@AbX1 what size of earthen pond do u recommend |
robonski15: I use ziegler for the first three months then I switch to vital feed for the rest two months...@ robonski thanks am starting wt juveniles what feed size shd i start wt and when do i change d size |
excelsiorfarm: raising grow out and the most essential of fish farming had already being made simple in the manual, if you are patience enough and read with graphic pic of the hatching section, you don't need to even ask, because many had gone ahead to use it and start hatchery, you can go see in a real training, though I know many might not like this, but send your email so I can send you a vid that starts from the stripping and ask me questions, are u from ogbomoso?Am not frm Ogbomoso bt schooled there its an ideal place to start farmin due to low level of risk when compared to Lagos where u can b duped coupled wt few farming spaces. |
@robonski what kind of feed do u use ie durante, coppens etc and do u use formulateds feeds and at what month do u harvest(i.e juvenile fishes). |
@excelsiofarm I av been busy all ds while planning on hw to start my farm in Ogbomoso. I just finished reviewin ur manual on catfish farming ds morning. It is really nice and helpful bt not dt elaborate i.e the hatching process shd have been supported with pictures just as u showed diff pictures of ponds. |
robonski15: Hi, u can start with a thousand fish,of which u can feed them comfortably till maturity with the available facility..After your first harvest u can increase your stocking...I need clarifications someone gave me a feasibility study what is the present price of 1.8mm and 2mm floating feeds and what is d average cost of feed to raise 500 juveniles to grow out. |
Am an Alumni of LAUTECH and know dt d sku ranks top among d d sku wt yahoo boys wc later translated to yahoo+ doin all manner of fetish things to make money. Anybody can be a victim its just d grace of God |
Musa babu lakaye all run and does nt use his brain. I wonder what keshi wants to achieve wt players like babatunde and Akpala |
AdoOloro: It depends on your location bro,on point u are one of d few ppl practicisin business man. Running a business is not moi moi tinz its a risky venture dt may even take u out of your present job if it outgrow your expectation |
@excelsiofarm Happy Birthday Day to a great man may u continue to be a blessing to your generation. My mail is lekelee20@yahoo.com i nid d fish manual |
@excelsiofarm you are on point just as we knw in livestock foundational stock is important so also in fishery buyin a juveline as u said must b 5-7 inches bt to get a sincere farmer dt will sell healthy and quality fingerlins/juvenile. Pls continue to educate us on hatchery. |
excelsiorfarm: i always like when people write, but always remember this adage d wise man speaks when there is something to say,but a fool because he or she must say something,by d grace of God i have being prospering & will continue to prosper, check my associatn on my facebk timeline,as samuel said if he had taken anything from anyman@excelsiofarm I dont think d guy was referring to u he was talkin abt d guy u helped set up d farm dt refused to pay u. Its a problem among we frm d southwest we plead dt Egbon, aburo help me afteral u are my brother bla bla bla. Concernin d manuals i myself am sorry for askin u in d past for free. I realised dt its an intellectual property and must be paid for(wc i believed you av even revealed some of d contents thru ds thread). You dont value wat u dont pay d price for. We must approach business professionally and give value for money wc is also d resean ppl under value our services believin whatever is frm Nigeria is nt worth d price bt we pay more for foreign services wc also are overpriced sometimes due to our mentality. |
@excelsiofarm Nice one! Appearance does not matter because money changes ppl what av lent frm your post is dt before givin out goods payment shd be made or aleast a downpayment wc covers atleast 50% of cost wc reduces risk |
excelsiorfarm: A blessed week to u all & this month shall produce great result for all us in Jesus Name,Amen, based on omode2 request on human relation with your clients for positive biz & to avoid pitfall,i will share some of my experiences & u can shares too(many can learn from it)Thanks Sir for your responses and for taking your time to invest in the lives of ppl most of wc u av never met. Expectin d experiences on "street sense". |
@excelsiofarm I have been able to read the thread frm beginning to end and i believed u have been able to do justice to alot of things esp d technical aspect of some business ideas coupled with motivational and basic principles dt makes business succeed like integrity etc. I want you to focus on d human relation aspect because d greatest diff resources to manage is human beings. Like hw to negotiate wt clients dealing wt ppl who are not as educated as u are. Getting trusted ppl. Pls i want you to share more of your business experiences wt ppl on DOs n DONTs so we can learn frm it. |
@Ab1x thanks for d info planning of setting up d pond very soon I hope u and robonski will continue to mentor green horn like me. |
Omexonomy: Let them go and invest in farming with whatever they are paid. Most of them are used to famboyant lifestyles. Do u think farming is moimoi? If u are not patient u cant succed and farming has gone beyond planting maize or yams it involves technical skills and expertise. |
robonski15: management practices differs from farm to farm.. I record different mortality rate with the same management practices at different stocking, though minimal.. But the least i have recorded was 4 death out of 3000 juvenile for 5 month.. I guess u should give them good management and find out on your own.. Thanksthanks but frm d farm pix u posted u use concrete ponds does d mortality rate differ btw concrete and earthen pond? |
excelsiorfarm: if indeed they are juveniles i.e 5-7 inches in length, under good water management & adequate feeding(not over or under feeding),give antistress after every sorting,no overcrowding .the mortality rate will be less or equal to 5 to 6%.pls shed light on sorting because i intend using earthen pond |
@robonski thanks for ur good work. What shd be d likely mortality rate for juvenile of 1000 fishes under good mgt practices. |
@exelsiofarm thanks for ur good work. What shd be d likely mortality rate for juvenile of 1000 fishes under good mgt practice. |
excelsiorfarm: i enjoy your confidence, but i have to tell you that if you have any question on having a successful fish farm.you can ask me.about given manual, not only at d beginning of d thread, even in march i still gave out some, only thing is Nigerians will hardly come out to speak of what they benefit(since i have more offline people asking for one assistance or d othI just tried my luck wc i believed there is nothing bad in tryin u either get a yes or no. The website will be a good idea cos u will be fair to everybody tru dt medium. Expecting it soonest! |
@excelsiofarm i know u have done it in the beginning of ds thread wc u said has closed i need d fish farming ebook @ no fee! |
