Nigerian music diva, Tiwa Savage is working tirelessly on a new project which is expected to be out very soon.

The talented mother of one, however, in a statement disclosed the situation of things surround the project as she revealed how a  producer caught her attention owing to his hard work.

She revealed that while other producers had gone to rest, the producer continued to work till 4 am.

Tiwa Savage stressed that she was amazed by his devotion and hard work and would definitely work with him.

Tiwa Savage is set to release her next album in 2020 after dropping Owo Mi Da and Attention towards the end of 2019.

She continues to maintain her spot as the Number one female singer in the country in a male-dominated industry.

Nigerian veteran comedian, Bright Okpocha better known as Basketmouth in a latest statement with hipTV expressed his certainty about trending artiste, Burna Boy winning the prestigious Grammy Award in 2020.

 

Burna Boy had a successful year in 2019 especially following the release of his African Giant album with 19 tracks.

The album earned him a nomination for the 2020 Grammys’ ‘Best International Album’ category, which will take place on the 22nd of January at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Basketmouth said “He (Burna Boy) is going to win it for sure, I know. I don’t see why he won’t win it,” he said.

“And after he wins it, trust me, it won’t be the last from Nigeria because you know Nigerians, we are very hardworking, we are persistent and we love to win. So, it is going to motivate a colony of artistes that go out there to take all the Grammys.”

He also disclosed that 2019 was one of the best moments for the Nigerian Entertainment industries as many gained international recognition.

The comedian went on to applaud the likes of Ramsey Noah, Genevieve Nnaji and other Nollywood veterans, for their impact in the movie industry in 2019.

I don't know if you all noticed the changes on Nairaland late last year.

The reason why American are better than us the Nigerians or blacks is that they inform us ahead what exactly is about to happen.

Nairaland is one of the biggest platform in the country and it as helped a lot little blogs to become great.

I noticed something new about the platform that I would need help from the moderators.

1. If you develop any news from Twitter or Facebook or Instagram the moderator removes the blog link and replaces with the social media platform.

The effort wasted by the little blog to develop the write up will be wasted , all credit won't be giving to the blog but the social media which is unfair.


2. Some contents now on the platform doesn't hit the front page again not because they are not good it is because the moderators can't find the source of the news.

3. The moderators aren't helping little blogs to grow again.

4. Nairaland as helped alot of little make name in the country, i see naira land as a social media now like facebook, Twitter, Snapchat where people can share their contents.

5. If you guys are going to make any changes on the platform, please just give us notice.

The Yoruba States' Joint Police Force to protect the region from kidnapping and other forms of crime is set for takeoff.

'Amotekun', the joint security outfit was conceived in July at the height of serious security challenge in the region. But its commencement was delayed due to hitches in the recruitment of personnel and the need to review operation guidelines.

Tagged: ‘Operation Amotekun’, the outfit is a product of the security summit organised by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission on behalf of the six governors in June. The summit was organised in response to the wave of kidnappings, armed robberies and other forms of criminality which peaked in the region at the time.



The governors reasoned that a joint regional security outfit was necessary to confront crimes and prevent its continuation. But the security challenge has subsided as a result of individual efforts by the states.

Operation Amotekun will be a two-layer operation – at the central level and at the local level.

One hundred and twenty vehicles will be deployed for the central operation with the headquarters in Gbongan, Osun State on the Ibadan-Ile-Ife highway.

Each of the six states of Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos will supply 20 vehicles.

According to the plan, the personnel for the operation will be made up of local hunters, members of vigilance groups specifically hired, men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).



The outfit will be managed by a regional committee that will comprise representatives of each state. The committee’s office is expected to be sited in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The police component will be headed by an assistant commissioner of police.

A source close to the project said that the six states are ready for Amotekun’s inauguration. All huddles, it was gathered, have been cleared.

The states have each procured 20 patrol vans, equipped with communication and security gadgets. Other security vehicles procured by the states will be deployed for state-based operations. This will ensure that criminals are choked in, unable to escape from one state to another.



According to the source, the vehicles for the operation will be brought to Ibadan for branding and inauguration on January 9, unless there is a last-minute change of plan. The operational bases for Amotekun in each state is also ready.

Journalists who visited the Olajokun Park on the Ibadan-Ife expressway at Gbongan, which will serve as the operational base for Amotekun, observed that rehabilitation work had commenced. Weeding of the compound is almost done with, while the buildings are being painted.



The copy of the Standard Operating Practice (SOP) is being reviewed by the governors.

The final submission will be fine-tuned by a committee, including representatives of DAWN Commission for the final draft to be approved by the governors before the outfit is unveiled.

Another source close to the project explained that the ongoing review would re-examine the mechanism and tools to be used and the oversight functions of Amotekun in relation to conventional security agencies.

