manutdadex:You are right. seriously, sometimes I fear for the future because of the orientation of our youth this days. some here on nairaland lack the ability to discern information before reacting to them. They follow political parties blindly without thinking that these parties do not fight the other opposition for the good of the common man.To you APC AND PDP suppoters, how many times has your party ever criticize the other party and the system of the outrageous salaries and benfitit they collect on a monthly basis? How many times has other APC members call for the reversal of the huge pension benefit for all Lagos state governors and their families that they will get after they leave office?. That was why they were silent over Governor Akpabio Pension benefit which was later reverse because APC is guilty of the same thing. Thirdly, we have been shouting and calling on our legislatures and other government officials to cut down on their huge salaries and allowances, how many times has the APC party launch out to criticize this issue since they are very good in Criticize almost everything. They will remain silent over this because they are also benefiting from the rot and corrupt practices in this areas but would cry to the high heaven for trivial things that are of no benefit to the citizens. Yet, some ignorant youth will be here supporting them and even ready to die for them. You GUYS better think of what you are doing right now and start realizing that APC and PDP are the same thing. They are partners in crime when its time for money sharing since together they at peace with the wrong outrageous policy that allows them to collect urge salaries , allowances and pensions at the expense of the Nigerian citizens but are enemies outside this areas. My fellow youth Open you eyes and stop mortgaging your future and that our our children for a cheap pot of porridge. |
mundus:SO EE DEY PAIN ABI! WHEN ALL U APC WERE BUSY DOWN PLAYING THE GOOD WORK OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND OVER HYPING THEIR WEAKNESS AND GO AS FAR AS LYING JUST TO INCITE THE PEOPLE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WILL BE ANGRY WHEN YOUR APC PEOPLE WILL ARE BEING TREATED THE SAME WAY. I BEGINNING TO SEE THAT THE LEVEL OF CRITICISM RECEIVED BY JONATHAN ADMINISTRATION CANNOT NEVER BE TOLERATED BY APC. |
President Jonathan all the way. Buhari is a no no. We don't need any religious bigot and a tribal leader to lead Nigeria.Except there is a better option to president Jonathan. |
Nigerian why do you rejoice over another country's down fall. How would you feel if another African country rejoices over our economic problems . if you guys were in the village, dem for don tag una as WINCH!!!. HABA!! BLACK MAN AND THEIR WAY OF THINKING. How can Africa ever Develop with so much hate and jealousy among us.If we we are not at each others neck for one issue or the other to proof supriority, then we are rejoicing over another African's country's down fall. This advise also goes to you Ghanians. I hope you see how painful it is when another African country talk badly of your country, but it easy for your guys to badmouth another Africans country woes. So don't do to others what you wouldn't tolerate or feel good about when the-same thing is done to you. |
I m friend want to buy new keke . She is trying to get one that is durable. What is the cheapest prices we she can get?In Lagos. |
Gbawe:how much APC dey pay you? |
which APC? You mean those bunche of hypocrites that will be nice to you just a few days to election and turn against you right after you have given them your vote. APC KE!. TUFIAKWA! I would rather vote a known enemy PDP than those hypocrites that tries very hard to portray themselves as people's servant while they are lord unto themselves. A party that does not have a clear cut ideology, a party that is ready to drag the whole country down just because of power, a party that sees white and calls it black because it belong to an opposition party,Is it the media's manipulation and twisting of peoples psych by always analyzing news from a bias points of view. Thus, anything that will indict the any APC is down played while that of the federal government is over hyped and twisted to suit their purpose by heating up the polity. A party that promote thuggery and turn their face to the other side when this thug becomes lawless, extorting money from this same citizens you are asking for their vote.A party that knows no shame, perpetuate corruption and tolerate it as long it from the same party, a party that would cohort with international media to bring down the morals and reputation of our army and the country and boost that of the her enemy(BOKO HARAM). So many things to say. I will never vote for APC unless there is a drastic change their style & orientation of leadership ( This is the same view from many of my friends that first believed in this party). The day APC wins the presidency just know that most Ikoyi land would be owned by TINUBU. . I use to be a fan of APC at the begining but not anymore. |
because there no better alternative for now. |
