iotstudent:
pls I have being trying to design a simple traffic light circuit the problem is that the lecturer insisted that a transistor must be in the circuit pos can anyone help
are you using a microcontroller? if yes, just represent the state of each led with a transistor and connect the led to the transistor's nodes.
i hope u get the gist

BTW, i'm not an elect major, just basic electronics back in school.
ProgrammingRe: Need Help With These: $_SERVER["PHP_AUTH_USER"] And $_SERVER["PHP_AUTH_PW"] by Olyboy16(m): 8:08pm On Mar 19, 2017
paranorman:
xampp 7.0.1 is what I use for executing my PHP scripts.

the $_SERVER[] superglobal appears not to have these indexes when I print_r() it.

What am I missing? do I have to modify something in the config files?
it doesnt work like that sir.
i cant type much code here on mobile, but i'll give you some pseudocode to follow.

when you send these headers to the browser.

header('WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="some info text"');
header('HTTP/1.0 401 Uauthorized');

The browser prompts for a auth key.

then on submission to the server, you can check those $SERVER indexes.

ProgrammingRe: PHP Browserbox 5.0 Is Out With Its Own Website by Olyboy16(m): 9:53pm On Mar 18, 2017
dhtml18:
In case you have never heard of it, well, phpbrowserbox is a portable L.A.M.P server with its own in-built web browser (NODE WEBKIT tech) allowing you to package your apps to resemble windows application with the power of Apache, Mysql, PHP, HTML5, Node.JS etc

It has been getting a lot of attention and downloads also, so i finally decided to create a website for it here http://www.phpbrowserbox.com/

Previous threads talking about it are:
https://www.nairaland.com/3200203/phpbrowserbox-4.0-out-portable-webkit
https://www.nairaland.com/2860940/phpbrowserbox-update-google-chrome-php

I know this will never get to FP since it does not contain *$^#%#$, snakes etc
one thing i like about dhtml is, he definitely knows how to turn simple things to very useful entities. with the right ideas, phpbrowser could be a big thing for geeky web developers.
ProgrammingRe: NGR, Nigeria First Made Programming Language by Olyboy16(m): 7:03pm On Aug 21, 2016
Stconvict:
Since Pluto (the name of my language) is still in development stage, I don't see any reason why I can't borrow useful concepts from modern languages. Julia's multiple dispatch for example, while not new, opens a whole new way of solving problems. And for me, it made some rigid Pluto's structure easier to implement.
Designing a language is definitely not easy. I knew that like a month after starting the project. cry
But I'm doing this for fun more than anything else. grin
Especially when I found out that the goals I had for Pluto were what Julia aims to be.
So maybe Pluto is not anymore unique than Julia, but it is worth the shot. If not for showcasing, then for learning.
Pluto is a representation of how I'd like to write my programs.
hi bro, seems you are competent and know what you are doing. so i wanted to ask if we could discuss on whatsapp about ur project. what i really wana know for now is, is pluto interpreted or compiled? and is it general purpose or specific?

smiley smileywow just the kind of guy am looking to meet i just want to be a part of a team that is ready to take on the world, guys with mad skills and crazy ambitions not guys that make a million dollars and start feeling like demigods, you know, i noticed one thing with american tech market, everybody knows everybody they have a united market and this goes beyond tech in fact their entire market is like that and it seems china discovered this and moved rapidly, now even america is afraid of them. the dream is to penetrate the global market, crazy right? that is why its not a one man's mission, i want us to create a tech company, that would branch out to other filed,a company that would unit the African market. we can start from the smallest things i already have some strategies and ideas on how to go about this but like i said, its not a one man's mission, what do you think
i'm a matyr of innovation, and logically, i believe nobody should ever develop anything that doesnt solve a problem nor add value to the human life. with that in view, a lot of nigerian coders are business people, and very good ones at that. infact diving into programming for the average nigerian/african is a means of surviving not exploring nor changing the world.
you cant blame them you know, i salute most of these guys...even under the poorest programming environments- no light, no water, no money, theives everywhere. our geeks still manage to make a living out of the little codes they can write. give an average nigerian programmer UK conditions, he will create the next big thing!
so what am i driving at...everyone is creative, but not everyone has the resources. please clear that notion on your mind sire. bad conditions sometimes boils out creativity from pple and makes them just go with watever brings in the money.

