I started watching Nigerian movies about a year ago and I love them so much that I just want to become part of the action but I don't know how.I've spent hours searching online as to who/how I can contact to market my script/ideas but there's such a lack of information.I even asked the few Nigerians I know when I visited home(Botswana) a few months back but everyone seems clueless.I strongly believe that as a young person who's got a diverse experience of cultures/languages I can make a significant contribution in terms of bringing another dimension to the storylines.I would really appreciate any information as to how I can try my luck.Well we have different Dreams, I would love to be a writer of a movie but not in an industry that you might get demonised for showing half a nipple, |
are you talking about yoruba actresses world wide |
Jay,EM,Pac are actually the only three rappers that have done over 50mil worldwide so i don't know where u got your bad data from. Go do more research Google and Wiki are your friendsJay Z has not sold 50 million records go to forbes.com and read about Jay Z "50m my backside" Now when you look at Kanye West last 4 album has out sold Jay Z 4 albums 50 Cents last 6 out sold Jay Z last six album I know its all ifs and buts, but Bigger alive, Jay Z would be a full time designer for his ROC-A-WEAR |
Peeps are saying since Jigga came out since 96 he shoulda sold more and then i ask how many rappers that have been out since then are still relevant now? 11 multiplatinum selling albums na beans? Even Rockstars would kill for that C.V not to talk of rappersA rockstar would twice as much as Jay Z has sold in his entire career |
I will not be suprised if a Yoruba film won Nigeria her first Oscar awardHa!!! how many foreign films have you seen? a scottish or Irish film that was about a Nigerian boy was up for an Oscar (Foreign film category) now when you look at previous winners like Crouching Tiger hidden dragon then compare the quality of that movie to the Yoruba movies with strange titles then for eg. I have seen Funke Akindele in a film that she played a student, a crazy woman, a prostitute and a normal person, she spoke the same way, acted the same way, behaved the same way nothing changed, when you play the role and character of a student, you act like a student, speak like a student, you behave like a student, you enter the world of a student, thats I call acting, Yoruba movie have geniune titles and storylines but its all the same all over Nollywood, |
@ paddy lo your reply just shows the kind of person u are! does she look lyk a marriage material to u? A sane man cannot look at that trash and call it good, k.I would marry Halle Berry
|
200 years a go Obama would be a slave, if he was caught stealing, raping or shooting he would be referred to as BLACK |
The new Ghanaian movie the tickets are selling like made in London due to be premiered next week and you lot are here condemning a movie because a little flesh was shown, so what would have happened if the full shi-bang was revealled? you would have called NATO or ECOMOG |
i totally agree, most women that have nothing to pinpoint their lack or empty, dry relationship always end up sayin such things, its because i am successful they run away. men dont give a shit, but where a man finds out another person wants to be wearing the same trouser in a relationship then there is a problem. most independent women become pompous and arrogant, that is the way independent men also behave. but the only difference between independent men and women is the man naturally knows how to intereact with the society and his sucess and doesnt need nairaland to tell him what do, but an independent women she is clueless, she finds out that the shoe she is wearing is big she is not used 2 it, so she tries her best 2 fit into society but ends up ruining her relationship then comes 2 nairaland for affirmation. it takes a very matured woman in any organisation, that is wealthy or independent not 2 come of rude to the the general public, this kind of women rule, people flock around them, i emphasise matured!!!, but the immature ones end up being rude easily irritably and believes she can get anything she wants by demanding, my point is are u really succesful poster, sucess involves alot of things not only financial gratification, but also involves spiritual happiness, emotional happiness, physical well being and so on , when uve balanced all then you can be classified as succesful, its an art that most men naturally know how to do, like i said b4 only a afew matured women know how 2 balance everything and still hold onto thier relationship.ENOUGH SAID!!!! |