How Mbazulike Amaechi hid Mandela from apartheid regime in Nigeria on December 07, 2013 / in Mandela Watch, remembering mandela, Special Report 2:08 am / Comments BY VINCENT UJUMADU ONE of the few surviving nationalists and former Minister of Aviation in the first republic, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi has revealed how he hid the foremost South African nationalist and former president of South Africa, Chief Nelson Mandela for six months in Nigeria to evade his arrest by officials of the apartheid regime in that country. Amaechi, who spoke with Vanguard at his Ukpor country home in Nnewi South local government area of Anambra State said people like Mandela are great assets to humanity and should not be going through the pains of life. Amaechi Amaechi The former minister, popularly known as ‘the boy is good’, said it was a privilege to him being asked to live with Mandela when he ran away from the apartheid regime and came to Nigeria in 1963, adding that they shared great moments during the six months plus Mandela lived in his house. According to Amaechi, even when Mandela returned to South Africa and was sentenced to life imprisonment, he still wrote him letters from prison, showing how appreciative he is. The interview with Amaechi on Mandela went thus: PRESENTLY, the foremost South African nationalist, Nelson Mandela, is sick and in the hospital. We want to know if you had any relationship with him in the past or an encounter? Yes, he was the leader of the Africa National Congress, ANC. He led the group that struggled for democracy in South Africa. That was the time of the apartheid regime in South Africa and when the British government was desperately looking for him to imprison him; he ran away from South Africa and took refuge in Nigeria. That was when the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was the President of Nigeria and late Dr. Michael Okpara the Premier of the Eastern Region. When Mandela came to Nigeria, Zik as the leader of the nationalist group in Nigeria in consultation with Okpara decided that they should find a nationalist of Mandela’s caliber who would accommodate him. So they called on me to take Mandela and accommodate him. At that time, I was the parliamentary secretary and also a member of the parliament before I became a minister. He moved in to my house and stayed for about six or more months with me and my wife. I was then newly married while he was in his early 40’s or so. We used to go out together and both the British intelligence and the South African intelligence services knew that he was with me, but there was nothing they could do about it because I was in government. Then, after sometime, during our discussions, he said: “My stay here, how long will it last? “I think I better return to South Africa. They will either kill me or send me to prison and it will spur the other nationalists remaining to continue with the struggle. So, after about six or seven months in my house, he decided to move back to South Africa. When he went back, he was promptly arrested, charged and sentenced to life imprisonment. He went to prison, but the nationalism in him did not depart from him. He continued doing his best for some of his colleagues. He wrote me a letter from prison asking me to find employment for one Dr. Barange. Barange’s father was a lawyer who defended the nationalists in a previous case, while Barange himself was a geologist. The apartheid people in South Africa were seriously looking for him and so Mandela wanted him to get out of South Africa. I was able to get a job for Dr. Barange at the University of Ife as a senior lecturer in Geology. Mandella wrote me from prison. In fact when you called that you were coming, I went to my office to search for this letter. This is the letter he wrote me from the prison on the 18th of February, 1964, he signed the letter as Nelson Mandela, prisoner No 116570/63. Then during his 74th birthday, he was still in prison, I joined his family to send him goodwill messages. When he came out from prison, I wrote him too. When he came to Nigeria after his release, he specifically requested to see me and Dr. Azikiwe. So, when he came to Enugu, the then governor, Col. Robert Akonobi, because we were in military rule then, wrote me to say Mandela wanted to see me. I honoured the invitation and I went to Enugu with my wife to see him. He was in the company of his former wife, Winnie. We shared some time together before he went back to South Africa. After that visit in 1993, have you been communicating with him? Yes, my last letter to him was on 18th November, 1993. Since the last letter, have two of you been communicating? No. We have not spoken to each other again. When he was appointed the President of South Africa, I was invited to his inauguration ceremony, but the military here did not allow me to go. They said I needed clearance to go and I did not get it. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/mbazulike-amaechi-hid-mandela-apartheid-regime-nigeria/#sthash.AUUPnTU3.dpuf |

