Ezewuzie01: You have abandoned Chidoka so soon and now courting Obaze. I pray PDP gives Obaze a second chance to redeem himself in 2021. It will be fun whopping his old, frustrated ass again. If Peter Obi thinks he has been shunned by Obiano, he should wait until Soludo becomes governor. He hasn't seen anything yet. I am a true Anambra boy who puts the interest of the state ahead of personal gain. You on the other hand is a certified OTIMKPU! To the main point, Anambra is blessed with arrays of distinguished and qualified individuals who can turn the place to paradise and Oseloka Obaze, Osita Chidoka, Kingsley Muoghalu, Charles Soludo and Mark Okoye are just few of them. It does not really matter who becomes the governor ,the common denominator here is the betterment of the state. Anambra bu ofu. Odolu gi anya ? |

gidgiddy: APGA cannot afford to lose the only state they control to defection. It could spell the end of APGA. They should give their ticket to someone who has proved his loyalty to the party. Thats the mistake APGA made in Imo state by giving Rochas Okorocha, a known serial defector who had been in PDP, ANPP and AA, its ticket. His first term hadn't finished before he jumped to APC. If APGA had given someone else their ticket they might have been controlling Imo and some other states by now. That's why I think that giving Soludo the ticket in 2020 is a dangerous mistake. Soludo was a staunch member of PDP who only joined APGA after losing out in PDP. He will eventually find his way back to PDP Soludo, though his loyalty is questionable but he has been with APGA for a very long ,even before Willy the drunk was dragged by Obi from U.S to come run. Peter Obi denied Soludo the slot because there was an ongoing investigation on Soludo at the EFCC. Soludo hated Obi for that but little did he know that if it wasn't for the fact that Oseloka Obaze was disqualified because he wasn't registered to vote Obiano wouldn't have become a governor...Obaze is the brain behind Obi's success and much more qualified than the rest of the candidates. |

Osagyefo98: Soludo remains a no no.
If Apga mistakenly gives her ticket to Soludo then apga should forget it..
Soludo is a bad market.
Also saying Ozunkpu whether na ozomkpa is backing Soludo is another recipe for disaster. Anybody Victor oye backs, is doomed to fail.
It was Victor oye that rubbished apga in Imo state in the name of backing Ararume against people's choice.
Soludo should go and rest. He is a bad market please. And you think Akpokuodike has done enough to strengthen the structure handed to him ? Where was Akpokuodike when Victor Oye was tearing APGA up in Imo state ? Let's be honest , Obiano is a bad politician if not why did APGA lost all Senatorial seat. I thought Obi was a bad politician but Obiano is even worse. |

safarigirl: So, you are advising people to learn trade that they will be crap in?
When you people advise people to learn trade, let it be something that can be monetized. Today, in Nigeria, the only skills that can be monetized are photography, make-up artistry, tailoring, baking and catering....I mean, the ones you can make serious money from, every other thing na scam.
Now, the issue is not learning the skill, it is getting a market. Do you know how many bakers are doing 3-9k jobs? Some are not even getting clients, because just like EVERY OTHER skill in Nigeria, the early birds have eaten the fattest bone and everyone else, is left with crumbs.
In photography, George Okoro is the biggest name. Then, you have Klala, BMB and some other photographers here and there. These people are mostly based in Lagos and Abuja. Now, a photographer in Ondo or Imo will not be making as much money as these people.
In make-up, it is Jide of St. Ola and Bibyonce that are major, and it is still another industry dominatef by Lagos and Abuja artists.
In fact ehn, your location determines your success rate as much as anything. If you are providing any service, make sure your base allows for the right clientele.
The market is saturated, the big money people will only pay the top guys and for the most part, they import these guys if they have to. There are photographers, and make-up artistes in Abuja, that are flown to Abia, Plateau, Ibadan, for jobs. What becomes of the ones that reside in these states? There is no job anywhere, even in the skill industry. Everywhere is saturated, at most, you will be an average earner, but expecting to be E-Money standard because you set up a business, that anyone can set up, is rather idealistic.
PS: There are great carpenters in Nigeria, you just happened to meet the wrong one, and you probably failed to do your proper research, hence, the unfortunate circumstance you found yourself. That's exactly what I meant when I said that craftsmanship is badly regulated in Nigeria. The government has a very big role to play by making sure people are well trained and only those with license can practice. And, also ensure there are jobs for these people when they finish their training by creating job opportunities. For instance, when you design an estate you specify the type of wood work to be done and only licensed carpenters can work on these projects. These carpenters, in the same vein must have a strong union to fight for them. If you put the right mechanism in place youths will find these skills attractive. Nigerian leaders are ffucking blind. |

