I think Ibadan's new found development is gradually taken shape. There are certain projects going on in the background. I'm happy this present government is taken the Ibadan issue seriously. The city used to have a lot of things in the past but negligence destroyed all that. Hopefully, we're getting back to our pacesetting best. Things are happening. Watch this space!

I don't think religion has got anything to do with who u'll date or marry. Those that are talking about someone being an unbeliever are not real. I've yet to see a disastrous marriage caused by differences in faith. Talk to your aunty & let her know u care for your muslim boyfriend. Tell her u're old enough to make decisions for yourself. Also discuss religion issue with your muslim boyfriend if u have any concern regarding faith. What u need in a relationship is love, patience, sacrifice & a whole lot of endurance. Marriage isn't a stroll in the park.

There are two ongoing mall projects in Ibadan. The one that is closer to completion is the Heritage Mall behind Cocoa House at Dugbe. The second one is the mall at Ring Road. It's called Ibadan Mall. I think Shoprite is going to be at the Heritage Mall. It's good Kwara Mall has opened in ilorin. It's a good development for the city & State. No need to be fighting on which city is better than the next.

I don't know what they see before making Ibadan one of 5 African cities to watch. But what a lot of Nigerians don't see when it comes to any Nigerian cities beside Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt is the enormous potential other States/Cities have. Ibadan, the sleeping giant of Africa is gradually waking up from her slumber. Do people actually think the Financial Times will just pluck any city from thin air? Ibadan is building secretly and if people think the aesthestics of the city right now is the reason why they're dismissing the report, then they don't know anything about their own country. Most of the negative response is from people who can't see past their noses. This should be treated as a bit of good news but what I see is silliness. Typical of Nigerians. Keep seeing brown roofs on your way to Lagos and when foreigners start making billions off you, you go dey complain. Open your eyes people!

First things 1st, Hubert Ogunde can't be called d founder of Nollywood. But he's one of d pioneers of Nigerian films. Now, calling Nigerian films done before 1992 Nollywood is disrespectful to true filmmakers like Ola Balogun, Ogunde, Eddie Ugbona, Ade Love, Baba Sala etc. The name Nollywood has now been use to mean all Nigerian films. I believe that's wrong. Nollywood use to be cheap, fast made, terribly scripted, no direction filmmaking! For those that are saying Nollywood started with a marketer at Onitsha in 1992, you're correct. That's when d period of crappy filmmaking began. Nigeria film & Nollywood are two different things. One is quality the other is quantity!

We never know. It all depends on who succeeds Fashola. If the next ACN candidate doesn't excite Lagosians, maybe PDP or any other party might stand a chance. Its a big 'IF' though. I like the idea of Pat Utomi as Governor as well. But Nigeria is set up politically in a way that only someone from the State's tribe can govern that State.

If u're open minded u should enjoy Ibadan. The mistake people make is to compare it with Lagos. What u need is a companion that knows the city & u're good to go. The Heritage Mall in Dugbe hasn't open yet but there are many places to check out eg 411, Ebevande, Options 24/7, Bubble Plus, Swagx & the many amala joints. I wish u the best! Enjoy!

I only wanted to comment because of the guy that turned this into a tribal bashing fest. Some people are just silly. My sincere apology to the Ibo people. He doesn't represent the Yorubas or any tribe for that matter. On Gov Fashola's use of the phrase 'village'. I think it sounds somehow. He should've just say anyone that falls foul of the traffic law will be punished. That sounds better.

Religion is only important for bigots & intolerant people. Looking at what most of you are saying, goes to show how intolerant the world is. Love conquers all but only if you're willing to sacrifice. I see most people just want it easy. Hang on, I thought you people serve the same God? Abi I'm mistaken?

There are plenty differences but they are both pointing to the same thing. Its funny how people of similar religious background are always going in different directions. Christians forget their believe is an extention of Judaism. An Hebrew faith. Have you African Christian ever thought about why the Islamic religion is widely followed in the middle East the same birth place of Christianity? You people might think you're serving a different God, but to the world you're both serving the same entity.

I think most of the comments here reeks of ignorance & to a certain degree 'bad belle'. I think some people here are angry because the line is going to Ibadan. I can understand their grievances. Ibadan has been quiet & partly underdeveloped for the past decade or so. But what they fail to realise is that the city is still d biggest in West Africa. Its still the 3rd largest populated city in Nigeria. Brown rusty roof doesn't make it any less viable. Its still 10 times more viable than 98% of the cities & states in Nigeria. Someone was even referring to the people as racist because they wont succumb to your stupidity. You people are jokers! The government knows the Lagos - Ibadan project is an important one. So, keep your grudges for GEJ because Ibadan doesn't give a flying phuck!