omenka:SOMETIMES I WONDER IF YOU ARE UP TO THE AGE OF 18.I BELIEVE YOU ARE A 16 YEARS OLD,OR AN UNEMPLOYED , PICKED UP BY POLITICAL JOBBERS FOR THEIR ONLINE PROPAGANDA. ARE YOU A NIGERIAN OR A FOREIGNER. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH SOME NIGERIANS(SHOULD I SAY MEDIOCRE) . LACK OF SENSE TO DISCERN INFORMATION NOR MAKE RESEARCH ON ISSUES BEFORE TYPING INFORMATION TO DAMAGE YOUR COUNTRY'S IMAGE.THEN, TOMORROW YOU WILL CRY TO THE SAME COUNTRY TO FIGHT FOR YOU WHEN THIS WICKED SOUTH AFRICANS ARE MALTREATING YOU. JUST PRAY THIS COUNTRY DOES NOT PLUNGE INTO CRISIS BY YOUR PAID MASTER; I BELIEVE THE FEW COINS THAT WAS PAID TO YOU TO CONTRIBUTE IN CREATING THE PROBLEM WILL SAVE YOU WHEN YOUR OTHER AFRICAN BROTHERS WILL SHOW THEIR TRUE COLORS IN YOUR VULNERABLE SITUATION.THEN YOU WILL REMEMBER THERE WAS A COUNTRY THAT YOU ONCE USED TO CRY TO WHEN THE WOLVES FROM ASIDE(SOUTH AFRICANS) COMES TO DEVOUR YOU. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE UNTIL YOU LOOSE.THIS STATEMENT IS TO ALL YOU PARTY E WARRIORS THAT ARE HERE TO BRING THIS COUNTRY DOWN, WHOSE INTEREST ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR.IS IT TO DESTROY NIGERIA OR BUILD NIGERIA? |
I hate South Africa and it citizens, they all reason alike.I am yet to see anyone that has that brotherly love for their other African nation.wicked set of human beings that should have continue to perish under the apathetic regime. South African, one day, your cup will full , just have it in mind that no man is an island.Keep on embarrassing us and playing to the tune of your slave masters that chooses to turn their face to the the other side during those trying times.I dislike you guys with passion. I have hearing of how some our Innocent Nigerians are being maltreated tagged as criminal even before they proof their innocence. shame on you people. shame shame on you. I feel very sorry for our Nigeria brother that are marrying your ladies. I don't know what they are looking for in the territories where they are highly disliked. I HATE YOU PEOPLE.I WOULD RATHER CHOOSE TO RELATE WITH YOUR WHITE CITIZEN OVER YOU. FROM YOUR ACTIONS, YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT A FRIEND OF NIGERIA. |
PapiWata:who cares really. please stop deluding yourself that the USA is a bed of roses,People have now realized that. sorry Nigerians would rather spend quality time making a good living here than the US . The ones that scramble for your visa and ready to sleep in ur embassy or tolerate your embassy arrogant staff are the ones that are tired of Nigeria and don't have anything doing here. There is nothing special about your country.Apart from the system that is working, nothing else.People with bad mannerism, racism among black and white , no proper family structure, so many teenage baby mamas and gay marriages all about the place. the country is ricked with moral decadence, loose nut going around shooting at schools and military base when ever they are depress.who want to go there and stay for life. keep feeling cool with your self. Come to Nigeria and see foreigner from all over in world ; nobody is making a big deal out of it, so get over yourself and your arrogance. Nigeria has its own share or problems so does America and it only normal for human being to move and from place to place to get succor . |
AdannayaBella:You guys just dont get it. Patrick Sawyer knew he had it because he was sickly already before boarding the plane to Nigeria. moreover, he was asked not leave country but he did, because was either in denial or wanted to confirm his status from Nigeria according to his wife; without any sense of safety in his heart. Mr Duncan was in America and did not know he had Ebola he even went to the clinic in the state that he was sick and was given drugs for relief. instead of you guys to blame the negligent of on the part of the American nurse and hospital that knew he came from Liberia so that he can be put him on red alert, you are only blaming the guy that did not know what he had until it started developing symptom while in America. So SAWYER AND DUNCAN CASES ARE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT BROUGHT EBOLA INTO NIGERIA AND AMERICA WITH DIFFERENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE SICKNESS IN THEIR HEART. |
donnypool:SORRY.It was meant for PAPIWATA |
PapiWata:GOD! YOU ARE FILLED UP WITH SO MUCH HATE ALREADY, CALM DOWN.TWO THINGS HERE. SAWYERS KNEW HE HAD THE VIRUS AFTER HIS SISTER DIED OF IT SINCE HE WAS HER CARE-GIVER , HE INTENTIONALLY CAME TO NIGERIA FOR AN ECOWAS MEETING WHILE HE ALREADY STARTED DEVELOPING EBOLA SYMPTOMS. WHILE DUNCAN ON THE OTHER HAND, HELPED A LADY THAT LATER HAD EBOLA UNKNOWINGLY TO HIM AND NEVER DEVELOP ANY SYMPTOM TILL HE CAME TO THE STATE;ANALYSE ISSUE BEFORE SPILLING THIS HATE WORDS. BESIDE YOU CAN DO IT IN AN AMERICAN FORUM WHERE EVERY ONE FEELS THE SAME WAY LIKE YOU, AFTER ALL WHEN THIS ISSUE HAPPEN WE HAD TO DO IT IN A NIGERIA SITE AND NOT ON AMERICAN FORUM BECAUSE THEY WONT UNDERSTAND HOW WE FELT BACK THEN BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT IN OUR SHOES.TRY AND BE CIVIL IN YOUR WRITE-UP |

