Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo: "Being In Church Is A Must To Secure Your Redemption" by omojeesu(m): 10:25am On Aug 13, 2018
wirinet:
Does assembly of one another have to involve bishop oyedepo? Do you have to go to winners chapel every Sunday and Wednesday before you are deemed to be in the assembly of one another?

What will you call it if 10 people assemble in a house on Sunday morning and praise God and read the bible?
My earlier post:

Church IS NOT, HAS NEVER BEEN & WILL NEVER BE a building, an organisation or location as we have redefined it. Church is family of God anywhere and everywhere. Jesus has simplified "church" as where and when 2 or 3 are gathered in His name be it some home, building, in prison, desert, bush, etc.

We don't go to church. We don't join a church. We are Church!

Jesus is Saviour of the Church = the assembly of God's people. The Church does not nor can save anyone.

sweetilicious:
I am made to understand that righteousness is not salvation.
Anyone can do good, even Satan.

Salvation according to the Bible really is not about doing good. To qualify for salvation you must be 100% good but you and I know that that is impossible (James 2.10; Romans 3.23; Isaiah 64.6, Psalm 14.1-23; etc).

A good moral life is good but it is not enough to save a man. Cornelius and his pious household realised this when Peter presented Jesus to them in Acts chapter 10.

Self Righteousness = filthy rag.

Christ Righteousness freely given to and received by undeserving sinners - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly - truly saves!

My response was to a response to an earlier post of mine to a mazi... on Nairaland. If you had read that you would not need to ask the question you asked me.

No! Assembly of believers has nothing to do with any man including the Bishop, but Jesus for "unto the Lord shall the gathering of His people be"

The gathering of 2 or 3 is already Church in any location even on the moon!

Jesus is Lord!!

Twist it the way it suits you. What the original post said is church as a church. Let me highlite the opening paragraph for you incase you missed it.

Care to twist it more?
I COPIED THE BELOW BECAUSE IT FITS MY RESPONSE:

"Hebrews 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Even those believers that never forsake the assembly of themselves are still having issue with their spiritual growth talkless of you skipping church service..."

If you believe the Bishop meant otherwise, well thats his issue ultimately between him and God.

Let's be careful when we see a speck of dust in someone's eye while 4 fingers are pointing back at us.

Satan has been striking people right inside the church and they die instantly. Should I mention the church collapse at uyo, or the boko haram attacks where Christians are slaughtered regularly?

Jesus by His sufferings, death and resurrection secured our salvation.

But what I believe the Bishop is saying is that we believers should not forsake the assembly of one another so that we can sharpen and encourage and support one another.

Church is family. When someone leaves the family of God he's at risk of exposure to the world and its god, Satan.

Believers need each other. We are sheep and we should stay together with our Shepherd, Jesus, otherwise get attacked by the wolves of this world.

Christianity Etc › Re: What Does Matthew 8:22 Mean By "Let The Dead Bury Their Own Dead"? by omojeesu(m): 10:00am On Aug 12, 2018
It means let those spiritually dead in their sins be preoccupied with the cares and socials of burial ceremonies. Buy you be preoccupied with following me.

Jesus wasn't saying we should not bury our dead but that should not waste / spend time on frivolous things.

[quowte author=CodeTemplar post=70200605]
In Matthew 8:22 Jesus said, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” He was responding to a request from one of His followers who asked to be excused from his responsibilities to “go and bury [his] father” (Matthew 8:21 ).
It might seem that he was asking to make funeral arrangements for his recently deceased father. However, he was actually asking Christ to excuse him from his spiritual responsibilities, so that he could return to live with his aging father until after his father died. Of course, that could mean the disciple would be gone for a long time. It seems he was skirting his spiritual calling and wanted Christ to give His blessing to this action.
Instead, Christ told him to focus on his calling. A better sense of Jesus’ statement would be, “Don’t neglect the high spiritual calling I’ve given you; let the spiritually dead attend to the routine tasks of life.” Certainly, Christ would not forbid the man from attending to the funeral arrangements for his father. Christ Himself went to visit the family of His friend Lazarus after Lazarus’ death—even at great risk of His life (John 11:1-16 ).
God wants us to care for the needs of our families (Mark 7:10-13 ; 1 Timothy 5:8 ), but not to neglect our spiritual calling in the process.