I have a friend whose married to a Malaysian practically she's a millionaire but she respect's her husband, you want to see how she rushes home from her business to make her husbands food and she doesn't let the housemaid get in the way, my friend told me that in the beginning he was fearful but 10 years of marriage she has never talked about who makes what or who brought what to the family, I also know guys who are married to English or European heiress without nothing or no problem, but Naija!!!! by the time they tell you your life story you would be close to commit suicide. So some guys avoid the situation from the beginning, some go in and get burnt, some go in and forever become a foot mat because he is prepare to accept the dirt been thrown at him, some go in and despite all the money she makes she knows that theirs honour in her been a wife first and submit to him (not slavery) |
Fact is the poster is not talking about those who are in a relationship but she also brought up the cases of women who are unable to settle with a man because they are successful. If men would learn to see women as human beings rather than the stereotyped weaker sex who must be taken care of they'd live a better and stressfree life. What are you talking about, you and i know that less than 1% of a Nigerian woman is likely to take a back step in a relationship so far she's the bread winner in that house, her tongue becomes sharper and before anything she starts to throw her weight around, a Nigerian man would still want you to be his wife reagerdless of her wealth this is where the problem lies, a man has his ego to protect and before it gets bruised he would walk, before she dents the mans confidence further. |

The issue depend on the man involved. There are some that are ego-centric and would prefer their wife did not rise above them. I used to know a female commisoner in my state, infact the family lived close to my house when growing up, whose husband destroyed her politcal career. She was called to serve twice during the military regime, and each she would resign because her husband, a Mike Tyson at it, frustrated her. I could remember her husband complain she doesn't cook his food any more, bla bla, And one would wonder, how do you expect a commissioner to come back from office and be inside kitchen to pound yam,so if the husband sleeps with the house girl or house maid you would call him a dog, but someone was available to attend to his needs |
I really dont think any right thinking man should be afraid of another (wo)man.look at you, a "typical" Nigerian rich lady could easily make you remember the day you were born with some few lines, most especially if she has her mother standing as her back-up, They would make you feel like dirt!!! now tell me, how much dirt are you the husband are you prepared to take because you are thinking right, A man could easily loose confidence, esteem in himself just from a few harsh lines from the Baroness he lives with, am sorry thats the difference between black people and white people, and I have seen enough of it on Nollywood and I know people who have experienced it, |
African women mostly Nigerian women the richer they are the more arrogant they become, they are more likely turn the Husband into house if the chance presents itself, They have a way of looking down their nose at their partner, I little arguement the woman would let rip or loose about how she funded the husband youngest cousin education mostly in public, so sometimes you dont blame men avoiding them |
Sweetheart: Sounds like a typical boring nollywood movieSPOT ON One of those bollywood storyline thats been re-written |

@HJ - In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 is the second studio album by American rapper Jay-Z, released on November 4, 1997. The album received positive reviews from critics but fans were not embracing Jay-Z's commercialized new image. The album features a much more pop oriented sound than his debut release Reasonable Doubt and went on to receive a Platinum certification from the RIAA, selling more than 1.2 million copies in the U.S. Producers for Reasonable Doubt such as DJ Premier and Ski contribute to a limited number of beats on this album, though the majority of the production is handled by beatmakers from Puff Daddy's Bad Boy label, giving the album a generally glossier sound than its predecessor. It displayed a shift from the mafioso rap themes of his first effort to the so called "jiggy" era of late 90's hip-hop, often credited to videos and albums from Puff Daddy and his Bad Boy record label's roster of artists including Notorious B.I.G. (the first two singles from his second album were both huge pop hits) and Mase. The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse Never sold 3m let alone 4m The Black Album You know what forget |
I won't go as far as to say that they are hideous looking, I'll rather say Average Looking. However I would add that some of em' are indeed hideousLook it goes from Average to Hideous when everywhere I turn I see pictures of omotola, Ini, Rita, Genny, Funke and that big fat ugly one that thinks the sun shines out of her backside. |
