Dibiachukwu: What do you expect from a south African uncle tom Just when you thought, you've seen it allThe fact that he call himself archbishop and man of God,beat my imagination |
MOD, can this be move to the front page? Thank you |
I was flabbergasted when i came across news item on the internet concerning Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and i decided to post it here, this a "respectable" man of God, pl read: [img][/img] Desmond Tutu has said he would rather go to hell than worship a homophobic God. The Nobel peace laureate and anti-apartheid hero was lending his support to a UN-backed campaign for gay rights in his native South Africa. Though same sex marriages are legal in the country, homosexuals still experience brutal violence. Last month a lesbian was found dead, having been sexually assaulted with a toilet brush. The retired former Archbishop of Cape Town, 81, is a long-standing campaigner for gay rights, and compared the struggle to that for racial equality in South Africa. He said: "I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place. "I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this. "I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid. For me, it is at the same level." Same-sex relationships are illegal in more than a third of countries around the world and punishable by death in five, said UN human rights chief Navi Pillay, who also spoke at the launch of the Free and Equal campaign in Cape Town. According to the rights group Amnesty International, homosexual acts are still a crime in 38 African countries. According to AFP, Ms Pillay said: "People are literally paying for their love with their lives. "I constantly hear governments tell me, 'but this is our culture, our tradition and we can't change it'... So we have lots of work to do." http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/desmond-tutu-i-would-not-worship-a-god-who-is-homophobic-8734897.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/26/Desmond-tutu-hell-homophobia_n_3661120.html It beat my imagination why a suppose clergyman and a senior clergy for that matter will make such statement. This does not make homosexuality RIGHT |

baba dey: Are you an extremist ni?U call me extremist? LOL, i am not surprise, if that is what you think i am for correcting your falsehood, then you are welcome. And the last i checked, this is an open forum, where i don't need permission to expose your lies. I don't think i sounded anyway offensive in my first post. I saw your claim in your post were you mentioned the Quran as your source, and i decided to point it out that it is wrong that is all. You are always welcome to ask any question but, quote your sources and facts right. And please don't play the good muslim brother card here, it would not work. |
eagle, eye:First of all there poster i responded to, claimed his source as the Quran, which is every misleading and untrue secondly, is it all the actions of christians of today are christ like if i may ask? Marrying under aged girls is as old as Adam and it was practice by virtually all tribes and race of the world, it is until recently that some tribes have tried control or regulate it. Till today it is still being practice among some tribes and ethnic groups. So don't give it a religious under tone until you have your facts. |
baba dey: I hope this not offensive ooo. Prophet mohammed (SAW) married aisha @ the age of 6 and did sometin when she was 9 while he was 54 as it is written in the quran. What do you call this?Look man, as much as i don't like unnecessary argument, i am forced ask you, where did you get your inform from? don't talk if you have nothing sensible to say and don't write if you have no proof to back what you are to write. Let us learn to see not only with eyes but, also with our mind. Thank you |
the site is nice. |
m.esther96:Not your fault, you will not understand. Look beyond the literal meaning of what you are seeing or has been typed. |
TarryFour: And for those still believing or talking about their traditional 'religion':I do not like to sound insultive but, this only shows your level of understanding Please read my post again, Probably, you might understand it this time around. |
Before the coming of Islam and Christian to the Africa, Africans had a way of worship. A way they communicated to their God. They recognized the EXISTENCE of a SUPREME BEING that CREATED everything. They worshiped this supreme being, only that through intermediaries (gods / idols) they created on their own. They believed these gods could facilitate the answering of their prayers faster from the SUPREME GOD. You ask any traditionalist or historian, and he or she will tell you, our ancestors believed there was a SUPREME BEING who they believed do not reside on earth with us. They look at God Almighty has been too power and too big to approach or talk to directly, therefore, they created means of facilitating communication to this God easily. Just like today's technological advance means of communication we find around us. These idols / gods they created were believed to be a mean to an end, but, not the end itself. It will therefore be turning the truth on its head when we say or conclude that our ancestors did not know any supreme God or did not call on any Supreme God. In virtually every African language i can speak or i know of, the is a special or unique name for the Supreme God, that they all use to call HIM when the need arises. This is not peculiar to Africa alone, its all over the whole world. To now say that, because the Yorubas in Nigeria called God Almighty "Olorun" or the Akans in Ghana called Him "Nyame" or the Gas or the Ewes etc, during pre-Christianity or pre-Islamic era, therfore, any time a christian or Muslim Yoruba or akan call unto God in their local languages, they are calling on the same idol or gods their ancestors worshiped is nothing but, intellectual dishonesty. Such a person not only need a psychiatric doctor but, spiritual deliverance. The Arabs before Islam or Christian, worshiped idols, but, they also believed in a Supreme God whom they revere very well. They do not give any of their idols this Supreme God name. They recognized His existence and they all directed their worship to Him through their individual gods. After the coming of Islam, they only did away with the idols and communicated with God almighty directly. This i believe also goes for Christianity. That is why both Christian and Muslim Arabs still call God Almighty "Allah". To now come and say, the christian Arabs call of God almighty "Allah" is right but, the Muslim Arabs' call of God almighty "Allah" is wrong and not the true God is just being sagaciously mischievous. Let us learn to have an open minded discussions on forums like this. Thank you |
omusiliyu: there is nothin like Ghananians. They are Ghanians. Olodo!Lets be decorum in our uttrance, why insult when u rather are wrong? Check your facts next time b4 correcting some1. |