Do you have a Bible of your own? If you do please let me have the EQUIVALENT Bible verses i presented in my post from the version of your own Bible on 'grave' and 'hell'.

Maximus85:
It will be good to educate you a little.

First, that your Bible by the time I'm through with you, you will find another translation.

Hell was never a place of torment until the demons who want you to see God as wicked gave it another meaning and that meaning found it way into your Bible.

The original meaning of Hell is to HIDE or to COVER. I've attached a picture of the Oxford dictionary for you to see. Even in Greek hell was never a place of torment following the original meaning of the word.

Now ask yourself these questions.

If hell was a place of torment, why did Jesus went there?
Why did the righteous man Job prayed to go there?

If we follow the original meaning of the word Hell, we can easily answer these questions because, Jesus died and was buried. He was covered, he was hidden. We can say he went to Hell. The Greek scripture also supports this because hell was rendered as grave, gehenna etc.
Job was tired of his suffering.... He begged to go to hell to rest. If Hell was a place of torment, why would he pray to go there?

Another killer question is, who is in charge of torment in hell?
Hint, this question is a trap. Think well before you respond.

I hope you now know who needs to study his Bible more.

Maximus85:
If you want to go to heaven, it's your choice but you have no right to condemn or criticize those who want to stay here on earth.

Google the root meaning of Hell. Then you will know you're the one in thick darkness.
Correct! Going to either place is a choice. But exactly how have I condemned or criticized them?

Google is not the Bible and, therefore, not an authority for me. Read your Bible very well and you will see the differences.

GRAVE IS A VISIBLE PHYSICAL PLACE ON EARTH. HELL IS NOT ON EARTH. NOTE THE FOLLOWING FROM THE BIBLE:

1) PILLAR SET ON GRAVE NOT HELL

Genesis 35:20 And Jacob SET A PILLAR UPON HER GRAVE: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

2) GRAVE, NOT HELL CAN BE TOUCHED

Numbers 19:16 And whosoever TOUCHETH one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a GRAVE, shall be unclean seven days.

3) PEOPLE HAVE PERSONAL GRAVES NOT PERSONAL HELL

2 Samuel 3:32 And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the GRAVE OF ABNER; and all the people wept.

2 Samuel 19:37 Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, and be buried by the GRAVE OF MY FATHER and of my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.

1 Kings 13:30 And he laid his carcase in HIS OWN GRAVE; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, ....

ABOUT HELL NOTE:

HELL IS A PLACE OF DAMNATION THAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST

Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

PEOPLE ARE CONSCIOUS IN HELL

Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

SOUL GOES TO HELL. BODY DECAY IN GRAVE.

Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

JESUS' SOUL WAS NOT ABANDONED IN HE'LL NOR DID HIS BODY DECAY ON EARTH.

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

HELL IS ASSOCIATED WITH FIRE NOT GRAVE

Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the FIRE that NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED:

Politics › Re: Buhari, APC, Governors Woo Saraki With Juicy Offers - The Nation by omojeesu(m): 8:30am On Jul 21, 2018
IT IS ABOUT THEMSELVES NOT ABOUT US.

sarrki:
There were strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress and governors are considering juicy offers for the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to prevent his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It was learnt that some prominent leaders of the party, especially the coordinator of the reconciliation initiative, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, might be involved in the negotiation with Saraki.

Tinubu was said to have been briefed about the President’s interaction with Saraki and others.

But Saraki, who bowed well for the President after a meeting at the Presidential Villa, was frank in expressing his mind.

He said he felt humiliated by the party he co-founded and the government he jointly put in place with others.

He was solemn in expressing his disappointment to the President and some APC governors.

Investigation conducted by our correspondent revealed that the President and some APC governors met with the Senate President as a follow-up to the talks with New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) caucus of APC being coordinated in the past few months by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

It was gathered that most APC leaders, governors and other members were unhappy that the party was on the verge of losing Saraki to PDP.