“If all these are not properly defined, Amotekun will take off on a faulty foundation.” The source added.

The reviewed document is expected to be endorsed by all stakeholders, led by Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who is the chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, before January 9.

Popular singer, Zlatan Ibile has joined the list of Nigerian artiste with their own music label, this comes as he announced his 'Zanku Music Label' on January 1st 2019.

Prior to starting his music label, Zlatan was a recording artist signed to Alleluia Boys.

As at now, there is yet to be any artist signed to the label.

However, Ngg.ng can confirm that the artwork for the label is ready.

A look at the logo showed that the name of the label came as a result of the popular Zanku Dance.

The reason for Zlatan Ibile moving to create his record label may be as a result of his rise to stardom in 2019. As at 2018, the rapper stressed that he was driving a Toyota Sienna and didn't have a house of his own.

But in 2019 he not only performed at Afro Nation in Ghana, with the likes of Wizkid and Akon in attendance he also headlined his own show.

The latest move by Zlatan Ibile is similar to most Nigerian artistes, who are in the habit of moving from the music label that brought them to the limelight to start their own.

While a handful have been successful, majority of them end up becoming unpopular, hopefully Zlatan will join the successful few.

The former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose in a statement on Wednesday threw a shade at the social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie and his "political haters.''

Recall that Lauretta Onochie earlier on Wednesday shared a video of the former Governor dancing with foreigners outside the country on a 'Medical Trip'

Onochie in her statement said the video of Fayose dancing showed that ''he is no longer in severe pain and we wouldn't be seeing him on stretches during his next court appearance or on his way to jail.
 
Fayose, refused to let the statement slide as he fired back at Onochie. According to him, he was on medical check-up and not admission. 

He said, "Once again, Happy New Year to everyone, particularly my haters politically or otherwise. How far can you go in your machinations? Definitely nowhere. Remember; "He that is blessed of God cannot be cursed." I will remain your headache in 2020 if you don’t repent."

5. Don’t compare yourself to others

At this stage and time in life, it is necessary for everyone to know that it is wrong comparing yourself with others. Be yourself and pursue your dream. Ditch the need for people's approval.

After taking time to process the event, forgive yourself and keep the past experience in mind so you don't fall for something similar.

Popular entertainer, Charles Oputa better known as Charly Boy or Area Father on December 30th finally laid his mother, Margaret Oputa to rest.

Charly Boy in a statement praised his late mother as he said 'My Dearest Mother, The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you, shall never pass away. I trust you’re Happy now. Tell Papa I galant die.'

Recall that Mrs Margaret Ntianu Oputa died on Tuesday the 8th of October, 2019 at the age of 101.

Nigerian top artiste and DMW label boss, David Adedeji Adeleke better known by his stage name, Davido, without doubt is an artiste with a lot of energy especially when it comes to performance coupled with having good songwriters to support him and also the financial resources to push his musical content has been there from the start, however, despite having all of these attributes, Davido lacked the essential key which was his voice.

Davido's voice was a set back for him to the extent that he was unable to perform his songs live without some form of support from DJs playing them underground.

To make matter worse, his perceived arch-rival in the Nigerian music industry, Ayo Balogun is popularly known as Wizkid made a mockery of his voice during their beef back in 2017.

Wizkid in a statement via his Twitter handle described Davido's voice as 'Frog Voice,' a term which actually stuck with him over the years whenever critics of his songs came for him.


However, Davido made huge progress in 2019 starting with the remaking of Risky alongside Poppcan, the song in it original version didn't go viral like when the 27-year-old gave it a touch of life.

The DMW boss went ahead to even shock fans as he released his best album so far dubbed 'A Good Time' and it became one of the albums to receive less criticisms this year.


Aside from working on the tracks of the album, the graphics design of the album cover happens to be the best this year.

To cap it all, Davido had his concert titled 'A Good Time With Davido' on Friday night in Lagos State.

The concert revealed how greatly Davido has transitioned from being the guy with the Frog Voice to performing all his songs with a live band.


Davido's performance was electrifying as his fans sang along with him, among the songs he performed was ‘Dami Duro’ a hit song from his debut album ‘O.B.O’

To be truthful Davido had A Good Time in 2019 and hopefully, he would improve and get better in 2020.

Former Spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress APC, Timi Frank on Thursday visited Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju at a hospital-based in Dubai.

Timi Frank during his visit lamented on the critical state he met the activist as he called for investigation into what led to his injury.

The former spokeperson went ahead to blast the President Muhammadu Buhari led Government for it impunity and warned that they should be held accountable should anything happen to Deji.

Recall that some group of people had arrived at the scene of the protest led by Adeyanju calling for the release of Omoyele Sowore, who had been in DSS custody since August, despite a court ruling that he be set free on bail.

