You are right, but a white coach has yet to deliver for African countries.
Apart from the Egyptian coach

Name another African born coach that won the Nations Cup

I am happy that we still have some people who will tell the truth here. If Amodu is not competent enough , the man should be left there and beef him up with Keshi and Siasia, we made the mistake in 2002, we are making in 2010, we fail to remember that God does not support injustice. Nigeria will not go far in this world cup. Some people say Amodu lost to Ghana in Angola, they forgot that the same Amodu defeated them twice in 2002.
Do you want me to get the Violin? Like I said after Mozambique did us a favour last year, I said sack Amodu now but we let Amodu waste precious time, I now Lagerback has a mountain to climb because he only had 3 months to prepare, I honestly believe that if Lagerback had taken the team to the nations cup, we would even have a better team than the one we currently have…. Back to Coco the clown called Amodu… its either he has someone in the NFA that’s helping him because I don’t know why a man who has failed twice previously would get another bite at the cherry!!! In 2002 he struggled to beat Liberia who were rank in the 100s then couldn’t beat a 10 men Senegalese team…. But the last world cup qualification how we struggled in every game and Amodu just sits there, no motivation, no encouraging, no rallying you would honestly think he has his mind on something else, but poor Daniel Amokachi was urging the players forward. The Egypt game Nigeria were down, chasing the game guess what? He swapped a holding player for another holding player, the guy reading the update on BBC radio laughed out loud when updated the listeners. In the quarter final we laboured against the U21 Ghanaians no Essien, no Appiah, no Muntari, no Pantsil… we still lost am sorry that was it. Someone mentioned the CURSE OF A BLACKMAN… well someone once mentioned that to hide something from a Blackman put it in a book, we see managers updating themselves going on courses but no Africans have that “enough is good enough” mentality… Siasia said he is not interest in the age competition anymore… he wants to move on and better himself… Let Amodu go out and try his luck with Botswana or Mali and see how he plays “pay and play” policies,  They are clubs in the Japanese, Australian leagues or leagues in the middle east……. he should go there and apply for jobs

Amodu qualified the team and he should be the one leading them period. if lagerback is so good why did he fail with the swedish team. a team with players like Zlatan.
Van Gaal failed with Holland in 2002, in a team that had Mac Overmars, Bergkamp, Kliveurt the De Bore Brothers etc. doesnt mean he is a bad coach!!!!
Christianity Etc › Re: Pay Debt Or Pay Tithe by omar22(m): 1:57pm On Jun 15, 2010
Yes tithing and offering is just a way to aid the spread and sustenance of the gospel
Abraham never tithed on his own personal property or livestock.

Jacob wouldn’t tithe until God blessed him first.

Only Levite priests could collect tithes, and there are no Levite priests today.

Only food products from the land were tithable.

Money was never a tithable commodity.

Christian converts were never asked to tithe anything to the Church.

Tithing in the Church first appears centuries after completion of the Bible.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pay Debt Or Pay Tithe by omar22(m): 1:17pm On Jun 15, 2010
Even if tithe or tithing was not mentioned in the new testament i see reason to give to the body of christ because in a way i am helping with the spread of his gospel. And that alone is something to be proud of and i am proud of that.
That is offering, and you have to be a cheerful giver not one that gives thinking about the bills he needs to pay

do you know we run into debt a time because we refused to see imortance in the payment of our tithes?I would pay my tithe first and i know God would suprise me because it shows great faith for me to have done such.

I am impressed with LAGERBACK - SEGUN ODEGBAMI
Published: June 14, 2010

* Former Eagles' captain, Segun Odegbami has commended Coach Lars Lagerback for instilling discipline in the Super Eagles players and organising the team.

Odegbami said in Johannesburg that though the team lost its opening Group B match in the World Cup, they were better organised.

"Generally, it was a much better performance by the Super Eagles than they have put up in a long time. One must give credit to Lagerback for putting some organisation in that team."

Odegbami said the Eagles had potentials and a good chance of winning their remaining Group B matches.

"Absolutely, if the Super Eagles were able to hold one of the favourites of this championship, undoubtedly, one of the teams to watch out in this championship, they can play against any team."

He urged the team to sustain the discipline and organisation they showed in their first match against Argentina to win their remaining matches.

"The other two matches are going to be completely different from the match against Argentina.

"Just because we were able to play this way against Argentina, does not mean that the Eagles will play well against the other two teams," the former skipper of the Green Eagles revealed to the Daily Champion.