away from that.... we part are the few opportuned, it means we cant just create things because we wana be different, we should think and create things because the whole millions of the rest depends on us.
so if you say we should create a tech company, I'm in love with the idea...cool. but i suggest we start with a product, or a suite of products and keep things REALISTIC. I'm a reseaecher, my ideas are usually on a scientific and engineering level. hopefully with you and many others to come we can develop real world ideas.

so to answer your question, it think you have an amazing idea that i would love to be a part of anytime.

okay so you've succedded in getting me interested....
well i happen to be a hardcore programmer who has a big passion for new coding grounds, scientific research coding, use of multiple languages, and working in areas and depths of software development where most programmers have no clue what happens, and many more.

lets talk!
ProgrammingRe: Genius In The House, Where Are U? by Olyboy16(m): 2:03pm On Jul 23, 2016
yes, you are in the wrong section. but that can be ignored sinc a mod will soon move the topic to the appropriate section.
to your question,

mathematically,
you want n1.y = n2.x = z,
where n_ > 1, and z < 100, x, y= 15, 25 rules

so we need to find a balance point for n_,
we use n1 = 5, n2 = 3

75 = 75 => z.

equation satisfied!!

FincoApps:
dhtml, I've not used NodeJs for any client before so I'm breaking the rule but I need to mention something.... To the guys saying you cannot compare this to that, it's just a simple comparison so calm it down:

Ask a PHP developer, what language does he use for his server side, the answer would be "PHP"
Ask a Node developer the same question and he's likely to say "NodeJS" and not Javascript...

Now the simple question is which do you prefer..... so guys stop making this seem like an exam cause I saww the question and immediately understood what the OP meant
i code in both the php language and the nodejs framework, so i know what i am saying bro. asking me to choose between a framework which i love to use, and a complete server side programming language which is my playground is impossible!

can i ask you to choose between angularjs and jquery?
or between php PDO and MySQL?

how would choose from the couple...they both address different issues and most times HAVE TO WORK HAND IN HAND, which applies to the nodejs and php context.
if you get some more insight into how nodejs works u will understand my argument.

fretfingers:
Yw bro.

Oh okay if he did, perhaps he should make some clarifications on d alt's.

However from what I understand from his post, he suggested u code the algorithm from scratch.

"y not design an applet, that reads the fingerprint details and send it once a successful capture is done" - lordrahl

If u can successfully code an algorithm to extract Minutiae from a fingerprint image during scanning and you need not to deploy ur project anytime soon (cuz coding d algorithm will take a lot of time) then...
lol. thanks for the clarification bro. thats not even an option worth considering.
ProgrammingRe: Integrating Fingerprint Scanner In Web Application by Olyboy16(m): 8:15pm On Jul 19, 2016
fretfingers:
If you need to interface, then check the device manual for its API.

Btw::: are you planning on coding the fingerprint algorithm from scratch(what language?). Else, I suggest you use a fingerprint SDK that supports the scanner u plan to use.

Modified:: If you need a free trial fingerprint SDK to implement for somtime, I suggest you try 'Griaule'--- they've got great SDK for all types of biometric with support for lotsa scanners. Moreover, I don't think u can get a free SDK if ur app is to function long term.
thanks a lot sire, i know i av to use a sdk and i know sdk isnt usually free, but lordrahl made mention of alternatives to a paid sdk option using java dats where all this drama started. thanks for the info jawe
ProgrammingRe: Which is more awesome to use for 'server-side programming', NodeJS or PHP? by Olyboy16(m): 7:23am On Jul 19, 2016
why would you compare a fully fledged highly extensible, and mature server side scripting language to a language bootstrapped just because we think it much more convinient for async IO and flexible async processes?
nodejs wasnt designed to be in league with php, it was designed to close the gap php created by adding real time update functionality to communication between server and client.
nodejs is great, nice and engaging, but its still immature and doesnt scale up php nor solve problem php was designed to address.
php is amazing but doesnt solve problems addresses by nodejs

I u have tried it with Java, y not design an applet, that reads the fingerprint details and send it once a successful capture is done. But u shud make ur registration in stages so that u have a primary key already!! My 2 cents
your lordship sir, if you have done this in java, pls just give any info on how to work this out. even if its just a technical summary.

AntiWailer:
You can use FlexCodeSdk but it is not free.

Alternatively, do an extensive research on how you can use JQuery Library with the original SDK that came with the device.
i have this issue too, and i am definitely not gonna drop $35 for license without a fight. so i need all alternatives. i am very good with jquery u mentioned so, have u by any chance worked on this with javascript b4?i will extremely appreciate info on this. and i'm sure the Op will thank you too.
