Very shameful indeed.

I opened a thread for people to vote in who they think had the best comment, abuse, hack, wit or drama for the year gone by. About 90% voted unanimously for barcanista. So what makes me insane? Happy new year bro
@Bolded: Contradictory. Unanimous means "ALL INCLUSIVE". You can't use it when referring to a "fraction" of something. smiley

All rise for my Amiable Comrade and brother in the struggle!! He's indeed an Iconic figure on this forum. God bless him and increase his wisdom as we run the final lap in the marathon to redeem the lost glory of our Motherland.

Politics › Re: Rev. Fr Mbaka Advices Christians To Not Vote For GEJ. by omenka(m): 3:28pm On Jan 01, 2015
You people should stop this trash. It is nauseating and divisive. I can wager my next 50 breaths the man never called for "christians" not to vote for Jonathan. If he says, as you wrote, "Nigeria is too big for Jonathan", then I've got no problems with that. But I think your trying to twist it saying he "asked christians not to vote for Jonathan" is totally misleading and in very bad taste.

I hate it when people try to blend politics with religion even if it seems to favour my choice. The mixture is too damn volatile for comfort.

By invoking religion, trying desperately to paint
General Muhammadu Buhari as a Muslim
fundamentalist who is going to introduce Shari’a
in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria, with a view
to getting Christians to hate the man and vote
against him, these supposed friends are making
it look as if the President hasn’t achieved
anything positive to market him with.
Exactly what I've been trying to tell these guys!!

I hope the resident TANoidal trolls on Nairaland are reading this!!.
Politics › Re: As Presdent,i Feel The Pain, hear Cries And Share Sorrows Of Nigerians – Jonathan by omenka(m): 1:45pm On Jan 01, 2015
Trash.

Trying so hard to appeal to the emotions of Nigerians after he's seen that all his schemes to demonize Buhari and polarise Nigerians have failed.

You care so much about us yet you would deploy tanks and the army to put down a peaceful protest in 2012.

You love us so much yet you told us on national tv you don't give a damn about us!!

Now the heat has turned on you and the day you thought would take eternity to arrive is starring you in the face already.

Spare us the twaddle mr President. We don't need it. It is coming a little too late.

Don't take everyone opposed to CAN as muslims. I'm as Christian as christian can be, better than the crook Ayo himself. "Crossed-over" in living faith last night.

You look beautiful. Great figure.

Happy new year.

If it was lie,it is accepted as those lies will foster relationship among christian and muslim.

Just shows how low CAN under oritsejefor can go.
It is really unfortunate my brother. What positive is there to come out of something like thishuh

This is a new low for CAN honestly. So disappointed.

To what end is this rebuttalhuh

"They are still our enemies"??

CAN indeed is an extension of PDP. Stoking religious disharmony amongst Nigerians. What exactly do they seek to gain from this statement??

Op thanks for this thread.

At least, the one thing Nairalanders and indeed Nigerians should take home from this is that these guys don't give a beetle's asss about us. Take a look at the role call; we've got Hausas, Yorubas, Igbos and other tribesmen in there, christians and muslims, northerners, southerners, easterners, and westerners, they loot the treasury in unity and harmony!!

But when elections draw near, they play up the same cards to divide us, create animosity amongst ourselves, manipulate and exploit our emotions, get the votes they want, and then go back into the vaults and continue stealing from where they stopped!!!

We must open our eyes to these snags. We must rise above all these feudal considerations which were deliberately implanted by the political jobers to subvert our senses and promote their uncanny agenda to perpetually keep us subjugated. We must get wise!!

Happy new year all.

Rubbish from the same suspects from other side of the Niger. How old was Mandela when he became president. How is Prime Minister of India there now? Mugabe, Sirleaf, Bashir, Paul Biya, President of Eq. Guinea, and many more are still there today and in their 70s or 80s doing well for their countries.

Buhari looks more healthy that the drunkard from Oytuoke you all called president.
You are going too far, bring it back home, infact, to his brother!! How old was Ojukwu when he contestedhuh

you cant sell bullshiit, even if packaged in golden foil, because it stinks from afar.
Steve Jobs could sell bulllshit to anyone in an aluminium foil, believe that. It is all about branding and apparently, the Jonathan campaign handlers are doing a terrible job of branding his candidacy. Their relentless attacks even make more people sympathetic to the General.

It is just like having to advice one's child CONSTANTLY to be wary of some bad boy and NEVER to get close to him, that he's a devil in disguise. The more you keep drumming it into her ears how dangerous the said dude is, the stronger your daughter's resolve to want to get into bed with the dude. Jonathanians simply don't understand this principle!

How the cookie crumbles.

I'm hoping to see that day Nigeria can't export a single drop of oil so we can have real leaders ready to roll up their sleeves and do some hard work, and not the nutcases high on petrodollars striding the corridors of power today.

Its a waste of time. Even if the resolution gets passed.....it will still be vetoed by the US! With or without Nigeria votes....the resolution is dead on arrival.
Even without US veto....isrealis will not honor d resolution. The UN can not enforce such resolution as well.
Here's someone who thinks!!

People really don't understand the country Israel is. Don't they wonder why she keeps getting away with so many atrocities from war crimes to that Gaza Humanitarian Flotilla incident which the ICC investigated and said "there is strong evidence a war crime was committed by Israel, BUT the don't intend to prosecute the case"!! It is the most obvious indicator that Israel as a country is beyond the jurisdiction of any world body!!

The only country Israel can listen to is the United States, period! Anything outside that is just a puff of hot air. Someone once described the country as the 51st state of the United States. US can never take any stand that hurts that country.

As for Nigeria's stand, well, can you blame us? I mean, what is there to gain by flexing muscles in the eye of the press when you've got a lot to lose in the end in terms of aid monies, trade and investment, especially now that the economy is taking a serious beating from plummeting oil prices?? As long as we keep depending on the US and her foreign partners over which she exerts enormous influence for forex, we will keep doing their bidding! Forget the gay marriage stuff, that is small potatoes, this is BIG deal!!

If a country as powerful as Russia could feel so much heat from US' actions, how much more Nigeria?? As much as I wouldave loved to see a vote in favour of Palestinian state-hood understanding the horrendous crimes that have been committed against them under the occupation, I still feel we must first protect our own interest before that of any other country.

And if you ask me, the vote would only be symbolic (just as the guy I quoted pointed out), and any decision taken which doesn't resonate well with US' foreign policy will be vetoed by them in the end. So what's the point voting in their favour??

When we become much more economically independent, we'd have the leverage to take strong decisions in matters of this nature. We certainly haven't reached that point yet.