They believed that the defection of such a “political heavyweight” to the opposition might affect cohesion in APC for the 2019 poll.

The consequences of a depleted APC impelled some governors and party leaders to broker understanding between the President and Saraki.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “At least, for the first time, there was a frank session between the President and Saraki.

“He expressed disappointment with his humiliation by the government he fought hard to put in place.

“We were all sober while he relived his travails, because none of us would pray to be in such a situation.

“We understood with him but we felt it was time to forgive and forget in order to move forward.

“As part of preventing Saraki’s defection, we may offer him juicy terms including:

.Automatic return as the President of the Senate in 2019

.More consultation and inclusiveness in key decisions henceforth

.Mutual Executive-Legislature relationship

.Revisiting all issues raised by nPDP Caucus which formed the basis of talks in the past few months

.Reconciling with all aggrieved leaders of nPDP

.Avoiding a repeat of past mistakes which led to his humiliation

“We also appeal to Saraki to shelve moves to defect to PDP or any other party. We agreed that he has a better stake in APC than any other party.”

Asked if Saraki made any commitment, the source added: “There was none yet, but the atmosphere was cordial and hopeful.

“After the meeting, he even bowed well to the President.

“The session was the climax of talks in the past few months. As one of our leaders, we leave the final decision to Saraki to take.

“But one thing was clear from Saraki: he will want all commitments put into writing and documented in case of any breach in the future.

“To some of us who have been wooing him, such a demand is in order. It is a case of once bitten, twice shy.”

Responding to a question, the source said: “The final stage of talks with Saraki will still involve some of our leaders, like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who is coordinating the reconciliation in the party.

“In fact, Tinubu has been briefed on the outcome of the meeting at the Villa and why he has to play a key role too.”

Some of the major complaints on nPDP are:

Grudges on the conduct of state congresses
Alleged refusal of the party leadership to stamp its feet on parallel congresses in some states
In the constitution of the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) the New PDP block was generally sidelined as virtually no position was conceded to it. The only member of FEC that belonged to former New PDP block comes from a state that contributed virtually no vote to the APC in the 2015 presidential election.

There has been no significant patronage and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies such as Chief Executives and Executive Directors of government agencies and parastatals as members of our block of the party continue to helplessly watch as these positions are shared by the erstwhile CPC, ACN, ANPP and even APGA blocks of the party and those who have no party at all.

In appointments into boards of various government agencies, very few former New PDP members were patronised. These are, however, not commensurate with our contributions to the growth and victory of the party.

When members of the former New PDP block showed interest in running for the offices of President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, they were subjected to a vicious and relentless political opposition as if they were not legitimate members of the APC family.
During the party primaries preparatory to the 2015 general elections, most of the promises made to sitting members of the National Assembly, who belonged to the former new PDP in terms of a level playing field were reneged upon or observed more in breach.

There has been general lack of consultation, non-recognition and even persecution of former New PDP members and leaders by the party and government. For example, some of our leaders are denied the security cover necessary to visit their constituencies even though they are elected representatives of the people in a government they sacrificed so much for.

Harassment, intimidation and persecution of former New PDP leaders by the government is still an ongoing affair. We do not want to overstate the obvious by cataloguing names of former new PDP stalwarts that are targets of this political pogrom.

On the other hand could it be that the number of prisoners will increase soon and part of our preparation is this recruitment exercise? If so, God help us......

ManirBK:
The federal government has said that it targets to recruit about 6,000 personnel for the Nigerian Prisons Service to close the gap on the current shortage of manpower in the service.
The minister of Interior, Lt-Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) disclosed this when he paid Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Awka, yesterday .
General Dambazau revealed that the recruitment initiative was part of efforts by the federal government to ensure that the Nigerian Prisons Service met the minimum United Nations’ standard for the rehabilitation of prisoners.
Describing the inability of prisoners to appear in court to defend themselves as a major challenge in the administration of justice, the minister revealed that the ministry has procured vehicles to convey prisoners to court, adding that, the federal government was already working out modalities to have courts established near prisons so as to save the cost of transporting those being remanded in prisons to courts to enable them answer to the charges against them.

