LANDING GIST
My ticket was booked for 29th August
Got to the airport with my family at about 7:09am. The security at the entrance allowed only three people to enter with us. My husband sha went back outside later to bring my mum and mum-in- law in.
Our bags were scanned at the entrance and we were directed to some people by the side of the scanner. Those ones were like ehnn we have liquid in our bags and plenty story started..( money things). We proceeded to Agricultural bla bla stand( those ones collected 5k) I don't know who would travel without food in their bags.
From there we joined the queue and we're waiting for Ethiopian airlines to open their stand for checking. That took almost 45 mins. All our bags were below 23kg ( my husband closely monitored the packing). He didn't want to pay extra for excess luggage so we weighed less than 23kg from home believing the scale at the airport would not give correct weight( naija things)..well we were surprised cos our luggages no reach 23kg..e pain me sha cos I left some personal items back home. After clearing our bags and showing necessary docs, we took pics with our parents and left for departure ( it was an emotional moment). After that na immigration checking our traveling docs and asking questions. You go come back? Who dey go for study? Who carry who dey go?
We sha boarded around 12:30 pm and took off around 1:30pm. Flight to Addis Ababa was smooth, my son slept most of the time and food was okay.
We got to Addis Ababa in the night( not sure about the time) and joined another Ethiopian airline flight going to Toronto.
We had a 1hr refueling layover in Dublin but didn't disembark. Then we took off for Toronto. The journey from Addis to Toronto seem like forever. It was longgg and tiring. When we got to Toronto, students with family were directed to a separate room where we did self declaration and also registered the identify of those accompanying us. We then proceeded to the desk of the immigration officer. Mine was a woman and she asked for our passport, introduction letter and a receipt of tuition payment. I didn't make any payment because my school didn't require a deposit and I told her just that. She literally looked me in the face and said' I find it difficult granting you access if you can't show any commitments to your school'. I quickly explained the challenges of paying with Form A to her o and told her I had cash with me to do the payment. She asked me how much I had and how much my tuition for a year is. I gave answers to both questions and she said 'fair enough' then she stood up and printed our permits. From there we went to get our bags because Ethiopian airlines dropped them all at Toronto airport. We had to start searching for our bags and trolley to carry them. We checked them( bags)in again for our flight to St John's. At this point, I was just tired and couldn't wait for the trip to be over. We landed in St John's airport around 4pm on 30th August. The stress and journey was all worth it. I also noticed that everything here is a process and in stages. If you have a guide here, be thankful to God.
For those who would be traveling with toddler(s)..may God give you plenty doses of patience. My son showed me pepper. At some point he wanted to carry equal bags as myself and my husband , other times he would just refuse to move his tiny legs, and we had like 5 bags with us( 3 carry ons and two extra) we would beg him in English and threaten him in Yoruba. The boy no send us o. This same human would be calm in the plane o and keep other people engaged and entertained.
I Pray the Land of Canada favour us all. To all PPR hopefuls, the Lord will answer all your heartfelt prayers and you shall testify.

[quote author=gaeul post=115237288]Please can someone shed more light on Use of Representative form (IMM5476) cos I plan applying for my spouse and kids on same GCKey account

Secondly how do one explain or justify lump sum from sales of Land. Which documents should one submit?

Thanks thanks
So I submitted a Family application too. The Use of representative form simply means that whomever you have included in your application has given you the authority to stand as their representative before IRCC. IRCC will contact you whenever there is a message as regards their application and you also have the right to send any doc regarding their application to IRCC.

As regards lump sum from Land sale, I think you should just explain it in your SOP and that the certain amount is your own share from it( if it's a family land) and that you purposely set it aside for your studies.
If you have the evidence of payment ( like cheque or your bank statement showing the narration of the payment..I believe that should suffice.
All the best.

Good morning Fam. Please I need more insight on submitting our passports for stamping.
1. The consent form I am to include in the envelope, how many would it be since I'm submitting three passports( myself, spouse and son(2years+).
2. Please avail me the link on where to download the consent form.
3. The plain sheet for name, address e.t.c, would it be just my name( being the principal applicant) or for three of us.
4. We had our biometrics in Lagos and intend sending the passports back there. Do we need to pay for transmission fee(for three people)

Also, do I necessarily have to get a two way ticket for my son( he has a visiting visa).

