FoodRe: Hausa Food by omoge(f): 1:04pm On Aug 12, 2008
almost all the soups are greenish (dried vegetables). dawadawa is very essential  wink (i once hated the smell but i started bitting a little bit of it and chew like they do. . . it's not too bad  grin. it's nice in soups but too  lipsrsealed grin. Goose goose, Pete and Acha are meals I know to have bright color (vegetable oil and tomatoes made it so i guess.

Yakuwa, kerikeshi, kuka etc all greenish/darkish but tasty. they hardly or don't use Palm oil in their cooking. ALL vegetable oil. Made sense though (groundnut Pyramid remember that? wink

then i think Okpee is worst than dawadawa though.

i love the Zogole salad the most.
Overall, i love Hausa soups and their soft tuwon.

what i posted was for if you want to make liquid soyabean. to make powder one, i get my soyabean, pick out anything odd and then blend it till it is very smooth. then i sieve or filter it wink
FoodRe: How To Prepare Soyabeans by omoge(f): 4:03pm On Jul 23, 2008
soya milk:

put enough water in a pot and bring to boil. take it off the stove
pour your dry soya bean inside
leave for some time to let it soak
then wash like you do your bean when u want to make moimoi
after the skin are all out, blend till smooth.

now sieve and pour the into a pot and cook
do not cover the pot (the steam will pour out)
keep turning it with an eba turner
let it cook till you could feel some thick/dry paste under the pot (maybe after 1 hour)

when it is done, take off the stove and let it cool. your milk is ready

i did mine this way a good friend from Kaduna taught me this,  wink