The reports made it known that Adeyanju was beaten mercilessly by the group with many Nigerians reacting to the incident and calling for investigation.

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde is one of the individuals across the world whose birthday fall on Christmas day.

The Governor was born on the 25th of December 1967 and today celebrated his 52nd birthday.

So far in his administration, the Oyo Statw Governor remains the most applauded state Governor in the country due to his style of politics.

The likes of Alh. Atiku Abubakar have reached out to celebrate with him on his day.

According to record, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde is an engineer and a subject matter expert on fluid and gas metering. Until he became the Governor of Oyo State, Makinde was the Group Managing Director of Makon Group Limited; an indigenous oil and gas company in Nigeria.

He established his first oil and gas private business called Makon Engineering and Technical Services, (METS) at the age of 29 in the year 1997, after earning years of work experience with international oil and gas companies.

A few days ago, a video advertisement went viral which showed Nigerian singer, Davido with a young girl advertising a programme to take place at COZA, well the DMW boss in a latest statement has disassociate him self from the video.

Davido said he has nothing to do with the church. He revealed that he did a quick video for a kid who was introduced to him as a fan for personal use but it was edited and use for COZA advert instead.

He, however, stressed that he was disappointed and term the action taken by COZA fraudulent. Davido made it known that he had reached out to those responsible and promised to take things further if the video was not retracted.



Controversial Pastor Abiodun Fatoyinbo of COZA .has also removed the video from his social media handle following the statement released by Davido.


This is another bad record for the Pastor and the church which was faced with rape allegation by Busola Dakolo some months back.

According to the latest report, the President of the United States, Donald John Trump has been impeached by the House of Representatives.

He was impeached on the basis of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

The report disclosed that the House of Representatives voted almost entirely along party lines — 230-197-1 — to charge Trump with abuse of power, then a 229-198-1 vote to charge Trump with obstruction of Congress.

This makes Trump the third American President to be impeached in the history of the country, the other two are Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.

Trump's impeachment comes after a three-month inquiry following allegations that pressured Ukraine to investigate his political opponents by refusing to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House and withholding $400 million in US security aid.


The POTUS in his defense said he did not pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he said he wanted him to combat corruption in the country before giving him the aid.

It is now left with the Republican-controlled Senate to hold a trial on whether Trump should be convicted and removed from office.

Timi Frank distance self from N40bn claim, insists N90bn diverted for 2019 election Challenges FIRS to sue him

A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has distanced himself from the report of PRNigeria claiming that only N40 billion were stolen from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to prosecute 2019 election by the ruling party.

The outspoken activist said his earlier position that about N90 billion were diverted to prosecute the 2019 general election for the government of the day has not changed.

Frank demanded an apology from the authority of the FIRS for saying that he was been used to fabricate lies against the revenue generating agency, adding that he is a man of integrity.

He, however stated that the agency and the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have explanations to make to the world regarding the missing money.

Frank in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, challenged the authority of FIRS to live up to its earlier threat of going to court as soon as possible.

Comrade Frank also accused the FIRS of brain behind the N40 billion claim in the media to divert attention from the original N90 billion claim to make his revelation appears incredible.

The Bayelsa born activist also lambasted the ruling party for describing the stolen money report as hogwash.

Frank said if the APC actually has the interest of the country at heart few elements who were not in the know of how its leadership mismanaged the taxpayers hard earned money ought to have been worried by the revelations.

"I don't know where the report of N40 billion is coming from and I don't actually have connection with the PRNigeria who released the report but it is incumbent on me to state categorically that my position on the stolen N90 billion has not changed.

"I have waited patiently for either of the parties involved in the swindling of Nigeria taxpayers' money to sue me but up till now the shameless elements are still hiding under one finger.

"They threatened but could not live up to their own expectations. A media organisation were force to retract the report thinking it will ends there but so many courageous media houses and the social media ensured that the truth could not be hidden. I salute the courageous ones, even as history will never forget them in a hurry," Frank said.

Reacting to the APC statement describing the report as hogwash, Comrade Frank said the judgement day for the ruling party is just by the conner.

"It is a shame for the leadership of the APC to speak on this matter now having kept quiet since the revelation was made. Understandably the party is the beneficiary, it must do everything possible to divert public attention," he said.

He called on Nigerians, especially the rights groups and courageous individuals to defend Nigeria's democracy by urgently rescue it from the handlers of the current government for the sake of innocent Nigerians.

Today 17th of December 2019 marks the 77th Birthday of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President has been getting goodwill messages from within and outside the country over his birthday, notable of them all is the one from his wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari, who took to her social media handle to celebrate her husband in the early hours of Tuesday.