Iranians cannot design and build a car engine even if their collective destiny depends on it. Russia on the other hand will sell anything for money if the price is right. Rogue elements even the state will sell nuclear warhead. The jet you see is nothing more than a publicity stunt. Everything came from Russia at a price.
Unfortunately for u, u are wrong. Iran can and being designing and manufacturing cars for years, they manufacture their own fighter jets even though they use to import them before now. They are one of the few countries that have the capabilities to do that, they also manufacture their submarines and ballistic missiles. Iranians are not arabs my guy. Whether they can stand U.S boot for boot is another question. But, to doubt their capabilities is to say china can can not produce satelites or india can not manufacture atomic bomb. Please check your facts well. |
Alhamdulilahi, i try as much as i can to observe them at the right time, but, when you talk of outright missing of solat, insha Allahu, i can say i do not miss them except when seriously sick. It has gotten to the point whereby i feel uncomfortable when i've not yet observed my solat no matter what am doing. When it is time, i just have this natural feeling that makes me know it is time for solat. I do not enjoy my food unntil i have observed my solat, there4, i observe my solat first b4 eating. All the same, i still believe i have to improve upon the promptness of observation. MAY ALLAH ALMIGHTY make it easy for ALL OF US MUSLIMS. |
Mad Cow: Those Jets are very expensive o!! LOL, u are a mad cow indeed. hope u will not let this talent die. ![]() |

Afro_Blue: All Roads (power) Lead To RomeThat is quiet interesting. Funny enough some people will come here and discredit everything. |
andrewza: America dose not care about iran. They care about (cheap) oil. A strong Iran could bully Saudi Arabia, Iraqa, kuwait extra. This will affect there cheap oil. Iran is no threat to America they not even a threat to Israel unless they suicidal (Israel could nuke every single major city in the middle east if they want to) and really the arab leaders want the USA to intervene that why they let them base F22 in there countries. They would never admit it but they want iran to be wiped out. There is no black and white in Geo politics just grey. This, i will nt disagree wif you. The issue is "why should the US be so selfish and greedy to the extend of sacrificing world peace in order to satisfy its greed. Should they always get anything and everything even by force. If other world powers should act like this, then world peace will be a mirage. They seem not be sit down sometime and take stock of their actions and genuine world reactions to these actions. This world about, live and lets live concept. |
noblezone: You know it is much convenient and satisfying to blame the slave trade darkness on the Americans without mentioning the part played by our fore fathers who accepted "kai kai" and snuff in exchange for thier fellow kinsmen. |
okosodo: it is arabs that disturb world peace by constant bombings. it amazing hw some people draw conclusion, open your eyes man. |
@ kokosheen(m): 6:22pm On Aug 03 Gees!!! This was what I was planning to post before opening the video on a new tab: "OP, though I didn't watch the clip but I'm skeptical because its a Press TV thingy (news network owned by the state-owned media corporation Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB))... Its all just propaganda." I understand that feelin, bt, in order for us as human to be objective, we need to look at things more clearly without prejudices and presumptuous, at times where you least expert to find good info is where u might find it. One thing i've learn when it comes to world polities, is that one needs to be open minded and listen very attentively before you conclude and talk. God help and protect us from this arrogant power. |

It is high time america realise that great nations have come and disappear, prosperity will one day judge US for all their actions. |
It can be seen from this short clip below that, america is bent on going to war with iran no matter what happens. Lets all pray this does not happen, i am tried of america wars. they are either going to war or instigating others to go to war and then support them directly and indirectly. America have to stop and rather promote peace round the world. http://www.presstv.com/detail/2012/08/02/254134/paul-act-of-war-on-iran-us-obsession/ God help us all. |
Dis is confirm. I pray God in His infinite mercy will grant him peace and forget him all his short comings. He was a very humble, effective and loving presido. He empowered the youths, always advocating for peace and brotherliness, not the get power by fire by force politicians we have in africa. That is not to say he was perfect, but, he was better than most Africa leaders. He was too selfless and accommodating to a fault. You need to come to ghana and see hw some people just go on radio station talk rubbish of their president and u will understand what im saying. They say what they like abt the president live on radio station and get away with it. I can say it without any contradiction that ghana will not get any president like him for a long time. REST IN PEACE PRESIDENT JOHN EVANS FIFII ATTAH MILLS !!! |