As Nigeria is planning to have its national carrier in December, Nigeria Air, what about we having someone like Adebayo Ogunlesi to help remodel our airport as he was able to transform the Gatwick Airport into a world-class business and tourist airport especially Muritala Muhammed Internation Airport in Lagos.

Whoever and whereever my love is and come from provided we are of same religious and personal ideology - boom! i will wife her. I said "Mum, Dad, i am no marrying any devil, worst case if i know she is one. I will take my chances at finding that angel i do not know". Case close, no one pressures me anymore.

The phrase "working hard" pisses me up nowadays not because I am lazy but because working hard is not the way to get rich and be comfortable.

For instance look around you, I am sure you know atleast one person who is very hardworking, they could be a close friend, neighbours, it could even be our dad or mum. But look at them, sometimes when you hear them speak, some will tell you they have been working for twenty years, some thirty and some fourty and above years with nothing to show for it. All the money they got from working hard are only used to cater for their family and pay bills, after all this they have nothing to show for it after long years of working and sweating.

Meanwhile another guy in the corner knows what works for him, let's say he loves playing football, he would work towards that and before you know it he is a billionaire. Another guy loves singing, he works towards that, before you know it, they are calling him or her for shows up and down. Just recently our celebrity musician tekno said he did not go to school and he is a milionaire, we all know when he started singing meanwhile some of us have been working before he starts singing but just look at it now, our money and his money no be mate, another musician is Mr eazi...how many more do I want to talk about!!!

The message I am trying to pass is know what works for you, if you loves singing go for it, follow your dream one day you will succeed. if you love football, same thing applies to it. If it's acting, go for it,u will succeed

Another thing I want you to note is that when you love doing something and you back it up with prayer and you go for it, there is no way you won't make it.

There are some great music's that haven't been produced because those with the talent are busy doing another thing.

There are some great writers yet to be known simply because they are no where to be found

There are some great footballer that are even far better than Messi and Ronaldo but he or she is somewhere wallowing in poverty

To end it all, school is very important but the way our economy is going, don't dare say you want to become a doctor, lawyer, accountant without having plan B

To me school is overated, u will hear pple saying I want to become a doctor whereas they have something that can pay them more well than those professions they just enlisted.
School is good but if you are not careful, it can make you to be poor.

France is fully behind him. He's their good puppet and channel of exploitation of Cameron and her people. When they are tired of him they will get rid of him and install another puttet in waiting.

This is generally the way of France in her colonies. The sense in their post-colonial neo-colonialist policy of Assimilation.
Business › Re: 6 Sure Ways To Earn Passive Income In Nigeria - Nigerianonlinebusiness by omojeesu(m): 7:36pm On Jul 13, 2018
andreweb:
Passive income simply implies that an individual makes profit consistently for a job he only did once. It is further explained as making money without really having to work for it. Passive income is regarded by me as one of the major difference that exists between the rich and the poor. The rich engage in many income streams and make profits from all of them at the same time. While the poor puts all his hope on only one income stream. In Nigeria’s economy today, to have a passive income seems necessary than taking a look at convenience.

However, it is important to note that the passive income you engage in will make money for you but you have to be watchful. You can not just open the business and sleep off. It will require you to have spare time, commitment and capital to start up the business. When the business finally grows, you can then reduce your supervision towards it and make money while you sleep. The beauty of passive income is that you do not need to invest again or put more effort when your money starts coming in. I know Nigerians buy into the idea of making money while sleeping in the comfort of your homes. But this cannot be achieved without having the knowledge of passive income ideas.

Passive income ideas include:

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of the best and easiest way to make money online. To earn passive income from affiliate marketing, people must click on the affiliate links you have on your site. When people click the affiliate link on your site, you then receive a commission at no extra cost to them when they buy a product or goods. It is one of the ways to make money without leaving your computer.