She wrote, "Happy Birthday to MY incorruptible GMB. I wish you Allah’s Guidance Protection and Good Health to continue steering the affairs of our dear nation . Long Live GMB Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria !"

Going by record, President Muhammadu Buhari was born on December 17th, 1942 in Daura, Katsina State, he studied largely in Katsina, took his military training in Kaduna as well as in Great Britain, India, and the United States.

From August 1st, 1975 to February 3rd, 1976, General Murtala Mohammed, appointed Muhammadu Buhari as Governor of the North-eastern State. He also briefly served as Governor of Borno state from February 3rd, 1976 to March 15th, 1976.

In March 1976, the Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo, appointed Muhammadu Buhari as the Federal Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources. When NNPC was created, he served as its Chairman, a position he held until 1978.

He became the military head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985.

Muhammadu Buhari contested for President of Nigeria for three times (in 2003, 2007 and 2011) before he finally won in 2015.

The former Governor of Oyo State, Isiaka Ajimobi will on Monday 16th of December clock the age of 70.

Ahead of the celebration, President Muhammadu Buhari via his spokesperson on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has sent his goodwill message.

Bashir Ahmad in a statement on Sunday said, ” President Muhammadu Buhari rejoices with former Oyo State Governor, Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, on his 70th birthday tomorrow, joining his family, friends and associates in celebrating the milestone.”

In the same light, the current Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare also celebrated the former Governor as he paid him a visit.

One of Nigeria’s print outfit, Pilot Newspaper during it 10th anniversary on Thursday at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja award the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Prof Yakubu Mahmood.

According to the news outfit, the INEC boss was given the award for successfully organising the 2019 General Elections despite enormous challenge.

The INEC chairman was represent by the National Commissioner Festus Okoye, who received the award on his behalf.

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has bagged a new degree from Modul Dubai University located in the luxurious city of Dubai.

She bagged the certificate after attending Modul’s Networking Event in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution on Wednesday, 11th of November.

Another Nigerian, who is also a close associate to Tonto Dikeh, Godspower Oshodin also bagged a certificate as well.

The Federal Airport Authorities of Nigeria FAAN in a new statement have denied the allegation made against the body that it has place a ban on the usage of Uber, Bolts and others at the Muritala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State.

This comes after a sign post was spotted at the airport reading that Uber, Bolt and others were no longer allowed at the Lagos Airport.

FAAN in a statement stressed that passengers are free to use whatever means and mode of transportation convenient in Lagos and other airports across the country.

The body also revealed that it has other security personnel to the sign post and as well investigate the issue.

Nigerian popular politician from Kogi west, Dino Melaye was at the premiere of new cinema movie, Lemonade on Wednesday at Transcorp Abuja.

Melaye during his statement with the Press declared that he was born a politician and an actor as he called on Government to invest in the entertainment industry.

The former law maker featured in the new movie Lemonade as a distinguished Senator.

Lemonade is a movie produced by Joy Idoko and featured the likes of Dino Melaye, Kunle Remi, Joy Idoko, Ayoola Ayobami, Linda Osifo, Mofe Duncan, Real Warri Pikin, Chioma Idigo, Sean King, among others.

Nigerian artist, Peter Okoye better known as Mr P in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday reacted to a statement by a fan who compared him to his brother Paul Okoye ‘Rude Boy.’

The fan in his tweet to Mr P to go back to his twin brother to learn how to make quality music.

He wrote, ” To be frank bro..u are not minding ur business..u are obviously competing with ur brother..u need to go back to him, learn how to make quality/ good music…not all these yeyeye shits u v been releasing since u guys separated… #mrp #nepa”

However, Peter in his response to the tweet called the fan broke as he advised him to face his hustle.

Peter wrote, ‘Broke people thinking they have opinion, hustle make you no go dey advice dangote how to do business. chai!’

Peter and Paul Okoye are twin brother who were part of the now defunct Psquare music group along side their brother Jude Okoye but following some family related issues the duo went their separate ways in 2016, which came as a surprise to many of their fans.

Nollywood sensation and humanitarian, Tonto Dikeh in conjunction with Godspower Oshodin Global Foundation appears to have some pleasant surprises off their sleeves, especially for the coming year, 2020, gradually surfacing in the horizon.

The actress who is also the president of The Tonto Dikeh Foundation, has inked what appears like a huge deal that would be beneficial to thousands of Nigerian children with regards to providing them with quality education, ngg.ng can confirm.

In a series of Instagram photos, shared by King Tonto Dikeh on Wednesday, December 11, the actress gave pointers to the possible partnership, although, full details are still sketchy, she wrote:

“The right steps in the right direction would be taken when we focus on educating every child.
So we commenced the #AdoptASchoolProject2020 by signing up with Volunteers from North Africa. Let’s set a pace for the next generation.”
