federal Executive Council has approved the change of name for Ministry of Communications, now to be called Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.”

Nigerian legendary footballer, Kanu Nwankwo on Wednesday celebrated his one time coach, Arsene Wenger, who turned 70 years today.

Arsène Charles Ernest Wenger OBE popularly known as Arsene Wenger was born on 22nd of October 1949.

He is a French football manager and also a former player.

His best days was when he served as manager of Arsenal FC from 1996 to 2018, where he became the longest-serving and most successful coach in the club's history.

Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama in a recent post on Instagram shared a photo where she revealed her abs while working out in a gym.

As part of the medium to reduce the traffic situation in Lagos State, the Government of Babajide Sanwo-Olu is looking at focusing on water transportation since the state is mostly surrounded by water.

In a statement on Thursday, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced that his administration will build a jetty at the University of Lagos Unilag waterfront.

According to the Governor, the jetty will allow the school enjoy the water transportation initiatives set to begin in the state soon.

Ngg.ng reports that Nigerian artiste, Adekunle Gold on Monday night hosted a special listening session for his new album, AfroPop at Youtube Space in London where a selected few pre listened to the yet to be released an album.

According to the reports, Adekunle Gold the new album was supposed to be a five-track album but he wrote 25 songs, which further proved how good he is in songwriting.

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN has called for disciplinary actions against Lawyers that try to blackmail the Supreme Court into taking decision in their interest.

Keyamo made this known after the Supreme Court accused the CUPP of engaging in campaign calumny.

He wrote in a tweet, "Enough is enough. The legal profession is still regulated by the highest ethical standards. If any lawyer is found to be amongst those who consciously seek to blackmail the S/Court by threats or wild & unsubstantiated accusations, he/she must be dragged before disciplinary bodies.''

Keyamo also stressed that there should be punishment for those who are not legal practitioners but also seeking to blackmail the Supreme Court.

The Minister wrote, ''For those who’re not lawyers who publicly seek to blackmail the S/Court to do the bidding of their own political party, for their own selfish interest & in the guise of seeking for their subjective justice, the law regarding contempt of court would be FULLY activated against them."

Two Asian countries, North Korea and South Korea, who are still technically at war, will on Tuesday go head to head as they seek to qualify for the 2022 World Cup Qualifier in Qatar.

According to the records, this will be the first football derby between the two countries since 1990.

And as it used to be the case the past, the match was either played in South Korea or a third country but this time around it would take place in North Korea capital, Pyongyang.

The strange part of it is that the match will not be broadcast live and also there will be no fan from South Korea, and no foreign media in the stands, according to BBC.

"Football is the most popular spectator sport in North Korea and sports are hugely important for the North," Andray Abrahamian, Senior Adjunct Fellow at the Pacific Forum, told the BBC.

According to the latest report, the Ijegun-Egba tank farm owners and operation association has gotten approval from the Lagos State Government to reconstruct and dualize Ijegun road leading to the farm area.

This latest development was made known on Monday by the Lagos State Government, which applauded the association for coming up with the partnership.

The Lagos State Government also added that his administration is open to further partnership that will bring about development at the grassroots.

According to the latest report, the Federal Government has directed that all cabinet members and head of governmental agencies should suspend all international trips.

This latest directives is to enable them avail themselves for the 2020 budget defence at the National Assembly.

Recall that Pres. Muhammdu Buhari submitted the budget earlier this week and at the moment the National Assembly are still debating on it.

There have been rumours about President Muhammadu Buhari getting married to a new wife on Social Media.

The Nigerian Football Federation NFF on Friday denied the rumours making rounds that the body is owing expatriate coaches Gernot Rohr and Thomas Dennerby three months salaries.

Rohr is only owed salary for September while Dennerby has tendered his resignation letter, according to the NFF.

The Football body further disclosed that it gave Dennerby all the support he needed but they disagreed on his request to bring in more expatriate coaches which was one of the reasons why he resigned.

NFF explains Rohr, Dennerby situations The NFF wishes to put records straight with regards to a claim in the social media on Friday, 11th October 2019 that the football house is owing Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, three months’ salary. 

As we speak, Mr. Rohr is only being owed salary for the month of September 2019, which is being processed. As for Mr. Thomas Dennerby, we have received his resignation letter and of course, he has his right to resign from a job.

We want to put it on record that no Head Coach in the history of the Super Falcons has been afforded the level and readiness of support that has been provided Mr. Dennerby by this Board.

Perhaps, one of the reasons he left was because we did not accede to his request to bring in more expatriate coaches and an indigenous coach who do not have the required license.

If we had agreed to his request for more expatriate coaches, that would have left our indigenous coaches presently with the team in the lurch.

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday apprehended some traffic defaulters.

Sanwo-Olu in his statement stressed that there is no excuse for road users to break traffic rules.

The Governor said,

"There's no excuse for road users to break traffic rules by taking one-way and going against traffic. Today was an unlucky day for perpetrators of this selfish and disorderly act. Behaviour such as this will not be tolerated. Let's not make total bedlam of our roads."


This comes after the Deputy Gov, Dr Obafemi Hamzat had apprehended some traffic defaulters earlier this week.

Former Chelsea and Arsenal goalie, Petr Cech has signed a new contract with Ice Hockey team, Guildford Phoenix.

This comes after his 20 years of playing as a profession football.

An excited Petr Cech made this known via his social media handle on Wednesday night, where he said,

"Some people seem to think I've changed my job. No I didn't.

"Luckily my job at Chelsea doesn't stop me in my spare time from playing the game I loved as a kid and which I've been playing for years. While being a professional footballer I couldn't play the game for obvious reasons. Now I can."

According to the reports, he will be the Phoenix's third-choice keeper, and will train when his Chelsea schedule allows.

He is also likely to make his debut this weekend.

Guildford Phoenix have also confirmed the contract as they disclosed that they are happy to have signed Cech, who they consider to be hardworking.