I think married men should try and zip up where single women are concerned. This is because they have made a vow before God and man not to defile the matrimonial bed but what you see around are married guys without wedding rings going about chasing single ladies like they were still bachelors. There was one cute guy that use to look at me when ever I am returning from work because we always pass the same rout home.He didn't have a ring on his finger, so I presumed him to be a single man.He had this look on his face whenever he steers at me that give me the impression he is interested in me. He smiles and want to catch up with me when ever he sees me so we could greet and say hi to each other. Since he happens to be an attractive guy i was automatically warming up to him and started smiling back at him when ever he steers at me admiringly. The day he summon the courage to tell me he like me that he is attracted to me that was when i knew he was married but was not wearing his ring. I asked him why he was flirting while married to another woman; he was speechless. from that day, I automatically tuned my mind from his flirtatious smiles and advances he tries to encourage.. when he steers at me i don't return it anymore nor do i encourage any kind of communication that will give him such chances again, i wont even be his friend because there is some kind of emotion already . Men and women should respect the institution of marriage and play all they want in their bachelorhood/spinsterhood. marriage is a serious institution. There are some things people should drop before saying I do. |

If they really need their own state, then why are they agitating for a position be governor in Delta state. However, i think in all fairness there should be a shift in power to their region. |
Friday, 26 September 2014 00:00 Written by Hendrix Oliomogbe, Asaba Category: Policy & Politics Hits: 13 THE new South-South Vice Chairman of the of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has taken a deeper look into the contentious issue of power shift in his home state, Delta and came with the conclusion that it was the turn of Delta North senatorial district to produce the governor of the state in the forthcoming election in the state. Ojougboh, an Anioma from Agbor, Delta State who spoke in Asaba at a reception organized for him by Anioma Congress was however quick to add that aspirants from other senatorial districts were free to vie for the party’s ticket as power shift was provided for in the1999 Nigerian Constitution. Ojougboh, a former member of the House of Representatives pointed out that the PDP to a large extent agreed with the principle of zoning and that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has reiterated his desire on several occasions that to cede power to Delta North. Still amplifying the need for an Anioma governor in 2015, the South-South Vice-Chairman pointed out that frontline Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark has said also thrown his weight behind the project publicly when he insisted that it was only equitable to have an Anioma son or daughter as the next governor. He also said that PDP BoT chairman, Chief Tony Anenih has expressed it in confidence that he wanted to see an Anioma person being sworn-in as governor on May 29 next year. Buoyed by these assurances, he declared: “The presidency is on track. The leadership of the PDP is also on track. So, it ours to lose, we must therefore key into the project.” While silent on what would happen in the event of an aspirant from either of the two other senatorial districts clinching the party’s ticket, Ojougboh let it be known that no zone can single-handedly produce the governor without the support of the others. He advised: “We need the marriage. We need to look at the voting pattern in past elections and know where the harvest of votes would come from.” He called on all Anioma politicians to put personal interests behind and unite in the course to actualise the governorship ambition, adding that he will do everything legally possible to ensure that power shifts to Delta north in 2015. The Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien lamented that it was cause for concern that Anioma people who have contributed immensely to the development of the country in all sectors still lack political power The monarch renewed the call for the creation of Anioma State, noting that if the age long quest could not be realized before next year’s poll it is only desirable that for justice and equity, a son or daughter of Anioma should occupy the Government House, Asaba. The traditional ruler added: “If political power is added, Anioma would have arrived. We want political relevance in our state and the country at large. We need a state of our own.” |
America should just mind their business because from all indication, they don't mean well for us as a country. starting from the zinmapp drug for Ebola and the blockage of the purchase of arms to fight the Boko Haram.. please, they should go and sit down. They are not our friend rather they are our enemy in disguise;two facet friends. They want to hit our head against one another so that when there is crisis in Nigeria, beyond our control, they will now have a reason to send their troops to divide us more just the way they did in Libya. bloody Hypocrite. Enemy of progress and dark hearted friends. |
SLIDEwaxie: If anyone is still thinking that that slow-thinking-hat-wearing-ugly-smile son of a fisherman will probe anybody, be disappointed in advance! How can you call address your president in that manner when your own party cannot even organize themselves very well. If he is slow in thinking, that means everything in Nigeria will equally be slow. Dont worry, i pray Buhari wins the next election and will see if you will have this liberty to spill out rubbish here. I dont know why Nigerians over stretch the liberty to freedom of expression, Later you will say other countries are treating you like trash when you don't have a single respect for your country and your president. |