I am really grateful to God for His graciousness over me and my family because this can only be God. The journey to travel to Canada started with my hubby in 2020/2021 but he couldn't secure an admission. He also tried a UK sch but nothing positive. We both decided to switch the applicant and apply to Canada again and several UK schs. I became the Principal applicant for Canada and we both did several UK schs. I was given admission less than 2 weeks after I submitted my application and we both had 7 admissions all together from UK schs. We decided to stick with Canada as travelling to UK now is not beans. It was really a tough decision for us when we wanted to apply for Visa. We read of how it was best for one person to go first before others joining but the thought of leaving my husband and son behind scared me oo so we decided to put our faith in God and submit as a family. We praise the name of the Lord because it has ended in praise.

I'd like to say a big thank you to all our support system in this application for admission and Visa journey. God bless you all and to Nairaland family..you guys ehnn you too much. God bless you all including our gurus( Frank, Anon and several others. Your selfless service will never go unrewarded by the Almighty.
And to all PPR hopefuls you are next in Jesus name. Amen

Sorry for the long post, I just had to be explicit enough for others who want to apply as a family.

Please how do I link my upfront medicals to IRCC. I got a medical request even after my upfront medical has been sent to IRCC several times by IOM Lagos . My profile still reads “action is required”.

Send your e-medical sheet to IRCC via webform. Send as many times as possible. You can also send mail messages to Nairobi. Use the search engine on this platform to get the email addresses.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Oluwanishore(f): 2:42pm On Jul 03, 2022
Please how did you know your medical results has been transmitted from Qlife to IRCC. Did you communicate with them(Qlife) via mail?

See what the Lord has done!!!!!!

I just logged onto to my portal, just to check as usual and there's an update - Medical Passed. This is a huge miracle for me because of an underlying health condition, but God has proved Himself again. I was super worried because I had to do additional medical tests and the medical report I submitted was quite disturbing to me, as this was a requirement for QLife to uphold my report. I can't wait to update this post with PPR requests for myself and my daughter.

Timeline
Application Submitted: May 14th
Upfront Medical: May 14th
Biometrics Done: May 23rd
Biometric Update: May 24th
Medical Report Submitted, and the result transmitted from QLife to IRCC: June 8th (It took UCH almost a month to issue me a medical report even with active follow-up.
Submitted Webform: June 21st - uploaded the E-medical forms because I saw a lot of comments that upfront medical form should be sent via webform and only got an automated response. I only provided the numbers when I submitted my application on May 14th. I have been super scared but kept confessing positive things concerning this journey, especially since i'm for Fall 2022 and any request for addition medical tests would be tough with how the spaces keep getting filled up.
Medical Passed: July 2nd

I logged up to my portal now, and that Medical Passed can only be God. My daughter's medicals is yet to be updated but not worried because she's got a clean bill of health. The last email i got from IRCC was on May 14th for Biometrics so I always check into my portal every other day. My faith is strengthened that our PPRs are dropping soon.

Thank you so much.

Can I delete the application and start all over on the GCKey old portal?

If you haven't submitted your own application you can start afresh on the Gckey portal so that you can include your hubby in your application. However, if you have submitted your application you may have to withdraw it depending on how long you have since submitted it.

Let the gurus advice you further on what next to do if you have submitted your application on the new portal.

[quote author=hugapex post=113995624]Guys please I need help with family application.
Who has applied recently on the new portal?
I want to apply for a VV for my spouse and not SOWP.

To apply for my spouse, I added a new application by clicking the plus sign on the application main page.
Please, Is that the right way?

To my surprise, there's no option of I want to accompany my spouse.
The one closer to my answer is I want to visit my spouse who is an international student. Pls is this right too?

Then, it goes on to ask for the address of the spouse who is an international student. I am also just applying and I have no address in Canada yet. Should I just use my Institution address?

Lastly, where it asks for national Identity, document number, and date of issue, can I use voters card or international passport instead of NIN because the NIN does not have a date of issue.

Thank you in advance for your help.

The New portal cannot allow you do that. You would have to use the old portal( Gckey) for your family application.

