"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."

Did Jesus NOT know what Bartimeus wanted? Of course He did but Bartimeus still had to ask. "The LORD our God has secrets known to no one" wink

Vanneni: What you should say is that anything you love too much and which takes your attention of God to yourself should be done away with. There are many women/ladies who are so in love with jewelries and bodily ornaments.

I agree. I remember sometime last year when we had an event in the church. I asked a 'sister' if she would be attending. Her response? "That's the day I do my hair ojare. My hair is very important to me. I spend a lot of money on it" True story.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Why A Married Muslim Woman MUST Keep Her Father's Last Name? by OmoAlata(f): 2:55pm On Jan 31, 2013
rbjimoh: Therefore, if you adopt a male child and change his surname to yours, thereby absolving him as though he is your biological son, by implication, he cannot marry any woma your real bioligical son cannot marry. By that, Islam says he has been denied or he has denied himself or forbids for himself what Allah has made lawful for him

Oh I see. Thanks for explaining.

onatisi: does Christianity believe or preach about ghosts?i am somewhat confused here

I don't know anything about this Celica church but in the Bible somewhere in Matthew, when Jesus went on top of Mount transfiguration to pray, Moses and Elijah appeared unto Him (both Moses and Elijah were dead at this time) wink

tbaba1234: Whoever claims to belong to people to whom he has no ties of blood, let him take his place in Hell.”

I'm not a Moslem but I have a question. How does the above text relate to adoption? Do Moslems adopt? I don't know how it is in Nigeria but over here, once you adopt a child, the child has the same rights as your biological kids and either you like it or not e.g. if you split up with the child's mother (if you adopted your wife's child), you are still legally responsible for the child.

Religion / Very Inspiring Song - Listen To The Words by OmoAlata(f): 10:36pm On Jan 28, 2013

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmQBshQ11uo

There will be mountains that I will have to climb
And there will be battles that I will have to fight
But victory or defeat, it's up to me to decide
But how can I expect to win If I never try.

I just can't give up now
I've come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
and I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me

Never said there wouldn't be trials
Never said I would't fall
Never said that everything would go the way I want it to go
But when my back is against the wall
And i feel all hope is gone,
I'll just lift my head up to the sky
And say help me to be strong

I just can't give up now
I've come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
and I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me

No you didn't bring me out here to leave me lonely
Even when I can't see clearly
I know that you are with me(so I can't)

I just can't give up now
I've come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
and I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me

onetrack: Last year Gore Vidal died after a lifetime of condemning God and declaring widely his contempt for religion. He was 87 and died peacefully. So much for this theory of the OP.

Died peacefully Vidal died of complications from pneumonia.

Pneumonia complications may include:

Bacteria in your bloodstream.
Septic shock.
Fluid accumulation and infection around your lungs.
Lung abscess.
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Blacks and Whites are the same. The only difference is where a person is brought up and the religion he follows. Blacks are simply more religious.

Further than religion, we have Yoruba/igbo/traditional ninjas like yourself that have this fear of babalawo and blood due to some superstition. Azzholes that wont donate anything based on some traditional superstition

Why do you need to insult? Is your vocabulary that limited? I was brought up in London fyi and I'm still saying that blacks in the UK don't NOT give blood due to religion but simply because we can't be bovvered. Same reason why most of us don't vote. You see, you can get your point across without insults wink
