Politics › Re: How Hypocrisy Of Civil Servant Is Draining Nigeria's Purse In Covid-19 Lockdown. by omisanjo(m): 4:54pm On Jun 05, 2020 |
dokitalafa: Straight to the point. Some might see this ranting but honest truth need to be stated the way it!
There has not been any deafening noise or protest against the economic lockdown we are experiencing due to the current lockdown imposed by the presidency over the Covid-19 pandemic mainly because the millions of civil servants across the federal, states and local government areas are getting paid for staying at home doing nothing for past two months or so.
You know why there has been no protest by them? Because whether you like it or not, the government at all levels are paying them salaries for not working for those period of time and so all other non civil service workers can go to hell
Imagine what would happened if the government had declared 'a no work, no pay' conditions due to the pandemic? Trust our civil servants to draw the sympathy of fellow Nigerian against the government at all level to resume work with immediate alacricity. There would have been protest across the length and breath of this country. That's when too much grammar that are not inside oxford dictionary supporting 'life must continue' stand of them
The truth is that a lot of Nigerians are selfish to the bones. Some don't value the economical welfare of fellow Nigerians. Just because you and your family are very comfortable doesn't mean every other person is!
Been in touch with some of my friends who are civil servants and a lot of them don't feel like getting back to work for meantime because to them, 'everywhere is still not safe due to the Corona pandemic as seen in daily figures released everyday by NCDC'
Imagine this very selfish, reckless and distasteful statement coming from some people because they are getting paid for not working or still have enough reserve to feed them and families but don't have any form of empathy for those whose livelihoods depend on daily income they get!
Is it not same America that has been the center of the Corona virus epidemic that has killed over 100,000 people now having their lockdown totally relaxed? Is it not same USA that we now have millions of people protesting on the street against racism with most of them not even bothering to wear facemask?
Compare that to our dear country where the wuruwuru livescore of Covid 19 figures are been dished out on a daily basis. Then you understand the selfishness of some people
Oh, you don't still know that we have been on technical lockdown since May 6th that Presidency announced partial ease?
Lets break it down
- Millions of students across primary, secondary, tertiary and even nursery/creche are totally on lockdown - Airports that service millions of people on monthly basis is grounded - Millions of legal related porfrssionals like lawyers, paralegal etc are grounded - Millions of civil servants are grounded and so virtually no contacts to execute - Interstate travels that supports millions are virtually grounded except those who are using strong head to do so
So in essence, the economy is on technical lockdown!
Don't get me wrong on the following - Corona is real. - Its important to keep safe. - The lockdown was imposed by the Presidency - Lockdown was necessitated to ensure the containment of the spread - we don't have a strong healthcare system in Nigeria which was damaged by successive including the present one
The grouse here is the hypocrisy that stinks to heaven of our dear civil servants if they are not been paid for doing nothing for over two of stay at home.
And before you conclude whether it is hunger that makes me to write this 'ranting', Your post doesn't carry any sense. If I may ask? Did they stay at home on their own or as a result of govt directive dat civil servant on level 1-12 shld stay off work cos of d covid-19 pandemic. Are u jealous? Is d govt complaing about deir staying at home or payment of deir salaries. Lastly wots your problem? |

Politics › Re: EXCLUSIVE: Abba Kyari’s Real Date Of Birth Uncovered by omisanjo(m): 9:18am On Apr 19, 2020 |
fairfora: Abba Kyari, the late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, was 67 years old when he died last night, PREMIUM TIMES can now authoritatively report.
Mr Kyari was born on September 23, 1952, according to official records obtained by PREMIUM TIMES. The records have not been publicly disclosed until now.
Mr Kyari died on Friday night in Lagos, becoming the most senior Nigerian government official and public figure to fall victim to coronavirus. The presidency announced his death shortly after midnight on Saturday.
His body was moved to Abuja on Saturday morning and subsequently interred at the military cemetery in the Gudu neighbourhood of the capital.
Although he had served as the chief of staff since 2015, and widely believed to be the president’s most powerful aide, little was known about his age and date of birth.
That led many media outlets to estimate his age, putting it at between 60s and 70s, and even 80s. While PREMIUM TIMES indicated in its first reporting of his death that Mr Kyari’s age was unknown, Reuters said he was in his 70s.
Some local broadcast stations like the AIT said Mr Kyari was born in 1938, an estimate that echoed the Wikipedia’s entry that said he was 81.
The social media was also locked in fierce arguments about Mr Kyari’s age.
But information obtained by PREMIUM TIMES from multiple records showed that Mr Kyari was born on September 23, 1952, a Tuesday.
He had his early and secondary education in Nigeria and obtained at least two degrees in England. First, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Warwick in early 1980s before proceeding to the University of Cambridge for his Master’s degree in law. He was called to the Nigerian bar in the mid-1980s.
Indeed, throughout his five-year streak as Mr Buhari’s chief of staff, Mr Kyari did not receive birthday wishes that inundate administrative officials and politicians of his status.
Also, the press statements announcing his appointment in 2015 and his reappointment in 2019 did not also indicate his date of birth or age.
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/388646-exclusive-abba-kyaris-real-date-of-birth-uncovered.html There were two people with d name Abba Kyari. The first Abba Kyari was a retired brigadier general n former military governor born in 1938 While our late COS Abba Kyari was born in I952. Coincidentally both men are from Borno. Let's get dis fact. Case settled. |

Deuteronomy 21:18–21.
If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his home town. And they shall say to the elders of his city, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.” Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear of it and fear.
Sure i pray and hope that you will allow your stubborn son to be stoned to death. That would be nice see. |

Occupational therapy (OT) treatment focuses on helping people with a physical, sensory, or cognitive disability be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. OT can help kids with various needs improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
Some people may think that occupational therapy is only for adults; kids, after all, do not have occupations. But a child's main job is playing and learning, and occupational therapists can evaluate kids' skills for playing, school performance, and daily activities and compare them with what is developmentally appropriate for that age group.
According to the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), in addition to dealing with an someone's physical well-being, OT practitioners address psychological, social, and environmental factors that can affect functioning in different ways. This approach makes OT a vital part of health care for some kids.
Kids Who Might Need Occupational Therapy According to the AOTA, kids with these medical problems might benefit from OT:
birth injuries or birth defects sensory processing disorders traumatic injuries (brain or spinal cord) learning problems autism/pervasive developmental disorders juvenile rheumatoid arthritis mental health or behavioral problems broken bones or other orthopedic injuries developmental delays post-surgical conditions burns spina bifida traumatic amputations cancer severe hand injuries multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and other chronic illnesses Occupational therapists might:
help kids work on fine motor skills so they can grasp and release toys and develop good handwriting skills address hand–eye coordination to improve kids' play and school skills (hitting a target, batting a ball, copying from a blackboard, etc.) help kids with severe developmental delays learn basic tasks (such as bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth, and feeding themselves) help kids with behavioral disorders maintain positive behaviors in all environments (e.g., instead of hitting others or acting out, using positive ways to deal with anger, such as writing about feelings or participating in a physical activity) teach kids with physical disabilities the coordination skills needed to feed themselves, use a computer, or increase the speed and legibility of their handwriting evaluate a child's need for specialized equipment, such as wheelchairs, splints, bathing equipment, dressing devices, or communication aids work with kids who have sensory and attentional issues to improve focus and social skills.