Really most of u guys sound like religious bigots. The reason why there's always tension in the world. Some of u were talking like the guy is a card carrying member of Boko Haram. What's wrong with u people? I think religion has run its course if this is the rubbish we'll be exposed to. @ OP, What's wrong with your children growing up as a muslim? Besides, the husband's religion usually takes precedence. U need not worry about your future kids being muslims. At least they're closer in faith with christianity. I'm sure your boyfriend is a moderate. Moderate muslims aren't forceful. Trust me, trying to judge the happiness of a marriage with your yet unborn children's religious affilliation isnt cool.

I dont know why any tribe will need a leader. Leader to do what? The Yorubas, I'm sure didn't ask for anyone to rule them. They just want their state governors to do their jobs well. End of story.

I'm a private person when it comes to my phone. No one is privy to it except me. My wife can't & shouldn't pick my calls or read my messages. That's not cool. There are certain things that you might want to keep from her. And that's not other females o! But some other sensitive stuff.

The Ibadan malls are under construction. The first Mall should be opened in a year or so.

OP, I'm not gonna condemn you. You and the guy are matured people. What I'll say is carry on with the relationship until you're strong enough to pull away. Since you're not ready to settle down now, I see no reason why you shouldn't enjoy a loving relationship with the married man. What some people failed to realise is that the guy enjoys the relationship as well. These things happen all the time. You just need to handle it well (which you're doing) and be prepared (emotionally), for when it ends. Good luck.

See how people are happy someone broke up with her boyfriend because of religion. Sad. I don't share in their sentiments at all. I believe its silly. You guys loved each other for better for worse & then had to terminate a beautiful thing because of religion. Don't you think the good thing about life is tolerance. You guys should've learned to accept each other's faith & try to come to a mutual arrangement. Being in a relationship with someone of the same faith doesn't guarantee happiness. It's funny how some Christians who call Muslims fanatics, will read any article that questions their religion and start spewing vile rubbish. Isn't that two-faced? The Bible, if you must know, is an inconsistent book. It was put together by some people in an European city. That means there were certain scriptures that were ignored. On that basis alone, we can't come here and dismissed any story just because you're a Christian but because we've seen the facts!

From what I can deduce from this topic, increasing tuition fees at LASU won't be a bad thing. But increasing it ten fold is a bit harsh and slightly unrealistic. People are saying the institution needs money to improve. Of course. But they won't be getting that from those used to paying N25,000 per session. And for people to think rich students will flock to LASU because they've increased their tuition fee are misled. The educational structure in Naija is done in such a way that rich students won't even consider going to public universities except private ones. The only way they'll be interested is if after many years of investments, the university becomes world renowned in some scientific work or something then people will want to come. Just increasing the fees dramatically now might not necessary bring about the desired result. A gradual inncrease should've been the wisest choice.

I think the modern generations are the one turning it into a big deal. There have been many successful relationships between Muslims & Christians. People nowadays tend to take religion too serious. If you really love someone, religion doesn't matter. If the husband is a Muslim, the wife can still continue with her Christianity. Both of them just need to respect each other. That's it. If you think religion is gonna be a big issue, then cut off the relationship before it gets serious!

$ugardaddy, my friend, you've said what should be said in the real world. Some people are just using this forum to give unrealistic advice to the Op. This world isn't as straightforward as they think. Even though you need common sense, it sometime isn't straightforward. The girl is just reacting to whatever feeling she's having towards those married guys. She's yet to decide. And as per young girls & married men, I don't think any advice under the sun can change that. I know, you all know, that it's part & parcel of our modern existence. In Naija, it's even harder to change because people don't really see anything wrong with it as such. Morally, it seem not right but life is morally not right. We pick & choose whatever enhances our survival. If you look at young girls in the developed countries, they don't seem to engage in such acts. That's probably down to many factors eg financial comfortability, availability of social needs & cultural enlightenment. But that doesn't necessary mean those girls aren't dating married men. It's just not as much as we find in Naija. Bottomline is, religiously, morally, dating a married man might be wrong but logically it might be right. It's up to the individual.

I know you guys are trying to advice the lady in the most 'morally right' way but you're just living in a dream world. Have you ever been to Naija? Do you think it's that simple? Married men are not all potbellied sex maniacs! I understand morally the situation seems wrong but we live morally corrupt world and this things do happen! If the Op says no, some other single girl will say yes. So, I suggest we should leave all that religious crap for Sunday worship because in the real world single girls do going out with married men & vice versa! Let her leave her life they way she wants. I agree with most of the comments regarding this type of schemes. I understand this type of scheme had already been tried in other states and it seem nothing has come out of it. I sincerely hope this isn't the case with Oyo State. The government should try and tell us what exactly those employed will be doing. We desperately need to start seeing great things in the state! 'Oyo si ma dun!'

Why are people antagonising the move? At least, they're getting them off the unemployment queue. They'll be getting paid won't they? Let's be optimistic sometimes as a people. We have to learn how to be patient and see where whatever initiatives the government has come up with, will go. We can't continue to be negative all the time!

I think it's just a silly idea. What's it for? I think it's one of those Lagos idiotic projects. Lagos is the size of our street in Ibadan! Why wold they want to carve out another tiny area out of it for?
