Romance › Re: Would You Date/marry An Older Girl? why or why not? by omar22(m): 11:58am On Oct 20, 2009
When I was at Uni this girl fresh from Naija joined my class in the second year, both the same age and after a while I wanted to move in on her but she stopped my advance by telling me that she dates older men! that am too young for her! fair enough! we became friends within a period of 4 years she ended up sleeping with loads Married men who lied to her or those who have a fiancee waiting somewhere for them, in the end she had to travel back to Naija look for a bobo to marry then came back with her but the guy looked more like a pensioner!!!

i know girl who rejected a guy she liked because she found out that he was 6 months younger than her. I thought it was a very ridiculous thing to do.
This is a perfect case of letting society predict or colonizing on how you should live your life?

Its called shallow minded or narrow vision,  how long before the word "Our Culture" pops out!!!
Romance › Re: Are White Women More Faithful Than Black Women? by omar22(m): 11:46am On Oct 20, 2009
On average an oyinbo woman gives it all in a relationship, that is why in turn they expect the same from their partners, they don't take prisoners. On the hand i personally know of a couple of AFRICAN,not black british of west indian CHRISTIAN women that bleeps around behind their husbands back, right in their family homes, even when they are in a cordial relationship with their partners, money.

It is mostly about the highest bidder not affection for typical sisters, although there are still some very homely, humble and caring ones but in most cases, something must give big time.
Look I agree, the numbers among Nigerian and West Indies are growing in London when it comes to unfaithfulness but a typical Essex girl, once she's drunk or tipsy, omo na lottery whoever is in her radar would touch down!!!
Romance › Re: Are White Women More Faithful Than Black Women? by omar22(m): 11:31am On Oct 20, 2009
yes white girls r more faithful
WHAT !!!!!!

Look I dont know what world your living in but white and most especially the English or American ladies could sleep with anyone at the drop of a hat they dont care, why do you think the English have the highest rate of Divorcehuh ok we have other europeans countries and they have their own part to play when it comes to been unfaithful to their partners,  but African and Asian lady do feel that its a curse to be unfaithful but yes we do have cases but for every Nigerian woman who defaults on her partner we would have 50 white ladies,  A lady who once left her partner after she won a free breast in plant is head scratching,  I know African women are now joining the party e.g Nigerian, Ghanaians, S Loanes, South Africans but compared to the western world we are a long way away from them

Nia Long?
That ghetto chic?? Dang. . . . . There's no evidence she was born n bred in the States.
On a good day, Ini Edo is prettier than Nia Long.
EXCUSE ME!!!

Despite the fact that Nia Long is 12 years older than Ini Edo, she is far prettier

What about Sanaa Lathan ? I think she is very beautiful
May be but not in the top 20 Afro/America celeb

GABRIELLE UNION IS ONE PRETTY HOT CHIC
She is just an upgrade on Vivica Fox

BUT Sofía Margarita Vergara (a.k.a VIAGRA) Now thats a beauty
TV/Movies › Re: Why Are Nigerians Female Actresses Not Married. by omar22(m): 6:53am On Oct 20, 2009
Most African men do feel insecure about their women success or cannot stand another man frolicking over their partner, so I dont blame them,

Can you imagine they were ask to play a nude scene (a Hollywood or Gollywood role)?

The man might catch fire huh huh huh

That's sad though, I wouldn't mind seeing some nigerian actor/actresses in the movie. I would also love it to be filmed in Nigeria, not some carribean jungle like hollywood does most of the time.
Well they would have think about whats safe for the casting crew most especially incidents of kidnapping going on in the delta region not only that cost would become a factor, theirs a reason why Hollywood is being avoided by so many stars or production companies. they would be a lot of Nigerian actors but unfortunately theirs a very strong chance they wont be nollywood stars David Oyelowo is a very good actor, sophie is good as well
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 8:33pm On Oct 17, 2009
Who si arguing that with you. They can shoot it in the moon if they want as long as they can create the proper background. in the same vein, they can invite a Nigerian actor/actress to wherever they are shooting it to work with them. It's this attitude that makes most directors misrepresent Africa in many of their movies.
I wasnt arguing with you, I was saying it as it, it seems like everyone is trying to dictate who should be in the film and where the film has t be shot, at the end of the day the film Budget could be around $15m to $40m lets say the film was expected to make $60m in return! how much of that $60m would come from Nigeria's share of the market?
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 10:00am On Oct 17, 2009
Frederick Forsyth's "The day of the jackal". There is no relationship between the superb novel and the movie. The director of that movie[Fred Zinnemann] should be shot to death.
Why, he who blows the piper controls the tune, he who produces the movie could do whatever he/she likes, at the end of the day they dont need to shoot it in Nigeria if theirs so many red tapes to cut,
Sports › If We Make It To World Cup! Who Takes Charge? by omar22(op): 11:36am On Oct 16, 2009
I was wondering! And this is the same situation with some of my Argentines colleagues at work who at this current moment are thinking about Diego Maradona leading Argentine national team to South Africa! Because though they have qualified but the word hopeful is not on the menu. Let’s say we or should I say Nigeria miraculously managed to secure a place at next years world cup! Do you still think Amodu should still be in charge or should we wait till after the nation’s cup in Angola, then it would be a bit late and we would find ourselves in the 2002 situation when we had over 60 players in the Super Eagle’s camp! Players from division 2 or 3 of the English league.