rabzy: I agree that our craftsmen are crap, but we dont even have the purchasing power to pay decent craftsmen. The Ghanaian craftsmen are wonderful but they are still scraping a living. You need a buoyant middle class that can pay the craftsmen for the job. Even in the US, most people are very handy, they do a lot of craft work around the house themselves because getting someone to do it is very expensive. We need big businesses that would employ people. We have people who can pay you handsomely for a quality work if you are willing to put in the work and produce a quality product. I will double the price if I see a Nigerian youth who made a quality work, and its not because I am rich but because I know what it takes to do craft..my father was a craftsman and even my wife learned hair braiding before she arrived in the U.S and the chic was counting in thousands of dollars before she started school and the rest. I personally know many Nigerians wbo had to import furnitures from the U.S because they don't trust Nigerian craftsmen. The quality of their work is suspect because they were not professionally trained. If I must buy Aba shoes then it must be pure leather. But, of course we cant have a leather market because we eat them with our mouth. In the U.S you can only do so much work around the house...wait until you have a serious electrical or plumbing problems. Plumbers make average of 50,000 a year for a green horn. We have too many useless graduates in Nigeria because our youths look down on trade. |

tbaba12345: Even Barbers get trained. You can not practice without training I pay 15 to 20 dollars to cut hair unless if you want the Chinese to screw your hair up. And,an average barber live very comfortably and work when they feel like...and if you walk in there to price it like pepper at Orile market they will ask you to leave. They are balling and living big. |

rabzy: All the hairdressers, shoe makers, carpenters, welders, mechanics, barbers, food sellers, tailors, vuicanizers that are in every nook and crannies are self employed. Many of the okada guys in Lagos learnt a trade at a time. We need people who can establish big businesses and employ the populace. These gainfully employed masses are what makes up the middle class of an economy. All the top economies of the world are not dominated by one-man businesses all over the place. Its like subsistence farming to mechanized farming in agriculture. The trade you listed are not well regulated in Nigeria. In the U.S you need at least 2 years of in class and hands on training to become a mechanic, carpenter etc and after that you earn a decent pay more than some engineers. Nigerian carpenters are crap...I know because I saw a chair I paid over 500,000 naira to build and it looked like trash. Go to Ghana and see their skilled trades men...blow your ffucking mind. |

charlesemeka85: Leave them mk dem dey deceive themselves lolz There was a relative of mine I advised to learn a trade after she failed waec like 3 time but she insisted until the fifth time, thats when she finally decided to learn the trade after she realized none of her graduate friend had a danm job. There is something fundamentally wrong with the reasoning of the Nigerian youth and I think it's connected to the mentality of "we have oil" or "Nigeria is a rich country", whereas the country is as poor as church rat. Meanwhile, the elite are living like kings using the little oil revenue to enrich themselves....its a sad situation. The country is living above it means...a Senator shouldn't earn more than 300,000 naira in a country like Nigeria because we cant afford all these billions dolled out to them monthly. American senators make very little salaries because they all have a day job. |

Koboko99: Some people think you just learn a skill, set up your own business and boom....money starts flowing in. Learning is skill isn't free these days, even if you get to learn one, do you know how many people have the same skill? It boils down to what makes you stand out, perseverance, proper planning etc, so it's not easy. Many people that have their own businesses and companies today started somewhere, horned their skills, got capital from working elsewhere before setting up. So please it's not rosy anywhere....choose wisely You have a better chance of getting a job if you learn a trade than you would with your crappy Nigerian degree. Truth is Nigeria youths do not want to learn a skill...evey gaddem person want to have a degree just so they can say I am a graduate. The Nigerian youth dont want to learn some professional trade and fix their lives but they all want to ffuck Danielle Okereke who drives G Wagon...lol. How can you count ten when you haven't counted one. But, the reality is that Nigeria doesn't have the job opportunities to service their millions of youths who are graduate and those still in school. For every hundred thousand Nigerian graduate just about 10% are going to be employed. The situation of the country is seriously troubling and I fear something bad might happen before things get better. |

Ok, Anambra has done well in education but I want an improvement on the success made ,so far. I want to see better statistics like 80% of our school children passing waec at first try with over 75% in all subjects. More training of teachers , better parents-teachers association to make sure the children are well taken care of and ready to learn, improved learning materials...additionally, even better funding for school in rural areas. We need to move up because we are beginning to get stagnant. |