Amodu qualifies twice and he is not allowed to take his team. How are we suppose to be sure he would not reach second round too? We just assume not? And claim Lagerback has done it, so he is better and has what is required at this stage?
The last time i checked the biology teacher Onigbinde who replaced Amodu in 2002 wasnt white as it was put on the BBC website, Amodu is tactically ineptitude!!!!

Amodu to share in Nigeria World Cup bonus
Posted: 2010-05-20 21:06

Former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu will share in the World Cup bonus due to Nigeria from FIFA for qualifying for the World Cup.

Amodu was removed from his position and replaced with Swede Lars Lagerback after the African Nations Cup, but the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation have not only agreed to take the coach to South Africa as a World Cup Ambassador, but also included his name to share in 25% of the World Cup bonus due to players and officials.

"The Executive Committee approved a recommendation for former Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Mr. Shuaibu Amodu to travel as one of four Nigerian Football Ambassadors to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, in recognition of his efforts in qualifying the team for the competition," a statement from NFF Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire read.

"Amodu is to earn estacode like other delegates but not match bonuses or any other payment due to players and members of technical crew.

"However, he is to partake of the share of 25% of the World Cup bonus coming from FIFA for participation, alongside players and members of technical crew."
Osaze: Amodu Eagles were predictable
Posted: 2010-05-25 07:25

Osaze Odemwingie says Nigeria became too predictable under former coach Shuaibu Amodu and Lars Lagerback has already created a buzz around the squad.

Osaze, 29, was one of the more outspoken critics of Amodu's regime but he told KickOffNigeria.com that he did so without malice.

"For the past two years, with Amodu, we've been easy to predict. We have to have more variety in our tactics and our attack.

"There's not much negative or bad about his coaching. It's just that its not enough if we are aspiring to go up there. It's the difference between good, and better."

After four training sessions with Lagerback, Odemwingie says things are already looking up, with the Swede instilling a fear no foe confidence in his new team.

"He doesn't look like someone who doubts his own quality and I think he can bring a result that Nigerians expect. I see him relaxed, as someone with a plan, who took this job after watching our games and knowing that he can do better than where we were.

"From the first training, he is looking at attacking football. He is looking at a passing game. He is looking at the penetrating pass, a pass that creates danger, less square passes and more forward passes. He keeps reminding us that we have to play beautiful football and that results are also very important.

"At the same time, you can see that he doesn't want to play a game where Nigeria is scared of the opponent, any opponent."

Odemwingie says already the atmosphere in camp is different.

"You could feel it. You cannot deny it. Like our people say, oyibo na oyibo. There is a touch they add to Africans when they bring their ideas, their calculations, their tactics, their organisation, their way of being more effective on the field. That is going to be added for sure.

"The training so far has been good, the build-up and the movement. I think Lagerback is the best choice Nigeria made."

More importantly, the forward says Nigeria have to return to their attacking traditions.

"We need to be more ourselves. I think that is what we were denied these past few years. We were not playing like Nigeria. We were more defensive minded. That is why we didnt score so much goals lately, and that is also why we have been struggling even with the average African teams.

"But we could also understand that choice of tactics because it looks like there was a little bit of lack of confidence in our defence line.

"A few times we conceded silly goals, but at the same time, we needed the result and changes had to be done.

"We hope now that things will be better."

On his first day at work with his squad, Lagerback showed the players individual videos and Osaze said it came as a bit of a surprise.

"I was surprised because we never had that before in our coaching.

"That's another little thing. Those little things make a difference. Europe has gone far. I am not here to criticise our situation. Its just that right now we have to admit that we are still a little bit behind. In our clubs we see that those things are important. Here, he showed us a few highlights, pointed out some things and everybody is commending it."

He is under no illusions though, as to how much work remains to be done, but says there is a positive feeling about.

"We have a lot of work to do. The whole team have been commending the training sessions, and we hope to continue for the remaining days.

"We are getting a positive feeling now about ourselves, because it is in the hands of the coach how he motivates his team."

Ultimately though, he says it will be up to the players to do the business on the pitch.

"We have to believe in ourselves, and in what we can do and go out there on the pitch and show it for the love our country. There are a lot of people who just want a chance to play and that means that if you are lucky enough to be selected, you have to give your best at all times."

Veron survived against us because we Nigeria played and always play at a walking pace, if Argentina where playing a team that ups the tempo to high pace like either Ghana or Germany, Veron would be begging for air after 30 minutes