I submitted a family application (myself, spouse and son) and we did upfront medicals after submission and have since uploaded our e-medical sheets via webform n emails. However, this morning I received a mail requiring my spouse and son to do a medical examination while my own status says medical exams received and being processed. I have immediately resent their(spouse and son) medical sheets via webform again and sent via mail as well to Nairobi and I copied London, Lagos and abuja. Please am I on the right track or is there something else I need to do asides all that?. Bikko help me out. Thanks in advance.

[quote author=Spicy12345 post=113703150]Its PPR guys. Long Post alert

I have been a silent reader of Nairaland since the beginning of this year and everything that led to this point (obtaining our PPR), Nairaland contributed to it.
We started this journey in 2021. I started off with some countries which eventually did not work out. My husband had applied to a couple of schools and we either received rejections or no responses at all. Fast forward to January, my sister was leaving for Canada at the time and came visiting so I requested that she helped apply to a school. We followed up and received admission to Centennial College for a Postgraduate Certificate program in Cybersecurity. It is also worthy to note that we applied to several schools in the UK, I think about 6 or 7 of them and got admission to all.
Amidst all these, my husband insisted on Canada.
We applied for my husband's Study visa, my Spousal Open Work Permit and a Visiting Visa for my 19 months daughter on the 1st of April, 2022. This happened when everywhere I turned to for assistance on how to proceed with these applications kept giving warning signs for my husband to apply alone. My husband insisted that we all apply together and back it up with prayers and I agreed.
We gathered all our documents and applied with faith and the wait started. Sometimes, I would wake up in the middle of the night and say my prayers sometimes with tears. Sometimes, I and my husband would find it difficult to sleep at night. I would disturb my sister from time to time even during her busy schedule just to find out if there was anything to do to hasten the process. I am not a very patient person but my husband who has more patience among the both of us started to worry too on the 1st of June. We kept praying and hoping that God comes through.
I felt our application could be better but believed God will use the documents we had submitted to speak for us. We noticed that his passport was due to expire in October and then we decided to apply for that as quickly as possible.
On the 5th of June, my husband came back home worried which increased my worry as well but we kept telling each other that our application was more complex so it may take them a while to get to it.
On the 7th of June at around 7:30am, my husband called my attention and, in his words, "it is already happening o"
I ran to his phone and saw 3 emails with "do not reply", my heart skipped several beats and I remember saying to him, if we were rejected, we fire again.
I went straight for the laptop but was not fast enough as I kept shaking. My husband grabbed it and signed in.
At this point, I hissed and said aloud "Eligibility just started and its a ghost update", then he said hold on let me scroll down and there it was Original Passport Request. I screamed my lungs out.
Our timeline:
GCKey 1st time applicant
Application: 1st of April, 2022
Upfront medicals: 26t of March and updated to pass on the 21st of April, 2022
Biometrics: 14th of April, 2022
PPR for Study, SOWP, and VV on the 8th of June.

I would say it has been God and I am putting this out there to encourage people most especially families who are too afraid to apply together. Do it, research, make your application as tight as possible, and back it up with prayers. I reached out to only one person on this thread who happened to be going to the same school as my husband, @centennialguy, thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
I wish everyone the best and to all PPR hopefuls, your time is now.

It will end in praise

Congratulations to you and your family.
I key into your testimony that my family application shall also be granted approval this month as well. Amen. Congrats once again.

She has received letter to go do her biometrics but they haven't sent me to do one which is delaying her from doing hers since we paid for family of 2 biometrics and neither have I been issued a UCI number. Is anyone here familiar with this and how do you think we can go about it?

Every advice will be appreciated.

I also applied alongside my family and my husband's UCI and biometric instruction letter came 24 hours after mine. You can tell your wife to sign-in to her portal and check if there's a new message for you. All the best

Hello everyone, please I need the help of the gurus @ frankrobnn1 and others on this forum to kindly explain something to me.
I am planning to submit my application for my study permit alongside my family( spouse( open work permit) and son( visitor visa). After filling the questionnaire, two IMM 5645 forms were generated under the doc checklist. One for me and the other for my spouse. Filling my own form is straight forward but I am confused on how to go about the one for my spouse. Should I replicate the info on my own 5645 form in his? Or choose him as the applicant and myself as the spouse with his parents and siblings info on his own form. Please help to shed more light on this as I do not want to make a mistake.
