The bricklayers in my region seem to have a unionised pricing, for fence they uses partitioning (one pillar to another ₦2k), whether it's dwarf or complete height they charges the same amount, even if you want the pillars alone done, I still don't get the rational behind that calculation, more or less a blackmailing price scheme.

I decided to plaster the whole front side of the fence, it's way cheaper in labour than plastering only mounting sides.

When you buy a tyre for instance this year, and you find 2023 written on it, that's the production date bah?? New tyre oh, brand new tear rubber not Belgium tyres.

I can't save you from your ignorance though, but I am very conversant with the DOT (American) and EU conventional tyre codes which are mostly used internationally and legal technicalities, you are interpreting the codes wrongly.

They will show you production date,......they forgot production date is a date of beginning of existence of a product, manufacturers out of safety reason recommend to change the tyres subjected to USE/ IN USE after 10years, not a new tyre stored safely that has not be in service, it a conventional practice to test every tyre whether new or long manufactured to test, because a tyre is 10 year does not mean it has lost its quality and elasticity. Same goes for medicine, it hasn't lost it abilities to combat the desease it's made to do.
But hey, it's difficult the get a novice to understand the technology and technicalities.

Na English dey worry u. Every item manufactured deteriorates with time, that's why there's definite time for which it's allowed to be used or consumed. For tyres in Nigeria, it's four years from the month of manufacturing

There are big difference in regulatory recommendations between consumable and non consumable items..... manufacturing dates are standard for record purposes, a tyre in the warehouse manufactured 10 years ago that have not been subjected to load and torques still retain 98% of its properties and good enough for usage. I have experience qualities and regulations in Nigeria and outside Nigeria, profile dept, wear and tear/deterioration are indices used to recommend changes.
New vehicles oil changes is for the first 24 months or 30000km or which come first, there after once every year, but a Nigerian mechanic will say every 3 months lol.

We used the high quality hardwood we have around locally, it's called Danta locally and is very hard. Theres no need to treat Danta because experience has shown it never suffers termites attacks. We treat them only if the clients insist.

I have heard about Danta roofing wood and doesn't require treatment, there is one we called Agbadudu (can't remember the English name) which they term is second to Danta, Blackwood are attack resistant I also heard but not really sure.
Yellow (fungi carrier) and Rough woods should be treated I was told, from experience which roofing woods would you classified in order of quality, durability, sustainability, and treatment recommendation?

Yes I did, it took me almost 2 years to plaster and paint that village fence becauseI was waiting for funds.

The best practice is to build the fence, mount the gate and plaster the fence, mount fence rail and then dress neatly, then paint.

But sometimes, things dont go entirely as planned.

Exactly, in my case I want to mount fence rail and the gate to secure the premises while finishing work goes on with the building, fence plastering and finishing in a later stage.

It’s not a good practice to install railings before plastering.
If you installed railing you will not be able to plaster/ perfect any shape/ angle on such area.
Same applicable to window burglar bars

Best is to plaster the installation/hang up areas before installation? I want to secure the premises to avoid unnecessary and easy trespass into the site by installing the fence rails and gate.

Nigeria embassy making traveling difficult for her citizens

I have heard stories but how come Nigeria Embassy in Brussels is so different? Never encountered any difficult or irregularities there, the staff are really down to earth, insightful and very helpful. the size of the pipe doesn't make much difference. The quality however makes all the difference. A 2mm 1½" pipe will last longer than 3" 1mm pipe

Agreed, the greater the quantity of material content the greater chance of durability, resistance to wear and tear. This is where wrought iron (low carbon) and galvanised steel (zinc coated) actually stand out above other for outdoor use. But with a good antirust paint layer protection a steel pipe could go a long way.

local rods are 18ft long and goes for less 4,000. While foreign rods are 9ft long and goes for about 4,500

Thanks for the professional advice, your weather point struck a chord considering salt available in our water en humidity, a thicker 1½" pipe will be the best target for corrosion and welding heat in my opinion.

this thing will be under the weather. It's best to use 14mm foreign wrought iron rod or 16mm local wrought iron rod.

outer frame is the 40 by 40 aka 1½" pipe. The ornamentals, yes they do come in different shapes and sizes plus materials. Cheapest is steel and the most expensive wrought iron

Alright, thanks for clarifying, then the vertical members should be 14mm/16mm square pipe because the object is square/angular in shape.

As for the ornamental stuff, it's sold separately which is very expensive or a blacksmith can cast aluminum version on the said rod

Ornament collar comes in different shapes and in different materials like aluminium, cast iron, hard and mild steel etc which I think can be obtainable in local metal shops, see pictures bellow.
They can be fitted or welded between rods or pipes.