I have created a guide that would help those who are interested in Affiliate Marketing. Once you get this guide, you are sure of making almost $200 monthly.

Create an event centre/hall

There are a lot of Nigerians who celebrate special days like Birthdays, Weddings etc and even those who organize seminars. Majority of them would not want to do this under the open air for fear of either rain or the hot sun. They would prefer to hire a hall or an event centre to do want they want to do. You can earn passive income from creating an event centre when people hire your hall. You do not have to be present always, you can hire the services of somebody who will be in charge of collecting the money and releasing the place. If this idea is something you can conjure up with your money, then it is widely advised to do it.

Build an Online Course

Building an online course can also be a great source of passive income. It works like this; you create an enriching online course that will assist people in taking care of their problems or needs. The online course may be in form of a video, e-book and emails. You earn passive income from this business idea when prospective customers sign up to buy the online course package, and in return, your system automatically sends the buyers the email or e-book depending on what you created. You will fix a price so that when they see the online course package and are ok with the price, then they pay and you get credited into your local bank account or PayPal account if it’s a foreigner purchasing it.

Freelancing

Freelancing is another moving source of acquiring passive income. You can either sign up for Fiverr or any other freelancing job. Freelancing can be done anywhere and anytime depending on your work schedule. In Freelancing, a job will be assigned for you to do, and on the completion of the job, you get paid by any means. The freelancing job may include content writing.

You can also hire other people to do the job if you are not available, and when the job had been completed, you get paid and also your employee gets paid by you. It is one good source of earning passive income because it does not require much time to do. This book I created will help you earn on Fiverr. Top Fiverr freelancers make about $700, and you too can.

Engage in Network marketing

Network marketing is what the majority of Nigerians engage in to earn passive income. You are required to build up your network and once its set, you start earning money. The challenge that faces Nigerians is that they fail to follow up their referrers and explain to them what they are engaging in really means. Another challenge Nigerians face and are scared of is the issue of Ponzi schemes. They are afraid to venture into Network marketing for fear of getting duped because they think they might fall into the trap of Ponzi schemes owners.

Let people run your owned business

Nigerians far and wide also engage in this. There are many businesses you can start and give it out for someone to manage while you receive your income at the end of the day or month. Transportation business is one of it. You can buy a bus, then hire a good driver and a conductor. Their job is to carry passengers to their desired location. At the end of the day, the money realized would be shared between each party involved.

In conclusion, there are many business ideas you can engage in and earn passive income while you sleep. The numerous passive income business ideas listed above are very lucrative and easy to start. There are some passive business ideas that require huge capital to start up and there are some that require little or no capital. It all depends on what you have in your pocket. Overall, passive income business ideas are massive in terms of making it big.

I hinted it to my son though I wasn't aware of these statistics.

My premise (but may be wrong): It's all about 666. Just as 1966 was a 666 year so is 2018. Total number of goals was 6 (4+2). Will it be so in 2018?

I am convinced there's is indeed a god of soccer, subsidiary of the god of entertainment and pleasure. The god of soccer determines who wins what. Didn't the English start football?

It's their time to be honoured by the god of soccer again! Isn't it?

Time will tell. I am not a seer o!

footballflaver:
England last won the World Cup in 1966 but there's historical proof that the side will be crowned champions of the world once again, at this summer's tournament in Russia.

In 1966, England smashed Germany 4-2 at Wembley to win their first ever World Cup.

But it's also the year Real Madrid won the European Cup, Burnley qualified for Europe, Chelsea finished 5th and Manchester City won the league (the second division).

Any of this sound familiar?

Yep. Last season, all this happened as well.

Well, all of this apart from the World Cup winners, which is yet to be decided...

Here's a thought...

1966:
Real Madrid win the European Cup
Burnley qualify for Europe
Man City win their league
Chelsea finish 5th
England win #WorldCup

2018:
Real Madrid win the European Cup
Burnley qualify for Europe
Man City win their league
Chelsea finish 5th

Omens...

Put it in your diary - July 15th - it's going to be the day when captain Harry Kane will be lifting the trophy above his head.

What more proof do you need?