Should Amodu still be in charge if we make it to South Africa?

(a) Yes
(b) Wait till after the Nations cup in Angola
(c) No, he should get the bullet now!

@Mrsb

If the movie is produced and Directed by Nollywood? they might play it so close to the story, but a real life story would be acted in a drama scenario, and I would be a waste
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 10:45am On Oct 16, 2009
I think Djimon Hansou can pull it off, afterall he's from Benin, he already has our accent, will also love to see Sophie Okenedo, its been a while, there's also Chiwetel Ejiofor and Adewale Agbaje they are all naija peeps, wouldn't mind seeing a naija based act like Genevieve also.
I havent read the book so i cant say who to play what role, but all the leading roles would definitely go to the top dogs of the movie world.

I am really happy for Chimamanda. I've read that book and WOW! that book is goooooood. can't wait to see it on sceen, I only hope they do justice to the story line and not over-edit it thereby making it lose its real substance.
We are talking about a Hollywood movie? you are going to see some twist and turns which would leave you confused,

I know alot of guys detest Ophrah's show. I understand. Even some comedians make joke about her. But she surely is arguable the most influential woman on earth, No worry she no go burst
Actually! if you take away my bitter tinted glasses, Oprah has done really good for herself and the people around her, to be the most power lady in Beverley Hills is something, she is the perfect story for all black people who thinks that because my parents are poor automatically means am going to be poor, but black being black we always find someone to blame for our set backs,

Apart from what she said about Nigerians that got me in rage, She is an inspiration,

Do not forget that most naija movies atre short within 2 weeks.
which time are you talking about because Sidney Poitie has been winning acting awards since the 60s they dont give afro/american roles because they dont want to,  let me tell you something i have worked in a film company,  no film company would risk it,

Even Ghandi was played by an English man and not an Indian

I wonder why this guy thinks we are lame. If Chimamanda wrote a story that attracts their attention, why can't we provide thespians who can do the same?
she wrote the Novel end of story (they would reward her name and would be the screenwriter of the movie thats it), she has no right over who acts or appear unless if she wants to direct and produce the movie herself. They could change the story to suit them, add some parts that never happened,
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 1:07am On Oct 15, 2009
@agaba1 am not saying your dumb!! no if you look at all the major roles based on a story in Africa, they normally use a foreign based African who is well establish in the movie industry or they would ask for an african american do it because they could easily learn to take on that roles character including the accent,

but in Africa its different,  if you ask Genevieve, Rita or Omotola to act as Gaddaffi's daughter, they would still speak like a nigerian, behave like a nigerian,
TV/Movies › Re: Chimamanda's Book Picked For A Hollywood Movie by omar22(m): 12:57am On Oct 15, 2009
@Emeka

Let me break it down for you!

The production company is English based, probably the director would be a Scottish (Kevin Macdonald) what to fund the movie you have the justify that you are more likely to make twice or 3 times the actual budget, now who would dp you think would promote the movie more on a global stage Olu Jacobs or Denzel? Kerry Washington or Genevieve because the movie wont be relying on Nigeria ciname gate takings so am sorry but every leading role would be occupied by a foreign based actors they might african born but they are more established in the western worlds movie industry

What do you mean?. Are you saying that Nigerians are not good enough for a big budget movie?. We are only good enough for peanuts?. I remember somebody told me the same thing when PSG wanted to sign Okocha for $17M. back then, African players don't earn that much and that person told me that no Oyibo in his right mind will pay an African such amount for his services in soccer. Well, it happened. Stop looking down on us; many actresses in Nigeria are better than Sophie Okonedo.

What pressure can she sustain more than Nigerians who manage to shoot movies without electricity?
I rest my case!!!

You call shooting without lights pressure? tell me your joking!!!! Acting has moved away from remembering your lines, you have to take on board the your role's character, you would have to enter that characters world. for example look at "Jenifa" the movie, despite the ladies were students none of them acted like a student or spoke like a typical student, or showed the character of a student, They all acted the same as a student as when they left university. compared to Kirstie Dunst and Julia Stile in Mona Lisa Smiles, they took the character of a Student,

Am not knocking the Nigerian stars all am saying that they are not ready and the Nollywood industry doesnt groom their stars towards that level, even one Bollywood star has broke into Hollywood, look at how long it took Jackie Chan and Jet Li to brake into Hollywood,

We are not ready and the movie is going straight to the pictures or Cinema and not home video and the producers has to get it right,
