PassingShot: Let Igbos fight for their secession without dragging other tribes into it. And if they go about it in a civilized manner, they might actually find sympathy and support from some other nationalities. The current campaign of hate and violence against Nigeria WILL NEVER achieve Biafra for them. It has never worked and it will not work in Nigeria. I was so irritated the other day when some of them even carved out a chunk of Benue state into their imaginary country. You just can't believe the arrogance! |

The body is disturbed that the proposed Biafra Republic as widely reported in the social media includes the whole of Delta State.
The statement stressed: “We recall with pains the day the defunct Biafran Army invaded Warri and Benin in the then Midwest Region on August 9, 1967.
Never again will the Itsekiri tolerate such invasion. The Itsekiri nation is committed to the unity of Nigeria and will do all it can to promote and protect it as one indivisible country. @Tonyebarcanista, @Truckpusher: perhaps you guys were right after all. What more can I say? It shall be well with Nigeria. |

1. I Never Betrayed APC I have to state this on clear terms that I have neither betrayed any party at ANY time. When I left APC for PDP, I never betrayed any APC supporters as I exercised by inalienable right to association. Though my decision as at then may disappoint some of my ex- comrades(which is understandable) but it was NEVER a betrayal. I never took any blood oath with anyone in APC nor sign any MoU never to leave APC. It was clearly a right that I exercised. @TonyaBarcanista, I've Never seen a bigger hypocrite than you my entire life. The more you try to wriggle yourself free from the mess you've by your own "cunning" created, the more you become entangled and show the world what a soulless character you are. You and your co-travelers spared no vile and obscene word when insulting Amaechi over his taking sides with the APC- you called him a "back stabber", a "betrayer", and a "traitor" who "betrayed" his "brothers" and his "people". Did Amaechi sign any agreement then or take any blood oath that you guys were aware of that you had to refer to him using such words?? Now the tables have turned, same is being done to you and you are crying like the sissy you are. What a pile of decomposing garbage. Truckpusher, please could you tell this your guy to just shut the fvck up already. I don't think he deserves all the insults that have been thrown his way lately because of his stand (and yours) on the Ipob stuff but he has no right whatsoever dropping those lines I quoted based on the things he said about Amaechi when all Amaechi did was to "exercise his inalienable right to association", just like himself. So annoying to say the least. |

Politics › Re: Igbos, Please Leave The Niger Delta Alone by omenka(m): 5:56pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
Afam4eva: One of the reasons why I don’t support groups such as MASSOB or IPOB is not because I don’t think Igbos or any group for that matter have the right for self-determination. My only worry is the mode through which this is carried out. The truth is that the Biafran dream will remain a pipe dream if the initiators go about it the way they are currently. Apart from the fact that they are not going about it the right way by appealing to those that matter in Igboland and taking their case to the United Nations (UN), the most embarrassing disposition that they have created is one of forcing people who have not given their consent to be included in the Biafran agenda.
The fact that most of the areas known as the Niger Delta were naturally part of the old eastern region and as such were naturally part of the Biafran agitation in the 60s does not mean the same thing holds today. The divide and rule tactics has worked and anybody that can’t see it needs to go for an eye checkup. I’m tired of this whole “We are not Igbo, we are Edo”, “Our ancestors ate Igbo yam and that is why we are Igbo” or the opposing views that portray such desperate disposition that could be mistaken as Hitler’s intended conquering of Europe.
Igbos should fight for their rights and their only. Let’s stop this “SS and SE” BS. This people have oil for Bleep sake. Leave them the heck alone. They don’t want to have anything to do with you. I wonder why you can’t see that. They probably hate you more than the Hausas and the Yorubas that you see as your arch rivals. You have nothing to offer them, so leave them the heck alone.
In my mind, I even think it will make more sense for Igbos to align with other major groups and not minorities. These minorities don’t care about you. They see you as a land grabber. It doesn’t matter whether their names are the same as yours, their mode of thinking and vision is different, so it will serve you well if you focus on your SE affairs and stop romancing people that don’t want to be romanced.
If you are really passionate about getting Biafra whether or not it comes with oil or seaport then you must present your Biafran case as the SE alone. Don’t even include the Asaba area, atleast for now. Present your case as the war ravaged SE that no one can benefit from and the powers that be may change their kind and give it to you. But as long as you keep romancing oil, those Abuja people will not mind being Niger Delta’s father Christmas by sending gun wielding soldiers to teach you a bitter lesson for the second time. A word is enough for the wise. Afam, I thought you are a mod and as such should refrain from taking sides on issues of this nature. Nevertheless, I think you guys are taking this whole thing too darn serious, heck!!! I can't even believe the things I'm reading. |

Atlantian: I am a Niger Deltan and a Biafran, Nigeria is my country of Birth but Biafra is my country of destiny. Barcanista is not speaking for the Niger Deltans, he is not qualified to speak for his family needless to say speak for Niger Deltans. When Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB says jump! Niger Delta says, "How High", that is the extent of our brotherhood. As a proof, I want to remind us of the meetings that Asari Dokubo had with the Biafrans earlier this year.
If Asari Dokubo can show openly and transparently 'our' support from Biafra, who is a name called Barcanista to say otherwise. Nnamdi Kanu, Asari Dokubo- leaders of Niger Delta. Nnamdi asks Niger deltans (Truckie et al) to jump and Truckie replies "how high sir"?? Truckpusher, come see format oo! |

Truckpusher: The noise emanating from this thread is nothing but a pointer to all and sundry on the average mindset of the three major Nigerian tribes ,all they have always wanted was nothing but the total control over others even when it is obvious that these different ethnic groups posses their own distinct identity. The hate filled comments emanating from a people that called us brothers yesterday is well understood and we are not moved and will not cower under any circumstances ,at least now we can agree that all that show of brotherly love was all nothing special but interests, regional gains and personal prerogative let nobody deceive themselves. And we should always learn how to differentiate political leaning/party affiliation from regional interest and ethnicity.
Barcanista ,you have done marvelously well with this thread as this represents the true yearnings and aspirations of all the minority groups of this country that has been subjected to all kinds of marginalization ranging from environmental degradation, bastardized identity,bare-face oppression and the most painful one which is outright claims to the people's homeland and our Igbo neighbors took it to another dimension with their protest about IPOB in Port Harcourt instead of doing the same in Abuja ,the seat of power where their protest would have gotten more recognition.
Let me reiterate here that unity by force is slavery and the Niger Delta can stand on their own if it is the wish of Nigerians that every region should go their separate ways. The Niger Delta people would rather tie their future to the Nigerian project than dream of any kind of secession where there interests are not properly defined and protected and will not bow to any threat from anyone as far as Nigeria remains an entity. The Niger delta people will not fold their hands and watch any neighbor blackmail us into any submission as we also have the right to seek for our emancipation on our own terms and we do not owe any region any explanation or whatsoever under any circumstances and our Igbo brothers should respect our decision because we own ourselves and only us can dictate for ourselves.
Finally, no amount of intimidation will move us and no amount of insults will make us cower to anyone's ideology unless on our own terms and this is where we stand. Na wa oo. This thing that started as a whispered joke has been blown out of control. Make una chill abeg. Shoo.. One can't even have a moment of silence on the politics board because of the noise coming from you guys. I thought you might have chilled by now since Miz has spoken with you behind closed doors.
